Dr. Sonia Lamel is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Seattle, Washington, providing all aspects of dermatological care. She believes in a holistic approach, as every aspect of health has an impact on skin. Dr. Lamel is especially well-known for her skilled hand with neuromodulators like Botox and dermal fillers such as Juvéderm, Restylane, and Bellafill.

With advanced training in cosmetic and medical dermatology, Dr. Lamel also has expertise in laser resurfacing, ultrasound and radiofrequency treatments, chemical peels, and other skin rejuvenation procedures. She also has a deep understanding of how skin heals, and she draws on this experience to ease her patients’ recovery process and optimize their results.

Dr. Lamel’s dedication to dermatology grew from her own experience. “When I was in the middle of medical school, I had an incident with skin cancer. I became passionate about the field of dermatology after that,” says Dr. Lamel. “Today, I love seeing patients of all ages and for all skin conditions.”

Dr. Lamel earned her medical degree from St. George University in Grenada before completing an internship in general medicine at Boston University and her dermatology residency at New York Medical College, where she served as chief resident. She went on to become a researcher at both University of California Davis and University of California San Francisco, then joined the faculty at University of Miami for a fellowship in wound care.

Passionate about clinical research, Dr. Lamel has led numerous studies and been published more than 20 times in peer-reviewed dermatology textbooks and journals. She is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Lamel was presented with the Golden Triangle Award by the American Academy of Dermatology for her exceptional work in community outreach and raising awareness of the dangers of skin cancer as a doctor and melanoma survivor.
