Having high risk for breast cancer I decided to do an elective mastectomy and hence, reconstructive surgery. Dr. Ng made me feel comfortable from the first office visit, through the surgery day, to the follow up visit after the surgery. Never once was I worried or confused about anything. She fully explained the surgery and recovery process. Her office staff submitted claims to insurance. Although the claims were denied, the staff and Dr. Ng tried their best to get them covered. In the end, the insurance didn't cover the "cosmetic part" (the reconstruction part,ie: Dr. Ng's part), BUT Dr. Ng worked with my breast surgeon to move the mastectomy / reconstructive surgery from a hospital setting that cost $70K+ to the outpatient surgery center which saved me 80%. She even had to buy new equipment to make this happen. My second surgery to remove the expanders and add final implants was smooth and quick, plus they look amazing - Dr. Ng is so very talented. She understood that I didn't want to have huge or little implants and worked with me to find the right size for my frame and mind! I am extremely happy! Finally, her compassion was invaluable throughout this journey, especially on surgery days! Her explanation of what to expect was reassuring and pragmatic. I will be going back to Dr. Ng in the near future for other (more fun) procedures.
I was worried when other surgeons wouldn't touch the cyst on my wrist because it was right on the artery. Dr. Ng came highly recommended and I gotta say, wasn't highly recommended enough. Her expertise and experience made this feel like it was a cake walk, her bedside manner makes you feel like a person. The surgery went off without a hitch thanks to her and her staff, the response time to follow up questions through the after care process was prompt even though I can imagine how busy she must be. Her knowledge base quells even the most left field questions I had about this, and her warm attitude made me feel welcomed to ask such questions. I'm healing very quickly, and the scaring is minimal. Thank you so much Dr. Ng!
I am 6 weeks out from my breast reduction and am very happy with the results. I am in my 50's and was hesitant to undergo a breast reduction but after getting steadily bigger as I aged, I decided to go through with it. Dr. Ng made me feel comfortable with my choice, did a fabulous job making me look more proportional, and surgically her work was excellent! It was important to me to have a woman perform this surgery and her overall friendly straight-forward personality, quick response to questions via email that she answered herself, and her excellent skill solidified the choice I made to have her be my surgeon. The process from beginning to end was seamless.
Honestly, I don't even have the words to describe how much I love and appreciate Dr. Ng and her team. I recently am recovering from breast reduction/ lift and panniculectomy. As with any surgery I was nervous. I had a gastric sleeve done back in April of last year and lost 140lbs. I was referred to Dr. Ng for the lift and removal of extra skin. From the moment I walked in the office I was greeted and welcomed with warm smiles and open arms. I had so many thoughts and questions and would constantly go back and forth in my head to the point where I was brought to tears, But Dr. Ng made sure that I was comfortable and answered any question I had, reassured me of any doubt I felt, and no matter how many times I asked questions or wanted reassurance, she answered every one of them and reassured me every time with the utmost grace. I am almost two weeks out and healing beautifully. If I had to do it all again I'd choose her every single time. Thank you Dr. Ng and thank you to your awesome staff, Especially Liz who is a fricken Rockstar dealing with insurance! You all are amazing!
I went to Dr. Wendy Ng for a breast reduction. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon, Dr. Ng did an amazing job. She is talented, sweet, caring, gentle, and a great listener. From the moment she walks into your room, she makes you feel comfortable. Dr. Ng listened to all of my concerns and took note of everything. At the time I was 22 years old so I was very nervous because this was going to be my first major surgery, but she made me feel like I was in good hands. Overall I am extremely grateful to have had her as my surgeon. She made me feel cared for and confident. The procedure: After my consultation everything happened so fast, I had my surgery appointment within 2 months (yay). Dr. Ng brought me down from a 34G (DDDD) to a 34C-D. Immediately I felt a difference on my chest and back. I feel lighter and like I can breathe better. My breasts are no longer heavy and saggy, now they are perky and cute. On top of a breast reduction, I had a benign tumor in my right breast and Dr. Ng managed to remove it. The fact that she was able to remove it takes a huge weight off my shoulders because I would have had to get it checked every 6 months since BC runs in my family. So Dr. Ng is amazing for that because she didn't need to remove it but since she was already opening me up, she gave it a try. After Care: There were two occurrences where I had a few questions regarding my healing process. Instead of going to the office, Dr. Ng got back to me through telephone within a few hours. On the first occasion, when I called the office, the staff told me Dr. Ng was on vacation but if I left my number she would get back to me. And low and behold, Dr. Ng got back to me that same day a few hours later. The fact that she was on vacation and still got back to me to answer my concerns shows what a great Doctor she is. My last visit with Dr. Ng was a bittersweet moment. I'm extremally grateful to have had her as my surgeon. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her.
