Dr. Burke is the best cosmetic surgeon that I have had the pleasure to meet and became his patient. He is an amazing human being. After 3 breast augmentations, finally I feel beautiful with and without a top...excellent!!! Smart lipo was also excellent and I only had 2cm incision in 3 areas that have healed and post op is now 4 weeks. He has done multiple facial procedures including the silhouette facial lift...which I love. He makes you beautiful but naturally beautiful!!! Beautiful human being and great office staff, that has been with him since I have been his patient going on 4 years now. I think that speaks volumes on the character of someone. EXCELLENT COSMETIC SURGEON!
My last procedure done with Dr. Burke was Eyelid lift. The procedure was painless and no down time. I went back to work same day. Dr. Burke and his staff (Eva, Nikki) are the most compassionate, knowledgeable and caring people. Dr. Burke made me feel very comfortable. The very next day I noticed slightly lift on my eyelid . After two weeks the result was amazing. I completely love my look!!!
I just got done with smart lipo and I was very nervous. Going in to the office I was shaking and almost chickened out. The nurse made me feel comfortable and I finally felt relax. The worse part was the IV other then that it went smoothly they gave me my meds and I eventually fell asleep. They used local anesthesia. The only thing I really felt was when the injected the lidocaine in my bra rolls and hips, but soon right after they did that I feel right asleep. I didn't feel them inject lidocaine in my abdomen area. Finally I woke up and the procedure was done! The only down part was I had a really bad headache and could barely walk. I been sleeping all day and felt kinda "high" and very emotional. Any people who are scared of puking , I did NOT puke. My pain level on a scale 1-10 is a 3 but I have a higher pain tolerance. It just feel like a sore muscle. I'll post picture later and keep y'all updated :)
I am incredibly happy even at 2 weeks post-op, and would donit again without a thought! I was super sore the first two days, but by day 3, I started to feel better daily. This is an incredibly invasive procedure, and I expected to have a long recovery, but I swear, the doctor makes the difference. It was well worth it.
I have had large thighs, in proportion to my body, all my life. They couldn't just be large but they had these bulging fat pockets at the very top of my upper, inner thigh. As I reached my forties I noticed the skin on these thigh bulges became very red and very raw from rubbing against my clothing and each other. It became very uncomfortable to wear bathing suites, dresses and jeans (they are not made to accommodate thigh fat bulges) or anything which caused my thighs to rub together. I began wearing cut off stretch pants under my dresses and I ditched the bathing suite. I was just over it. I felt very insecure about my legs and I spent most of my days and nights trying to ignore the pain the bulges caused. I thought for sure my doctor would deem surgery a necessity but I got my feelings hurt by about three different doctors. They just refuse to feel my pain. I resolved myself to living with the pain. Then I had this great idea. In order to kill my mommy guilt over even thinking of spending so much money on myself I figured once I finished my degree at the University of Michigan I would treat myself to cosmetic surgery. A better body would be my reward. After much research and countless consultations I settled on a doctor in Ann Arbor Michigan who is charged with being the watch dog over the other cosmetic surgeons. How could I go wrong with him?? He refused to perform a tummy tuck on me until I lost 30lbs which would get me down to 200lbs. So I figured he could get my thighs taken care of. I asked him to remove the fat pockets only and pull up the lose skin. Realistically speaking, I did not expect, nor did I want skinny legs. He felt I would only need liposuction only. I didn't agree but he was the surgeon and knew the expected outcome better than myself so I went with it. On December 4th of last year I went in for my procedure. I felt more excited than fear. After all these years no more thigh bulges! During the procedure I was alert but sedated. There were times when I would have to tell him I could feel what he was doing and would have to inject more numbing medication. Seem like the procedure went on for about two hours or so. I saw how much fat he removed and it seemed like a lot. Not only did he take from my thighs but he also to from around the flanks area. Once done it seem like they up and ready to go home immediately. I figured they wanted me to be home and relaxing by the time the numbing meds wore off. Once home I got into bed and got catered to. I had to change my dressings often due to the large volume of fluid leakage. It slowed down by around day three to where I could just cover the entry wounds with small bandages. I wore (and still wear) my compression garments almost daily. My thighs were sore and swollen for weeks. They were also numb from the middle of my thighs to the top of my knees. A month or so into the healing process I noticed the changing in my thighs but not the changes I expected to see. I noticed there was like a concave effect going on in the middle of my thighs. It's like the doctor took a lot of fat from the middle of my thighs but not the top area of my thighs as I wanted. I tried to keep myself from getting upset by telling myself that in time they will look the way they are supposed to. But three months after the