Day before surgery: Dr. Kilaru prescribed me Lorazampam to take the night before surgery so that I could sleep through my anxiety. I honestly wasn't afraid at all and was just super excited to go through with the process! Day of surgery: Woke up at 5:30 am for a 6:00 am surgical check in time. Process was very smooth, where we completed paperwork and they took a urine sample. Within 20 minutes I was taken to the back and asked to change into my surgical garments. The nurse took my blood pressure, started the IV and put the blood pressure monitors on my arms and calves. The anesthesiologist Dr. Wong, came around to say hello, cracked a few jokes and let me know that I had nothing to be worried about. Shortly after Dr. Kilaru came in to mark me up for the operating room. Next thing I know I'm being wheeled into the operating room. I didn't even know when the medication was going into the iv, last I remembered was asking the team how I'd know if I'm getting sleepy and I was out! I woke up approximately 2 hours later in the recovery room by the nurse who offered me water and apple juice. I was completely coherent and hopped out of bed to go home. I've been home now for the last 4 hours and it's been very smooth sailing. No pain, no discomfort and I haven't needed any assistance from the boyfriend. If I was eating my entire surgery day experience it would be a solid 10! Updated on 11 Dec 2023: 3 days PO and still feeling absolutely amazing! Also had my post-op appointment with Dr. Kilaru today and he was ecstatic with how well everything has been healing. For some added context, I have minimal swelling on the top part of my breasts which the doctor mentioned is due to the fact I don’t have large pectoral muscles. Additionally, I also have full sensation and feeling in both nipples and the implants have already started to settle into the pockets. I feel truly blessed that my experience was virtually painless, with no discomfort or swelling as I understand this is not typical for most women that go under the muscle. Updated on 12 Dec 2023: Boobies are getting squishy and already feel a lot more Mobile! Updated on 5 Jan 2024: Doctor said my boobs have pretty much fully settled due to the fact I have no swelling. Got sized today and am a VS 34DDD (from a 34C)! Implants were allergen natrelle 375cc moderate profile
Just had my tummy tuck yesterday. Went for a consult last month and booked right away. Can’t rate the after care yet but so far the entire process with the Dr office, care team and surgery center have been wonderful. I had lots of questions and even a lot of pre op anxiety and they were great easing my fears. Updated on 20 Nov 2021: No pain at all but had a really bad headache and was nauseous I’m sure from meds. Trying to find my comfort in getting in and out of bed and best way to not strain my abs. Eating rather light but luckily already had a BM and lucky i remembered the stool softeners. Drains had a lot of fluid but seems to be slowing some. Updated on 22 Nov 2021: Went to the Dr today for a check up. As thought, I’m swollen but it’s all normal. Questioned the changing colors of my drain fluid which is also normal. Switched to Tylenol and can finally shower **yay** i was able to get into bed alone today ad the car for my appointment. Walked in and out of the Dr office and was fine. A little tired because it was more than I’ve done in 4 days but felt nice to get up and out Updated on 24 Nov 2021: Today was probably my hardest. Still no pain or anything but got up and did a couple dishes (literally 3) took a shower, washed my hair etc. Felt extremely drained and a little sore. The numbness in my stomach feels weird and uncomfortable. Not sure if others had it but I’ve had a lot of gas since surgery. Stomach gets like these flutter feeling. All in all, prayers answered that it’s been a good recovery so far. Updated on 28 Nov 2021: Still going great. Finally was able to shower alone and do small things like **wipe** myself. Again, still no pain, a little sore but I’m definitely listening to my body and taking everything pretty easy. It’s hard as I’m just up and doing so much daily but trying to just relax and sit. I will admit day 7-8 were a little rough. I was really sore after going out for thanksgiving and although i literally went to my sisters and sat on a chair as everyone catered to me, you don’t realize how much talking and being “present” can exhaust your body. Plus i was sad i move slower than I’d like and ate crappy and had a stomach ache. I think i will get one drain out tomorrow as I’m having 5ml a day on one side but 60-70 on the other. So sure one will be removed. A couple things to note over the past 11 days: 1. I was really cold all the time 2. Needed assistance to get up as my abs hurt 3. Drain area is very tender 4. I’ve had a lot of gas. Burping/passing gas 5. Eating is low. Can only eat a few bites at a time 6. My tailbone has hurt more than any incision or anything. 