Rhinoplasty and Chin Implant

WORTH IT
I had a Rhino & Chin Implant done by Dr. Yoo 3 weeks ago, and wanted to write a review on how AMAZING my results are so far!! The “after” picture was taken 10 days post op. I had pretty much zero bruising on my face (only yellowing around the eye bags) as you can see on the second picture, 3 days post op. Recovery on my nose was a piece of cake - pain was probably a 1 or 2. What did hurt the most was my chin which I would rate a 7 on pain. It was very manageable on meds, but could definitely feel them start to wear off by the 4th or 5th hour (I took 2 pills every 6 hours). It wasn’t pain I couldn’t tolerate, but definitely uncomfortable. I was in a 7 hour car ride home on day 2 and was just fine. Very difficult to eat, however. By the 6th day I felt much better from my chin. At 3 weeks post op, I can finally eat normal & had the burger I’ve been craving! Zero pain, only weird “zig zag” feeling on my chin every once in a while (almost like there’s a little bug crawling inside) which I imagine is due to the nerves reconnecting (my bottom lip won’t budge). I am soooo happy with my results so far, and can only imagine how beautiful the results will be by the 6th month post op. I 100% recommend Dr. Yoo & his staff (nurse Jessie in particular who calmed my nerves the morning of surgery!) and would do it all over again if I had to. It was worth every penny!!!!

How is your recovery going? Any updates?

My recovery is going great! I feel the zings in my chin less often but I’m now 4.5 weeks post op and I can smile again! I still feel a bit of tightness around the chin area when I smile or do any movement with my mouth but it’s not a big deal. The tight feeling is not as bad as it was when I initially wrote my review. My nose is still sensitive when I touch it but not as sensitive as it was. I have no complaints at this point! I do notice my nose seems a bit more swollen when I first wake up and it looks normal after an hour.

Your pictures look great! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm considering moving forward with a rhinoplasty and chin implant with Dr. Yoo but am mostly on the fence about the chin. Do you feel it was worth it and now a couple months out are you happy with the results? Do you have any more before and after photos you might be willing to share?

Hello & thank you! I was sooo on the fence about my chin! I knew I needed it but was nervous as he didn’t have a whole lot of before/after photos of chin implants. I am now 2 months post op & would 100% do it again if I had to go back in time. The incision is still pretty sensitive. If the jacket I am wearing is zipped up high & the collar brushes up against my chin, it stings a little. I noticed that I have a small dimple on my chin now when I smile & was told it will go away. Idk if it really will but I don’t mind as it’s not a big deal to me. The results outweighs the small dimple. I have bumped my chin few times since hitting the 6 week mark which is when I was cleared to do all activities & it felt normal. Unlike the nose which is still extremely sensitive to the slightest pressure! As for the tightness that I was feeling around my chin, I still feel it the most in the morning, and then it goes away pretty quickly. If I do “stretches” with my mouth I can feel some tightness, but not a lot. At this point, my chin feels like my own with the exception of the morning time. I am willing to share pics! I need to figure out if I can add them to my original post. I am unable to post in this comment :( but in short, totally happy with my results!

Picture update

Just wanted to add a quick picture update! The before pic was taken Christmas Day 2017, surgery was December 2018, and this is now 6 months post op. I forget I got my chin done as it feels like my very own! It’s still a little sensitive when I touch certain parts but otherwise looks/feels great! My nose is also amazing, but having issues with breathing from my left nostril. Hoping it’s just swelling inside as the breathing fluctuates throughout the day but is mostly stuffed up :( Other than that, I am so happy with how it looks.
