I rarely write reviews online, but i have to do this here! I did not know what i was getting myself into the very first time i stepped in the office for treatment. But the warm and friendly welcome from the staff was just enough to calm my nerves down. i am super excited for Dr Thabet and the entire team who are doing a wonderful job ensuring the patients have a wonderful experience, and great smiles. i am still on my Invisalign treatment and so far everything is going smoothly and cannot wait for the final results. Thank you so much Dr Thabet and all the staff for changing peoples lives on a daily basis.
We are so thrilled with the service and love we feel at Thabet from the whole staff. We will continue to come back for all of our children's ortho needs. Our children love coming, they leave happy, and most importantly, they follow the instructions that the staff gives them to best care for their teeth. How do I get my kids to follow MY instructions???
I had a expected getting braces to be the worst and most painful experience of my life. The Thabet team made sure that wasn’t true. They changed my teeth drastically in less than 2 years. I recommend them to all my friends & family member needing braces :)
This is an amazing office. The doctor, is very knowledgeable and confident in his work. I am greatful for the referral to this office. My braces were applied alittle over three weeks, I am enjoying this process. All care instructions, were provided very throughly by Dr. Thabet and his assistants.
Having just failed at Invisalign twice (my aligners wouldn't stay in my mouth at night due to grinding, so my teeth shifted and the aligners no longer fit), I opted to try again with fixed braces. Being a 34 year old professional, I wanted the most discreet option available while still being a fixed/non-removable option. I opted for Damon braces, which I am told I will need to wear for approximately nine months. Updated on 9 Dec 2016: Updated on 9 Dec 2016: Just after getting them put on. Updated on 9 Dec 2016: My mouth is sore and eating is awkward and painful. But I am feeling optimistic about my smile after my treatment. Updated on 14 Dec 2016: One week photo update Updated on 27 Dec 2016: I like the progress so far, but as my teeth straighten the chip on my front tooth seems much more obvious. When I'm done with braces I will have to deal with that. I'm getting tired of wearing braces, but I am still making progress. The brackets keep popping off my back teeth. I have developed a gap on the bottom. Updated on 5 Sep 2017: It's still very weird to get used to not having braces. I went in this morning and the orthodontist Took off the brackets. Then he polished it all up and the final result is amazing. As someone who had crooked teeth their entire life, it's very strange looking in the mirror. Once I get used to it, I think I will be very happy!
The team at Thabet Orthodontics has been a pleasure to work with through both of our kids' experiences. The individualized care, timely appointments, and pleasant atmosphere are all top notch. And throughout the process, neither of my children had that telltale closed-lip grin of a child embarrassed by their braces. They both understood the process and were confident in the purpose and progress being made to give them their best smile possible. Treatment has been less than a year for each of them, compared to the 5+ years mom and dad each experienced as a kid. My only minor complaint is with the coordination of benefits with my dental insurance. Fayth is trying to work her magic with the claims department, but it has been painfully slow. I do not fault Thabet staff, but it has slightly tainted an otherwise pleasant experience.
We LOVE Thabet Orthodontics!! We have referred numerous people and all have chosen Thabet and are very happy as well. After consulting w/3 orthodontists we chose Thabet because we felt the treatment approach was best. They are always extremely friendly and appointments are easy, fast, and on time! I wish all appointments were this efficient!
Invisalign is like cheating with straightening your teeth. Believe me, I know. I had braces as a teen-ager - bands around every single tooth. My teeth shifted over time, and I was not extremely happy with the original outcome. Invisalign is so much more gentle, and in the right Dr's hands, you can get amazing results. I researched quite a bit and I know that a lot of doctors dabble in Invisalign. I found out that Dr. Thabet has an amazing amount of experience with Invisalign. Check to make sure that your provider sees a lot of cases each year and goes to one or two training sessions each year. The technology, from what I understand, has changed over the years. Also, I've heard that a lot of orthodontists who use Invisalign finish in braces. Dr. Thabet does not. He knows how to use it as a great tool to straighten teeth.
Having attachments is a part of doing Invisalign. They are required to assist in creating the force vectors required to move teeth is certain directions. Attachments are placed in one of two ways, either the computer software recognizes movements that require attachments base on an algorithm or they are placed by the orthodontist recognizing a need for them. The number and placement will therefore be dictated by the plan for tooth movements. These movements can be dictated by the orthodontist or left to a technician in Costa Rica to decide where the teeth should be. This is why there is a difference in who is doing your Invisalign treatment. The more experienced and educated your provider the better your outcome will likely be.
I would not switch Clear for metal based on wanting a wider smile. Both brackets are low friction and are designed to be interchangable in the Damon treatment philosophy. My personal belief is that the clear Damons are more challenging to work with from an orthodontists perspective, being harder to derotate teeth using it, but for the patient you should see ne difference. Enjoy the great esthetics of your clear braces!
It is not unusual after an initial set of aligners to have some teeth that are not ideally aligned, similarly to your front teeth. This is the roll of refinement in the invisalign process. The orthodontist would take new impressions and create additional aligners to perfect toe position of the teeth Good luck with your treatment
The treating dentist can be as involved as they wish in the planning of the case. Personally I request specific movements, timing of those movements and sequence of the movements. At the other extreme a dentist can send a case in with limited instructions such as "straighten teeth" and answer a few multiple choice questions about the case. In this senario the dentist and patient are at the mercy of how good the Invisalign technician is. This planning is what you are are really paying for when you see an orthodontist who has spent a lot of time training with Invisalign to produce the best results.
The length of time spent in braces varies considerably depending on the severity of the Case. Some cases take as little as 6 months while others can take 2 years. The American Association of Orthodontist studies show a national average treatment time of 27 months. In my practice I use Suresmile treatment which combines digital orthodontics and robotics to create more accurate results much faster and our treatment times average 16 months.
