Breast Lift with Reverse Tummy Tuck

This surgery is my 8th surgery. Dr Trent Douglas with HKB is a fabulous Doctor. He has a great bedside manner in addition to be a good surgeon. I cannot see my results yet as I am only 2 days post op. I have not taken my bandages off to get the full spectrum of the surgery results. Updated on 5 Sep 2025: I had an unexpected and unfortunate experience with my breast lift/augmentation. I had some loss of blood supply to just one of my nipples. It has put a huge damper on my excitement for my new boobs. I have been in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber for 6 days straight. Meaning 2 hour sessions for the last 6 days. We are still waiting to see what my body is going to do. A POSITIVE NOTE to this situation is how kind and loving Dr Douglas has been. He is right beside me holding my hand through this tough situation. He is hopeful that the oxygen chamber worked with my tissue underneath the dead tissue. He said a small skin graft and we probably would not even be able to tell there was a problem. It just is going to take a lot more time to get where I want to be. I go back to see him again on Tuesday morning.

I highly recommend Dr Douglas and his team

This was my first major surgery and I was expecting the worst. I visited a couple of other surgeons but Dr Douglas was way above them. He was very honest, caring, answered my questions and his entire team from front desk, anesthesiologist, nurses, everyone was very professional and caring. Regarding my procedure - tummy tuck- I can say I had NO pain at all after surgery. I followed all of his instructions and I took my prescriptions on time, I had discomfort as expected after this procedure but overall my experience was amazing. I called the office a few times with questions that were answered almost right away. The nurse was very kind and ready to give us advice. The scar is minimal my husband referred to Dr Douglas as “an artist” the first time he saw my new belly button and the scar. - again we were expecting something really bad- This is day 9 after my surgery and I feel great physically I can almost stand up straight and my body look amazing. Minimal bruising. I highly recommend Dr Douglas and his team.

A Followup Surgery That Was Even Greater Than the First!!

Hi there!! I already posted a review of my first lip fat transfer surgery with Dr. Douglas, and this is my second lip fat transfer surgery with him and his great team! My result was even better this time (i've gotten several nice comments from friends and my partner)! This time I used much stricter postop recovery practices, which I will detail here for anyone curious about getting higher fat retention on their lip fat transfers. I want to mention first: my goal was a permanent augmentation that simulated standard lip fillers (Juvaderm, etc.) but that didn't fade over time. I like the big lip look! A lot!! (the "bimbo" look if you like ;D) and want to keep having big lips permanently. So it makes more financial sense for me to use my own (in this case: my belly's) fat and do that surgery several times then it does to pay for standard fillers over and over again. Anyway, my postop care practices! First off, the way fat transfer works when you want maximum retention is that you keep the part of your body that fat has been added to, such as your lips or your butt, as immobilized as possible for the first 4-6 weeks. So I only spoke through clenched teeth for the first three weeks or so, and avoided using my lips to shape words whenever possible. (This mean M's, N's, B's, P's, and V's were trickier sounds to make.) When that wasn't feasible, I communicated with text-to-speech on my phone, I used texting, and I used a white board I kept on hand. These were COVID times and I was around the house most of the time, so this wasn't as big a sacrifice as it sounds haha. The other thing I did, other than avoiding straws which you definitely should, was that I used a small funnel over my open mouth and poured water and other drinks through it. I didn't wrap my lips around the funnel or move my lips at all really. This way I wasn't matching the lip and rims of cups against my healing lips, which I believe also kills off fat cells in your lips when you do it, the same as shaping your lips to speak or suck on a straw. Needless to say, my partner and I were not making out very often throughout this lol. (They got over it lololol) Now did I spill liquid on myself sometimes? You bet I did, but "beauty is suffering," right? Besides it's just a few weeks, and obvi I can just do laundry. Beyond those, I avoided drinking alcohol for the first six weeks, I only took acetaminophen on the night after surgery and twice the next day, when the pain was at its worst. They're anti-inflammatories and ultimately I want my lips to be inflamed, y'know?? heehee Also after my first surgery, which was also during COVID, I got antsy with all this sitting still and I think I walked a little more around the house than I should have. A little walking each day goes a long day, you don't need to be hitting 10k steps a day while recovering from surgery, or maybe even 5k steps. I also let myself put on a little weight during surgery (which I've since lost) because I do keto most of the time and that makes your body burn fat *a lot,* and I wanted to be sure I didn't burn fat while healing from a fat transfer surgery. Dr. Douglas and everyone at PSS in North Bay are fantastic, this surgery went great, my result was great, and I'm looking forward to doing this surgery again at a later date!! wheeeeeeeeeee THANK YOU EVERYONE AT PSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fat transfer to lips with Dr. Douglas! :D

