I have had 4 kids and it is time for my little mommy makeover. I have decided to have a mini tummy tuck with lipo to get my body back to where I want it. I have a mom pooch with loose skin and even after diet and exercise, it doesn't get much better. When I'm standing up, you can't see exactly how bad the lose skin is, but when I bend over or lay on my back, it all wrinkles up and hangs off of me. I had several csections so I would also like that scar fixed. My doctor said he will totally cut out the csection scar and give me a flat scar and stomach. In a dress, you can see the csection pouch and it has always been kind of upsetting . I've always been proud of my scar because that's what got my kids here, but I've gotten alot of scar tissue build up behind it that makes it look alot worse. I have scheduled my surgery with dr david l durst. When I went to my consultation, he was very nice, answered all of my questions and took his time explaining everything to me. I have a pre OP appointment next week. My surgery is scheduled for September 4th. I will update after my pre OP appointment. Any advice or tips on recovering from this surgery would be greatly appreciated. Updated on 12 Aug 2019: I am looking to talk with someone who has had a tummy tuck by Dr. Durst? I am so nervous about this surgery. I'm worried I wont get the result I am hoping for. The photos I have seen of Dr. Dursts patients' tummy tucks were so beautiful. It really looks like he does good work. This is just a big surgery and I am so nervous about it. Advice? Updated on 13 Aug 2019: I had my pre op appointment today with Dr. Durst and I was very happy with it. I was so nervous going into it, but be made me feel so comfortable and explained everything to me and gave me clarity. So I'm hoping to have the results I am wanting :) I went and got my prescriptions for after surgery filled. I'm going to go tomorrow to get a list of supplies I need for after care. Just a few more weeks! Updated on 14 Aug 2019: I got my blood work done today, and picked up some after surgery supplies. It's getting so real now :) I got fitted for some surgical stockings to prevent blood clots. All I have left are a few small supplies from walmart and I will be ready to go! Updated on 17 Aug 2019: I finally did some shopping for after surgery. This is the list of items my doctor said I would need. Except for the cleansing wipes, I just got those because I like to feel clean and I know I'm not going to be able to shower until the drains are out. Is there anything I'm missing? Anything that you guys have used that was a lifesaver? I am about to order a walker to help with walking without hurting my back. It's getting REAL. I am getting so excited! Updated on 18 Aug 2019: The last update didnt post the picture with it. So I'm trying again in hopes that you can see the supplies I have bought. I also went today and got a donut pillow to sit on since someone told me it would be much needed. They said it helps because all of the sitting , and the way you have to sleep while recovering is very uncomfortable. Updated on 23 Aug 2019: I received the walker I ordered. Everything is set up and ready to go now. My doctor said that I will be using a corset type binder after surgery, but I think I'm going to order a faja also to help with compression. Surgery day is getting here so fast, yet so slow. I cant wait to be able to put on a sexy dress and not have that baby pouch, and love handles anymore. I hope I get the results I am dreaming of. Updated on 27 Aug 2019: I know people say "You are tiny, why would you get a tummy tuck?" But it's not about being big or small for me. It's about the loose skin and muscle separation, causing a bulge in my stomach. When I bend over, the lose skin just hangs off of me. Now that it is getting so close, the nerves are really starting to kick in and I am getting so scared! Updated on 30 Aug 2019: I am only 4 days away from my surgery, yet I feel so unprepared. I bought all of the supplies on the list the doctor gave me. Is there a video somewhere on how exactly to treat the scars and incisions during recovery? I'm trying not to think too much about the surgery because when I do, I get really nervous. Please keep me in your prayers as I get closer to my surgery day! Updated on 3 Sep 2019: My surgery is first thing in the morning! Any tips on what to eat after surgery to keep from the uncomfortable bloating? My poor husband is more scared than I am. He is a nervous wreck. I am getting my bed all ready and getting an extension cord plugged in with my phone charger. I will keep everyone updated. Updated on 3 Sep 2019: Excuse my very blurry camera. But this is how my stomach looks when I sit down, from the front. It bulges from the muscle separation and just looks deformed. Standing up it isn't so bad. But you can tell alot more when I am sitting or bending over. This will be my last update before surgery. I will let everyone know how it goes afterward. :) Happy healing everyone! Updated on 4 Sep 2019: Thank you so much to everyone who kept me in their prayers. I am out of surgery and on my way home. The pain is there, but manageable as of right now. Which I know it can get worse after everything wears off. I got to get a little peak while they were adjusting my garment and I'm so happy with where the scar is and how small it is!!! I can't wait to see the final result. I will post pictures as soon as I am able . Updated on 4 Sep 2019: Okay so its 9:30 pm. I havent slept since I've gotten home, but have been getting alot of rest :) I have also been doing alot of walking with my walker, without over doing it. So once I got home I took my pain medicine, but it didnt seem to help much with the pain. So i called my doctor and he prescribed me new meds. These are working better. Having a travel pillow for my neck has been a big help since I've had to rest sitting up. I just took more pain meds and my sleeping pill so I'm hoping to get rest tonight. I get to see my stomach tomorrow and I'm so excited about it. Overall, it hasnt been as bad as I expected. Dr. Durst said that he fixed my muscle separation and even sewed some above my belly button. I didnt have any hernias. This drain is probably the most annoying part as of right now. I'm just feeling super blessed today and I'm hoping that everything continues on the right track and that I dont have any complications. So far, Dr. Durst has been great. Hes been so helpful and caring. I've had bad doctors in the past so that is comforting. I will try to update daily of things change. Good luck on everyone's surgeries! And also congrats to those who have scheduled surgery dates!! <3 Updated on 5 Sep 2019: It is 5:51 am. I havent gotten much sleep. I've been able to get in comfortable positions but just dont seem to be sleepy at all. When my alarm when off to take more pain meds, I could definitely feel it this morning. I guess after lying still for so long, it made me pretty sore. I just emptied my drain tube and took more pain meds. Here is my first pre op pick before taking off my garment. I still have all of the foam around me and I am pretty swollen. So I'm excited to see my stomach without the garment today. Where I had liposuction on my flanks are a little sore today, just feels like I was working out in those areas as of now. I havent felt any pain in my incision until