14 years ago, at 36, after breast feeding 3 babies in 5 years I went to see the doctor for an umbilical hernia repair and a C-section revision . I talked to the doctor about getting a lift but ended up getting 250 cc implants. I was never completely comfortable with implants and so after 14 years and some pain issues, i had them explanted with the same wonderful surgeon.Im now 50 and feel comfortable with my breast post surgery. Updated on 9 Jan 2020: It has been one month since my explant with capsulectomy and lift. The results are better than I expected. Before children i was within 3 pounds of my current weight and my breast were a small B. I am now measuring a small C cup and many of the bras I wore with the implants still fit, i just have less cleavage. I also look thinner in all of my clothes . In fact people that do not know about the procedure keep saying did you lose weight? I feel like myself again and look forward to seeing if the pain i had in my right side chest and back stays away now that the implant was removed from behind the muscle. The most difficult part of recovery was the itching from the tape. The pain was moderate from the incisions the first 3 days. The tape keeps the incision held tight to minimize scarring and mine stayed on until the third week which the doctor said is ideal. At one month I can do most everything, i'm easing back into yoga and light weights and if I feel burning or pulling I ease off. I wish I had had a lift 14 years ago but you live and learn.
Look no further... seriously. This was a huge decision. I had seen other doctors and I was uneasy about it all until I consulted with him. He is professional, personable, honest and darn good at his job! We picked the perfect size. And they look like they fit me, super natural. After four kids, this was exactly what I needed!
I can not say enough about Dr. Columbus and his staff they were great!! He was very honest and understanding , knew what I wanted he has awesome bedside manner his MA Laura is amazing!!! she help with sizing. My surgery went very well I had minimal pain and the new girls look amazing!!! I would recommend Dr. Columbus to anyone, he was very professional. Great experience!!! Thank you Dr. Columbus and staff!!!
I had consultations with many different surgeons and Dr. Columbus was the most honest and helpful. He gave me his honest opinion and I trusted him to make my procedure look the most natural. His assistant, Laura, is incredible!! She spent extra time with me to make sure I was totally happy with my choice and went over different options. She was very kind and knowledgeable and make me feel very comfortable about the procedure. She made herself available for questions at any time along the way. I am a little over 6 months post-op and very happy with my results.
What a hard surgery! But I can honestly say I don't know how I would have walked through this surgery (and reconstruction) without Dr. Columbus and his nurse Laura. I felt safe and secure the entire time. My questions were answered quickly and both were always available to put my mind at ease before and after the surgery. I cannot give enough praise to Dr. Columbus and his level of skill. I had a newer process of direct to implant, over the muscle and the results have been fantastic. I highly recommend Dr. Columbus and The Plastic Surgery Group. I also cannot say enough about how professional, warm and friendly his nurse Laura was throughout my recovery! I owe them both a huge debt of gratitude for taking such good care of me.
Had a tummy tuck. I cannot comment on how fantastic this doctor is. Everything went smoothly. He is very professional. The whole staff involved in the procedural was caring and I tuned to what I was feeling as far as nervousness and the future after the experience of sugery. I would pick this group again if I had it to do all over. Simply amazing!!!
