Well, after kicking the proverbial can around for several years I finally had my procedure done on June 14th 2021. After a few months of comparing surgeons, and reading reviews, I ended up going with Dr. Nader in Reynosa, Mexico. I chose Dr. Nader for a few reasons, most importantly his patient reviews and results. They're impressive. I'm also a fan of his website. Unlike other hair transplant websites that barrage you with price points and pictures, Dr. Naders website is humble, and seems to convey a quiet sense of professionalism. His website has also been up and running since at least 2004, according to the Wayback Machine. Once I made up my mind, I sent out an email to his office administrator, Brenda Salazar inquiring about prices and availability. After 10 days, and several unanswered emails, I finally received a response back from Brenda, who apologized profusely, and helped me to secure an appointment. At this point I started having doubts, but I ended up going ahead with Dr. Nader, and I'm glad I did. From that point on, every email and text I sent, was answered quickly, and professionally. Brenda was instrumental in arranging every aspect of my trip, and answering any questions I had along the way. Once I arrived in Mcallen, Texas I was picked up at the airport by the hotel shuttle, and transported back to the hotel. The following morning I was picked up by Aaron, a longtime friend and employee of Dr. Nader's who drove me across the border and to the clinic. It was a short trip from the hotel (20 mins) but Aaron was friendly and courteous and seemed grateful for the opportunity to practice his English. Once I arrived at the clinic, I was greeted by a receptionist who handed me a form to fill out with standard medical information. A few minutes later Dr. Nader came out to greet me, and I was escorted back to his office. Dr. Nader was polite, soft spoken, and warm. Within minutes of sitting down, I felt at ease. For the next 20 - 30 minutes we discussed what my expectations and goals were, and some preliminary lines were mapped out on my scalp. The Doctor then explained every step of the procedure to follow, and explained that at any time we could stop and take a break. Once I was ready, Dr. Nader escorted me into another room where my head was shaved by an assistant, and I was prepared for surgery. About 15 minutes later I was escorted into a larger room for the extraction phase of surgery. At the center of the room sat a medical bed and a few rolling stools on either side. I was then asked to lay face down on the bed, and once I was comfortable, Dr. Nader and his assistant set to work. The extraction phase took around two hours, and it was oddly enough a very relaxing experience. Every so often I would feel a slight pinch and alternating pressure as the grafts were extracted and anesthesia was applied. I noticed that if I shifted or moved position the Doctor and his assistant would stop their work, and wait a moment before continuing. They both seemed very aware of my comfort levels and making sure the process was never painful. In the background a radio played alternative rock, and I found myself on more than a few occasions drifting off to sleep. The entire process took a little over two hours and once we were finished, I was escorted into another room to break for lunch. This room had a comfortable looking medical chair in the center, which faced a 50in flat screen tv that was secured to the wall. Dr. Nader tuned the tv to Netflix and handed me the remote, explaining that the tv was for me, and that I could pick anything I wanted to watch. The Doctor then left and a few moments later and returned with a full plate of tacos and a Coke. He then handed me some meds to take with my meal, and took a few minutes to explain when I should take them. One thing I'd like to mention here is how thorough Dr. Nader is. Unlike other doctors who always seem pressed for time, Dr. Nader seems to take a great deal of enjoyment in communicating with his patients. A few minutes later Dr. Nader left me to enjoy my lunch, and I launched The Walking Dead on Netflix. Once I was finished with lunch, Dr. Nader returned with a few assistants in tow. I was happy to learn that the extraction phase would take place in the same room, and I could continue to watch The Walking Dead for the remainder of surgury. The chair I was sitting on was reclined back and they set to work on the implanting phase of the procedure. Dr. Nader working on the left side of my head, and his assistant working on the right. The pain during this phase was slightly higher than the Extraction phase and at times the anesthesia "pinches" were a bit more painful. Overall, the pain only ever lasted a moment and was pretty easy to navigate. Seven episodes of The Walking Dead later, and the procedure was complete. A few minutes later, we met back in Dr. Naders office, where for the next 30-40 minutes we discussed the results of the procedure, and the after-care required. He answered any questions I had, and seemed genuinely interested in taking the time to explain anything I was unsure of. He seemed very invested in my success, and explained that if I had any questions or concerns along the way, that he was just a phone call away. As I left Dr. Naders office, I felt not only prepared to deal with the after care, but I felt confident that I had found a doctor who was in it for the long haul. TLDR: Dr. Nader is an excellent surgeon who has a great deal of empathy and respect for his patients. He also seems to take an immense pride in his work, and the incredible results he delivers. I think Dr. Nader just might be the most professional doctor I've met, and if I had to do it all over again, I would choose this doctor over any American doctor, even if they could match his prices. Results It's been 6 months so far, and the results I received from Dr. Nader have been incredible! I'd say the density of my hairline is well over 90%, and I fully expect to reach 100% in the coming months. I've been in contact with Dr. Nader several times over the past few months, and true to his word, he has always been just a phone call away. Since the procedure I am happier, healthier and much more confident. 2227 Grafts 1 follicle - 176 2 follicle - 768 3 follicle - 1074 4 follicle - 209
