Absolutely Worth It
After reaching my mid-fifties, I decided to explore options for facial rejuvenation. I have a thin face and narrow jaw and was getting jowls with the associated droop of the lower face. Crepey skin also comes with the territory of my background. Dr. Ricketts came highly recommended on this site, with excellent reviews, competitive pricing, and the convenience of a one-night stay in the hospital. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, Dr. Ricketts and her staff were incredibly attentive, intuitive, professional, and supportive.
I opted for a lower facelift procedure, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My jowls are gone, the crepey skin on my neck and the vertical lines gone on my neck and face. Dr. Ricketts took the time to listen to my concerns and preferences, considering my personal aesthetics every step of the way. The surgery itself went smoothly, although I experienced some expected swelling and bruising, particularly in the neck area, which resolved within a few weeks. Sensory numbness was also present. I knew this would resolve and had no issues waiting for feeling to return. The procedure was performed in winter so I could wrap up a bit to hide the recovery issues.
Prior to my decision to undergo surgery, I had tried non-surgical treatments elsewhere, which proved to be both expensive and disappointing. The temporary results of a thread lift and discomfort during the procedure left me considering a more permanent solution such as a mini facelift. Dr. Ricketts explained that while a mini facelift was an option, it would likely yield similar temporary results without addressing underlying structural concerns.