this morning when I sat down to pee. It felt like my gauze pad was stuck to it and pulling a bit before I could take my pain meds. Ouch! But so far so good. The comfortable ways I have found to sleep are to have a large pillow on each side of me, a large one under my knees, and 2 large ones behind me back to prop me up. But the travel neck pillow has been the key. I am able to sleep without hurting my neck. My husband has been so helpful with everything which has made it so much easier on me. You guys keep me in your prayers as I heal. I will update again after I get to see Dr. Durst today. :) Updated on 5 Sep 2019: My post op appointment went great! Even though I am super swollen, I am already loving my results! I was able to look down while sitting and my stomach was flat and not all wrinkled and rolled. Obviously it's a little wrinkled and stuff from the compression garment, but i see so much change. It may be too soon to say, but I hope things continue to get better each day like they say because I am already so happy. Even my love handles are gone!! I can't wait to see the final result. Dr. Durst was so sweet and was saying how great I was doing because of how well i was handling the pain. I'm not going to lie, I'm in alot more pain today than i was yesterday. But hey, pain is beauty. And also temporary. So I got this!!! I am so excited! Updated on 6 Sep 2019: So today has been the worst day so far. Trying to get out of bed this morning brought tears to my eyes. There is a spot on the left side of my incision that burns when I get up and sit down. It hurt pretty bad today. I think I needed to let my pain meds kick in a bit more before trying to move around. Changing my dressing, and cleaning the drain gets frustrating since I have to have help and cant do it alone. I still have foam under my garment. I have quite a bit of swelling on my lower back, I'm assuming it is because there isnt a foam for that spot so I may have my husband grab an extra one. BUT with that being said, I am still very happy so far. I know I look pretty rough with all or the swelling, blood, and bruising. But I'm just happy to already see a difference, even with all of the swelling. I finally got a good amount of sleep last night so that was nice. The dr said I cant shower until my drains are out so I am staying wiped down with bathing wipes. I still have the surgeons markings all over me because I dont want to be too aggresive when wiping myself down. Unfortunately I am about to start my period too so I get to deal with that on top of healing lol. But that's okay. I will get through it. I'm hoping tomorrow is a bit easier. Updated on 7 Sep 2019: So after having a pretty painful start to my day on day 3, I decided that I was GOING TO FEEL better. So I took my pain meds, changed my dressings, emptied my bulb drains and then had a nice wrag bath, rubbed some lotion on my arms and legs, fixed my hair and even put on a little make up. It felt nice not to feel so ugly. After I did that, I got my walker and I started making laps around my living room. I was NOT about to sit there and pout anymore. After getting up and moving, talking with the kids, eating some food, and lighting some candles, I was already starting to feel better. The soreness wasn't as extreme, the more I walked. I ended up having a nice evening with my husband watching a movie. I hadnt had a bowel movement yet since before my surgery, but had been taking colace daily to help break it up. So I had my husband pick up some suppositories because I didnt want to do any straining. That went well and I had my first boweI movement. Woo hoo!! Which eased alot of bloating I had. So I'm going to keep doing that until I finish my pain meds. I took the sleeping medicine the dr had given me and man does that stuff work!?! It worked so well. I've never fell into such a peaceful and deep sleep in my life. I wish my sleep was always that great. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, I have had such a blessed experience, and I hope it continues this positive. I've added a before and after photo of my stomach while sitting. I know others may not notice the difference, but I've stared at these insecure areas of my body for many many years, so I definitely see change I am so excited about. I'm hoping to be able to get better pictures after my drain is out. I ordered a faja and another foam board for my back, so I'm hoping they fit right this time. I am just loving how small my waist is already. My husband was not a fan of me doing this surgery. He always said he loved me the way I am. But he also supported me doing what makes me happy. As soon as the doctor took off the garment, my husbands mouth kind of fell open like " wow, that's a big difference already!" So that made me feel good because he is usually a man of few words. :) If you have any questions just ask away! My body is lookin more contoured! <3 I am so happy. I will update for day 4 today later on :) Happy Healing lovelys! Updated on 7 Sep 2019: I made it to day four!!! Yay! When I went to get out of bed this morning, I was prepared for the painful burning in my incision that I get everytime I tried to get up or down. But guess what guys!? It is almost gone! I was able to get out of bed this morning and wasnt stiff and burning like before! I am feeling better today:) the pain is there but nothing like it was. I think I'm going to be able to start taking less pain medicine now:) I am in the best mood today. I love feeling more independent. I know my pictures are pretty gruesome. I am still pretty swollen all over, especially on my lower back. But I want to share the honest truth of what recovery really looks like. Do any of you lovely ladies remember when you were able to start sleeping flat on your back? Updated on 8 Sep 2019: I'm even less sore today :) I'm not having to rely on pain meds as much. One thing I've learned is that cough drops are a MUST after this surgery. On day 3 I started coughing and choking and boy was it painful! The only thing that helped get my throat clear was cough drops. So I've kept them by my side at all times. Another thing that has been so helpful is having a Walker with the seat that is also a little storage compartment. I've kept my meds, water, cough drops , and all of my important things in it and it just stays with me. I still cant shower since I have my drains in. But i did have my husband help me wash my hair and I feel a thousand times better now. I also cant take off my compression socks yet. I cant wait to be able to take those off and get the drain out. I have posted a picture of my tt incision. What are yalls opinions on how it's looking so far? It is very very swollen. Everyone was right about patience. Trying to be patient waiting to see results can be so hard. I think waiting for results will be easier when I am able to get the drain out. I have another appointment the day after tomorrow. I'm hoping I can get it out then, but the doctor said not to count on it and that it could be the next appointment before they remove it. But that's okay, I got this! It's already day 5 and time is flying. Theres not much more to update on today. I will be back when there is something more to tell you guys :) Updated on 8 Sep 2019: I have to wear compression socks for 7 days after my surgery. This morning I woke up with a tender knot on the right