Dr Boutros is hands down the best surgeon I’ve ever worked with. I’ve never met with any doctor that sat down with me to get to know ME, my life and my story before asking about procedures I want. He’s warm, loving and honest. My pre-op was so thorough, SO thorough - I felt fully prepared for surgery and recovery. My surgery was difficult and went much longer than it was scheduled to and he showed up at the hospital at 3:00am the morning after just to check on me. The surgical center and staff was also amazing. I plan to go there for my next solo vacation to get pampered :). I’m telling you Dr Boutros is brilliant and worth every penny. He’s my surgeon for life. (For reference these were my procedures: explant, tummy tuck, deip flap procedure, liposuction)
I had my implants exchanged and a breast lift with Dr. Boutros in February 2022. My left nipple placement was too high, and correcting this was a major motivator for me. Dr. B not only corrected it, but he went above me beyond. I'm so excited about the outcome, no I'm patiently waiting for my full results.
I think Dr. Boutros is a miracle worker. He and Dr. Erika Sato took the Mentor Silicone implants out of me that I got when I had breast cancer last year. The implants were hurting me. I guess you've all seen the t-shirt that said "My boobs tried to kill me!" We'll my boobs, and then my implants did the same thing. Dr. Boutros suggested stacked flap surgery to build up the area of my chest that was scraped down to nothing. I really wanted to say no, but I had such pain from nerves firing off all the time that I said yes. (I was being a chicken, because I knew it was going to hurt.) Well let me say that his idea may go down in history as one of the best choices I've made. I no longer have that nerve tingling constantly. I also look more like myself without my rib bones sticking out on one side. The doctors took flesh from my abdomen and from my thighs to do this surgery. It is a lot of surgery. It took them many hours. The result...having something to compare it to from the implants of last year...are nothing more than miraculous. I do not have that hot/cold feeling, I look more like myself, and I don't have that tingling nerve issue that I did all last year with the implants. I do have lots of scars, but my daughter-in-law saw them this week (she's an oncology Child Nurse Practitioner). At four weeks she said they were some of the best looking scars she'd seen. She also predicted that you would not notice them this time next year. Finally, I'd like to say that had I chosen another surgeon, I probably would have come out with just one new breast. I had some issues with veins (like they had trouble getting the IV in that morning.) I should have at least asked is this a bad sign. I didn't and we rocked on. Dr. Boutros and Dr. Sato worked on me until I have two beautiful breasts...long after they should have said I'm really tired...let's go home. I know people that have been told - well that surgery failed. We'll try again when you're ready. Thank God - and I do mean that - and thank you Dr. Boutros for being a godly man that didn't leave me in a mess. I'm so very grateful and pleased with my outcome! Finally - I'm not going to lie and say it was fun. It was not. But a lifetime of pain with the implants vs. a few weeks with this flap surgery. I'm really glad I had this done. May God richly bless this fine and highly skilled surgeon.
I went to Dr. Boutros for a breast augmentation and have a Fraxel laser treatment on my face for my acne scars. I couldn’t be happier with the results. He is very knowledgeable, takes the time to listen and talk to you. Dr. Boutros and his awesome team made me feel very comfortable and at ease during the entire process. I would recommend Dr. Boutros to a stranger and have already recommended him to my family, friends and co-workers. You are in wonderful hands with Dr. Boutros!
I was a 35 year old mom of two young kids diagnosed with breast cancer. Had to have a single left breast mastectomy with tissue expander in November, 2016 and had reconstruction in April, 2017. During reconstruction surgery, I decided to have an prophylactic (elective) mastectomy on my right side with immediate reconstruction. I have a lean, athletic build and was told by another plastic surgeon that he could only do one breast and may have to use my back muscle to reconstruct. That's where I decided to interview Dr. Boutros - he gave me far better options and was extremely confident while at the same time incredibly sensitive to what I was going through. He used my DIEP (belly) fat to reconstruct one breast and my inner thigh fat (stacked PAP flaps) to reconstruct the breast where I had an elective mastectomy. The end result was amazing. My breasts feel real (unlike hard implants) but look more like when I was 18 years old as opposed to a 35 year old mom of two! My stomach is completely flat, and my thighs look thinner and more attractive than they were before. The first two weeks following the surgery were very painful and difficult but once I got my surgical drains out I felt much better and continue to feel better each day. Also, from what I understand most plastic surgeons don't offer the PAP flap (inner thigh fat) as an option for reconstruction because it's highly technical -- my oncologist team said they had never seen anyone who had had this procedure in their career and had never seen such amazing results. The other thing I would highlight is how well I was taken care of. I never felt scared or nervous because Dr Boutros is so confident in what he does -- you just feel like you are in the absolute best of hands. His staff members are also extremely professional, kind, and always respond to you in a very timely manner. If you are in the market for breast reconstruction, Dr Boutros is the absolute best in my opinion.
