After reaching my mid-fifties, I decided to explore options for facial rejuvenation. I have a thin face and narrow jaw and was getting jowls with the associated droop of the lower face. Crepey skin also comes with the territory of my background. Dr. Ricketts came highly recommended on this site, with excellent reviews, competitive pricing, and the convenience of a one-night stay in the hospital. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, Dr. Ricketts and her staff were incredibly attentive, intuitive, professional, and supportive. I opted for a lower facelift procedure, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My jowls are gone, the crepey skin on my neck and the vertical lines gone on my neck and face. Dr. Ricketts took the time to listen to my concerns and preferences, considering my personal aesthetics every step of the way. The surgery itself went smoothly, although I experienced some expected swelling and bruising, particularly in the neck area, which resolved within a few weeks. Sensory numbness was also present. I knew this would resolve and had no issues waiting for feeling to return. The procedure was performed in winter so I could wrap up a bit to hide the recovery issues. Prior to my decision to undergo surgery, I had tried non-surgical treatments elsewhere, which proved to be both expensive and disappointing. The temporary results of a thread lift and discomfort during the procedure left me considering a more permanent solution such as a mini facelift. Dr. Ricketts explained that while a mini facelift was an option, it would likely yield similar temporary results without addressing underlying structural concerns. Reflecting on my experience, I would encourage others in a similar position to carefully consider their options. While non-surgical procedures may offer convenience – the “lunchtime facelift”, they often come with a high price tag for the duration of results one gets. Instead, investing in a more comprehensive surgical procedure can provide long-lasting, transformative results. Dr. Ricketts and her team have helped me achieve exactly what I was looking for at a very reasonable cost. I am grateful for her expertise and support throughout the process.

Takes the time to thoroughly explain my procedures, nothing was too much trouble, very caring and made me relaxed and comfortable with what I was having done. I came to Dr Sophie seeking a revision on a previous septorhinoplasty that caused my bridge to look too scooped and unnatural. I felt very bothered and self conscious of this feature of my face. Sophie added a small graft on the bridge, and my problem was fixed! It was an easy recovery and I'm very happy. Sophie is kind, caring and very very skilled. My jaw is so short that my chin was barely protruding from my neck. I had the wrong implant done in 1995 in Europe and lived with it for 27 more years until I found Sophie. Other surgeons shied away from doing a "revision", afraid of what they'd find once they opened me up but Sophie... She had the right reviews and the right confidence, and it all turned out to be totally justified. She's an amazing person: caring and compassionate but also a peerless professional. Walked me through the process like it was nothing. And the end result is fantastic! I wish I'd found her sooner. A year after the surgery I couldn't be happier and the truth is, although she's put my photos up her website - those photos don't do justice to how bad it was before, and how good it became after. Sophie is very personable and has been attentive to my needs, concerns and goals from day 1 to now (3 months post op (chin implant)). I am thrilled with the results of the implant and had no complications. I was well-informed of the details and risks of the procedure and everything proceeded exactly to plan.
