After suffering from breast implant illness I finally decided to see a surgeon regarding my ongoing issues that were extremely debilitating. After my consultation with Dr. Whitfield I finally had hope that I could actually get better. He guided me and treated me before I even paid or decided to go with him and even called me the next day to see how I was feeling. I was shocked! A doctor who actually cared. All in all, I got the surgery and have had excellent results aesthetically and overall improvement in my health. My breasts look amazing just 3 months post op and even though I have some lingering health issues, healing takes time. Great communication and incredible patience.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your story. I’m currently trying to figure out if I am suffering from BII. Could you possibly share what symptoms you were experiencing please? I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out..sorry you are not feeling well. I had many symptoms that developed over time. Initially I received the Covid vaccine and believed that to be the issue so I never connected the dots to past issues I have had over the last year and a half. I was told the vaccine probably boosted my immune system and exasperated the underlying issue that had been lingering for the last year and a half. Before my surgery, I had horrible joint pain, inflammation, back pain, headaches, dizziness, breast pain, cough, random fevers, blood shot eyes, feeling of choking while eating, nerve pain, neuropathy, skin rashes, shortness of breath and above all chronic fatigue, depression and anxiety. I felt hopeless. I’m four months post op and I’m 95% recovered. Best decision I made. I have my life back. I hope this helps. Anything else I’m here!

Thank you so much!! I’m sorry you experienced that. I got my implants in 2017 and everything seemed ok. December 2020 I woke up with a bad headache that wouldn’t go away. After a week and a half I went to the ER. They gave me headache cocktail and it did nothing. I tried numerous doctors, specialist, therapy, massages, Accupunture, cupping and chiropractors. Nothing helped. After a year my head slowly started to feel better but I have joint pains, chronic fatigue, fogginess, depression, etc. Recently I saw on real self BII and it seems to fit. I’m trying to learn about it and understand so I can present it to my doc. Thank you so much for sharing. Your reply helped a lot.

I can tell you there are many doctors who don’t believe in the illness and that’s why Dr. Whitfield was fabulous. I also got my implants in 2017 and starting experiencing symptoms in 2020 and more so in 2021. It’s very hard to determine because there is no test to definitively tell you that you have it. It’s a gamble but when no one has an answer (like what happened with me) all bloodwork, tests, X-rays, ultrasounds, MRI’s I was the healthiest person around. I just made the decision to go for it. Best of luck to you.