DISCLOSURE: The below is a review of my experience with Dr Luis Nader, his staff and clinic in Reynosa, MX. It is based on my personal experience and is not indicative of a suggested procedure for anyone. Consult with a health professional should you consider this or any other procedure(s). THANKFUL: First and foremost, I want to thank Dr Nader and his wonderful staff for giving me a renewed self image. F.U.E. hair transplants are an art and science. When choosing a doctor for this procedure, word of mouth and reviews are key to selecting the right doctor. I personally know several people who have done the procedure and they ALL HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Nader. When a doctor performs successful procedures over and over again, it is important to write an honest review detailing the experience, hence this review. BACKGROUND: As someone in his early 40s, my hair loss started in my early to mid-20s. It was gradual but began quite early. I chose to do the procedure for myself and no one else. Everyone has their reasons for doing such a procedure. Before starting, you should have your why. WHAT TO EXPECT: Dr. Nader gives you detailed instructions before, during and after-care. He provides the medications and anything else that is required. The initial steps are to seek a consultation via email. You can reach out to them via the below email address. Give it a few days as he is busy but he will respond to your email personally. Sending pictures will help as well. Also, you should fill out the form on the website. It will give them a good idea about your situation. Once you get thru the consultation and you decide to move forward, Brenda, his office professional, will schedule the day(s) for the procedure. You can either have them or you book the hotel/airfare to McAllen, TX. DAY(S) OF PROCEDURE: You will be picked up in the morning from the lobby of the hotel by Dr. Nader's driver. He will then drive you into Mexico and to the clinic. After an initial sit down where the doctor marks up your scalp, (hairline location, etc) and a discussion of what to expect, the procedure will begin where applicable. After the procedure, you are driven back to the hotel. If your procedure will take longer than 1 day, you will be picked up in the morning, driven to the clinic and then back to the hotel after the procedure. TRANSPLANT: -Final figures- Day 1: 3117 hairs pulled from the sides and back of the head - implants as well - same day. Day 2: 769 hairs pulled from the neck/beard area - implants as well - same day. 1011 hairs pulled from the remaining side of the head - implants as well - same day. Total implanted hair: 4897 IT IS A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT: Week 1-2 - Healing, scab removal, wetting the scalp, biotin. If you pull hair from the lower beard, you probably will get ingrowns. Weeks 2-4 - Some hair shedding will occur. Do not worry, the bulb/root is still in there. You will get some dandruff. Up to week 4, avoid the sun as much as possible! Months 1-2 - The doctor may direct you to start using minoxidil for the apex to supplement the new growth. Months 2-4 - Some ingrowns and pimples may form. This is the new hair pushing thru. A facial scrub on skin for pimples as needed. Months 2-6 - The "ugly duckling" phase. The hairs on the side, top and back of the head will grow at different speeds. Months 1-12 - New hair growth. Months 12-16 - Full evaluation of the procedure results. Suggestions: Keep stress low. Slow down any strenuous activity the first few weeks after the procedure. IN CONCLUSION: I highly recommend Dr. Nader and his wonderful staff for the care during and after the procedure. I regularly keep in touch with him and show him updates of the growth. The after-care is phenomenal. It's all well worth it! CONTACT INFORMATION: info@nadermedical.com Nader Medical. Blvd. Álvaro Obregón #1960 Local 13 Colonia Cavazos. Ciudad Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Dr. Nader is the best. He will work with every patient to make this procedure a reality. He did a fantastic job! For people concerned that he wasn't responding to emails, it is just a few days wait sometimes and sometimes the same day. This was the best thing I did this year, and possibly decade. (Hint: I also saw Dr. Nader another time about 10 years ago).
I completed my FUE transplant with Dr. Nader on Wednesday, 09/09/2020. He was so kind and made me feel comfortable in his office. He explained everything in detail and really valued my opinion in what I was looking for. He was with me throughout the entire procedure and did most of the work himself. It is true, he only takes one patient a day! I had an estimate of about 2,500 grafts, but ended up getting 2,560. I took advantage of the cash discount. I will post photos as time progresses. I just wanted to share my experience so far.