side of my leg under the compression sock. My husband has been rubbing it and it seemed to shrink and get less tender. So I got up and started moving again. I called my doctor and told him about it and he said to keep an eye on it. It's not red. But after about 30 minutes , it seemed to get tender again. I may be just being paranoid but it's kind of worrying me. Has anyone else experienced this? Updated on 8 Sep 2019: Everyone please keep me in your prayers. The knot in my leg became pretty painful and crampy. So the doctor recommended I go to the ER to be checked for a blood clot. I am really scared so if everyone could please pray for me. I will keep everyone posted. Updated on 9 Sep 2019: It has been a long night and day. I was sent to a different ER today because doctor Durst wanted to make sure I got the best care possible just incase i did have a blood clot. He made sure it was handled and is seeing me right after I leave the hospital. I am so so SO thankful that I dont have a blood clot. I think my leg may just be achy from the compression stockings. Thank you everyone for your prayers and for my realself friend for talking me through this. (You know who you are). So I will update again after I see Dr. Durst :) Updated on 9 Sep 2019: Have I mentioned how much I love doctor Durst? He has been amazing throughout this whole experience. He brought me in to check on me today. They removed my stitches out of the small lipo incisions on my back. It was quick and painless. Dr. Durst said sometimes the compression socks can get a little tight at the top, causing the cramping in your legs. I am so relieved not to have a blood clot and to have been seen by my doctor today. I feel much better. I get to get my drains out on Thursday. So just 3 more days! I can't wait. I also got to remove my foam underneath my garment today. I'm sooooo much more comfortable without it. Each day things are getting easier. I'm a little sore today since I'm not relying on my pain meds anymore. But overall I feel great!! I hope things continue to be this great with my doctor because he is really impressing me so far! I have alot of swelling today so no new progression pictures. Maybe tomorrow :) Happy healing beauties! Updated on 10 Sep 2019: Its been a heck of a night. Now that I dont have any more pain meds, I feel every little bit of soreness. I didn't get much sleep last night because of it. I stayed pretty stiff. When did you ladies stop taking your pain meds, and what worked for you for your post op soreness? I posted a picture of my lipo incision site. It is alot smaller and less noticeable than I thought it would be so that's good :) I'm walking standing up completely straight and able to lay down flat. I'm not much of a back sleeper though so I've continued to sleep sitting up. Did you guys have anything to put under your garment to prevent wrinkling? Yayyyy to getting my drain out the day after tomorrow! Updated on 11 Sep 2019: I made it to 1 week post op! I'm so happy. I have added some photos of some areas that I'm going to talk to my doctor about at my appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping it is nothing but I am always paranoid of complications. I have a swollen spot on my side and a little knot above my incision that I havent noticed until today. I feel that the swollen spot on the side is being caused by my garment. My garment has alot of folds in it, and it tends to swell more along the spots the are rolled. I'm not a fan of my garment and wish I could get a new one. Any tips on a garment that doesnt fold, and isnt too pricey? As far as the knot, I'm not sure why it is there. It makes me a little nervous. I started wearing soft tank top under my garment which feels a little better and doesnt cause as many indentations in my stomach. Back pain has been setting in. I guess it is because I still tend walk hunched over when I get stiff. It also is still difficult to lift up my legs at all. To put on socks, pants , ect... My weight before surgery was 115. Day of surgery was 121. Today my weight is 114, but I also have some PMS weight on my right now. I get my drains out tomorrow thank goodness. So I'm going to talk to my doctor about those concerns and will update you guys after. He's always very informative and takes things serious so I'm sure I will get the answers I need. I have an appointment at the hair salon on Friday. I can't wait. I feel like I will feel brand new after getting my first official shower tomorrow and then getting my hair done the next day. Prayers that everything goes well tomorrow at my appointment. If any of you have ever experienced this, please let me know Updated on 12 Sep 2019: I finally got my drain out and oh my goodness does it feel so amazing!!! I feel brand new and am able to move around sooooo much more. I now get to take a real shower! I am happy dancing. I was terrified to get the drain out and thought it was going to hurt so bad. But actually I had one perkocet that I had saved to take before getting my drain removed, so it actually wasnt painful at all. It was super quick, and just felt like someone ran their finger across my stomach. Maybe because I'm still numb in places. So I talked to my doctor about the knot above my incision and he said that it's normal and too soon to worry about anything like that, because I am still very early in recovery. It actually isnt even as big as it was and has gone down alot. I am feeling super happy today guys. Just feeling blessed to be healthy and happy with my results so far even though I have alot of healing to do. I can't even describe how much better it feels to have the drain out. I don't constantly feel like I'm gonna snag it or rip it out. So I'm just feeling great on day 8. I'm hoping things continue to go this great. I got up today and put on makeup, fixed my hair, rubbed on some yummy smelling lotion and perfume. Looking forward to progress. A huge thanks to all of my fellow realselfers for being so supportive through this process. It's been so helpful. Updated on 13 Sep 2019: I was able to sleep on my sides last night! It felt great to finally be totally comfortable. It was a little tender getting onto my side but once I was there I slept really good. Theres not much to update on today other than I'm feeling a little better each day. Happy healing beauties :) Updated on 14 Sep 2019: Today is post OP day 10! Wow it has flown by. At this point, the liposuctioned areas are more tender than any of the tummy tuck areas. My flanks are pretty tender. My tummy is numb for the most part. The swelling in my belly button is going down. But the flanks where I had lipo is still pretty swollen. I do find myself getting tired pretty quick if I try to do too much. Which my doctor did warn me about beforehand with liposuction. He said that it would make you feel really tired for awhile. My scar is starting to lighten up some and get thinner. Any tips on scar treatment? Updated on 16 Sep 2019: Today has been the best healing day so far. I was able to flip back and forth from side to side last night without it being too tender. The swelling from my belly button region and up, has gone down tremendously. I can see my ribs a little more now. I had my first sneeze at post op day 8 and it was brutal. I have sneezed every day since. Even though I'm almost 2 weeks post op, it is still very painful