Dr. Ng is a wonderful surgeon. I had a lumpectomy with reconstruction due to breast cancer. She provided extraordinary service, extremely knowledgeable and more importantly with enormous empathy. She makes herself available more than any doctor I have ever known. I had an issue after surgery while at home at 10.30 pm and emailed her a question. She phoned me within 4 minutes and explained all I needed to know. I am bowled over by her responsiveness and truly amazed at the work she did for me. Frankly, I am not a person who would ever have considered plastic surgery, but she made the experience easy and has amazing sewing skills! Her staff are highly professional, responsive and very friendly. Her office, very close to CHOC, once found, is relaxing yet professional. Given the stress of my cancer diagnosis, the whole experience with Dr Ng, her presence, her natural warmth and her explanation of all that was going to happen, was reassuring and invaluable. I would recommend her without reservation and with total confidence. I am eternally grateful to her.
Great experience the process for the surgery went well DR. Ng is such a awesome DR. She makes sure you are taken care of and wants the best results for you and she is patient I had a ton of questions her work is amazing I’m seeing results A week after my surgery I would highly recommend her
Absolutely the best... I'm a Canadian and flew to have hand surgery done by her. So grateful of her time and skill. Answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. Wouldn't trust any other plastic surgeon.
I would like to start off by saying that Dr. Ng is amazing. My first impression is that she looks very young (LOL) but after reading her Bio and the reviews I felt very comfortable and at ease. Dr. Ng was very welcoming and polite and that for me was a big deal I knew I had made the right decision My insurance company originally referred me to another physician and after reading the reviews I didn't feel comfortable and there was no way that I was going to let this Doctor do my procedure. I had been suffering from pain due to large breasts for years. During my consult, she examined my breasts and advised me that I am a candidate for breast reduction surgery and that by reducing the breast the pain that I had been suffering for years would go away. I was all in after that she didn't try to upsell her services to me, which most Dr's. tend to do. She went over all the pros, and cons of the procedure, and with any surgery where you undergo anesthesia, there are risks. Before surgery, I had some additional questions and called her office and the staff which is also awesome got InTouch with Dr. Ng and she immediately called me back. On the day of my procedure, she came in explained everything that was about to happen. I stayed overnight in the hospital and she came in the next day to check on me and inform me that my surgery went well and I will be very happy with my results. I am only two weeks out and I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend Dr. Ng to anyone who is looking to have cosmetic surgery whether it's medically necessary or self appearance and confidence. Thank you so much, Dr. Ng.
Due to a strange bar-b-que fork accident, I found myself in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange on a Monday. The small puncture wound on my hand had become swollen over the weekend. Dr. Ng fit me into her schedule quickly and performed surgery on the web between my thumb and forefinger to clean out the infection. Dr. Ng checked on me the next morning and I was released. Dr. Ng personally stayed in touch with me on the phone and with email (I sent her pictures each week) to check on my progress. In four and a half weeks the incision has completely healed, and except for a dark spot that was the original puncture, it’s like nothing happened at all. I was lucky to have Dr. Ng as my surgeon in the emergency room. I would highly recommend Dr. Ng to anyone that is planning to have surgery. Thank you Dr. Ng!
Hearing loss is not likely related to Botox in the masseters. You should consider seeing an ear, nose and throat surgeon (ENT surgeon or otolaryngologist) for a physical exam or investigations if this problem persists!
It is difficult to answer this question without photos, but to avoid a "sunken in" look, you may want to discuss the possibility of exchanging the current expander that you have for an implant of approximately that size with your plastic surgeon. While it sounds like your plastic surgeon does not think he or she can make your right breast any larger, having an implant (even if smaller than you would desire) would likely help you avoid the "sunken in" look. Your plastic surgeon may also discuss a balancing breast reduction on the left side to make you look more even. While it sounds like your situation may be relatively unique, these are just some options!
I tell all my patients that it will take one year for scars to reach their final form. Prior to that time, I always recommend that massage helps scar tissue remodel. This allows scars to become flatter and less noticeable. When it comes to scars on the hands over tendons, it is crucial to have occupational hand therapy to help with rehabilitation. Hand therapists help ensure optimal tendon gliding and maximizing range of motion in a safe protected environment for your hand as your scar remodels and matures. Hand therapists will work with you to ensure that your extensor tendon does not become caught up in scar tissue, which could compromise your hand function. Good luck!
Every patient is different in how recovery progresses after tummy tuck surgery. In general, patients need to lay in a beach chair position (with the hips a bit flexed) when in bed for a couple of weeks after surgery and may need to walk hunched over for a couple of weeks after surgery as the skin stretches out to allow for a tight contour over the abdomen to be sustained. An abdominal binder also helps. If drains are used, patients record the outputs of the drains and bring the log to each clinic follow up visit so that we can determine when the drains may be removed. I do not remove both drains in one day, because often a remaining drain's output will increase temporarily shortly after one has been removed. While every individual's pain tolerance differs, with tight re-approximation of the rectus muscles (abdominal muscles), sometimes the abdomen may be quite sore and it can take up to 6-8 weeks to resume more lifting, pushing or pulling. Sincerely, Wendy Ng