treatment the shape of my thighs only became more of what I didn't want. I have to admit the bulges are somewhat smaller as they are not red or raw anymore. However, the bulges are still there and my thighs are noticeably asymmetrical. So at my follow up appointment in March I voiced my displeasure and was relieved when the nurse agreed more work needed to be done to get a great result. The doctor suggested doing Zerona treatments for five weeks at twice a week. This sucks!!! I don't want to run to his office that often during the time I am to be working. Not only did this take up my time, but the cost in gas to go out of my way was crazy. Thank goodness my job is closer to the office than my home is. So for 45 minutes twice a week my front and back thighs received Zerona treatments which are low laser treatments meant to slowly reduce the fat in the areas being treated. At the end of the five week Zerona process I was still not happy. The doctor almost made me lose it when at the end of my last treatment he said, "Well, let's do this again for five more weeks." It was no way in h*&% was I going to do that again. I just don't have that kind of time. I told him that was not going to work for me and he said let's follow up in six weeks. I said, "Fine." So now I'm patiently waiting for my next follow up appointment scheduled for May. My thighs are smaller but they are not shapely. This is why I only wanted the top fat removed...I was worried about messing with the rest. I have had a tummy tuck in January of this year by a different doctor who did not insist I lose weight first. He did an awesome job and I am 5lbs away from weighing 200lbs. I feel so good about myself. This doctor has agreed to work on my thighs after my thighs have a little more healing time since smart liposuction can take up to a year to get final results. Dang it! I was hoping to wear a swim suite which did not have a skirt attached to it this summer. Oh well. But my final thought on what the thigh doctor could do to provide the utmost customer service is to refund at least half my money so that I can go and get the procedure re-done. I'm really worried about letting him do anything else to me. Will keep you posted.
Regardless of diet and exercise, my thighs still connected as I walked. I bought the back smoothing bras to hide my ripples and the little muffin tops appeared at the top of my favorite jeans. I have had liposuction in the past and I dreaded the thought of the surgery with a long recovery. So I began researching. The first procedure to catch my eye was cool sculpting. I even went so far as to schedule an appointment for the procedure. Fortunately, I continued my research and knew cool sculpting would be a costly mistake. It is gimmicky and not for me. I soon came across smart lipo. This procedure was just what I was looking for. Next, I needed a skilled physician who could perform the procedure. The morning of the operation, I was excited and nervous. The nurse put in an IV for conscious sedation. Then my doctor came in and drew out his plan on my body. I then walked to the procedure room and laid face down on the table. The nurses and doctor let me know they were ready for the medication to flow through the IV. I fell asleep and woke up ready to be transported home. I slept for about four hours. I had a pretty good headache but nothing OTC medication didn't cure. I have a compression garment they gave me to wear. I took it easy resting and sleeping much of the first day. However, the second day I felt good. When I touch the areas of surgery it felt like touching a sunburn. The pain level felt sore like I worked out too hard but nothing that prevented me from moving about normally with my daily life. Updated on 11 Jun 2013: It has been 2 weeks since my procedure. I noticed a few days ago that the bruising on my inner thighs disappeared. The pain I feel in my thighs is like an occassional soreness, when I press deeply. This tells me that the healing process is not complete. All of the bruising on my flanks and back are gone as well. I did not bruise too much there anyways. At one point I forgot that I even had something done. I have gone about my daily like as normal. Then a couple of days ago I noticed a short pin pricking feeling in my flank area. The pain was nothing I needed to take medication for, just a reminded that I am still healing. I am wearing the spanx body suits 24/7 and plan to continue to do so for the next 6 weeks. I'll admit they are annoying at times but I feel it is an important component to the best out come. I still have some swelling and soreness. I have not lost or gained any weight. My weight is in the normal range anyways. My goal for this procedure is to get rid of bra bulges, muffin tops, and my thighs swiping together. I am confident this will be met and I can see evidence already. I'll add photos soon. Updated on 13 Jun 2013: The would have and should have of life. Photos are great if you take them. I have a few photos that are misplaced on my computer at the moment. I'll have the medical photos in a month. At the moment I am interested in viewing the photos for my personal use. Make a note to take plenty of photos. Updated on 26 Jun 2013: Well, it's has been five weeks. I feel great overall. I experience what can be described as a deep compression bruise when I massage or press hard on my flanks and inner thighs. My back bra area is completely healed. I am satisfied with the results thus far. I had a big event in my life and I looked awesome. My clothes fit perfectly. Without a doubt smart lipo was well worth the money.