7. Getting comfy and sleeping through the night is impossible. Updated on 1 Dec 2021: Not sure what i ate (or didn’t since i haven’t eaten yet this morning) but swelling is tight in my abs. Just soreness but uncomfortable to sit. I did have coffee which I’ve had daily but maybe today it just hit different. Incision from drain removal is looking good. Other drain is still in and leaking a little from the side but other than that… i can’t wait to get it out. It’s so tender. Updated on 12 Dec 2021: Still doing good and has both drain removed now. Drain site is very itchy and red, also have a inflamed incision line. Dr said it’s fine but going to my actually Dr tomorrow to make sure. Pics are off drain holes. Updated on 17 Dec 2021: Hit 4 weeks yesterday and it’s been such a great healing process so far. I did have an inflamed “mad” incision area but is better by the day. So the itchy red rash from the drains was from me using the antibacterial cream too long (generic store bought neosporin). Other than that, i was standing up straight by 7 days BUT still find myself getting sore and hunching a little. I’ve done little things like go to a movie and dinner (not the same day) and notice i do get sore and exhausted after. So I’m still taking it slow. All in all, again, it’s been a completely pain free procedure. My Dr is fabulous! But i have had mild soreness of which i immediately just listen to my body and stop. Updated on 26 Feb 2022: Loving my results. Still some bumpy areas along incision line which is scar tissue. I just keep massaging. Really wish my stretch marks were lower like dr mentioned they would be, but I did notice I feel they spread again and I obviously couldn't be stretched much more. Abs look fantastic and lipo to hips and public are is great.
I had bilateral mastectomies and tissue expanders placed due to breast cancer. He has the best bedside manner and takes time with you if you need it. His staff are so nice and caring as well. It's not common to find an entire office and staff that are caring, but this one is! Highly recommend him!!!
My name is Nicole and I am 37 years old. I have had 5 children. I have always wanted a tummy tuck. My youngest of all my babies is 10 now, my oldest being almost 21. I had a breast augmentation 8 years ago, and wished I had done it then. But was too afraid. I have always heard horror stories of tummy tucks and how invasive it is. I have a low tolerance for pain so another reason I knew it might not be a good idea for me. I decided last year after the summer was over that I was done walking around in a bikini and having a some what decent body but just thrashed and ruined stomach with my stretch marks. My stretch marks were so thick I had tried every lotion, ointment, maderma, you name it I tried it. Nothing worked. I had a child come up to me at a public pool while I was laying out trying to get a tan say to me..."what happened to your stomach" my kids and husbands nick name has always been tiger for me as well. Because I have stripes on my stomach. So last year I decided no more. I went back to my wonderful doctor who did my breast augmentation Dr. Kilaru in Fremont California. And he did a consult and said lets do it. So I scheduled my surgery date and from then on was the worry and excitement stage. I went through so many emotions just making this decision. It was difficult emotionally I think more than anything. I chose not to tell everyone, only people who I trusted and loved. You will get mixed signals from some people in your life. so be choosy who you tell. I researched and read as much as I could but not too much because I didn't want to scare myself out of it. This site I found most helpful. There are allot of honest women on here sharing their stories and it really really helped me prepare for my surgery. That's Why I decided to share mine. The day came of surgery and I was a basket case. Crying, scared, and trying to tell myself I would be able to get through it. Managing my pain was the scariest thing for me. I have a low tolerance for pain but also everything upsets my stomach. Especially pain medication. Even Advil upsets my stomach so I was overly scared that I would be in too much pain and not be able to manage it due to my sensitive stomach. So I expressed this concern to my doctor and he reassured me that anti nauseous medication would help with that and he would prescribe that as well. If I can stress one thing... Make sure you have a good doctor. Make sure you research them and they are certified . That the facility which they operate is legitimate and the anesthesiologist is certified as well. Make sure your doctor understands all your concerns and needs as we are all different. I have to say that if I didn't have such an amazing doctor and his staff. l I would not have went through with it. It is because of them and their willingness to work with me and help me through all my concerns that I even went through with this massive surgery. Now on to the surgery itself.... I honestly don't remember much from the first week at all. That's how heavily medicated I was and how much I just slept. Which is good. Sleep if you can. Stay in bed! Don't move too much. As long as you rest and follow doctors orders you will be ok. I'm not going to lie it was rough. I am on week 4 now and its still rough sometimes. The first week is the hardest. Its not so much the surgery that is the worst part. Its everything the surgery causes that is the hardest part. I'm going to go over a few of the things that were the hardest for me and what helped each of them.... 1. Your back is