Waited a long time before deciding to have the surgery as I wasn’t sure what to do. I had a consultation with Mr Alvi and was confident that everything would be fine, 100% happy with everything, the surgery, aftercare and outcome. Wish I had done it years ago. Very pleased. Could not recommend enough.
The staff are thoroughly professional and welcoming, they go the extra mile to make sure the visit is pleasant from beginning to end. Mr Alvi carried out my facelift in 2018 and has continued to enhance the improvement with fillers. The treatment has been life changing: from not being able to look in a mirror and avoiding social contact with people I hadn’t seen for a few years, I have become much more confident and outgoing. The 12 hour round trip from my home in Scotland is worth every second. I cannot recommend Mr Alvi and his team highly enough.
After over 10 years of wanting a boob job, I’m so excited to actually say I’ve booked it for April 10th. I’ve always had a small chest, which is really out of proportion with my otherwise curvy body. I have wide hips and thigh, a smaller waist and a very flat chest. Having a small chest has effected my confidence through my entire life, not being able to get changed in the gym, not wearing bikinis, and not wearing nice dresses or nice underwear my whole life without feeling uncomfortable or using a very padded bra. Now I’m in a position where I can take the time off work and more importantly afford the operation. After some research over the various options and clinics available, I’ve decided to go with Mr Alvi at The Nuffield, Chester. He was very straight talking, and extremely helpful. There was no hard sell at all, it felt like I was in safe hands and I very excited to see what the final result is. About myself, I am 26 years old with a 34a chest. I weight 65kg and am 5”3. I am going for 450cc silicone unders, hopefully bringing me to around a D cup.
Hey guys! I just wanted to post my journey on here for somebody who may be suffering with the problem I had with asymmetrical breasts. So knowing that I wanted to have this done my whole life.. now at 21 I've finally had my procedure done, I already feel so excited that I might just start to feel 'normal' and wear clothes without feeling self conscious of my breasts looking wonky.. and being confident with my body. My surgeon was absoloutely amazing and I couldn't recommend him enough, Dr Rizwan Alvi from Sthetix clinic in Liverpool. He was realistic and made me well aware of the consequences of having the procedure making sure I knew that he would do his best to correct the symmetry but to not look for perfection. The surgery took place at the Nuffield health hospital in Chester and the nurses couldn't have been more helpful I was very sick from the anaesthetic but they looked after me and made me feel right at home! Here are by before and after pictures just after surgery very swollen my scar looks very sore but I will continue to post pictures throughout my healing process .. currently having abit of discomfort with my post op sports bra but I'm sure I'll get used to it. The implants are allergen round silicone gel 265cc in the left and the closest match in the right (not actually sure of the size on the right as I was quite spaced out when I woke up and saw my surgeon.. so I'll find out in my post op ha!
Considered this surgery for 3 years since having 2 children and losing 5 stone. Left with empty 32DD breasts which needed putting back into position! I have had a few consultations but didn't feel happy until I met Mr Alvi. Surgery went ahead on September 14th! Thrilled with my new boobs. It's day 2 post op and it's the best decision I've made. Updated on 17 Sep 2016: Exhausted today. Maybe I've tried to do too much. Dressings changed and some bleeding which I need to keep an eye on. Really sore and swollen but still thrilled I've finally done it! Only taking paracetamol so maybe I need to use codeine just to take the edge off the pain a bit. Lots of rest planned for today! Updated on 18 Sep 2016: Feeling much better. Pain reduced and still only needing paracetamol. Left breast incision dry now and I've left the dressings on today. Managing to eat again as I'd been really nauseous over the past few days. Sleeping better too which must help! Still swollen and firm but I'm thrilled with how they look. Updated on 20 Sep 2016: Went back to clinic yesterday as I was worried about my left breast. The staff were excellent and after I emailed photos across, I was contacted to go in for a wound check. All steristrips removed and I got to see the incisions which are healing so well. Only one small area is bleeding slightly but no signs of infection! They look so good and I'm really happy. Pain so much better and I'm sleeping really well now- getting used to being propped up! Updated on 22 Sep 2016: Hardly any pain now- just a few twinges which are manageable. Arm movement much improved and my new boobs seems much softer but still high. Can't believe it was a week ago that I had them done. Been into work today for a few hours and love that I'm starting to get back to normal. Just need to be back at the gym as that's