I'm only 4 days post op and I know there's a lot of healing and some appts in my future so I will definitely update! But for now here's my story. July 2021 I started with my original 36C. I got 415cc under the muscle silicone implants. I was then a 36DD. Only a few months after my implant surgery I started getting severe brain fog and anxiety. I also had confusion, memory issues, disassoiation, depression, joint pain, major fatigue, tingling and twitching in muscles , etc. it took many trips to the docs , blood work, CT and MRIs, you name it to come back with no reason for this. Finally I realized it is probably breast implant illness. I decided to remove the implants. I consulted with a few popular doctors in the expert world and was willing to travel. I came across Dr. R and decided to go for it. Surgery was March 20, 2024 I got a lift as well. My first reaction to the picture was I thought my breasts looked like a smaller sized chest with implants! . Of course I'm going through the emotional motions of having such a smaller chest , but his work so far, looks better than I imagined . I know there's a lot of healing and the final outcome is yet to come so I will update either way. Dr R has wonderful bedside manner. But even more importantly he cares deeply in doing a great job for you so you're happy in the long run. So far I feel so much better mentally and I'm excited to have my life back (with cute new little boobies) :)
I had a great experience with Dr Rubinstein. I was looking for a surgeon to remove my implants and capsules. Dr Rubinstein is very caring and takes his time to explain all the process. I knew I was in good hands from the first consultation. I am very happy with my results.
I had a great experience. My results came out much better than I anticipated. I was nervous because my case was unique in that I only needed one implant taken out because the other one had gotten infected two years prior. During that two years I realized I had bii and just wanted them out completely. Also the prior surgeon who did my initial augmentation and lift did not took the pocket enough so there was a lot of space from the nipple to the bottom of the breast. So even if I did not get an infection I would not have been satisfied with my results. Because of the infection it left a big scar. I was nervous to have the implant taken out and the lift done at the same time because I was afraid he would not be able to make it symmetrical. Other surgeons told me it would need to be done in a two-step process. However I had faith in him and he got them pretty darn symmetrical. The only complaint that I have is that I felt that the office could’ve been better about following up. I understand it was in the middle of Covid and they were probably really busy. Updated on 18 Jul 2020: There was a glitch on the website and it only allowed me to add one photo so I am adding a few more photos. I am very pleased with my results with Dr. Rubinstein and my breasts are healing wonderfully
Nineteen years ago, at the age of 21, I got saline breast implants because I had very low self esteem due to my Itty Bitties (34AAA). I was convinced that as long as I didn't get silicone-filled implants, there were no real health effects to worry about. I got 350cc smooth saline Mentor implants under the muscle with a nipple incision, bringing me up to a full 34C. At the time, my main concern was if I would be able to breastfeed someday (which, thankfully, with a LOT of effort, I was). About 6 years after getting implants, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, ulcerative colitis. No one in my family had any history of autoimmune disorders. And more recently, I have been found to have many food sensitivities including gluten, dairy, almonds, egg yolks, pork, and more. Last summer, I had both a close friend and sister who started finding out about Breast Implant Illness and thinking about explanting. I hadn't even heard of BII before. I was scared to even do my own research, because I was afraid even of the idea of having to remove mine. I had adjusted to a body image that felt comfortable to me. It took me months before I was ready to even start researching and learning about BII. And the first night that I did, I knew right away-- some of my health issues might be caused by my body's immune reaction to my implants. And I started praying for God to give me peace about making a decision. In December, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Rubinstein. I had to wait almost 3 months for a consultation, then another 3.5 months for my surgery date (and that was without any Covid delay). After scheduling the consultation, I started having my prayers answered- I started feeling peace about deciding to go ahead and remove them. I now have peace knowing that I am making a decision to choose health over what our society has pushed me to think is important: body image. I am loved by God, and I was created exactly as He meant me to be. I will be allowing my body to detox from the foreign materials that have been inside of it for so many years! I hope to be a 34AA after my fluffing comes... and I am OK with that. I am 10 days post-op now. I am feeling so, so good!! Here are some random thoughts about this experience that might be helpful to others: -Dr. R is just the most kind, compassionate guy! He is a perfectionist and an amazing surgeon, but he also focuses on making you the most comfortable and happy with your results that he can. -If you don't live close to Dr. R, he will do Skype follow-up consults with you (awesome)! I chose to remove my own drains at home so we didn't have to drive 2.5 hours to my follow-up appt at 6 days. -Removing the drains at home was no big deal, really. My sister and mom also both removed theirs (with help, as I had from my hubby). -I recommend that you consider drains... just be informed and make your own personal decision, as we all should. No judgment! -The Los Robles SurgiCenter is very nice! As you wait for surgery, they hook your gown up to a warm air vent to keep you comfy and warm, and they give you warm non-slip socks to wear. -The week after surgery, I've tried to eat clean- low salt, low sugar, high protein, no alcohol, LOTS of fruit and water. Nutrition helps healing. For those of you on the fence, I can't recommend Dr. R highly enough! My whole experience so far has been smooth and positive. I am SO happy and relieved to be on the lighter side now; flat but fierce! ;) I am so excited to see what positive health effects I have in coming months. Blessings to each of you on your own journey! I pray that you come to have peace about your decision and acceptance of your new, lighter, healthier, gorgeous body! You are amazing, brave, and loved by God without any silicone enhancements whatsoever. :)
I found Dr. Rubinstein from the Breast Implant Illness list of doctors, and I saw the results of a procedure he performed in a friend. She had an explant and en bloc and her breasts looked as if nothing had been taken out. My consultation with Dr R reassured me that he was worth the wait for surgery and I was not wrong. I had an expant, enbloc capsulectomy, and lift. I’m a week post op, with BII symptoms gone two days post op. My incisions look good and I am healing well. Dr R is caring and dedicated to helping his patients.
