I approached Dr. Sabini 10 years ago about a facelift. I was 47 years old and started to see signs of aging. Dr. Sabini was very honest and said that I was not ready. I continued to see Dr. Sabini from time to time for small things. I met with him again and asked him about a facelift He reminded me that it had been 10 years since we had last spoke about this and he felt I was ready. He is a very honest man and very conservative in his approach to surgery. My biggest concern was I did not want to look “done”. He assured me that I would still look like me after the procedure. I met with Lori, Who is an absolute doll, and she walked me through all the steps leading to the surgery. I am nine days out from having a neck, lower and mid face lift along with a peel under my eyes. I cannot say enough about Dr. Sabini and his entire staff. Everyone showed care and compassion. Their anesthesiologist Russ is an incredibly nice man. He made me feel completely at rest prior to going under. I was under anesthesia for approximately 4 1/2 hours and then I Stayed in their on site overnight recovery room. I had a private nurse for the entire time I was there. She, too, was super nice and helpful. I’ve barely slept the night after my surgery but I was in no pain. My nurse said it was due to the great sleep I had when I was under anesthesia LOL The next morning my bandages and drains were removed and I was sent home with a list of instructions. I have to say there’s absolutely no pain at all involved in this procedure. Any discomfort is easily eliminated with a couple of Tylenol. At day nine all my stitches have been removed with the exception of two at each ear and two staples on each side of the back of my head. My suggestion is to follow all the doctors orders leading up to and after the surgery. I’ve barely bruised, I have some yellowing along were the stitches once were. I have a small purple bruise under my chin. From what I can see I am going to love the results. I am so very numb and my neck is very tight. I am told this may last for a little while. I have complete confidence in Dr. Sabini and his entire staff.
Day one sat in chair received Valium and topical. I was a bit nervous about the procedure and both helped practically making the procedure itself really tolerable I actually could not believe how fast it was done. The edges burned a bit which were the areas closest to the intreated skin, but not long. I got up and walked to check out. Then the burn started to kick in. I would describe it as a wave of burning or waves. You definitely want someone to drive you so you can squirm around in your seat for an hour. An hour was all it burned for and it may have been less had I taken the ibuprofen sooner. I would say it is more than a sunburn but very doable because you know it will end. I have a high tolerance for pain and I think most could handle this burn. After the burn everything is uneventful just stay on top of washing with cetaphil and coating thick with aquaphor. Day 1-3 no real change in the skin. You may think it didn’t work. Day 3 it starts to brown. Day 4 it appears that some layers of skin are coming off. Hard to tell if it’s the aquaphor skin or both. The aquaphor covers the brown skin. Day 5 things get a little pink and red. The itching also starts up. Wear gloves to sleep in. On day 7 I woke up scratching my left eye. Dr. Checked me out says all looks good. Put aquaphor on two red spots for two more days. Makeup is a go then. Day 8 under eyes skin looks pinkish brown I compare the look to a recovering black eye. Updated on 20 Oct 2019: Before with makeup. Makeup makes lines worse no matter what you use in my opinion. I am in the sun allot for many years so eyes are aged for 42 years allot of smiling also. My concern that I ward about often was the skin may become lighter well mine is an exact match as it was before not lighter at all. There is a pinkish brown but that will go away and dr says collagen is still in production it will tighten up over the next few weeks. Still a bit itchy. Updated on 6 Jan 2020: Smiling with makeup- actually feel under eyes look way better without the makeup. The makeup actually defines wrinkles that remain. Softening of the existing deep wrinkles I had. They did not resolve as much as I had hoped but this type of peel can be done again.
