Dr. Mir is an excellent surgeon. He took the time to explain everything to me, was always available and never rushed me out of my appointments. He answered any questions or concerns I had. Alex and his staff are wonderful, kind and extremely helpful. I am very happy with my experience and my results! I highly recommend Dr. Mir.
Dr. Mir did an amazing job on my liposuction procedure. He was very responsive to any questions I had as well as the office staff. I looked better than I ever thought I could and it gave me a lot more confidence. It has been a year and a half now and I have no scars, the incision I did have were pinpoint and are now completely healed. I definitely recommend him! Don’t wait, live is too short- feel comfortable/ love your body while you can.
Dr. Tansar Mir is an excellent doctor! He speaks honestly, clearly about the procedures and patient‘s expectations. He is very nice and straight forward. He answers all your questions. He is meticulous and highly skilled. Like, his other patients have stated, he is stern and your well being is of the utmost importance to him. I highly recommend Dr. Mir and his office. The staff, Alex and Nadia are very nice and very professional as well. Dr. Mir explained everything in detail from the beginning of my surgery to when he discharged me. He’s AMAZING in what he does.
I have been a patient of Dr. Mir’s for the past several years. He is an outstanding surgeon. I have had the best experience and can’t say enough good things about Dr. Mir and his staff. Dr. Mir is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He put my fears at ease. On top of being an amazing doctor he is also extremely nice and easy to talk to. His assistant Alex is professional and a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend Dr. Mir!
I had silicon butt injections 13 years ago in a hotel by an individual with no medical experience. I didn’t start having issues until the last 6-7 years. I had a difficult time sitting on hard surfaces and I also developed digestive issues and issues with my bowels coming out with no warning and excessive diarrhea. I was also tired a lot and just had a general “Not feeling well” daily. I went to numerous doctors and they couldn’t assist me until finally I saw Dr. Mir on Dr. Oz’s show and he discussed silicon removal surgery. I researched him for over a year and then finally I flew to New York for a consultation. He was very nice yet blunt and upfront regarding what I would be facing if I moved forward with this surgery. Finally after about 1 year, I was able to move forward with the surgery. My insurance covered it which was a blessing. I had my first surgery on Dec 2 and the second on Dec 5. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days. I was suppose to leave in 5 days but after the surgery I required a blood transfusion due to my low blood pressure. After I was released from the hospital, my post op care was managed by Dr. Ip, Dr. Mir’s partner. Since I live in California, Dr. Mir was unable to manage by post op care. However, during my weekly appts with Dr. Ip, Dr. Mir is also available via FaceTime for those appts. Dr. Mir has been a blessing and he definitely cares about his patients. Even though this has been physically and mentally difficult, I would do it all over again. I already feel much better and I’m still currently recovering. Dr. Mir and his staff checks on me regularly and I appreciate it. If you ever need to have this particular surgery, Dr. Mir is your guy. He is a great doctor and a great person. He saved my life.
Today is the 20th day since my first surgery for removal of silicone (placed via injections, by non-medical individuals) from the buttocks , which I had placed about 15 years ago. Initially, I did not have any issues with the product, but about 8-9 years ago, I started suffering from lower back pain, pain when I sat on hard surfaces, extreme itchiness in the lower back and buttocks, and it looked as if my bottom was sagging from all the product that I had placed (depending on my attire, sometimes it looked as if i had a diaper on). The procedure has been intense from the pre/post-op, and recovery standpoint. Prior to surgery, I had to complete the following: insurance prior authorizations for both surgeries and hospital stay (5 days in-house), pre-op bloodwork, EKG, chest x-ray, psychiatric consultation (required prior to surgery), and COVID-19 test (3 days prior to surgery). I was cleared for surgery, and on December 2nd the first surgery was performed. About 60% of the silicone was removed in this first round, from the lower back and buttocks area. Also during the surgery a wound VAC was placed. Relief was almost immediate! Although I had some surgical pain, it was nothing compared to the pain and discomfort I was experiencing prior to surgery. My back pain was gone! On December 5th, the second surgery was performed to remove the remaining silicone product. The second surgery was a bit more intense, as four drains were placed and the wound vac remained. Each surgery lasted between 2 to 4 hours, as for pain it was well controlled via medication’s and there were days that I was able to go at least 12 hours without any pain medication. The expectation was to be discharged on December 7th, however, due to an elevated WBC and a low hemoglobin I was discharged on day seven. Prior to being discharge, I did require a blood transfusion (1 unit) due to the low hemoglobin. I was placed on two broad spectrum antibiotics, administered via IV while in the hospital and once discharged I was prescribed two antibiotic pills. In addition to the two anabiotic’s that I take twice a day, I’m also taking daily iron to help with my hemoglobin, and for pain I have now transitioned to Tylenol or Motrin, from Norco. Prior to being discharged, the wound vac was also changed to small portable one; which was removed on 12/10. Discharge Instructions were very specific: unable to sit or lay on by back for more than 4 hours, unable to shower (only sponge bath), and I’m only able to sleep on my sides or tummy (I’m not a tummy sleeper). Follow-ups are weekly, with Dr. Mir’s colleague, Dr. Ip. I see Dr. Ip weekly for wound dressing changes and evaluation of the drains. Hopefully, this week he will be able to remove two drains and within the next week or two the remaining two drains. That’s all for right now, but I’ll continue to document my progress as we move forward. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Mir, although I’m still recovering, I would definitely do it all over again if I had to. Updated on 17 Jan 2023: I am now, six weeks postop, and here is the progress that has occurred. On December 27th my two upper drains were pulled due to irritation. On January 3rd my two, lower drains were pulled partly because my right side drain was coming out, and my left side was barely draining. At this point the risk for infection became much greater than the work the drains were actually doing. At this point, I thought I had turned the corner, the relief from the drains was tremendous. Most importantly, I could finally shower! However, soon after I noticed, my buttocks were accumulating fluid, which led to the development of a seroma. For the past two weeks I have been going in weekly to have the fluid aspirated, initially 290 cc was aspirated and today at my follow up appointment 180cc we’re aspirated. Thank God it’s less fluid than the week prior. In regards to pain and discomfort it is tolerable if not minimal and my energy level is back to about 80%. I’m still on anabiotic’s, iron supplements, and pain pills as needed. Most days I’m okay with Tylenol, Motrin, or nothing at all. Dr. Mir and his staff (Alex in particular) as well as Dr. Ip and his office staff have been very supportive throughout the entire process. Alex has made herself available at all hours, and I truly appreciate her support. As of right now, my only fear is that the seroma I developed will hinder my reconstruction process. It is too soon to tell right now, and I will continue to post updates.