to sneeze. The pain is usually right behind my belly button where my muscle separation was fixed. You can tell a little bit from my side view that my stomach is a little bit flatter today. I bent over to see how my stomach looked bending. Before when I bent over the skin and fat just hung off of me(as you can see in before pictures). But now it doesn't do that and my skin is tight. So far I am just so happy with my results. My doctor has by far exceeded my expectations. Every day that I heal, I am happier. I hope that it stays that way. My scar has continued to get thinner and flatter. Im very happy that it is so low. That is about all I have for you guys today. Happy healing <3 Updated on 17 Sep 2019: So after I mentioned the bump above my incision, I could hardly even see it the days after that, I could only feel the knot. Today when I went to change my dressing, I noticed it is back and seems to be larger. I'm not sure if it is more noticeable today from the way the dressing folded under my garment or what. I guess not knowing what it is is what is bothering me. I dont want to have any complications. Especially after the blood clot scare. But I'm going to trust my doctor and wait it out. Updated on 22 Sep 2019: Not much has changed other than I notice less swelling where I had lipo. I will say that I am definitely ready for the pain in the liposuctioned areas to go away. It stays so tender and I thought by now it would be mostly gone. My scar is getting lighter, though it is still raised in the left half of it. I'm ready to start some scar treatment. Other than that. Things are going well :) Updated on 23 Sep 2019: Did you guys ever have any burning sensation in one spot on your incision? Every since I had my surgery there has been one spot that tends to burn every once in awhile. It is the puckered spot of my incision. The next question I have is... at 3 weeks out, were you guys still dressing your scars with gauze pads and ointment? Also, how long did your doctors suggest you wear a compression garment? Updated on 26 Sep 2019: Each day I am getting more and more happy with my results. I know it can be hard to tell in my before and after pictures since I was standing straight up in most of them. I wish I wouldve taken more bending over and showing more of the problem. Because I am seeing SUCH a huge difference looking down. I took my first bath (instead of shower), and looking down at my stomach was so crazy! It's so different. So flat. No extra skin or rolls when I lay or bend over. I am SOOOOO glad I went with a mini tummy tuck instead of just lipo like I was originally going to do. Just lipo itself wouldn't have given me these results, and I wouldve been super upset. My doctor has been so amazing. So far, I 100 percent recommend him guys. He has been great. If you have any questions, just ask away! Updated on 29 Sep 2019: Just posting progression pictures :) I hope everyone is healing great! The lower part of my back aches when I take off my garment to shower. It is still pretty swollen. My scar is healing nicely though. This week I've noticed how much its lightened up and thinned out. Other than that, not much more to update :) Updated on 11 Oct 2019: I noticed that since I started massaging the liposuctioned areas , I'm alot less tender. I also noticed that alot of my swelling is gone. I have uploaded before and after photos showing the difference in the belly bulge I had. Now that the swelling is going down. I am seeing my abs and muscle definition. I am so excited and so happy with my new body. Dr. David Durst, you are the BEST! Updated on 1 Nov 2019: I had a mini tummy tuck and liposuction done by doctor David Durst. He did AMAZING. I was so nervous going into it, but he exceeded my expectations! I feel better than ever, even better than I did pre pregnancy. This surgery changed my life and I have doctor durst to thank for that. He has been so caring and sweet throughout this whole process and made me feel heard and very comfortable. He has continued to follow up with me even months after the surgery to make sure everything is going smoothly. He is the best surgeon I've met overall in my experience and I definitely recommend! I am so happy with my results! I will insert a before and after shot. Updated on 30 Nov 2019: I am doing really good. I am so happy with my decision . I will post some updated photos when I get a chance. One thing I am noticed though, is that I am having pain down below my belly button where my muscles were sewn together all or the sudden. I'm not sure what could he causing it. Did anyone else experience this, this far out after surgery? Updated on 5 Dec 2019: I am officially 3 months post op. Here are some updated photos. I saw Dr. Durst about the pain I am having and it is due to an umbilical hernia. So Dr Durst is willing to fix the hernia for me, and also give me a scar revision on my belly ring scar. Hopefully it all goes as planned and I am able to get it done and over with! As far as recovery from my tummy tuck and lipo, I am doing great. I am loving the lipoed areas and I'm very happy with my body now. Updated on 23 Jan 2020: I had an umbilical hernia that I needed to have fixed, but i really didnt trust any other doctor other than my doctor, Dr. Durst. So I talked to him about it and he said he would fix it, and would also give me a scar revision where I had my belly pierced, causing lots of lose skin above my belly button. Anyone who knows me, knows I've always hated my belly button. Well I had my hernia repair and scar revision with Dr Durst yesterday and got to see my results today! It looks amazing! He did such a great job!!! He even turned my horrible outie belly button into a pretty innie. I'm so happy!! He is the best doctor EVER!! A miracle worker. I'm so glad I found him. I will never use anyone else! Updated on 27 Jan 2020: I just wanted to post an updated photo of my tummy tuck scar. I am almost 5 months out and not much has changed other than I just had the surgery to fix my hernia (which is still stitched up and recovering so I wont show it just yet). My tt scar is almost non existent at this point. I am very happy with how it healed. Updated on 29 Jan 2020: The last photo didnt post. So I am trying one more time. I have some swelling since I just had another surgery. My stitches were taken out today so I have to keep my belly button packed with gauze for a few weeks and use my binder. ( which explains the weird marks on my stomach)

