I am a gym girl. I workout atleast 3-4 times a week, but for some reason I could never get rid of the stomach pouch that I had. I was able to see major changes in every area of my body but that one. I did have a myomectomy about 4 years ago and the extra pouch never went away after that. I have some big things coming up career wise and decided now was the time to take the extra step to fully get to my body goals (I had already reached my weight goal). I was recommended to Dr Long from a previous patient he had who I thought looked amazing. I met Dr Long at his consultation and immediately knew that was who I wanted to go with. His spirit is so soft and I felt at peace with him. SURGERY DAY: Dr Long and Jessica were amazing. I had awake Tumescent Lipo. They gave me level 3 of laughing gas before starting but I asked them to keep it off because I didn't like how high it made me feel so I did do my entire surgery without any sedation (gutsy, I know lol). The surgery was 95% painless. I only leave 5% because of the little stings that you get from the lidocaine injections. Also, I am Christian and I loved that he had up pictures about his faith and he also played the Bible while doing my surgery which calmed me and gave me so much peace. GOING HOME: I was glad I had my mom's help because you can't really move much and you leak like crazy on Day 1! Make SURE to keep padding and towels WHEREVER you lay including the car! Other than that I was little uncomfortable just from my torso being full of lidocaine but no other issues besides that. DAY AFTER SURGERY: This was HANDS DOWN the worst day. I saw Dr Long that morning for him to change my garments and take photos. You literally feel like you got hit with a truck because of the soreness. I definitely advise keeping your pain meds with you, and this is coming from someone with a high pain tolerance. It was so hard to sleep. I barely had any sleep this night due to discomfort. And I did have to end up switching back to my original waist trainer because the new one he gave me that morning was too tight to where I could not breathe. Swelling is tremendous at this point as well. 2 DAYS POST OP: Today was better than yesterday definitely but still having swelling and soreness which is normal. I also noticed redness today in my lower abdomen. I have been moving around a lot and making sure I'm not just laying in bed. I have ran errands with my family and everything (still keeping restrictions on doing any strenuous activity). I'm excited to see what my body will look like a week from now. It's cool seeing the everyday changes but so far I LOVE my body! So glad I finally did it! Updated on 25 Sep 2023: I would highly suggest anyone getting this to make sure you are able to take atleast a week or more off of work because the post-op aftercare is a beast. The compression that you have to do daily has honestly been the worst part of everything for me especially when it comes to going to sleep. I’m not yet at the point where the compression is comfortable and it has been kind of difficult being able to get good sleep while wearing the garments. I can’t wait for this phase to be over.
My experience with Dr. Long has been nothing short of excellence! Excellent bedside manner, personable, knowledgeable, and just a great doc. You can tell that he loves what he does. Had sx on 8/20/20. I am still slightly sore but most pain is from the faja because I have a long torso it pulls in the wrong places. Otherwise, healing nicely and super pleased with my results!
I decided to get lipo after years of struggling with my mid section. Losing weight would cause me to lose the hourglass shape I had & I never seemed to lose the weight from my belly so I mainly focused on working out. So I decided on lipo. My normal weight is 132 pounds and I am 5 foot 2 or 3. Day of procedure I was 136. Dr. Long is awesome. I decided on Dr. Long because I wanted to go with someone in Dallas and someone who ONLY does lipo and/or fat transfers. Although, I wasn’t interested in a fat transfer, I felt he knew the overall shape I was aiming for because that’s what he is used to creating with the BBL. He didn’t try to up sell me to the BBL/fat transfer, and agreed lipo only was best. (Which I respected.) Once you speak with Dr. Long and set up your appt, he is very hands on and is open to questions. I had lots.He is very generous with his time, which can make him late for another appointment but he always makes it up to you. He was also generous with what he gave me post op. I know some doctors charge for all the garments and waist trainers and it other accessories but he doesn’t. For someone considering doing this: 1. plan for extra time off. Ya, some people might be able to go back to work in a few days, but I wouldn’t plan on it. 2. Drink lots of water. Like way more than normal. He tells you that for day one. But keep that going or else it feels impossible to have a bowel. 