Dr. Sean Boutros has changed my life in the best way possible! I've always struggled with my weight and have been on a 5 year weight loss journey....my consultation appointment I asked if I need to lose more weight before we do this? His answer was no I had so much excess skin that no amount of exercise or diet was going to get that to go away. He did an extended tummy tuck and extended arm lift with lipo. I cannot be happier! Surgery was easy, recovery has been easy, best decision I have ever made. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Boutros from the bottom of my heart....you gave me a new life and I will always be grateful to you!
All my life I was skinny and flat and after three children, even more so! After wanting to get a breath aug for 18 years, I finally decided to go through with after seeing great results from a friend of mine. I did a lot of research and finally settled on Dr. Sean Boutros in Houston. He will also being doing my orgnathic surgery in a few months, so it is nice to have already established a relationship with him and his staff. He has a great bedside manner and truly loves what he does. He also tends to err on the conservative side which was important to me as I did not want to look 'fake'. He examined me and after listening to the look I wanted, recommend the 270cc Mentor Mod Plus anatomicals in 'Tall'. I had a lot of presurgery anxiety as I had never been put completely under and was terrified of being nauseous and vomiting upon waking up. The nurse and anesthesiologist put me at ease and assured me they would keep meds on board to prevent nausea. They brought me to the sx suite, late me down and it was lights out! I woke up to them lifting me up and saying I was all done. I was coherent enough to ask.for anti-nausea meds through my IV (even though I wasn't nauseous) and they happily obliged. They got me in a wheelchair and asked if I was in pain and I told them.no, just felt tight. I was fine on the drive home, just dizzy and a little tired, but no pain. I didn't even really start to feel sore until late that night and the next day. The worst part for me was having to sleep reclined and on my back....it gave me excruciating back pain...however, keep in mind I refused pain meds and the muscle relaxers (I don't do well with narcotics as they tend to make me sick) so I probably made it a little harder on myself than necessary. The first 3 days were the toughest due to be sore, back pain and lack of arm mobility. I actually started driving again on day 5 (drove myself to my post op) and that ended up making me REALLY sore that afternoon and night and I also had a bunch of bruising pop up on my left side. Call my doc to make sure it was nothing to be concerned with and they had me send a pic and then assured me that it was normal, especially with as much as they had to manipulate me in surgery. I am now about 2 and half weeks out and things are SO much better! They have started to drop some and soften, which is nice and I can now raise my arms above my head with only a slight twinge. They are also starting to feel more like a part of me and less like two rocks sitting on my chest....well, except in the morning (oh, the morning boob!). I am definitely getting excited about my final result, especially since I went to VS the other day and the only bras that fit were the 32DD (Wha...!!!). If you are considering doing this, all I can say is 'Go for it!'....I am really starting to feel confident about my body and actually feel like a grown woman! Yay!! Updated on 31 Aug 2015: This coming Thursday will mark 4 weeks since my surgery and thinks have goiter so much better! I only have the occasional twinge, usually in my arm pit area if I stretch my arm to quickly. I would say 80% of the tightness feeling as gone away and I have moments of not feeling tight at all. Unfortunately, I am still getting morning boob, but it dominoes quickly once I get up and start moving around. I still sleeping on my back as I haven't found side sleeping very comfortable since I still have some bruising down the sides of my ribcage. Per doctor instructions, I have not worn a bra nor massage AT ALL. I have noticed that they have dropped some. My right has dropped a little more than my left and is starting to slowly take on a rounder shape towards the base. They have also started to get softer....mainly on the sides and the bottom, but still have a firm feel if I real grip them. Everyday has been a gradual improvement and I am still very happy with my shape, size and placement. Can't wait to see what changes the next 4 weeks bring!! :) Posted some current pics. Updated on 22 Sep 2015: Hi everyone! I am now 7 weeks post and I am feeling so much better! Morning boob has basically stopped (woohoo!) and I have gotten the all clear from Dr. Boutros to resume normal activity. I think they have dropped as much as the are going to, but they still need to fluff and soften more. They are way softer than when I started, but are still kinda firm feeling and there is very little movement (jiggliness). Dr. B told me not to wear a bra post op and I am still not in hopes of expediting the fluffing process. I feel like they are the perfect size for me and I don't look fake. I posted some current pics and promise I will get my 'befores' up. Hope everyone is doing well!! Updated on 25 Sep 2015: I was a 32A/AA before. .. Updated on 8 Dec 2015: So I am officially 4 months out from my surgery and I LOVE them still. They have really started to settle into a natural position and are getting really soft. They have done wonders for my confidence. Clothes are so much more fun now!
