Multiple Botox treatments no results, am I being scammed?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)I am not sure its resistance to Botox, but its something to consider. It could simply be the batch that he tried using. Especially since it seems you have used Botox before and didn't have this reaction. I would consider trying one last time, possibly with a different injector. If he offers to do it for free, then I would consider sticking with the same injector. Sometimes the Botox rep can help and provide a sample for patients that don't respond appropriately to the medicine. Alternatively, you can try another product, like Dysport or Xeomin.

2 days post-op. I had Botox injected into both upper eyelids for twitching. Still no improvement, was 2 units enough?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)Great question. While some patients can get pretty quick results, its much more common to have no results for a few days. By 7 days, you can expect 85% of the intended results, and by 2 weeks 100%. If at 2 weeks its not enough, consider more Botox. But I would be conservative and go slow. You can always add more, but its difficult to deal with a droopy upper eyelid from excessive Botox. Next round of Botox, you will have a better idea of how much Botox you eventually needed!

What are the risks of reversing osteotomies?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)Revision osteotomies can be helpful in realigning nasal bones that didn't heal right from the first rhinoplasty. It is always difficult to get the nasal bones to heal perfectly in place, and one can make the argument that there might have been an internal nasal reason for them not settling in the intended spot. I would suggest waiting a full year before signing up for revision rhinoplasty.

Developed muscle tension dysphonia, my throat hurts more and there's scar tissue in my nose. Options to remove scar tissue?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)I'm sorry about the Muscle tension Dysphonia. I would certainly see a Laryngologist (an ENT that has extra specialty training in the voice). I am certain there are some in Pittsburgh. With regards the the nasal tightness, there are things that can be done to "loosen" up the nose. However, it depends on how far out of surgery you are. If its within the first few months of surgery, its completely normal and does take just a little bit longer to soften up.

When I smile the muscles move my nostrils up and makes my nasal tip look droopy/heavy. I’ve had two rhinoplasties. Options?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)Its sometimes difficult to have a nose be less dynamic during smiling. This is because there are many muscles that are moving during smiling. Some are outside the structure of the nose ( like in the cheeks). If they are excessively pulling on the nose, no surgery would be great in dealing with that. However, sometimes Botox can help in those instances. You would need to be evaluated in person to see if that was a realistic option for your. Other more definitive options include resecting the depressor Septi muscle to help stop pulling on the tip. Adding nasal tip support with grafting can also help, but all of these later options require a third surgery.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)I am sorry you are still experiencing trouble 2 years post op. Its certainly time to seek a second opinion to see if there are solutions for you. I would start with a board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who can assess the breathing and aesthetic aspects of your nose.

How long should I at least wait until getting it fixed? (Photo)

I would certainly wait. Its quite early in the healing process, and you still have almost half the swelling still to come down. Breathing improvement can also take some time to get better, since there is so much swelling inside and out of the nose. Usually by 6 months some plans can be made if your still unhappy. But even then your surgeon might say wait for the year for all the swelling to come down. It would be a shame to operate early and somehow make you worse off if all that was needed was time. By 12 months, however, you can expect little to change.

1 week post-op. White lump inside my nose after revision rhinoplasty. Is it cartilage? Do I need to remove it?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)Please don't touch it. I would have your surgeon take a look at it. It may just be crusting that appears discolored. It usually just needs to be cleaned by your surgeon with direct visualization.

Will my nose reduce in length after a while it's to square nd long ?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)5 weeks is quite early in the Revision Rhinoplasty time line. I would give it more time. Remember, in any nasal surgery, the nasal tip is the last area of swelling to come down. You may ask your surgeon if a small kenalog (steroid) injection is warranted to bring down swelling.

3 months post-op revision rhinoplasty swelling. Is it possible to have swelling around the upper third of the nose?
Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)Its very common to have swelling in revision rhinoplasty that lasts longer than primary rhinoplasty. Sometimes, you can double the swelling recovery time. If there were grafts used ( as is common in revision rhinoplasty), swelling can persist in those locations. I would bring these concerns to your physician. There maybe a specific reason for the swelling. Swelling does also follow gravity, which means that the lower third will be the last area of the nose to decrease in swelling. And yes, thick skin certainly retains water for longer than thinner skin.

Best Decision Ever!!
I’m in love with my results!! I had a wide bridge and bulbous tip. My nose now has definition. I don’t have to contour it anymore and no longer feel self conscious. It was the best decision ever!! My nose was slightly crooked due to a deviated septum that was straightened and fixed, my breathing is better. Everything went very smooth even with flying in from TN on my own they went out of their way to help me to line up anything I needed to get it set up.

Best Decision I’ve Ever Made!!
Getting a septo-rhinoplasty with Dr. Undavia was honestly the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m five months post-op now, and it feels like it all happened so long ago, but I’m still amazed every time I look in the mirror. I had never had surgery before, and that was what I was most nervous about, but it turned out to be such an easy process. I Wish I Could Give More Than 5 Stars!
Dr. Undavia is the best! I can not express how grateful I am for him fixing my nose! I had been contemplating a rhinoplasty revision for years and finally decided to see Dr. Undavia. He spent time going over the process and explaining what I would need done in order to achieve what I had in mind. His office was also amazing, very easy to communicate with and very informative. I knew my revision was going to be complicated but it turned out better than I could ever imagine, I finally feel like myself again and I owe it all to Dr. Undavia! He has the best bedside manner and I don’t think any other doctor would of been able to do what he did for my revision.

Upper Blepheroplasty - I couldn't be happier with the results.
I had a really great experience with my upper blepheroplasty. Dr. Undavia did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with the results. The procedure was easy and he made me comfortable and at ease during it. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted a rhinoplasty, but only got very serious about it this past year. I spent months setting up consultations to meet the doctor and talk about what I had wanted, but never felt the doctor was the right fit for me. I couldn’t have had a better experience with Dr. Undavia. After spending years feeling dissatisfied with my nose, I finally decided to explore rhinoplasty, though it was a complicated case due to chronic sinus issues, a severe deviated septum, and sleep apnea. I’d consulted with surgeons across the East Coast, but none provided the time, attention, and expertise that Dr. Undavia did. He carefully assessed the complexities and developed a thorough surgical plan that addressed both the aesthetic and functional issues. His support was above and beyond throughout the process, easing my anxieties, especially since I’d previously had oral surgery elsewhere with post-op complications. Dr. Undavia is absolutely amazing. I had a rhinoplasty/septoplasty surgery 9 months ago and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I went in to the consultation with an open mind and he photoshopped a nose that he thought would fit my face the best (even took my height into account) and I loved the markup! He is extremely knowledgeable and was always available to answer any questions I had which made feel at ease through the whole process. He is very genuine and you can tell he truly cares about your concerns and wants the outcome to be perfect. Dr. Undavia is extremely talented which made my recovery process much easier than anticipated- I barely bruised! My nose looks so natural, and I still look like myself. I would put more than 5 stars if I could! I got a septoplasty, rhinoplasty, and sinus surgery with Dr. Undavia a few months ago.
