WOW. What a way to spend international women’s day! I am so relieved that is over. So far, I cannot fault ACC. Anke - has been a massive support to me in the lead up as I have been extremely anxious and emotional about the pain as I have never had surgery before and just didn’t know what to expect. I sat in the admission room crying until Anke came in. Dr Shaz came in before my procedure, he was so positive and answered all my questions. I also commend the nurses and my anaesthetist they were all so supportive as I was having a slight anxiety attack as they were inserting the IV. At present I can see a slight change in my contour already but am very swollen and am leaking ALOT of fluid. I can feel slight discomfort which I describe as aching. Dr Shaz removed 5.5 litres of fat from my inner and outer thighs, lower and upper abdomen and my side flanks.

Today I had my post op appointment as I am from Melbourne and want to fly home. If I’m honest today was awful, that first removal of the garment saw me almost faint and become very light headed and dizzy. I sat there vomiting for a while whilst she cleaned and re dressed my incisions. Little to no bruising which I am surprised about! I’ve stopped taking pain medication as well, it’s really just sore and stiff and I can’t believe how good my recovery has been. No photos yet, it’s still way too early to see any results and I am really swollen so if anything I look bigger but that doesn’t phase me as I know I need to be patient and I know swelling will be persistent for quite a number of weeks and I know not to expect any significant results for a couple months! I’ve received a few messages asking about results but please know liposuction isn’t instant! It takes time for skin to shrink back! Again I am so happy it’s my overall experience at ACC!

So far recovery for me has been a breeze! Sure, I have been a bit stiff, slow and sore but it’s honestly fine. Today is the first day I can actually walk properly without waddling, every day is getting easier. I can also finally sleep on my stomach and side, it’s a bit sore initially when I get into position but once I’m there and settled it’s comfy! I took my garment off for a shower after 4 days po and to wash my garment, I tried to put some Spanx on but they were just too tight they didn’t have zips so it hurt too much putting them on so I was without my garment for a couple of hours and that’s when all the bruising started to show. The bruising looks worse than it feels. I also noticed the right side of my labia was very enlarged and purple, I was a little concerned so I contacted the nurses but they said it’s all fine, it’s just because the inner thigh area is so close and the bruising has travelled down. It doesn’t hurt at all though. I am due to have my stitches out tomorrow, I must say my stomach is super itchy and dry, which is a sign the incisions are healing, so happy days. I’ve included my before photo alongside a photo I took this morning wearing my garment, I still feel it’s way too early to see results given I am still so swollen but I do feel I can see a slight change in my contour already and my stomach is definitely flatter.

Can’t believe I’m 2 weeks post op today! I was told not to expect to see my results for at least 6 weeks but I have already noticed a significant change in the shape of my body. I’m still pretty swollen, and numb in the areas treated. I’ve had a reaction to the adhesive from one of the band aids on my stomach. So far I’m not noticing any unevenness or any bumps or anything. Incisions are healing really well, I started using dermascar on them yesterday. Skin is still also really dry in areas treated. I go back to work on Sunday after 2 weeks off. I feel back to normal and I have for many days now except when I take my garment off to wash it I feel really weird and heavy. Still tender to touch but overall I’m pleased with my result so far.

Swelling has gone down now and bruising to inner thighs has subsided! Absolutely loving my new shape. It still feels weird when I hav my compression garment off. Skin is very dry and peeling, I’m assuming this is from the heat from the laser! Still numb to touch in treated areas. Area around my belly button is the mot sensitive and a bit sore to touch. Incisions healing really well! Loving my new shape however still early days and still hoping for more result in the thigh area.