Since I've had my TT, I've had several friends that had them and I have to say that I got the best results from Dr. Boutros for the TT of anyone I know. My friend also used him after seeing my results and she is happy too. I think he pulls the muscles really tight, which in the long term is best. I remember not being able to stand straight for a very long time, especially at the end of the day. But it's totally worth it. My stomach went from dreadful to amazing. The scar is completely gone. I have had several surgeries with him and the Tummy tuck was by far my best one. Each doctor has their "thing" that they want to be known for and although he may not pick this procedure, I believe the procedure picked him. Very Happy years later. Best surgery I ever had. I'm guessing at the procedure cost because it was a long time ago and I had another surgery at the same time.
I spent months deciding to do this. I did not want big boobs! I play tennis and I did not want them effecting my activity at all. It was just time for me to fill my boobs back up after nursing two boys. I went in to see Dr. Boutros about 6 months before having it done. After the visit I decided to wait. Then bathing suite season started to come around and I was not filling out my swimsuits. There was a concave area above my breast. That is what finally got to me. Also, before having my kids I was a 34C and when I had them I went all the way up to a 38 DDD. YIKES! Well, I lost all my baby weight and more and I think a ton of it was in my boobs. That is why I did it. Dr. Boutros answered all of my questions. Even the silly ones. Meg his nurse was great about answering my emails and I was able to see pictures of other patients at his office. The big struggle I had was on the size. Dr. Boutros first suggested 300cc and said with my body type I would have no problems with 325cc's even. I was scared so I was thinking 250cc. Over six months I debated and debated size. Finally, I printed off pictures of boobs I liked and showed them to him. He told me the pictures that I was showing him were 300-350's. So, I decided to go with his original suggestion of 300cc's under the muscle. I am really glad I listened to him but man did I obsess over making that decision. I was suggested him after I noticed a friend of mines boobs that looked awesome. For about three weeks I kept asking myself, are those real? Finally I asked her and she was more than happy to tell me all about him and even about some of his other clients that I knew but I did not know that they had had work done. He is great. Updated on 9 May 2014: The first picture was from last summer and the current one is 6 weeks after surgery. I am happy. I have started working out again. I started slow because my pecs have always been tight and they really are now. At four weeks, I started hitting 15 minutes a day. (I could get no pop on the ball) Week 5 I upped it to 30 minutes a day and there was a drastic change in pace and pop on the ball. I am know at 6 weeks. I played my first set and won 6-0. Yay! Updated on 30 Jul 2016: Yep, that is right. They looked great but they did not feel great. I would get twinges at night while sleeping and I started getting headaches and neck pain. I was sad to let them go bc they really looked great but they were just not for me
What motivated me to undergo this procedure 1st - was looking in the mirror and sseing the tranformation my body had undergone after 4 children - and no it was not a good one!! - ladies you know what it does to our bodies - I would never trade motherhood for anything and all the stretched out skin was well worth - but as my children got older I was ready to get my body back!! I went to see Dr Boutros because he came highly recommended. He was wonderful- he explained everything to me - all expectations, healing and procedure details. I Left feeling comfortable and very excited.Dr Boutros and his staff were everything I Heard they would be. The day of surgery came and I was excited and a ligtle scared as expected but once I got there everyone made me feel comfortable - I love the fact that he has a loyal team even down the anesthesia who is a wonderful Dr also !! It felt like I was only under for a minute then I was awake and done -- first few days were a little rough - had to wear a garmet and had drains- five days letter my drains were removed and I felt alot better- I am seven weeks out and all I can say is wow I never thought I could ever look like this again - I had a waist and and ctual bellybutton lol - I am more than satisfied with my result and I am happy I did it and that Dr Boutros was my surgeon!!
I'm going to assume you had a flap done from the abdomen which apparently failed. Unfortunately, now that you’ve had an infection with the implant; your instance of contracture or tightening is almost 100%. Unfortunately the only option that will work for you at this point is a flap. By using autologous tissue and removing the implant you should be able to get a normal result. Since the abdominal tissues have most likely already been used, you would need a tissue such as PAP flap or a GAP flap. I would of course have to see your body to know exactly which one would be best for you.
Once an infection sets in after implant reconstruction, it becomes very difficult to reconstruct that breast with an implant in the future. Instead you should be switched to autologous tissue. By using your own tissue, the chance of infection is almost zero. I specialize in the DIEP (Deep inferior epigastric perforator) flap and other perforator flaps that rebuild the breast with your own tissue; without taking muscles or causing donor site strength issues.
Burns often affect the full thickness of the skin and underlining tissue. As the skin loses all elasticity and the breast attempts to develop, the patient ends up with a constricted breast that never looks normal. The only option is to remove all of the skin and replace it with a flap.