I had my first meeting with Dr David Durst today. The process was quick today. I met his office manager and she took my before pictures and medical info before I met with the Dr. He was super nice and everything was straightforward and I felt completely comfortable with him and his staff. They answered all of my questions. Now everything is in the hand of BCBS of Alabama for approval. I’m hoping for approval and not having to submit everything by snail mail. So here are my before pics and I can’t wait to add my post op pics soon!!Updated on 2 Jan 2019: January 30th at 10:30 I will finally have these bad boys removed! I’m so tired of the snoopy boobs and I’m ready for tiny tatas! My doctor sent my info to insurance on December 28th for approval and I called today Jan 2nd, in hopes that I got approved. I’m sure I annoyed the sweet lady on the phone (that tends to happen when you squeal and giggle when you get good news!) when she told me it was approved. I did my pre op papers online for the surgery center and moved all my clients that would have been booked when I’m recovering. I’m so excited I could cry right now! Now I just have to wait for the big day. But I do have a trip to Miami coming up before surgery to look forward to. That’s gonna suck having to wear compression hose on the flight since it’s so close to surgery time. Don’t want to risk the blood clots! I was sent home with a Rx for surgical stockings since I’m high risk for blood clots and my mother had a history of them. Went and had my legs measured for the most granny pair of knee high nude hose! I had to pay $103 out of pocket for them! I actually wore them today to work per my doctors request to make sure they are comfortable and don’t cut off circulation. They were surprisingly comfortable even with the lovely knee roll they gave me. I go next Thursday for preOp blood work. This is all feeling so real now. 19 days until surgery!!!!Updated on 24 Jan 2019: 5 days until surgery!!! Seems so real now. I got my last shipment of supplies for recovery. They told me to get 3/4 boxes of ABD pads for after at home and Walmart online had the best deal of 4 boxes for $20.38. Most places are $12 a box or more. So get these if you can for a great deal. They are the exact brand my PS office told me to get. I’m so ready to get this done and be onto the recovery portion instead of waiting. Not too much longer now. Just pray that the snow avoids our area so my surgery doesn’t get pushed back. Updated on 29 Jan 2019: It’s so close. I’ve been trying to keep busy so my nerves don’t get worked up. I’m super excited and ready to have it done with, so here are my last before pics when I harnessed them up and out for the last time in a TRUE underwire bra. More updates to come tomorrow. Updated on 30 Jan 2019: Finally on the smaller side. I got sick in recovery and threw up a few times. But I’m in my room now with a pain pump. Things are going good. When I’m more awake I will post a full update with hopefully more pictures. Updated on 31 Jan 2019: I’m home now from my surgery. Yesterday morning went to the hospital at 10am. They took me back and I got dressed in the lovely gown and compression socks then the fun began. I’m a notorious hard stick for IVs. They used the vein finder and still I got stuck three times. They got my Iv started and then the surgeon came in and did my markings. Before I New it I was on my way to theatre. I was out before they moved me to the table. I woke up in recovery around 5 and I was throwing up and hurting. Even after the behind the ear nausea sticker and iV nausea meds. I was taken up to my room around Six and met up with my husband. He has helped me in and out of the bed and to the bathroom multiple times in the night. My original iv blew out before they could start my pain pump. So another stick to get it started along with an arm board to keep my wrist straight. I slept on and off all night. I only use the pain pump about 8-10 hits during the night. I could have it every ten mins but I didn’t need it that often. Around midnight I was able to get a look at my new girls. And I cried because they looked so good. They removed my iv around six this morning and then I was put on oral pain meds bs I tolerated they well. I did hurt when they cleaned my incisions. Had them give m me another dose of pain meds when the Doc came in. Then I was able to go home. I’ve been able to sleep on and off and my mother in law brought me stew and that helped me tremendously. My throat is so sore from the tube down my throat. Updated on 1 Feb 2019: I’ve slept off and on since I got home yesterday afternoon. Pain level isn’t too bad. I’ve kept ice packs in rotation since I got home. My husband is driving me a little nuts but i know he means well. Now I’m resting up for my first shower in a few hours. Updated on 1 Feb 2019: Total wipe out of energy for the quickest shower in history. I highly recommend to take a pain pill an hour before your shower and be as quick as possible. I feel more human now but I’m still covered in the scrub solution and sticky tape. Updated on 3 Feb 2019: Im in love with my tiny boobs. It’s still super weird to see them and my belly. I feel like I’m off balance since they took off 5 pounds from my chest. Frozen veggies have been the best for pain control. Word of advice if you use the veggies, put them in a ziplock bag. I was quite literally “pea’d” on three times. Updated on 6 Feb 2019: A full week after my surgery and I have my follow up tomorrow morning. Updated on 9 Feb 2019: At my follow up appointment I was told I had a little infection starting in leftie. I’m healing well but that side is like worrying. My doctor changed me from polysporin to a RX antibiotic ointment and oral antibiotics. So that should wipe it out fairly quickly. Next follow up on Thursday. Praying everything heals smoothly. Updated on 16 Feb 2019: My doctor is super pleased with how the infection is healing up. All my stitches came out this week. I feel so much better with them gone. I can actually scrub-ish on the chest and get rid of some of the dead skin. I picked a couple scabs off the infected boob because moist is better for the antibiotic cream to help heal. And they look super irritated but it’s getting better. I’m cleared for light duty and part time at work after 20 days of recovery. I went shopping yesterday and I paid for over doing it. So take it easy! Back to bed and resting. Updated on 26 Feb 2019: Went in for my 4 week follow up this morning. My right boob is doing amazing. Lefty is still slightly problematic. I have to keep up with the antibiotic cream and dressing changes twice a day for the next two weeks until the spot on the T section closes. I’m cleared for walking in the gym but no sweaty workouts and still no lifting for the next month. I also got the go ahead to start scar cream everything but the open spot. Next follow up in a month. Happy healing

This has completed changed my life. I feel like a totally different person. My self-esteem was off the charts. I had the liposuction done in 2009 and felt good about the results and then in 2012 I lost 100 pounds. The results from the liposuction really shined at this point. My doctor was excellent and answered all questions that I had. The recovery from the procedure was not bad at all.

I was a little leery of plastic surgery going into this procedure after a recent horrific experience with a different plastic surgeon related to different procedures but Dr. Durst was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, he demonstrated his knowledge of the procedure and explained it to me in detail (including a drawing on the white paper covering the doctor's table)! His staff was extremely professional, welcoming, and friendly during each and every visit. I received excellent care both before and after the procedure. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Durst. I have been getting Botox treatments for my crows feets and lines between the eyebrows.The procedure over all is very quick. My doctor blasts cold are on the injection site, in a few seconds the location is numb, and then he injects the botox.I have had bruising, but this is normal for me. I love the effect botox has on erasing my crows feet and years.

