I had upper eyelid surgery 20 yrs ago, age 40, for ptosis. All went well, scars near invisible. But now I think it needs doing again and maybe the lower lids too? I have seen an Oculoplastic surgeon, who feels only the upper lids need doing. To remove 10mm of excess skin and trim the fat pads in the upper nasal area. He says to look at skin tightening options for the lower lid with laser or CO2 etc. It is the lower lids that bothers me most, having slight festoons now. Opinions appreciated.
Id like recommendations for my lower eyelids as I dont see a lot of results for patients with similar undereyes. Ive always had the undereye fat pads or rolls, but the hollowness underneath has become more apparent (lack of sleep, etc). I am 31 and would hope to achieve a long lasting solution. Thank you.
A surgeon suggested that I get fat repositioning for my lower eyes, despite not having puffy eye bags (I only have hollowness in the tear trough) - My concern is that removing the little bit of fat that I have directly under my eye will make that area appear sunken. When the fat pad is moved from the area directly under the lid for filling tear troughs, will it possibly cause a deficiency in the area it was removed from?
I am a 50 y/o F with prominent fat pads/ eye bags that have been even Recently the right side seems to have enlarged and dropped much lower. I'm not sure why or what is happening, it is very sudden and not responding to ice packs.Any insight or advice would be appreciated
A Board-certified, Ivy League-educated oculoplastic surgeon advised that he does not do fat pad repositioning for any patients. Period. He excises the fat pads, and if residual deficits remain, the patient can receive hyaluronic acid fillers. Can I please ask why, in 2024, a surgeon would be against repositioning? Is there still a body of evidence to suggest that it has a high complication rate?
I am 50 years old getting a lower facelift and want to address the lower eyes . I got one doctor saying a lower blethoplasty with fat reposition and another recommending periorbital fat injections. Im worried about fat injections but I dont see where a blethoplasty would works because I dont see fat pads to reposition on me. at the same time. What would be your recommendations
Hello, My under eye fat pads have started bulging out in the last two years and it bothers me. Based on these photos, am I a candidate for lower blepharoplasty, or is it not yet indicated? If I am not a candidate would fillers be an option? Thank you
How can I enhance it w/my fat pads being like this? My eyebags are definitely genetic. My father has it. I want to enhance my lower lid muscle (ocularis). What is the best way that is not using surgery? Can enhancing it diminish the puffiness of my lower eyebag? Can I reposition my fat pad to make my ocularis plumper? Is it puffiness or hollowness?
When I smile or laugh, my under eye pads are very uneven (very prominent under my right eye and Id like it to match my left), and Im wondering the best cosmetic procedure to correct this? Is Botox sufficient or would lower bleph fat repositioning be the best (or something else)? See photos when I have no expression, when I slightly smile, and when I smile intently.