Hello! I know while doing MY research on UHP implants I couldn't find many pics or women that already had them so I'm hoping to help other ladies. I'm 5'8 135lbs,was a full D, had 2 beautiful lil ladies and went to a droopy B. My PS suggested UHP so I went with his choice. I don't have my measurements yet but will get them when I go back for my post-op. I went in on 4-22-13 and got 480cc UHP, unders, crease incision. Surgery went great, I wasn't bandaged at all. Doc orders were to apply Aquaphor to the stitches everyday and change the bandages. They are pretty tight and sore still. Riding pretty high, and look a little different from each other which, only a 5 days after could be expected. Any questions or anything I am missing, please feel free to ask!!
I have used Latisse off and on for about a year now. It works very well if you apply it consistently. My lashes have never been very thick or long, but with this they grew very noticeably longer and somewhat thicker as well. The only downside is that I find the day after I've applied Latisse, my upper eyelids look (and occasionally feel)a little irritated. They turn a somewhat odd orange-y color. Not very noticeable and easy to cover up with power or eye shadow, but a little off-putting nonetheless. While I think this is a great product, it's very expensive for how long it lasts. That's why I have not used it consistently. I'm hopeful the price will come down over time.
I had smart lipo with Dr. Burke in 2008. Looking back, I feel so taken advantage of. I was 22, and believed I was “fat”. I had smart lipo performed on my stomach, back, arms and chin area. I was clearly underweight before the surgery. There really was no fat to remove, but he led me to believe that this was a good choice for me. I spent $10,000 for no results. Here are the before photos, I don’t have the after but there was no change. There was no post-op follow up, no questions asked about if I was satisfied. It was a disheartening experience that I regret to this day.
Only schedule with this provider if you like having your time wasted. I drove 35 minutes for my appointment today only to be met by an empty parking lot and closed office. The office never called to apologize for the inconvenience. I'm glad this occurred before having the procedure with him.
Thank you for your photos and providing your history. From these, it appears that your Dr.was able to correct some of your age related facial volume changes with the Voluma injection. Unfortunately, with the combination of loss of elasticity of the skin as one ages, and loss of facial fat in multiple areas, this does not appear to have corrected jowliness with early lack of jaw-neck definition. Although the "gold standard " is a facelift, you may gain tightening of these areas, and a more youthful look with a Silhouette Instalift and avoid a facelift for now. This minimally invasive procedure provides immediate correction which continues to improve as it stimulates your body to make its own collagen, tightening the skin. One of the methods that I use following the consultation - exam is digital predictive imaging with detailed multidimensional volume assessment. With this, one can look a proposed after of your own face prior to undergoing any procedure. Good luck!
Your question regarding a liquid facelift versus a silhouette instalift poses a common concern. Volume replacement with fillers used for the liquid facelift helps restore mild volume loss (from natural loss of facial fat pad volume as one ages). This provides minimal lifting of tissues such as the nasolabial fold (replacing lost cheek volume makes the fold less prominent). If there is also looseness of the skin, a tightening procedure is necessary. This is where the silhouette instalift is used to gently tighten loose facial skin (and upper neck). The lifting is aided by special absorbable cones which provide traction, gently tightening skin. There is also a volume benefit as your body naturally absorbs the cones and threads. Depending on ones needs, optimal treatment may actually involve a combination of the silhouette instalift and facial fillers. If fillers are necessary, I prefer Bellafill if possible due to its longevity. Each case is different, and a consultation with your preferred surgeon is necessary in order to chosse the best treatment plan for you. With more severe skin loosenes and volume loss, surgery (facelift-necklift) may be necessary for the best result.