Juvederm gives me at least 5 years back. The gradual fat loss in my tear trough area made me look tired and lack luster. I decided to try Juvederm to diminish the hollowing in my tear trough area. Previous to this decision I relied on botox, quarterly treatments, for roughly a year.In May of 2009 I had my first Juvederm tear trough treatments. I purchased one syring for $600.00 that was to be divided up between my tear troughs, and a few smaller areas around my mouth. The doctor first injected the treatment areas with a local anesthesia that took no more than 15 minutes to work. The doctor injected 2.5 of the syringe in each tear trough.The process was uncomfortable, but not painful. Truthfully, it is a little difficult to put your thoughts in a different place when your eyes are being used as a pin cushion. Thankfully the rest of the treatment areas were painless and much easier to bear.After the procedure, I suffered some bruising and swelling for which I took some Motrin and used a bag of frozen blueberries for the swelling. The swelling was almost completely gone the next day and the bruising was gone within a week of the treatment. I was extremely happy with the results. I looked at least 5 years younger, energetic, and vibrant.For me the procedure was worth every penny. Considering that I pay $480.00 for botox treatments every four months, the cost of a Juvederm treatment of $600.00, in the tear trough area, where the results are seen for 9 to 12 months, is a bargain.At the two week checkup the doctor and I both agreed that we could have been a little more aggressive with the amount of Juvederm. This is one of the reasons I trust my doctor, he takes a conservative approach and strives to obtain a much improved appearance, thus, allowing for more nature looking cosmetic improvements.March 5, 2010: I have had my second tear trough treatment. I began to notice in February that my tear trough was becoming darker and hollowed again, so I scheduled an appointment. The procedure was just as the first, except I believe I was more nervous this time. By the second day the swelling was mostly gone, but it was clear that the results were, once again, absolutely amazing, not to forget that I have less bruising this go round. The doctor injected 3.5 of the syinge into both tear troughs and the rest in the corners of my mouth where I have a slight downward turn; this was a nice effect too.I think for Juvederm to be a successful experience all depends on the approach and skill level of the doctor. Also, do your research about the procedure, and the most up to date filler to be used, and the best practice for that procedure. Always discuss, with your doctor, what product they suggest using and how they will perform the procedure, how many times have they performed the procedure.

I have hated my nose since I was very little (I'm 27 now). I have a consultation scheduled with Dr. Nease on December 28th and I am very excited. I submitted my pictures and got a quote over the phone, they just want me to come in for the consultation to be safe. I am a previous patient of Southern Surgical Arts (I underwent breast augmentation, saline implants, earlier this year) and am very pleased with the results. Dr. Nease is board certified and I have read rave reviews on him. The only problem is that my husband is 100% AGAINST the idea of me getting a nose job. Oh well, it is my body and ultimately the choice is up to me. I have had to live with disliking my nose for years and having been teased for it in school, several photographs ruined because of it, having had to untag myself in candid pictures because I felt so embarassed. My nose is the classic "Jewish nose", that a lot of women in my family got, except on top of it being long and extremely bulbous, it is also extremely crooked and appears to be tilted towards one side of my face. I feel that it is very masculine and de-feminizing and just doesnt fit my face. This is something I have wanted for a long time and I want to go for it! I realize I will probably lose a lot of "friends" and get a lot of flack from family and probably my spouse, but like I said, it is my choice, my happiness, and my decision! Updated on 2 Jan 2013: Not going to go to the same people I had planned on - they cancelled my consultation because I am pregnant and they said the cost could change because I will be going to have the surgery after the baby is born... Also they said I would have to wait 6 months to have the surgery... That is not true because the standard wait time is more like 3 months plus I am not breastfeeding, also I am not getting anything done below the neck. Many thanks would be given for any and all suggestions of good reputable board certified plastic surgeons who do rhinoplasty in TN, GA, and AL... was thinking about going to Dr Salzhauer in Miami until I read a horrifying review on him. Updated on 28 Apr 2015: My surgery is scheduled and in 2 weeks (may 12th) dr Brocato performs the septoplasty to fix my severely deviated septum, then Dr Durst will perform his magic on the rhinoplasty portion to hopefully fix the crookedness, hump, huge bulbous tip, and lack of a "ski slope". I am hoping I don't have to have any revision rhinoplasty and that this helps with my sinus problems too. Updated on 9 Jun 2015: I had my surgery on May 12th 2015 at the Surgery Center of Huntsville. Dr Brocato (ENT) did the septoplasty first and then Dr Durst did an open tip rhinoplasty. I had my bulb made smaller, septum straightened which made my nose straighter, and bump removed. All in all for all the challenges my nose presented they did an extremely good job and my breathing is 100% improved! Some days the swelling is worse than others and I need to stop picking at it (the sutures that are supposed to dissolve keep trying to fall out), so I have to focus on the end result which could take up to a year to see.

I'm getting sientra 350cc high profile. Pre op is 32/34 a.. Flat. I've never had a bra properly fit so not really sure. I'm getting nervous and wondering what y'all got for scars and if you did anything prior to surgery to avoid stretch marks. I'm hoping for a full c cup but anything will be better than what I have now.Updated on 12 Jul 2016: Here's a before pic, which I was extremely hesitant about posting.. I'm 5'3 and around 140 pounds. My chest is pretty narrow so I think the high profile implants are going to be nice. I've been wanting to do this for so long and now it's finally happening and I am NERVOUS!!