Today makes 26 days exactly since I had my surgery and what a journey it has been . I came to New York back in February where I met Dr Mir. The first thing I like about him he was real he didn’t pretend he was up front about everything he didn’t try too much he just was blunt honest with a lil sense of humor. Am from out of state so he automatically made me understand the commitment I had to have for this procedure. I guess I took the commitment a little lightly but he sure told me now looking back. I had research so many different doctors and I felt a much confidence in knowing that he has the procedure done in a hospital and you have a few days to get back right after surgery. He also does two surgeries which also made me feel more confident about him really trying to get has much possible. He cares about your health and making sure you heal properly. I made my decision right then I knew Dr Mir was the right person for this I felt safe to put my life in his hands. Updated on 17 Sep 2019: My drainage has been my biggest challenge I still have one left and one came out sooner then needed. Had my number 3 follow up today and had to get a needle stuck in me to pull the fluid on the side that drainage came out just like a turkey on thanksgiving. I have so much fluid which is keeping me from going home. I’ve learned that some women have barely any fluids after the first week of surgery. Here I am almost one month in and I still have a lot of fluid. The one I have left really irritating and I can’t wait till it comes out. Other then that all I can do continue to lay down take it easy. Am starting to get a little more feeling in my butt it giggles a little but still have some hardness in crack where it makes it uncomfortable to lay on your back. Overall am happy with procedure Dr Mir did an amazing job . Am a little unhappy about the dog ears but they are not huge still there but not huge. Again everyone different some women get them some don’t. I talk to someone who said hers went away eventually so am hoping mines goes away. Updated on 23 Sep 2019: Today makes it 30 days since I had my surgery and I still have one drainage left that is still flowing heavy. It irritates me it hurts and am so over it. I have my 4 th weekly visit tomorrow with Dr Mir and hopefully I get some good news am ready to go home. Mentally exhausted financially I can’t afford to stay out of states any longer. Surgery is one battle but that recovery process omg on a whole other level. But every one different. Updated on 3 Oct 2019: Had my visit with Dr Mir all my drainage have been removed . But I have some sort of redness spot on my butt he says it’s some type of infection. They drain fluid from both sides to send to lab to see what type of bacteria it could be results takes 2-3 days. My recovery journey has been the hardest. I did everything right I took it easy for 6 weeks took all my medication went to all my visits drained and took care of my drainage properly yet somehow I still have an infection. It’s truly discouraging has I have been away from home for so long . But for my own health safety Dr Mir suggestions were for me to stay here longer to see what’s going on. Ladies every one heals differently and your body can react to the procedure differently so prepare yourself for any trial and tribulations along the ways. Updated on 3 Oct 2019: I had another visit with Dr Mir and he suggested I get admitted to hospital I have an infection and going to hospital would be the safest and best way to get the best help. So here I am . Ladies this why if I regret anything picking Dr Mir for this procedure has been the best decision. Your health by far most important. Much I want to go home I might be checking in for a few days Updated on 12 Oct 2019: After being in New York 52 days . I have to go back and visit dr Mir so hopefully I can get drainage remove.Ladies remember when choosing your doctor make sure you pick a doctor that will care about your health. Because I am proof that recovery can come with complications. Dr Mir has been amazing all though this was a tough journey am glad I choose him. And I still have a little butt. Updated on 21 Oct 2019: Well it’s truly been a journey wore jeans today I must say it was a major difference they don’t fill in like I would like it too but again that’s expected. I still have so much numbness in different area. I still have to give my body time to heal. Am so ready for a fat transfer but I know I’ll have to wait. Overall tho am happy I got this stuff out of me. Now a new journey begins to get my butt looking how I want it to but in a a natural way. Updated on 20 Jan 2022: Well wondering if anyone been through this … my injections removal journey has been real… basically after all the pain of recovery I’m back with the same issue my butt back to being huge back pain leg pain . I’m devastated Updated on 24 May 2022: So I’m looking to get another procedure done definitely need another removal . Thinking of trying a different doctor any thoughts on that ? I’ve been looking around doing research I would like to use a doctor that uses the same cutting method straight across so I don’t get any additional new scars. Updated on 28 Jun 2022: Hey did anyone have to pay upfront of insurance out of network??? Looking to do a second surgery same pain same issues back again but no doctors in my state covers this procedure. So I’m in the situation where I found a doctor but wants to pay upfront until the insurance pays them and I get reimbursed. Anyone had that option done would love input. I’m so discouraged a mistake that I feel won’t let me be