really bothering me but its all worth it. Updated on 24 Sep 2016: Getting better by the day. Little twinges here and there but manageable discomfort. Still really tired but that's possibly the upright sleeping as I wake quite frequently during the night. Had to replace tape this morning and small opening at junction of wounds under right breast. Will keep an eye on it and am due back to clinic anyway in a few days. Otherwise feel great. No real change in size but definitely softer at last! Updated on 27 Sep 2016: Had a rough few days with some problems with my wounds and feeling really under the weather. Contacted the clinic and was seen by both of my surgeons yesterday who were really great and provided me with much needed reassurance. I've started antibiotics and already feel a bit better. Being seen again in a few days for dressing changes so hopefully there may be an improvement. Lots of rest and sleep over the past few days which has helped! Updated on 18 Oct 2016: Almost there finally!!! Right side all healed and I'm thrilled with the scars and size. Left side has one small wound remaining which is healing well. Can't believe it's taken me longer than I thought it would but finally able to enjoy my new boobs!! Can't fault the clinic for their aftercare. I've been seen by my surgeon 3 times a week since the op. So pleased with the results.
Have struggled with a hanging tummy for years. Only had one baby 30 years ago but put on 49 lbs. my body never regained it shape and was left with extra skin. Weight then has fluctuated over the years some good and some bad. Recently lost 35lbs with the 5-2 Fast diet which has improved my health. Now ready to do what I need to do to have the body I have wanted for a long time.
I felt old, very flabby and unhappy. I was recommended to see Mr Alvi and it was the best decision ever. I had a previous hysterectomy which left a horrible scar and a big overhang of fat and skin. I had two consultations with him and felt very positive about the surgery. He was very understanding and made me feel totally at ease. Since the surgery I have so much confidence now about how I look and feel that I would highly recommend him. I'm a new person and so happy now.
Whilst pregnant by breasts went to a 34H after having my son and losing a lot of weight they became a deflated 32d with enlarged areolas and slight asymmetry I visited mr alvi at stethix 2013 however due to my son been only two and a single parent I had to put off the surgery as I could not of physically looked after him, I went ahead with surgery on 11th May 2015 mr alvi performed the procedure at the Catherine Medical suite in Liverpool womens the staff and hospital were amazing couldn't do enough for you , mr alvi is extremely experienced and honest and explains things thoroughly I had a 275cc under the muscle just to fill out what I had and give a bit more volume along with the lift I am nearly 3 weeks in and really happy with my results Updated on 15 Jul 2015: My new boobs are over two months old now and really happy with them , wish my nipples were slightly smaller but other than that so glad had it done scars have really faded 4 weeks on from the procedure I had a gastro bug and was really ill for a week I think this slowed down healing but other than that great
I've always wanted a boob job ever since I can remember. My left boob never actually properly developed but I had a nice pretty (and little) right breast. I was so embarrassed that I had never told anyone, especially as the rest of the women in my family had majorly large boobs! I was always trolling the Internet and came across tubular breasts and diagnosed myself. I am sure lots of girls are with me... I've only ever worn padded bras, afraid to take my bra off and wear bikinis. It was only till recently I was in the financial position to get my breasts altered and I have a very supportive partner who loves me for who I am. He never once pushed me to have it done :). I'm sharing my story as I never found a similar one on the Internet and there must be girls out there like me! When I turned 22, that was it. I'd had enough growing time and their time was up! My first Internet searches lead me to MYA, Transform and Harley Medical. Firstly, MYA was a pretty girl dressed up with her boobs above her chin... Not a look I wanted to go for. Transform were a little better, but again I'd only have one appointment with the surgeon. Harley Medical were absolutely pestering me even before I had my first appointment so it stopped there. After being fed up with these, I came across a clinic with 5* Reviews and lots of customer satisfaction in Liverpool called Sthetix. From the moment I called I felt assured with them. I managed to have several appointments with my surgeon Mr Alvi, no cover girl! I felt that he obviously took the time to invest in his patients, just like I was investing in him. He's been a breast reconstruction surgeon and I felt that was along the lines I needed to get the boobs I'd wanted all my life. I decided on 335/345 cc as I had assymetry there was only a certain range of allergan I could go for. Ideally I wanted 350-60 but there was no inbetween