Dr. Flannagan was my 4th consult. He along with his office staff have an incredibly friendly demeanor and answered any questions I had. They let me spend extra time trying on sizers when I was unable to make up my mind. And I at no point felt like they were trying to sell me on a certain size.
I have wanted implants for years, I had my children young and over the years lost breast volume. I am now 4 days post op and feeling amazing, still a little blown away that I went through with it! The pain was minimal compared to what I expected, can't wait for them to settle so I can shop!! Updated on 1 Oct 2021: Monday I will be three weeks post op,and I am feeling good. Pain is minimal, left side is lower than right. I am happy with my decision, and ready to get back into working out more. I've done some lower body and walking so far!
Dr. Flannagan is an artist. I had a fat transfer in 2019 on the east coast that went horribly awry. Many surgeons told me I would require what felt like a mountain of procedures to even get a sliver of the result I desired, he delivered it with ease. His staff is friendly, personable and his med team is comforting. They are accessible, unlike many East coast surgeons. He himself is quirky, with that old school mannerism of reassurance. Being in a room with him feels like being in the presence of a shy but thoughtful cowboy. He speaks quickly, clearly and with purpose. He’s not a sales man. He’s not selling himself as a product, he’s selling those skilled hands as an artist. He is not a yes man, he is a “here is what I do and why I do it” man which is refreshing to hear from a plastic surgeon. As consumers we are often misled by the table photos strewn across Instagram. There’s no flash and pizazz here, only truly beautiful outcomes. I have never had a better anesthesia experience. I have never had a more hands on aftercare where I was able to express my needs and have them met. I traveled from Boston MA to IN during a pandemic to get this done and I don’t regret a single minute of it.
Naturally always had big breast for my frame. Like 34D/DD when I graduated HS. The main being nice perky balls naturally (probably thanks to the fiber cystic breast tissue. Anyway, fast forward to 35 years old and having nursed 2 sweet babies for over 2 1/2 years combined, they were empty! I thought sure I'd need a lift but 2/3 doctors said no my nipple placement, size were great still. I only felt sagging because top was all gone. I ended up follow my surgeons advice because to be honest he was so confident and spend time with my husband and I to ease nervous and reassurance he was right but he was very admitted that he do a wide high profile implant behind muscle and restore them beautifully. I was so so scared I would be massive because I see people taking on her about ccs and the rule of thumb 200 adds cup. Wait, I'm a 32 DD - double deflated I guess. lol so I was so scared but the surgeon made me feel better and this morning I went through with it. His detail to my care, is 100% why I'm doing as good as I am, I'm positive. The meds pre-op, operative care, post care so far just excellent. I feel big but hello they are full again and swollen. I can't see the real reveal till Wed but here's a night before pic and this evening pictures. I'll post more as I go on. Hoping this will help someone else. It's SO hard to find people who had big boobs and then are left deflated not needing a lift. Or finding someone not wanting a lot bigger than what was left. I finally got the BL 2017, I was supposed to get the new Breast Implant same surgery as the lift however my Dr at the time backed out and said no to both surgeries together due to the risk of healing properly. I was PO!!! 1 year later I go back to get implant exchange, Natrelle SCX-800 Silicone and he refused to go that big.... GEEZ! So I then went to my original Dr. Flannagan who did my first BA and he had no problems with fulfilling my wish!! Updated on 8 Nov 2018: Definitely a lot better but I still want bigger implants! I am sooooo relieved to see the results I have always wanted! Sincere thank you to my Dr. Ryan Flannagan (Jasper, IN) You are an outstanding surgeon! Updated on 16 Nov 2018: So I am 8 days PO and my implants are starting to fall and settle in my armpit/sides.. I am told to vigorously push the implants inward (implant exercise) 3-4x a day holding for 3-4 minutes each time from my PS and we will see if that works, otherwise I am very pleased to say my PS is not going to charge me a dime to fix the problem, I would only have to pay hospital fee $600. So that alone has made me feel better. Updated on 21 Nov 2018: Hello everyone, update, I am 13 days PO 800cc BA I wrote this review BEFORE I knew my results were going SOUTH!! I have struggled and been waiting for so long for my breast to be the way I wanted even remotely close would be great. I have had 1 BA 2012, 1 BL 2017 GREAT RESULTS on this surgery... 1 BA 2018 which I was hoping would be my last my results are horrible my implants are Lateral displacement I have no upper pole and saggy cleavage???? WTF? I am sure I need a Capsulorrhaphy Surgery to correct them but my Dr Flannagan says that’s incorrect I need another breast lift to make them correct?? WTF? I have contacted another surgeon Dr. Revis in Fort Lauderdale Florida, he has told me I do need my implants fixed and he can give me exactly what I want, so I am going to schedule another surgery with him probably at the end of 2019/2020 and I will be getting Saline with Internal Bra 1300+++ Whatever fits my breast to blow them out! Cost $12,000. So by the time I’m done I will have about $30,000 just in breast surgeries alone... really disgusted with the whole situation. Update soon.