3. Have a helper that is strong (if possible). The only thing I needed my helper for was helping me put on my garment because it’s so tight. (My weight is heavier than what the Faja says so maybe that is why.) 4. Keep your garment on even when you feel like you are going to explode. (Especially at night!) I went to a larger garment one night and it felt better for a few hours until my body just swelled up in that new extra room and then it felt the same as the first one. Note: I have found its better to wear my larger garment when trying to “exercise” going for walks, light arm weights. 5. ICE. For some reason, I never see this recommended anywhere, and dr long didn’t mention it but it has been a lifesaver for me day 4-6 for the swelling. 6. Dr. Longs after photos are taken the day after the procedure which I think is important to realize as you are really swollen after and most doctors do after photos when you are more healed. 7. Buy maxi pads. They help when you get swollen so your vagina lips don’t get swollen and protrude out the opening at the bottom of the garment. Updated on 4 Jun 2020: Apparently, the smaller you are the faster you recover from this? Might be true... but I haven’t been able to eat much at all and am up 10 pounds post op from swelling. It gets really bad at night, even if I sleep in an elevated position. I heard some PS say some can go back to work in 2 days or work out in 2-3 days. Well, I am here to say at 135, swelling does not discriminate! No way could I be working right now. I did go for a walk though. Verrry slow pace and took some 3 pound dumbbells and did some arm stuff for 15 minutes so I’m not sitting around or anything. Actually, it hurts to sit from the swelling so I try to just keep busy. Ibuprofen has not helped the swelling. Tylenol seems pointless, as I am not in pain. Just uncomfortable to the point of insomnia. I saw Dr. Long yesterday and he gave me some compression socks which cover the whole leg and seem to be helping with my legs. Here are some photos of day 3. Updated on 4 Jun 2020: Bruises are going away. Still feel really swollen but I am only +1 pound from the day of surgery. My butt is looking super flabby since the swelling is kind of going down and I did NOT do the BBL, lipo only. Can’t wait to start lifting and building muscle in my butt again. Just feels too early with the incisions. I walked 13,000 steps yesterday, not All at once though. Got really swollen after just 7,000 and had to ice up but it was also 90+ degrees. I woke up feeling and looking a lot better. I could not imagine sitting at a desk job all day though. If I had a regular 9-5 I would take 2 weeks off. Here are some 1 week photos. Updated on 4 Jun 2020: For some reason these photos didn’t post when I added them with the update below. My review has to be 200 characters to post this so I’ll just add how important i have found it is to drink water to go to the bathroom. I am now drinking over a gallon a day, (approx my weight in ounces 135oz) and maybe that’s helping speed up the recover Updated on 8 Jun 2020: I’m 11 days post op now. Sleeping is getting easier. Officially don’t have to switch between my med & large Faja and waist trainer. Wearing the medium in both with an ab board and sometimes a lumbar board. My incisions are looking better on left side than my right. One opened up a bit the other day but it more seemed like it was a scab bleeding. I included photos. I am now 2 pounds below my weight on operation day. And swelling feels better in certain areas besides in the middle of the night when I wake up. But things feel lumpy and don’t look as flat and even as when I was more swollen on day 6. I am getting nervous that my stomach won’t be flat because my back is looking great and smooth but not my front. I’ve been massaging which seems to be helping But I’m still anxious. I feel like part of the problem is my measurements I’m currently a 38-27-40. I feel like I could use a tighter garment in my stomach area but I can’t downsize because my hips are so large and my sternum hurts. I tried a metal corset the other day for a few hours so I could customize where I was tighter but took it off eventually because I didn’t want to be going against my plan from my PS. I guess I just need to be more patient. I just expected to be looking better for each day, not worse. Updated on 16 Aug 2024: Posting for a user who asked for an update. I weigh 135, same weight as when I had this done. My scars healed beautifully, back is still smooth, but stomach never got better. Sometimes it appears lumpy or saggy in the top portion, not smooth. Got a second opinion a year and half post and they said I should have used garments tailored to my frame because I don’t match up with standard sizing in order to have it be tight enough on the stomach. I don’t think a tighter garment would have changed the fat that wasn’t removed in my stomach… just maybe helped for a smoother result. Hope this helps!