Dr. Rubinstein is absolutely AMAZING! He over exceeded my expectations. After 3 pregnancies & nursing them 4 years, my body was destroyed. I had 500cc Silicon Mentor Implants. I wanted them out. I meet with 5 different explant doctors. Dr.R was the winner. He makes you feel comfortable. I knew he was the Doctor for me. I had a Mommy Makeover. I explanted with a full anchor lift & a tummy tuck. It turns out one implant was ruptured and the other flipped. I feel like a million bucks. I have full sensation & a perfect belly button. I no longer suffer with chronic body aches, Migraines, & Fatigue, etc. He has magic Hands. He has the best bedside manner. He is Honest, & does not try to sell you on anything extra. He really makes you feel, as if you are his only patient. I am now 6 months post op. I am overjoyed. I highly recommend Dr. Rubinstein & his staff. Thank you for much. Updated on 17 Jun 2020: I feel my Anxiety gone, Migraine head aches, Energy is back, body aches gone, Happier. The list goes on. I did not realize how many of us are effected by the toxic time bomb. I am so thankful to Have found Dr.R
I too felt he was smooth and knowledgeable and he was the perfect doctor. After countless surgeries loss of work for over a year, spent 22k and on my 5th surgery I ended up at UCLA having Thoracic surgery. Had to have bone grafting the infection ended up to be a rib infection and cartilage infection. My left breast was left deformed. I immediately communicated my pain and hardening of my breast. I was in his office for every necessary appointment for 8 months. I trusted him and kept waiting to get the scheduled dates. But instead he gave me every excuse as to why he couldn’t fit me in to have them removed since the pain began. Remember at this point I am not spending money I’m a problem. Instead I ended up in the ER with an exposed implant. #sepsis #botched #Exposedimplant #Bonegrafting #5surgerieslater
I was sick for a long time 7 years. I couldn't get better no matter what I tried. I decided to get my implants removed so I could reduce the toxins my body had to work to remove from my body so I cold regain my health Updated on 15 Mar 2020: I didn't post pictures of my explant before so here are the pictures. I didn't have a good experience and he didn't listen to what I wanted. I will need a lot of reconstruction to get them to even look somewhat normal. The bottom of my breasts are square and there is a dog tag. I told him to order do a very tight lift and he didn't listen. I had beautiful nipples before. It's so upsetting
Agree with getting clarification. Hard to do while your wife is healing, but please consider going in person and getting an explanation. Taking to the Internet can't be useful here.Often, fees are bundled into a lift. For example, you may hear "if I do a lift, I don't charge for the placement of the implants." This well-intentioned policy might cause confusion if a decision is made during surgery to cancel the lift portion, as may have occurred in your example. Or maybe you are in fact owed more! Most likely your surgeon will prefer clarification over a patient who is upset before even seeing their result. My suggestion is to go to the office and get clarification before using this site for this, which invites the local competition to participate in subtle smearing (of course not your intention). The office will likely provide all you need, and graciously. All will be resolved!
Absolutely you are a candidate and I recommend seeing a surgeon with a steady hand :) Should be a relatively simple procedure if you choose a good plastic surgeon.
Not usually seen after botox for the crow's feet, but likely a temporary reaction. If it does not resolve in 1-2 days (cold compresses are helpful), I recommend that you contact your treating physician and follow-up. All the best.
This small area of breakdown of the incision is usually not a threat to the implant or to the eventual result, but you need to notify your surgeon and seek their advice, as they are committed to your good outcome. When things like this occur, and assuming no allergies, I like Iodosorb, although it can be messy. Take meticulous care of the wound and it will heal.
Age spots can be troubling, especially when they appear in the younger years. Some ethnicities tend to favor the appearance of age spots earlier than wrinkles, and others have the opposite pattern. Regardless, the best treatments for age spots are photofacial / pulsed light optimized to target the pigmentation in the skin above background levels. This alone can be very effective, and can be combined also with serums and creams containing hydroquinone or arbutin or other natural "bleaching agents" (which makes them sound more aggressive than they really are). Be careful about any pigmented spots on the face that are irregular appearing, and see a qualified practitioner to evaluate them first if there is any concern. Not all IPL technology is the same, but even more important is the practitioner's skill level. Best of luck!
