WORTH IT
I started looking into hair transplants about two years ago. Money is not an issue for me, but I did not want to fly for ten hours outside of US to see other top surgeons. After reading nonstop about all available options, I decided to contact Dr. Nader.
Yes, it took some time to get an answer. I sent about 3 emails before Dr. Nader answered. He gave me an option to do one session and come back in year to do another session or do two sessions in a row of about 4,000 grafts. I chose the latter.
Next was the wait, the earliest two consecutive opening days were a year and half away. I booked and waited.
As the days came closer, I started to get nervous and even came close to cancelling the transplant, but I decided to go. Took a flight from New York to McAllen, TX, the day before, checked into the hotel and did not sleep a wink.
Next day, Mr. Santos picked me up from the hotel and drove me to Dr. Nader's office. The trip to Reynosa is uneventful and takes about 30 minutes. I did not, in any way, feel unsafe or worried. No issues at all. The drive back takes about an hour and a half, so plan accordingly, as the line at US border is long and slow.
We arrived at a nondescript building; Mr. Santo walked me in. I sat down and filled out medical forms and Dr. Nader greeted me right away. We sat at his office, talked about life, family, passions and, of course, hair. He loves what he does and is really an artist with hairlines. I did not want a hairline I had at 25, I wanted a mature hairline, and we worked on it until we were both satisfied as to what can be done. BTW, Dr. Nader's mom is American and because of her, he speaks perfect English.
After shooting the breeze for an hour and a half, all my worries evaporated. I didn't even have to ask, but Dr. Nader decided, since I am an attorney and need to attend court hearings, he can do my procedure without shaving my head fully, so I can hide the transplant area. Again, just amazing.
The first part of the day is harvesting, after lunch (choose the Tacos), second part of the day is implantation. It’s not a difficult process to bear but lying on your stomach for 3-4 hours is not easy, bring your wireless headphones to pass the time. Second part of the day you can watch Netflix while Dr. Nader does the implants.
Dr. Nader went over the procedure both days and he was able to extract close to 4,100 grafts, splitting them almost evenly between my hairline and the crown.
Dr. Nader supplies you with everything you need after surgery. Antibiotics, spray, and shampoo. Gives you thorough instructions of what to do and gives you his personal cell number, if you happen to have any questions later.
I cannot recommend Dr. Nader enough. He is warm, passionate about his job and besides being a doctor, he is an artist of his trade.
If you are on the fence about Dr. Nader, don’t think twice, book you appointment and wait, it will be the best decision you ever make.