Surgery was 1/19! So far so good. I definitely needed an ab board and a lumbar/ back board for post-op because I'm naturally curvy and the waist trainer and compression garment are creating some pain and bruising. A week post op, the majority of my swelling is in my lower back and hips. I got my ab board 6 days PO, and I ordered a back board which will be here today for my lower back pain and swelling from the waist trainer. Updated on 28 Jan 2020: Started noticing lumps all over in random places that I received the lipo (which is normal). They are pretty painful, I rub a little to massage and then leave them alone. I think the most important part of this particular phase of recovery is to keep wearing your compression. So far, things are going well and I am excited to continue seeing results. Updated on 6 Feb 2020: Aside from coconut oil (which I previously did not mention): The lumbar support & ab board are ESSENTIAL for me. They greatly decrease pain from swelling and fluid retention!!! Before I shower: I use the dry brush (purchased from amazon to stimulate blood flow and circulation as well as to aid in exfoliation of skin) Following shower: I apply coconut oil all over my body and then apply the compression garment and waist trainer (or just compression). I have several types of coconut oil all virgin and unrefined... it doesn’t really matter the brand and you can get it from any supermarket, Walmart, etc. Updated on 13 Apr 2020: Almost 3 months in and I’m still loving it. I’m healing still, my lower back and sides are a little sensitive from time to time, however... my results are great. When I watch my calories they are even better! It’s amazing to see what just a week of light activity and eating better does. Over all... I’m so happy & I can’t wait to see myself in another 3 months.
Dr. Long was absolutely amazing! I'm very pleased with my results. I had my lipo 360/fat transfer procedure Dec. 2nd under local anesthesia. Before the procedure they give you a few pills and snacks to make you feel comfortable. You even get to watch NETFLIX lol! All I know is when those pills kicked in I woke up in the middle of them working on me and it did not hurt at all! It tickled a bit here and there. If there was something that hurt I let them know, but you can't really feel it too much because you're numb. The procedure takes 2-3 hours then BOOM you're home resting! The first 2 days are tough but you have to move around! Don't sit/lay around being lazy!! The next day after the procedure you'll have a follow up with Dr.Long. He'll take photos and make sure you're healing well. You'll also have another follow up the week after where he'll take your measurements and ensure you're healing properly. He even gives you smaller garments because you will keep shrinking. Overall, I feel and look great! It's only been a week and I'm up moving around like I had nothing done lol! The hardest part of this procedure is wearing the garments because they're so tight and uncomfortable. You can't sit, sleep, or move like you want to but that's to be expected when getting this done. I'll show more results after my monthly follow up! Updated on 11 Dec 2019: Feeling great. Can’t wait until 1 month.
I had my consultation on Tuesday 7/23/2019 with Yadi. She went over all the details with me. Asked me what I was interested in getting. I advised the BBL. she took my height and weight. She was very nice and answered any question I had. I asked her about scheduling and she provided dates. My first date was Friday, July 26, 2019 due to someone else canceling their appointment that day. ( I got lucky) but Yadi called me and said Dr. Long would not be in the office that day. (Which was fine.) We rescheduled for August 1st which was a week later. I met Dr. Long the day of my appointment. He was nice, informative and patient. He went over every detail with me and my cousin.( she was driving me home.) the procedure was done under local anesthesia. I did not feel anything. I was probably pretty out of it. I will post my before and after pictures. Updated on 13 Nov 2019: I am currently 3 months post op. I have no complaints at the moment. I still have a little bit of swelling. The numbness is about gone in my back/flanks area. I am going to start working out to maintain my results. My current weight is 155. Prior to surgery my weight was 175. 155 was my goal.
My experience overall has been awesome. I said if I had to do it all over again I would. My doctor was really nice and professional. He sculpt me in a way we’re I have more visible curves. It looks like I have a bbl instead of lipo 360.
My experience w/ Dr. Long was amazing! I only did my stomach & back fat. I already have a curvy shape & nice butt so didn’t do the fat transfer/BBL. Here is my before and after from ONE DAY post op! I can’t wait to see how my results look when I get back in the gym!
My experience with doc Long was awesome. All his staff are sweet. I was so worried about pain since it was done under local but didn’t feel anything and if I did he would numb the area more. The changing of garment is painful. I totally recommend Dr. long!
My experience has been great with Dr. long! I am a second time patient with him and both procedures went extremely smooth. He was so caring and text me to follow up to see how I was doing. My first procedure was February 12, 2016 and it was a fat transfer from flanks and back. I wanted more volume so I did a second fat transfer March 6, 2018. I transferred fat from my arms this go around. I am healing pretty good, pain level is down. The staff is so thorough and make sure you are well prepared with the information they provide! My mom and my friends all want to book a date Dr. long! I’m so happy.. I look natural abs not overly done. I’ll try my best to answer any comments I get. Definitely use Dr. long, he is experienced.