going to hurt!! Not a little, probably allot. If you can get a hospital bed cheap from criagslist, sometimes they are even giving them away on that site. Or rent one. I got one and it was a life saver. I set it up in my living room so I wasn't tucked away in my room and forgotten about. I wanted to be with everyone and all the craziness of my family, its what helped me allot. I also kept a heating pad right next to me at all times and plugged in so all I had to do was reach over and push a button to turn it on. The heat will bring some relief. Also Showers. When your doctor says you can take a shower... take one its amazing. I also put a plastic outdoor folding chair in my shower to sit on while I took showers. It will feel good to rest your back and sit up straight and then add the water its great! Set your drains on your lap or across your legs. 2. Constipation! This was by far one of the worst things I had to deal with!! I took the stool softeners prescribed by my doctor. I tried drinking MiraLax. and nothing. 5 days went by and I thought I was going to loose my mind if I didn't go to the bathroom! So Milk of Magnesia, Phillips brand particularly saved my life. Literally. Drank the most dosage you can drink and an hour later I was on the toilet. Not going to say it was easy but at least it worked. But caution don't drink too much, or you will go from one problem to another!! If you know what I mean. 3. Drains. These were the next hardest thing I had to deal with. They are extremely annoying and painful at times. They may get irritated around the hole of the entrance and where they are stitched in. I found that using neosporin around the areas after a shower was helpful. But honestly they will just be a pain in the ass until they come out. And when they come out how glorious it will be!! They are there for a reason...so just let them do their job. You will feel like your stuck with them forever but I promise you. You aren't. 4. Appetite & Eating. This will be very different for a while. I didn't have much of an appetite. I would find myself wanting something and as soon as it was brought to me I didn't want it. everything tasted funny to me, and rather very spicy. It was weird. I stuck to a toast and crackers diet and that's about all I could tolerate. DRINK WATER! If I can stress one thing you need to drink water! lots and lots of it. Those were the worst of it for me. The rest is tollerable. Sometimes the things I mentioned above would almost send me over the edge. There was allot of crying and frustration those first two weeks. Once you get past the first couple weeks and get the drains out you will feel like a new woman. I'm not going to tell you its easy because its not. It is by far the hardest thing I've ever put my body through. Be patient be patient be patient. I still have to tell myself this. I am still not fully recovered. I can almost stand up good and straight now. Back to driving, and some light house work and errands. But as soon as I do too much in a day I'm in pain. My back will start hurting and my muscles will start hurting and then I start feeling an all around yucky. And I have to stop what I'm doing and rest. So if I can give any advice its to prepare for your surgery the best you can. Get you family and a good support system on board because your going to need the help. REST REST REST. If you start to feel better don't over do it. Take your med's and your pain medicines! Follow your doctors orders and be patient. In the end it will all be worth it. There is light at the end of this long tunnel! ~Nicole
I had 7 consultations before deciding on Dr. Kilaru for my procedures. He answered all my questions before I asked them. Dr. Kilaru never rushed me and gave me his undivided attention in all my visits to his office. He and his wonderful staff of beautiful ladies made me feel comfortable in a time of nervousness. I had lost 100lbs and I had lots of loose skin, and deflated boobs that sagged. Dr. Kilaru performed a tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation on me. I am extremely happy with my results!! He never made me feel like he was only interested in the money. I felt completely cared for by Dr. Kilaru. Ladies please listen to your doctor when he tells you not to stretch or lift anything after surgery. I tore my stitches under my right breast and I had Dr. Kilaru monitor it on a weekly basis and finally stitch it back up when it was ready. This man is a miracle worker. If you're thinking of having a procedure done and you haven't found the right doctor then look no further! Dr. Kilaru is the best of the best.
I spent 52 years helping everyone else and finally decided it was time for me! I had a breat lift, augmentation and some corrective surgery to make my breasts match. I LOVE the results. Dr. Kilaru was very professional. He explained everything in detail and gave me options. I took all the time I needed before deciding what was best for me. After surgery they stayed in contact with me. When I was concerned about some drainage, they had me come to the office that same day (and I was always told to come in at any time - they would rather look and reasssure me that things are ok than have me worried). I felt as if they treated me as one of their family memebers.