I'm 5'7" 140 lbs I got a breast augmentation because I couldn't bend over in a bra without being able to see straight into it. Braless wasn't an option for me because I was too self concious about how flat chested I was. Honestly I've never felt my age because of my lack of breasts, as silly as that may seem. I obsessed over my size for months, originally picking 300cc (to be a full c) but after being told you lose some size by going under the muscle I wanted to try 400 high profile and my second choice was 325 my incision is under my breast. I was scared of the unknown, did I pick the right size, will they look worse than my boobs originally did, am I going to regret it, what will my recovery be like, will I wake up in severe pain? You name it I worried about it. I got sick a couple days before and i was terrified I'd have to reschedule. My doctors MA advised me as long as i didnt have an active fever or a persistant cough the day of everything would be ok. The day of surgery I got to the center 2 hours before, I got taken back where I took a pregnancy test and changed into a gown. My nurse took all my vitals (blood pressure, temp, heart rate) then started an IV in my wrist as the veins in my hands weren't cooperating. The IV was dripping saline and antibiotics. Once i had the IV my mom was able to come sit with me until they took me back for surgery. An anesthesiologist came in to go over the process and answer questions. After that my doctor came to draw on me, answer any last minute questions and confirm the size of implant. This is where I really got nervous because I knew it wouldn't be much longer! About 15 minutes later another anesthesiologist came to inject something into my IV to relax me, then a couple OR nurses wheeled me back to the surgery room where they hooked me up to machines that monitor you during surgery. My doctor put a pillow under my knees and compression wraps on my legs then the mask got put overy my mouth and nose and the next thing I remember was my nurse saying I was in recovery. When I woke up my pain level was about a 4, my chest was tight and my muscles were sore but it was by no means unbearable. The nurse gave me water and a pain pill. She took my vitals then let my mom come to sit with me until I could leave. She stressed the importance of deep breathing as you can get fluid built up in your lungs if you don't work them after. It was difficult but doable, just go slowly and it doesn't have to be every breath. My mom told me the doctor couldn't fit 400 into my pocket and the 325 fit but I didn't have enough breast tissue to close the incision. So I got my original choice of 300cc. The hardest part for me has been sleeping and not being able to use my arms to get myself up. I'm day 5 days post op and doing great! However, I did start my period prematurely the day after my surgery which my doctor said can happen and isn't uncommon. My menstrual cramps have been the most pain I've felt since my BA! Just to give you an idea of how tolerable it was. As of right now, it's already been totally worth it and I'd do it 100 times over. I know how obsessed I was prior to getting the BA, so I truly hope this helps someone :) P.S. I got a L sports bra for after and it was so tight I was almost miserable my first night so I had my mom go out and get me an XL which did wonders for my comfort level! I know my boobs will change a lot over time but even now I think they are beautiful and am very happy with them. I hope I like them settled just as much as I do now!
Dr. Columbus has been nothing but extremely professional since day one. I find him to be very personable with a great sense of humor. His bedside manner is top shelf and he is very thorough during his time with you. His medical assistant, Laura is the best! At the consultation, I waited no more than 5 minutes to be called back. Once in the back, Dr. Columbus came in and described the different types of implants, how implant sizes are selected, where the implants can be placed, incision options and the surgery itself. We briefly discussed my goals in addition to the recovery process and risks associated with surgery. After that, I was measured and then I was able to try on different sizers. Laura was there to help me put the sizers in and assist Dr. Columbus with getting me the brochures and documents I needed to explain the procedure. The consultation took about an hour and every minute was used to explaining things. Dr. Columbus and Laura met with me again right before my surgery, again I only had to wait about 5 minutes to get called back. Once in the room, I was given the opportunity to ask any additional questions I had about the procedure. Before leaving, they gave me pre-op instructions and prescriptions to get filled. The day of my surgery I checked in, and was called straight back. Dr. Columbus came in to mark me, I was given some medication through my IV to relax me and before I knew it, I was in the operating room. I was told everything went extremely well when I woke up. The entire staff at Christ Surgical Center was very friendly and made sure I was as comfortable as possible the entire time. Dr. Columbus met with my family post surgery to discuss how it all went. The day following my surgery, I met with him and Laura again. He checked me over to make sure everything looked good and I was instructed to come back in one week. I am now 5 days post-op and I feel amazing and love my results! I will be coming back to Dr. Columbus if ever I need/want any more work done in the future.
I started at 32a. I had my BA 2/10/15. I got 475cc HP silicone mentor memory gel implants. I wanted to go bigger from the beginning, but it wasn't possible. I will be having revision surgery 2/23/16 to go bigger. But I don't regret any of it. I love them, just always wanted bigger. I am hoping to get 650cc UHP silicone or 700cc UHP silicone.
I had consulting with Dr. Columbus on 11 june, pre-op 13 july, op 29. Dr. Columbus picked 210 plus, 225 plus, 255 hight, and 275 hight for me choosed. So I picked 255,and 275. My pre op went well, I signed paperwork and everything, but unfortunately they called me next day they could not do my procedure on 29, and my problem was I already putted 2 weeks off in my schedule. The schedulers regarding, her name joni korn is very nice. She worked out hard to put me back on 29. Dr. Columbus and staffs are very professional, I'M so glad to do surgery with them. Finally, my op 's done today and Dr. Columbus could fit only 255 for me, any way I'M happy. He prefers natural and closed to patients desire. I really recomment Dr. Columbus!