Great experience! A great doctor, knowledgeable and detailed. Uses the latest equipment and I really felt comfortable and safe. The process getting there is mostly email communication but once your appointment is set it’s worry free and you can be assured you will on your way to a great result! Thanks Dr. Nader! note currently only 6.5 months out from third so my pictures could even get better!
I am a hairdresser and salon owner in Atlanta Georgia, and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly with regards to hair transplants. I luckily met a make up artist from California who had had a hair transplant with Dr. Nader. I looked him up on the internet and sent him an email. If you send Dr. Nader an email and don’t hear back, DON’T give up, keep sending them! He answers all his emails personally and very thoughtfully. The experience was GREAT. he puts you in a hotel in And his driver Mr. Picks you up the morning of the procedure and drives you across the border to Reynosa, Mexico. His office and staff are so professional and courteous and Dr. Nader is the most conscientious doctor of ANY specialty I have ever met. He and his assistants never leave your side, which is unbelievable considering my procedure was two 10 hour days long. The result is truly amazing. None of my friends and clients can believe the dramatic change. I can tell you I think it would impossible to find a transplant surgeon who has better artistic judgment, medical knowledge, technical skill. I can promise you not find a doctor who is any more concerned with your comfort and outcome. He is a very kind and special person. I consider my decision to travel to Dr. Nader one of the best decisions of my life!
My procedure was done with Dr. Nader January 2017 . I did a lot of research online and decided to go with somebody in my area. (Chicago). Then for some reason I changed my mind . I stumbled on a couple of YouTube videos of Dr. Nader & decided to go with Dr. Nader. I am so glad that I decided to go with Dr. Nader . He is very professional and really cares about his patients. My wife Accompanied me for moral support and when we talked to him we felt so comfortable. Dr. Nader listen to my concerns and my wife’s concerns . It’s been about a year and a month ago since my procedure and I am very very happy with my results . All I can say is that this doctor is a genius in his profession . I highly recommend him! As for price in my opinion I thought it was very inexpensive compared to the Midwest . These procedures are not cheap, but in my opinion was well worth the money specially if you have a great doctor like Nader. I might go back in two years to get my crown done since I only did my front. Meanwhile I want to enjoy my hair . Michael A Updated on 11 Feb 2019: These pictures are from January 2019. Hope this helps for anybody that has questions .
I will be getting my fue with Dr. Luis Nader on April 19th, 2019. I am super excited that this is finally going to happen. I am 28 year old male that has been balding since about 21 years of age. I found out about Dr. Luis Nader by searching fue hair transplants. Updated on 19 Apr 2019: I've been thinking on my crown and temple areas since I was about 20 years old. After 2 years of research on the FUE procedure, I came across Dr. Luis Nader Reynoso. 3 months ago, I scheduled my appointment and I just got my hair transplant done yesterday. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Nader. He is super friendly, informative, and very professional. It was very clear to me that Dr. Nader wasn't just trying to sell me a hair transplant. He handed me a mirror and asked me what I saw. He wanted wanted to hear how I envisioned myself and my transplant. Although, he didn't tell me what I should get done he did stress on not looking for perfection because that is the biggest indicator of getting a procedure done. The goal is for the procedure is for it to be not noticeable. I believe I had very realistic goals. The procedure went very smooth and Dr. Nader and his team work very efficiently. Once the anastegia was in place, I could not feel anything when it came to extracting and transplanting the hair. I did feel slight compression on my head but no pain once so ever. *Dr. Nader is doing your procedure every step off the way along with one of his assistants. It was amazing to see how quietly they work. Dr. Nader asked me if I wanted to see anything... in honor of being in Mexico I watched Narcos:Mexico. (6 episodes) After the procedure, I didn't want to leave. Dr. Nader felt like the uncle that I wish I had. He is a very great guy and I hope we meet again.(hopefully not for a 2nd procedure but if I need one I would not hesitate to place an appointment if I want to come back for more density. Dr. Nader gave me some meds for pain, swelling, and antibiotics along with saline spray, aloe vera and shampoo. Updated on 20 Apr 2019: Hey Guys. My surgery was done on April 18th, 2019. I got back home last night around 1 a.m. I slept very comfortably. I have practically no pain. Check out the photos. I removed the gauze pads today. Rinsed my head using a plastic cup. I then washed my donor and recipient area with the supplies shampoo. I gently patted my head and rinsed with water. After the shower I patted my head down gently with a washcloth. I applied aloe gel to the donor area and saline spray to the recipient area. I will be spraying both the donor and the recipient area every 30 minutes. Updated on 6 Jul 2019: This is my 2 month update. I am getting a bit impatient but if you compare how it was before...there a big improvement already. I started using minoxidil, I am taking 10,000 mcg of Biotin and using a few different shampoos and conditioners to help aid in hair growth/retention of hair.