I've had hollow under eyes for several years. Also lately my upper lids have sagged down pretty bad too. I tried tightening things up with a Co2 laser, which was great while it was swollen but everything dropped down again once swelling was gone. My surgery is one month from tomorrow. Reading the reviews and experiences of others on this site has been so helpful to me, so I'm going to document my surgery experience on here. Starting the countdown today!!! Here are some pics of my eyes without makeup and also with makeup. Looking at these makes me even more sure that I want this done and I pray that I will have good and wonderful results!!! Updated on 2 Jun 2016: I go Monday June 6 for my pre-op appt and to pay in full!! I'm nervous and scared but also hopeful that I will have good results. I trust Dr. Durst and saw his book of facial and eye work and it's really good and natural looking. I actually hope that he is aggressive enough cuz I don't want to have to do this again anytime soon!! I took these in the car this morning and I'm so sure about having this done and I'm ready!!! Updated on 5 Jun 2016: So I went to the couch with my tablet and my puppy. I've read people mention Dr. Meronk and a guide or site that he has, even though he is retired now, so I found and purchased it. Read for over 2 hours, then fell asleep again. I'm so relieved because everything he says is pretty much what Dr. Durst said during my consult. I'm feeling way better about this now. I highly recommend getting this guide if you're considering blepharoplasty anytime in the near future!!! And I will be setting myself up in the guest room for recovery!!! And when I'm all healed, a certain hubby is going in for a sleep study!!! His snoring is getting worse and worse!! :( Updated on 20 Jun 2016: I'm scheduled for Monday June 27, one week from today. Actually I should be getting out of surgery about this time of day. I'm supposed to be there at 7:00 am and they said it would take about 4 hours. I'm really nervous now!!! Getting a knot in my stomach every time I think about it, which is every minute of the day the closer we get to June 27. You know how when you schedule a hair cut, and on the day of the appointment your hair looks amazing so you second guess even going for the cut?? Yeah, that's where I am right now. I took a selfie just laying in bed yesterday morning and thought, "my eyes don't look that bad!! What am I doing here?" Just wondering if this how everyone else feels as your date gets closer?? It was not till I went in for my pre-op appt ( at which they immediately took my payment as soon as I walked in the door), then in the pre-op instructions, they tell me "oh by the way, your eyelids will be sewn shut for the first day, night, and part of the next day." And it will be wrapped tight with gauze and bandages. I am extremely claustrophobic and don't know if I can do this without having a panic attack and ripping the gauze and bandages and possibly hurting myself and my eyes!!! Why would they not mention this extremely important detail up front??? I'm literally throwing up sick because my surgery is scheduled for Monday, June 27, the day after tomorrow. I called Care Credit to dispute and they notified doctor office and they told me even if they don't get the payment from care credit, they will pursue my with a collection agency for the 50% of the total charges which is the cancellation penalty. So I would be out $4,000 for nothing!! Need to make a decision today or tomorrow. Any advise!??? I can't even ride elevators due to claustrophobia. Updated on 28 Jun 2016: Surgery was almost 5 hours, but I had pretty extensive lipo on tummy and flakes too. They did stitch my eyelids together and bandaged them up really well with what felt like duct tape!!! This morning I got the bandages off andcmyceyes unstitched and I can see really well!! Get the rest of stutches out Friday. Feeling pretty good right now and headed back to Nashville!!! Will update more later :) Updated on 29 Jun 2016: These stitches are itching like crazy!! Does that mean I'm healing?? I've been doing the peroxide on q-tip cleaning, using the antibiotic ointment and cool compress every few hours. My right eye is really swollen and itches more than left eye. It finall occurred to me to take some Benadryl and am currently waiting for that to kick in. Eyes feel very tight also. Does this swelling look typical for day 2? At least I'm able to move today!! Yesterday after being in the car for 2 hours coming home I think I got stiff or something because when I laid down, I could not get back up without my husband helping me!! My everything hurt!!! Legs were SO sore like I had climbed 100 flights of stairs, arms and shoulders were sore, even my jaws were so sore it was hard to chew??? With all the drama I had last minute with my surgery there's no telling what they did to me ;). Nah, they were actually really good to me. And the little guy who put me to sleep was so sweet and cute!! I told him about my extreme fear of needles and that I was dreading the IV, and he put a little numbing shot in my hand so I never even felt the IV go in!! I go back Friday and get stitches out and hopefully drain will be removed. How in the world can I take a shower?? I'm not supposed to get this drain wet, but I will have to shower before Friday!! Any suggestions?? Updated on 30 Jun 2016: I feel way less soreness all over today!! Still drinking lots of lemon water, wearing compression stockings, putting the antibiotic ointment on eyes, moving around, and taking Benadryl hopefully to ward off the itching I had yesterday. That was BAD!! Stitches come out tomorrow!! I took these pics with the flash on. Today is day 3. Updated on 30 Jun 2016: My eyes have been swollen so bad underneath, but I did start the Arnica pellets, Arnica gel, and Bromeline right after surgery. Everything was blown up like red balloons until I took a shower today. A few hours later my husband got home and said wow your swelling is almost gone!!! Yayyyy!!! Now if the bruising will go that quick. And please oh please I hope I'm not still hollow underneath my eyes. Doc said he would do his best and I believe in his work, so I just need to be more patient. Anyway here are pics of the incredible shrinking red balloons :) Updated on 2 Jul 2016: So I went to get my stitches out yesterday. They only took out the "running stitches" and not the big ones. I have to go back Tuesdat to get the rest out. As it turns out, the reason I had so much itching is they think I'm allergic to the antibiotic ointment I had been using on my eyes :(. I haven't used any since yesterday morning befor my appt and I think I'm finally starting to heal?? Updated on 2 Jul 2016: Forgot to put a pic of eyes closed. Well almost closed, my right eye doesn't close all the way yet. Doc has me patching my eyes at night with these oval shaped bandages and taping it tight. I did that last night and it did seem to help. Updated on 3 Jul 2016: So this is what I have on day 6 post-op. I think upper lids are looking great and will continue to get better. Lowers, it's still hard to tell because of the remaining swelling and bruising, but I'm hopeful they will be great too!! :) I just hope they are not hollow underneath when this all settles down, and I hope enough excess skin was removed. What I do have right now that doc explained but I just started to see it, is this strand of muscle pulled across under my lower lashes and tacked to outer orbital bone. It looks like a rubber band stretched underneath my lower lashes. Doc said this is "over corrected" right now, but it will relax back down into a normal position soon. I'm optimistic and think my eyes are gonna look great, both upper and lower :) Updated on 3 Jul 2016: Pics from the side to show outer lid margins :). I'm ready for the bruising to be gone!! And eyes closed to show how well incision