range! Mr Alvi recommended I go for a middle range size to not only stretch my skin but to avoid an uplift on my next augmentation. After months of rescheduling work and arranging everything, the big day arrived. I was greeted in The Catherine Medical Centre and taken to my private suite. I was first on the list and taken all my precautions seriously. No alcohol for two weeks, make-up, nails, food and even had no drink from 6:30 AM. I had my magazines, throat lozenges and lip balm at the ready. I met my surgeon and anaesthetist and then off to surgery! I had told the aneasthetist my mother wakes up early on a aneasthetic, so he must of gave me a little extra as I was slurring words waking up, badly! My nurse Sharon looked after me brilliantly and poured my drinks etc. What to consider: your dignity goes out of the window! I couldn't pull my nickers up, had a serious lack of appetite and you are by yourself a large majority of the time. I was so relieved to see my family, of which the centre were very accommodating with no strict visiting times and offered plenty of drinks. I am glad I stayed over night because I needed the assistance and pain relief (my partner can't cope so well now I'm at home). My 'boob band' really chaffed my armpits and took a good 24 hours of this before the nurse put my bra on before discharge. The car ride home was so uncomfortable! Why had no one mentioned this? Also, sleeping is in drips and drabs and when you eventually get comfortable, it's hard to get up! I am 3 days post op now and in conflict with my boobs. I need them to move down so ive read not to have your bra on as gravity helps. Surely my surgeon should have told me this? I bought loose and tight bras, but I think I'm going to wear no bra during day and then have the support at night till my check up. I just dot want a bigger version of what I had! Plus lots of bruising has now surfaced as you can see. I will keep you updated! Updated on 13 Mar 2015: Updated on 15 Mar 2015: The pain finally died down considerably today! My left arm is still weaker than the right, plus the left boob throbs allot more. I put that down to the fact the left was smaller and is stretching :). I'm washing at least once a day but this acne is developing. Especially on my lefty ????. What's that about?! Lol. Sleeping is still disturbed but my appetite is coming back again which is a good thing. I can't wait for them to drop! Updated on 19 Mar 2015: I'm happy with the way my boobs are going and I'm so excited to get the plasters off tomorrow! Left boob has lots of shooting pains whereas my right is pain free! Managed to clean up yesterday and have a shower, still can't wash my hair though :(. Sleep is still bad as I can't get comfy and wake up all the time. I might get some sleeping pills to help, what do you reckon? Tried a nice Lacey bra over my sports bra in m&s and a 32 D seemed to fit. It's really exciting after having nothing all these years, another few weeks to go before I can get measured... Can't wait! The bruise keeps developing in my leftie but surgeon and hospital assure me its nothing to worry about. It doesn't hurt so I'll stop thinking about it. Any one else had a lot of bruising afterwards? Updated on 24 Mar 2015: I started to hit the gym again yesterday, feel like I've put so much weight on! The other half doesn't know how to cook so all I've ate is rubbish. I'm only walking fast paced on the treadmill but feel better for it. I decided to cheekily try a bra on and got a 32D... They do look like they're spilling out a bit. Another 4 weeks to go before I can get measured, can't wait! I have a bra wish list lol. Pain seems to have gone now but I still have trouble at night. I started driving gain yesterday and my left arm simply can't put the car in 5th gear. I'm sure I'll be able to by e end of the week :). Updated on 8 Apr 2015: I've not been really paying attention to my boobs as much due to my daily life going back to normal. However I am worried! They get breathed every night (no bra or strap) for an hour and massaged by my boyfriend with a Cocoa butter which he loves lol! The left one is falling perfectly now and it previously had no lower pole. The right has took a turn for the worse and is still sitting pretty high. Hopefully things will change and they're on the way down? I've been going the gym but only on the treadmill and stepper. Am I doing too much? Just two weeks to go before I can wear a bra, I am even buying a new wardrobe! I can't wait! Is this normal for my boobs to be dropping unevenly?! Updated on 22 Apr 2015: We have a new puppy in town so I decided to go shopping before we got her. I thought id be at the most a D cup so I got a little push up bra to wear underneath a new top of bought once I got the six week clear.... However I went to M&S go be sized on their six week anniversary last night and I'm an E! She said I could get away with a 32DD too but a 32E gosh! It's what dreams are made of. I've gone out and bought loads of boobie tops and dresses, I can't wait to wear them! I have my post op appointment tomorrow so I look forward to discussing my major assymetry at the moment. Will keep you updated!
