RealSelf Dr. Spotlight Waitlist Policy - Effective June 9, 2017

THIS POLICY ONLY PERTAINS TO DR. SPOTLIGHTS WHICH HAVE RECENTLY COME AVAILABLE ON THE WAITLIST.

The goal of the waitlist policy is to create a fair opportunity for all waitlist doctors when their desired Dr. Spotlight comes available and to reward the doctor with the most content within the featured treatment for the best consumer experience.

  • When a Dr. Spotlight becomes available, the doctor with the highest Waitlist Score (WS)* will be notified by email. The notification will include general information about the available Dr. Spotlight.

  • If interested, the doctor must contact their Doctor Community Advisor within 48 hours to accept the available Dr. Spotlight.

  • If the doctor who is being notified chooses to pass on the available Spotlight or if all available Spotlight Views are not taken by accepted quote, the next highest Waitlist Score doctor will be notified and have 48 hours to contact their Doctor Community Advisor and sponsor any remaining Spotlight Views. This process will continue until all available Spotlight Views have been sponsored.

  • A “Quote Accepted” notification will be sent to confirm the acceptance waitlist quotes for new sponsorships.

The waitlist policy is not a first come, first served policy: waitlist position will be determined by the relative “Waitlist Score (WS)” of all doctors currently on the waitlist for the available Dr. Spotlight.

*RealSelf is not responsible for bounced email notifications or other email issues.  Doctors should work with their advisor to confirm the correct contact information is on file for the waitlists.  Only doctors on the waitlist prior to the open availability will be ranked on the waitlist and eligible for notification.

What is the waitlist score (WS) and how is it calculated?

The WS is a dynamic score determined by the following factors:

  • Total contributed answers, reviews, and photos* as shown on the RealSelf doctor profile for the featured treatment.

  • RealSelf Top Doctor & existing sponsor status.

  • Priority consideration for local doctors (within metro area) .

  • Time/duration on waitlist is used as a tiebreaker.

* Only content published at the time the Dr. Spotlight becomes available will be included in the waitlist score calculation.

HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR WAITLIST PRIORITY POSITION?

When consumers click on a Dr. Spotlight, they expect to see relevant content on the doctor’s profile. For this reason, your Waitlist Score (WS) will be improved by the quantity of content on your profile for the relevant treatment. Content will typically impact your Waitlist Score with the following priority: 1) Answers 2) Reviews and 3) Photos.

In addition, your status as a RealSelf Top Doctor, current Sponsor (PRO or Dr. Spotlight) and local doctor will also influence your WS.

Can you tell me my Waitlist Score (WS) and how I currently rank against the rest of the waitlist?

The Waitlist Score is currently not available for doctor review. You can increase your waitlist priority position by focusing your activities on your most valued treatments, building your PRO profile and Dr. Spotlight in available treatments, and by achieving Top Doctor status.