35-year-old tired of looking tired. Inherited my mothers big beautiful eyes along with the bags! I've always had them as long as I can remember. They've become more prominent with age and sleepless nights with babies! Had Lower lid transcongunctival blepharoplasty with CO2 laser under eyes performed 4/21/16. Originally went to consult thinking filler for hollow tear trough would be in order but Dr Sabini said this would just add volume to an already puffy area. Updated on 23 Apr 2016: Really sore today. The burning sensation seems to be worse then the previous 2 days. Most likely because I started washing the eyes with gentle cleanser as instructed which is starting to debride the area exposing underlying raw skin. Still using ice packs about 6-8 times/day for 20 minutes. I notice the swelling is greatly improved after applying compress but it only lasts for an hour then swells back up. Updated on 25 Apr 2016: Blistering under eyes has improved but skin is still pretty raw. Continuing to wash and apply aquaphor several times a day. My right eye is red and swollen, this appeared 2 days ago. I'm using erythromycin ointment 3x daily. I don't think it's infected. Updated on 28 Apr 2016: My eyes have stayed red for several days now. It looks like I may have developed chemosis? It's very noticeable in the outer corners. Looks like a sac of fluid along the lash line. Tried to put makeup under eyes for the first time but it just caked up. Follow-up appointment today. I'm supposed to return to work tomorrow, I don't know if I can! Still some open areas under the eyes. I've also noticed without the aquaphor my lower lids become dry and tight and they pull downward. Hoping doc has some words of encouragement. Updated on 30 Apr 2016: So I was prescribed TobraDex. The swelling is uncomfortable and looks terrible! Hoping it will resolve soon. I'm starting to worry about the lower lids pulling down. Staff said it was due to swelling. Updated on 22 May 2016: Still red under eyes but swelling is gone. I'm not totally happy with the result. I couldn't quite make sense of why I felt like the result aged me but looking at my post op pics I think it's because of the volume loss. I thought I looked great when my cheeks were swollen, now I see a great deal of hollowness where there used to be tissue. It has made my face look heavy on the lower part but I haven't gained weight. Updated on 8 Oct 2016: I'm still not thrilled with the outcome. I think the hollowness under the eyes actually aged me. And I don't recall having the deep wrinkles under the eyes.
Doctor Sabini , left my face asymmetrical.I had basal cancer near the right nostril; the process lasted 3 years with 4 surgeries and 3 corrections of course the insurance payed I have scars from the top of my skull to my mouth. My non keloid scars and the tension in my eye brows ,nose and mouth are very obvious. I am not happyOlga ferrer
Dr. Sabini did surgery on my nose and it was literally stitched back on over to one side and up inside the other nostril! It was so horrific and devastating! He assured me that after it healed he would fix it. After his nurse redacted shocked to the sight of the injury he shut her down so fast trying to act as if he didn't notice it initially. After I endured 7 months of hell and waiting to get it fixed he did not do the surgery we discussed 3 times and instead just opened up the one nostril that was almost closed from the botched sutures! At one point he even tried to charge me to fix the injury he created because it was cosmetic. When I expressed that he created the problem he came up with an excuse to why he couldn't fix it. Now I have so many problems like the fact that every time I workout it gets red and throbs. Not to mention the fact that every time I look in the mirror my stomach turns. Now I have to have another surgeon fix his mistake! Please don't let him touch your face because if he screws it up he will not fix it after promising to fix it. This has taken over a year of my life seeing something in the mirror that is an obvious problem and my self confidence has suffered among dealing with functional issues as well. He treated me like I was such a pain in the ass every time I tried to have him rectify the problem.
I consulted with five different doctors for this surgery. My complaint to all was facial sagging and bags. I foolishly chose the most expensive of the five to insure the best outcome. Instead, I have disappointing results that make me look half done. The doctor told me that because I didn’t point to my jowls during the consultation that he thought they didn’t bothered me so he didn’t remove them. Yep, he blamed me. Actually, I pointed at nothing on my face but that didn’t stop him from the surgery. I wish it did. It was then and there that I knew I’d be looking for a new doctor for a revision. There were other problems as well and you guessed it, my fault. Because of Covid I haven’t had my revision as of yet. The only good thing is that I can hide my face behind a mask. I do not recommend this doctor. Zero stars are a more fitting raring.
I had my lower face and sub-mental area treated. Dr. Sabini's nurse performed the treatment and was very thorough as to what to expect during and after the treatment. She explained how it would soften lines and tighten slightly, I would not see results as I would with a surgical procedure like a face lift. She made the experience as comfortable as possible. I did feel some discomfort over the jawline area but overall it was very tolerable. I may require an additional treatment if I wanted further changes. I was very happy with the entire treatment process and the entire staff. I have recommend this treatment to my family and friends. I am interested in trying on my brow area next.
Unfortunately not everyone is an ideal candidate for Ultherapy. First we always recommend a consultation to review your area of concern to allow us to discuss all you options. It depends on your skin tone and elasticity and good genes are always helpful. Sometimes there are multiple concerns in this one area including submental fat, loose sagging skin and platysmal bands. Ultherapy can help tighten the skin to a degree and soften lines but will not address the other two issues. Sometimes Kybella or Coolsculpting can be done in combination to address the submental fat. The only way to tighten the platysmal bands would be a surgical procedure we call a platysmaplasty. So the best option if you are interested and candidate would be a lower facelift which would address all three problems. But as i started a consultation is the best way to find out what will be ideal for you.
Thank you for your question. The results of Ultherapy varies from person to person. We cannot stop the aging process but helps slow it down. Treatments like Ultherapy with a combination of a good skin care regimen, sun protection and healthy lifestyle can extend ones results. It does not replace surgery but I see most clients perform this treatment every two years to maintain their desired look.