I like bimbo aesthetics a whole heckuva lot, and after getting a BBL then 1200cc breasts then some facial reconstructive work, I wanted to finish with getting bigger lips!!! However I wanted a more permanent solution than lip fillers, I wanted a permanent enlargement that wouldn’t fade over time. Dr. Douglas and his staff were really warm, friendly, and supportive. Every single person in that office is fantastic, Renee, Melanie, Sarah, and everyone else I met and who worked on me whose name I can’t remember - sorry!!!! A little about me: personally I feel like I come off like an extremely weird goofball, and I’ve gotten a lot of pushback from people (even some surgeons) about my body goals. I’m not super fixated on having a “natural looking body,” which I know is an unusual attitude to have. I think fake looking is great looking!! #plasticfantastic Anyway I mention all that stuff about me because Dr. Douglas and the staff at Plastic Surgery Specialists were extremely kind and encouraging and did not make me feel like a “freak,” which is something I’ve been called to my face more than once. I really, genuinely, truly look forward to all my appointments at PSS. They’re a fantastic group of people. It feels really safe there. (Plus they’ve got great COVID screening procedures, so I feel extra extra safe there lol) The only downside to this surgery was, unlike with my BBL, my body reabsorbed way more than 30-50% of the 8cc’s (!!!!) of fat we harvested from my belly and injected into my lips. It seems like I reabsorbed more than 80%, which is very strange. I’ve always thought of myself as a good follower of postop instructions, but maybe I was messing up some way every day I didn’t take into account. And the fat that was harvested was quality fat, I saw it myself, and Dr. Douglas apportioned it exactly right throughout my lips. Everything healed symmetrically, quickly, and without scarring. The hardest part of doing this surgery that requires the most finesse and artistry, in my opinion, is injecting the fat in such a way that all of it heals evenly. So that you’re not left with lumpy or uneven lips. Like, lips that are big on one side and smaller on the other. Getting temporary lip fillers like Restylane is way more common these days than getting fat transfer to the lips, so it’s no small feat to #1 find a surgeon who does fat transfer to lips and #2 find a surgeon who does fat transfer really really well. Dr. Douglas is all of those things!!!! Plus he’s really friendly and whip smart. I feel fortunate to be a patient of his. Anyway I’m bummed and embarrassed that I will have to get this surgery a second time now, b/c I’m not made of money and can probably only afford one more try. I’m happy I have a slightly bigger lips now than I used to, I used to not even have much of an upper lip and now my upper lip actually exists. And I’m happy to be going to such a quality place like PSS and seeing a surgeon as talented as Dr. Douglas (plus his great staff)!!!! Updated on 11 Feb 2021: I really liked when my lips were all puffy in those first couple weeks. I wish they could have stayed any of the sizes you see in those four "after" pics. Will I need more than 8ccs next time to get them to stay that size afterwards?? Maybe it's not realistic for me to hope I can get that size in even two surgeries. But also my healing was weird, because I've seen pics of people's lips immediately after this surgery and they didn't look half as nice as my lips did immediately postop. Cross your fingers I don't reabsorb so much fat next time!!! Anyway here are some more wish pics for what I'm looking for as my long-term postop result. Many of these didn't upload right when I attached them to the original review, which will teach me not to upload via the app next time but to stick to desktop. It's helpful for me to have them somewhere I can find them later, plus it's fun to show off

I am only 4 weeks post-op and I feel like the real me is back. Thank you!

The entire staff was warm and welcoming, from sharing their personal stories about their treatments to just being kind. I never felt rushed. Dr. Douglas himself was just wonderful in his bedside manner. He has a calm assurance that I was making the right decisions for my needs. I never felt upsold or pushed upon. I talked to several providers prior to making my final decision, and I am happy that I chose Dr. Douglas and the team. I am only 4 weeks post-op and I feel like the real me is back. Thank you!

I am so happy that I took this step and am very happy with the results

In the initial interview with Dr Douglas he was professional, knowledgeable and explained the procedures so that I was prepared for my surgery. He arranged for a pleasant surgical site, the Anaesthesiologist whom he chose put me at ease prior to putting me to sleep. My post op care was arranged and comfort measures were initiated and I was surprised at how soon I was able to care for myself.
