Best Mommy Makeover Decision Ever
Last Friday December 3rd I had my mommy makeover. This included a breast lift with fat grafting, and a tummy tuck. So here’s what happened. I travelled almost 2 hours to my appointment. I was dehydrated, which causes me to have migraines, and right after nurse Ange took my unflattering before surgery pics, I was on the bathroom floor in the dark christening there sparkly toilet. They did mention this has never occurred before. I guess there’s a first time for everything. Lol. Not once did they seem annoyed or feel they should rush me to hurry up so we could get the surgery started. Instead they helped with my head pain and they were all so patient and kind the whole time. They just wanted to make sure I was ok. This really helped me cause I was afraid they would be upset. But they were not bothered by this the slightest bit. As my head began to feel normal Dr. Shenker and Dr. Nicolas went over everything with me about the surgery. I did not feel nervous at all. All the nurses were so professional, always had a smile on their faces and made some funny jokes too. I really don’t think I have the words to describe how amazing they really truly are. When I was waking up, I remember the nurses coming to my side and checking to see how I am. I thought I was going to wake up in excruciating pain. But I did not feel one ounce of pain at all. Clearly the medication works. They had some juice and baby cookies for me for when I woke up and as soon as I was ready, they helped me sit at the side of the bed, and went through everything I needed to know in order to stand and walk for the next few days. The information I needed to get through this was relayed to my husband and was also on paper so there was no way I could forget anything. I arrived at the clinic at 8am and I was able to leave at 3:30pm that afternoon. They were also kind enough to give me a goodie bag for when I left. I do want to mention that I received a CD in the bag with some fantastic music that I believe are some local bands on it. I will be updating my progress as the time goes on and will be giving a shout out to these fabulous artists. When I got home Dr. Shenker called me that evening to see how I was doing. He is so kind and easy to talk too and is only concerned about how I’m doing and to make sure my husband didn’t eat the delicious cookie that was also in my goodie bag. I was nervous to look at myself when I was to shower the next day because I was afraid of what the bruising and stitches would look like. But again it was nothing horrible. At all. It was a lot better then seeing the scars and sagging skin from before. I instantly felt beautiful and confident, which I haven’t felt in 20 years. (I’m only 42. Babies came at a young age.) They have completely changed my life. It’s only been a week so far but I have never felt better. I’m excited to know I can wear clothes that will make me feel like a woman for once and not someone trying to hide behind my husbands big t shirts and pants. Thank you Ashley for the months of emails and phone calls that you were always so kind to answer right away. To the nurses Ange, Adrienne, Patti and Karen, thank you so much for being so kind, caring, patient, and understanding. I really hope you realize how truly special you all are. You really helped make a difference in my life. Dr. Nicolas, thank you for making me laugh and making sure I was safe while I was asleep during this surgery. And Dr. Shenker, you truly are a blessing, you have given me a reason to feel beautiful again. You really are an artist. I had no idea my body could heal so nicely. And nurse Lauren, I am excited to finally meet you next Friday for my follow up appointment. You have been so helpful and kind with my concerns this past week. I truly am so grateful for each and everyone of you. My husband has mentioned I’m more confident already. I didn’t think this could ever be possible. If there is anything more I can do to get across to others that you are the best choice then let me know. I can only give 5 stars on here, but I will be more then happy to cover myself with the other deserving stars and stand in front of the clinic in due time to show why you deserve the best rating possible. Lol.
But in all seriousness, I am beyond grateful for all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Stay tuned for more to come. Don’t worry, I won’t be standing outside. Lol.