Well at last I can finally say, 'I've done it', I had my operation yesterday and now on the road to recovery :-) so now I'm on the road to recovery I thought I would write down my story.. I can't say how long ive been wanting a br as it seems like forever, I went to my gp numerous times complaining of back/neck/shoulder ache, feeling worthless, unable to partake in sports etc and 3 times I was turned down by the NHS, even though at 5'6 and 10 stone with 32J boobies I fitted the criteria. I have been fortunate enough to be in the position now that I can pay privately for my op and sprints many hours crawling through the internet, looking up different companies, surgeons, finding out as much information as possible about the procedure and stumbled upon this forum, which has been a wealth of knowledge :-) I had 1 consultation with one firm but wasn't overly happy that even though the surgeons were indeed very good surgeons they didn't specialize in breast procedures but did preform them along with others. Also my 1st consultation was free but was with the sales rep rather than the surgeon and if I wanted a 2nd consultation, this would then be with the surgeon of my choice but I had to pay £500 upfront and commit myself with the company. The surgeon I've gone with runs his own private clinic, is a nhs surgeon and a specialist in breast surgery. My 1st appointment with him was free and with the consultant who would preform my operation, my 2nd consultation was with him again, going through the whole procedure, what I could expect, he was realistic about the pain, the recovery, what could happen etc. I was happy with my appointments and the information I was given and booked in for my procedure, which was to take place in 2 weeks time from my 2nd consultation. I've now wittered on for a bit, so I will write up d day on another review :-)
As I am based in UK , I will base my answer in the situation in UK. The price for a BA varies quite a lot. This may reflect the experience of the surgeon, the quality of implants used, the quality of the hospital where surgery takes place, the care package on offer etc. Having said all of that, be aware of charlatans. The experience can be exaggerated. Qualifications can be presented to confuse the patients ( ‘FRCS’ dose not signify training in plastic surgery) check the Suegeon has FRCS ( plast ) and it is easy to check if they are on GMC specialist register. This registration can also give you a good idea of how many years they have been on the register and hence what is their experience. Check out the reviews on the web. Ask family and friends, get a recommendation A good, highly experienced and fully qualified plastic surgeon would have carefully worked out their prices and are unlikely to negotiate. Finally, do go and have a few consultations, a face to face meeting will give you good idea as to the Suegeon you can trust. It’s your health and well-being. The most expensive are not always the best but the cheaper ones may not be your safe choice.
Thank you for an excellent question. It depends on what your concerns are. If your concern is Breast feeding, then it is unlikely that a Breast augmentation will affect your ability to Breast feed. However, changes to the Breast during and after pregnancy are a different ball game. Some times, breasts can change and droop as a result of pregnancy changes. My suggestion is always to wait till you have finished your family. This then allows your plastic surgeon to evaluate the size, shape etc of your breast and suggest the most appropriate course of action. Thus may be just an augment or a combination of augmentation and a Breast uplift. Hope this helps and good luck.
thank you for your question. We see and deal with this type of problem on a regular basis. Depending on the findings at the time of a face to face consultation, a plan can be made to suit the patient. Options include different size implants, augmentation with fat transfer with or without breast lift on one side. Once you understand the likely results of each of these procedures and the risks involved, you can make a decision with the help of your surgeon as to the best option/s for you. Make sure you see an experienced and fully trained Plastic surgeon.
Hi, From what you describe, it may be that you are developing a capsular contracture. This is more common in reconstruction cases. I suggest that you consult your plastic surgeon as they may be able to confirm the diagnosis and suggest appropriate treatment.
We advise our patients not to rub the botox treated area and not to apply any makup to the area for 4 hours. Same applies to fillers but we advise no rubbing for treated area for 48 hours.
