So just like everyone else on here I have hated my nose since I can remember. Didn't really get picked on or made fun of but I've always felt like I couldn't do or wear certain things because of my nose (hats, wear my hair up, wear very little makeup) I feel like it will make my nose stand out even more than it does now. I'm in the process of saving money right now and I hope I can have to procedure this summer. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. Updated on 27 Dec 2014: I should be able to get my rhinoplasty this summer! I'm gonna be super excited Updated on 2 Jan 2015: I just scheduled my consultation with Dr.Shah on February 13th! So excited Updated on 3 Feb 2015: So it's getting closer to my consultation (2/13) and I was thinking, is it a bad idea that my surgeon would be 3 hours from where I live? How many check ups do you need to go to? Would I have to stay in Chicago for a while before going home? I'm kinda lost right now help!!! Updated on 12 Feb 2015: Tomorrow is the day I meet dr shah! I'm so excited but what questions should I ask? Please help! Updated on 16 Feb 2015: Updated on 28 Feb 2015: Scheduled my surgery for April 2nd! Can't wait!!!!! Updated on 28 Feb 2015: Updated on 19 Mar 2015: Getting nervous Updated on 2 Apr 2015: I'm super nervous and super excited at the same time. I slept like a baby last night, so that's good. Dr Shah called me last night to make sure that I was ready for today. He told we would be going over the pictures again and doing any last minute touches. I have to be there at 10am to check in and surgery is at 11am. I will keep you guys posted!! ?????????????? Updated on 5 Apr 2015: You can't really tell yet Updated on 6 Apr 2015: So day 1 was not too bad. Me and my boyfriend got to the surgicenter at 10am to check in for a 11am surgery. I was a nervous wreck!!! I was shaking and trying to stay calm while waiting for them to call my name. It gets to be 10:45am by the time they call me back. So I give a urine sample change into a hospital gown and socks and tie my hair up and cover it with a protector. They set my IV up and start some fluids and got me a warm blanket. Anesthesiologist came in to sign papers then Dr. Shah came in. He was very nice and asked if I was ready to have some fun lol. They took me back to the OR and I scooted onto to operating table. They told me to lay back and relax and gave me some medicine to help relax me through my IV. I felt a burning sensation running up my arm and I was out. Woke up with some minor pain, my nose was burning more than anything like when you inhale chlorine water through your nose ( best way I can discribe it ) the nurse gave me pain medicine and anti nausea medicine. My boyfriend came back. I had some water and some animal crackers before leaving the surgicenter at 2:30 my surgery was 2 hours long. He had a 4 1/2 hour ride home due to Chicago traffic. Got home around 7:30pm ready for bed!! I could not sleep the way home. I had everything ready when I got home. Got in bed had 2 pillows and an ice pack and tried to sleep. I probably only slept a total of an hour. I know this was long sorry. Lerner know if you want days 2-4 nothing really much happened. Thanks guys!!!! :) Updated on 7 Apr 2015: I can't wait! Updated on 14 Apr 2015: Updated on 16 Apr 2015: 2 week update: I still feel some pressure and it still hurts once in a while. Swelling is going down and I can start to see what it is really gonna look like! I absolutely love it already. Updated on 21 Apr 2015: Can you tell the difference? Updated on 26 Apr 2015: I can see more definition now and the swelling is going down even more. Updated on 6 May 2015: Updated on 23 Jan 2016: As you can see in the picture I had a small bump before. Dr Shah preformed a rasping procedure in his office to remove the bump. If you guys wanna know more about the procedure let me know. The rasping really helped! I'm only 2 days post rasping so I'm looking forward to see what it looks like when some more swelling goes down