is healing!! Updated on 5 Jul 2016: I got the rest of my stitches out today and was given the go ahead to return to work tomorrow!! I can wear concealer (doc recommended green concealer to cover bruises) and a bit of foundation, but no eye makeup yet. I go back to see the doc in 2 weeks for him to check healing, then I think it will be a month before I go back again :). I'm excited to see if people at work notice :). And I have to keep wearing the girdle/compression garmet, which I'm fine with but it's quite bulky so dressing will be a challenge :) It has been 8 days ago since my surgery and just 7 days ago that I got the bandages off!!! I think my eyes look good and have healed incredibly fast ! Eyes were way easier than the tummy lipo!! That still hurts!! But my stomach is FLAT now!! With no lumps or dips!!! So excited!!! Updated on 6 Jul 2016: So today is day 9 after surgery and I got all my stitches out yesterday. Today I attempted to put on makeup and go to work. Doc said no eye makeup yet though, so I only have concealer (green covers bruises), foundation and a little blush. Today is the first day I've driven a car and I didnt realize till I was on the road that I'm not quite 100, so no more lane changes for me!!! I was also kind of shaky by the time I got up, showered, did hair and makeup and then drove into downtown. It would have been great to have 3 more vacation days to spare so I could've taken the rest of this week off, but I'm going to the beach on fall break so I need to save as many days as possible. So I'm here at work, not on meds :). I forgot my eye drops though which is a bummer but I'll make it till 5:00 :) For those who've inquired as to whether I told my co-workers the answer is yes, I told them. They know I'm always getting something done, and they know that sometimes it works out good, sometimes not so good :). I figure why try to hide it when something is obviously different about my face :) Here is how I turned out today :) Updated on 6 Jul 2016: Updated on 6 Jul 2016: Even though I forgot my eye drops, I made it through the day at work!! I had ordered some "fake" glasses to hide behind while still in the recovery phase, and they served me well today!! And tomorrow I will not forget my eye drops!! I must say that I am pretty tired after my first full day back at work. It'll be an early night for me tonight :) Updated on 7 Jul 2016: I still have a little bit of bruising and some swelling under my eyes, especially in the mornings, but so far I am thrilled!!! This is today, 10 days post-op. Updated on 7 Jul 2016: I still can't believe what a good job Dr. Durst did!! This is exactly what I had hoped my results would look like!! Updated on 11 Jul 2016: I knew not to get too excited too soon but it was hard not to by the way things were looking. But, just like in the past with other procedures (Co2), one the swelling goes down, that horrible lump of filler is popping back out, as well as the bags under my eyes. I give up!! Updated on 11 Jul 2016: The swelling did go down quite a lot today. On the way home at stop lights I tried to capture that lump of filler in a pic. I think I go it. It's under right eye and is more of a circular puffy spot. I go back on July 18 so will just have to ride the roller coaster till then!! Updated on 14 Jul 2016: So I woke up today with these big bags under my eyes. I know part of it is from crying about my dog. I wonder if it's always gonna do this when I cry?? Thank goodness for my fake glasses!! I'm anxious to hear what doc has to say when I go back on July 18 for follow up. Updated on 15 Jul 2016: Today is day 18 days post-op. Bags are smaller today. Updated on 23 Jul 2016: So my precious chihuahua passed away on July 18, 2016. He just got sick and went downhill really fast, within the past 3 weeks or so. And July 18 happened to be my follow up appt with Dr. Durst. I had cried off and on the entire week before, when my regular vet couldn't fix my baby and just kept doing subcutaneous fluids and antibiotics with no solid answer. I cried a lot. And on Monday July 18 my appt wasn't till 3:00 so we took Pepper to a specialist bright and early that morning. They took him back for testing and we waited and waited. At 12:30 I had to leave Nashville to get to Huntsville on time for my appt. I was almost there when I got the call that Pepper had a tumor on his spleen and he needed a blood transfusion before they could even attend surgery to remove the tumor. And she said 90% of the time, especially in older dogs like him, it would be cancerous and if he survived the surgery, he'd need chemo after, and he might make it one more year at the most due to his age. A decision had to be made and it broke my heart to lose him, but we let him go and I thought I would cry my eyes right out of my head!! So I went into my appt with huge bags under my eyes and everything all swollen and he first said the swelling might be Malar or Festoons but then the nurse told him about my dog (I couldn't tell him without losing my [RS bleep] and crying again during my appt) and he said oh, I'm sorry, but in that case it's probably just swelling. I've them he said, massage the scars, drink lots of fluids, and get moving to flush everything out. Tummy lipo looked good to him and I'm also pleased with it. That's a separate review. But anyway, today is the first day I've made it without crying uncontrollably, so I wanted to take a few pics and see how much damage I've done. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised!! I have zero makeup on in these pics. I go back in 5 weeks for after pics. Updated on 26 Jul 2016: Just looking back at pics from a month or so before the surgery and one month after. Saturday I thought my eyes were looking great, but then Monday I had swelling.... Trying not to get discouraged with lowers. Updated on 28 Jul 2016: I've tried to show in pics what my areas of concern are with lowers... Updated on 5 Aug 2016: Today I'm smiling... Who knows about tomorrow?? This lower lid thing is like a very very long car trip... Some days I feel like I'm headed to the beach, some days I feel like I'm headed to the dump!! Updated on 16 Aug 2016: So anyone who has read any of my reviews knows I got some filler under my eyes in 2012. At the time I thought it was Juvederm but turns out it was Restylane. Every procedure I've had to try and tighten my lower kids has been foiled by these balls of swelling that refuse to go away. I went back to the doctor (a very highly regarded oculoplastic surgeon here in Nashville) and he did 3 dissolving shots. Must have been minute doses...and his technique must have been poor. I did see a very small improvement, but he did not. Said it was my anatomy. Fast forward to my upper/lower Blepharoplasty. As the swelling went down everything was looking good, then it got down to ONLY the balls/bags where filler has always been, and those areas remained swollen!!! This has been going on for 4 years of my life!!! Fretting over these bags under my eyes that I was convinced were and are filler. And last Friday my theory was confirmed. I have been trying to find someone to dissolve this filler, whatever the cost. One phone call changed my life!!! I found myself in the hands of an experienced RN at another PS office, and in half an hour my bags/balls of filler were almost gone!!! She wanted to start slow, which was fine by me!! I was just glad to finally find someone who believed me that it was filler still under my eyes after 4 years!!! What she did in half an hour is nothing short of a miracle for me!!! These 2 pics were taken the same day. And I am SO grateful to this wonderful nurse!!! And I'm SO very disappointed in the original injector and those after him who said it could not be filler!! Updated on 9 Oct 2017: Here is my official before and after from the doc. Not drastic but I knew that going into the surgery.