My surgery was 6 days ago and so far I am very pleased with the results. I had a pain pump for the first 3 days & I HIGHLY recommend it! Pain in abdominal area has bee fairly minimal, but I am still taking 1 Percocet every 4-6 hours. My lower back and hips, however, are a different story. I go in for my first check up tomorrow and will get my staples and one drain tube removed. Hopefully they can give me some idea of when they expect I'll be able to stand up straight again & relieve some of the stain its putting on my back.
I'm 18 years old and a senior in high school. I've had large boobs since I was in elementary school, the final size before my surgery was a DDD left breast and an F right breast. There was a major size difference, almost 300g more in my right than in my left. I am just barely 5'3 and I weighed 180lbs before my surgery. I had my bilateral breast reduction on January 19th of 2015 by the amazing Dr. Ryan Flannagan. I had 751g removed from my right breast and 570g taken out of my left. I am only barely three weeks into recovery but I am already healing at a very fast rate. I still experience sporadic pains and uncomfortablity from time to time and probably will for at least 6 months to a year. I just wanted to let every woman out there know that it does not matter your age and it does not matter what people have to say. Your body belongs to you and you have the power to do whatever you need to to feel comfortable with yourself. I have never been happier and it was hands down the greatest decision I have ever made. I stumbled upon this website and some of the stories I read have really helped me come to grips with what I have to look forward to. They have also helped me answer several questions that I had not previously known the answers to. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me! Updated on 12 Feb 2015: It's been 1 month and 3 days since my surgery, my next appointment isn't until March 17th because my doctor said everything looked perfect at my last post-op. I'd been wearing gauze in my bras since the day after my surgery, but I noticed that when I got out of the shower there was a thin layer of a whitish-green slime over my dissolvable stitches. I panicked and asked a friend who had the operation 7 years prior if this was normal, she asked for a picture so I sent one, and she said it looked completely normal and told me to give it about 2 more weeks before I got nervous. Just this past Monday I tried wearing a bra without the gauze and had to rip the fabric out of the incision site. One of the incisions started to bleed semi-heavily and of course I panicked. The greenish layer is no longer slimy, rather it is just hard and dry. There are areas under this that I can still see open flesh and some blood. Should I be nervous or am I just not used to the healing process? I have little to no pain during the day or when I'm sleeping so I'm not sure if it is an infection or not. Help me please :-D Updated on 23 Feb 2015: My left breast is healing very nicely, the dissolvable stitches have disappeared completely from what I can see. The dead/dying skin is still there, but a smaller amount, and the incision is probably less than an inch away from being completely closed. The right breast - being the larger of the two - had much more tissue taken out and is swelling more than the left. That is not what worries me, though. I am worried because the incision on my right breast is much wider than the left one. I can see the skin and blood underneath very clearly because it is about 2 inches wide still, if not more. There is little to no dead skin on this side and it looks pretty normal. I haven't seen or felt anything that causes panic of infection that I know of, but this is my first surgery and I'm not sure what that would look like. I keep telling myself it's just taking longer to heal because it was such a big difference in the amount of tissue taken out and that the swelling has something to do with it. I have a check up in about a week, but I would like to know a little more before going in. Can anyone help me or give me some advice? Updated on 23 Feb 2015:
I am scheduled to have a mommy makeover January 3rd. I am having a breast reduction, lift and submuscular implants along with a tummy tuck. Very anxious, but at my pre op appointment Dr. Flannagan helped put my mind at ease by taking his time to answer all of the questions I had.
