I cannot recommend Dr. Bennet enough! She is very easy to talk to and explains everything you need to know before and after surgery. I am pleased with the results of my explant and breast lift. She made me feel so comfortable going into surgery by letting me know exactly what to expect and her positive attitude kept me from being too nervous. I love my results!
After losing around 50 pounds and giving birth to 3 wonderful babies my midsection was destroyed. Extra skin, droopy belly button, and severe diastatis recti left me feeling insecure and desperate for more functionality and improved visuals. From my very first consultation to my now 2 post op appointments, the staff and Dr. Bennett have been over the top amazing to me. I always leave her office with a huge smile and improved mood. My results have been nothing short of astonishing. Not only does everything look beautiful, but it feels great. My muscles are waking up and swelling is starting to give way and share a peak of even better definition to come. If you are on the fence about visiting Dr. Bennett and staff, don't waste another day! The realization that I'll never have to give a thought to the emotional and mental toll my insecurities were weighing me down with is just as exciting as the physical results. Dr. Bennett and staff made this dream a reality and I couldn't be more excited the outcome!
I had rush appointment because I was only allowed x amount of leave. The staff was amazing, and me in very fast-ASAP had a last minute implant change and it was successful. I’m about 4 hours post op. Chest is sore, and very dry cotton mouth. My STaTs: 5’3’” 123lbs deflated breast after breastfeeding. 345cc gummy bear (Mentor memoryshape, tear drop) this requried a drain but I can not feel them. Pink bra is this morning before surgery. I was a 34B and was not feeling my cup. Updated on 14 Sep 2018: Updated on 14 Sep 2018: I have four cuts, two under breast to insert gummy bear implant and one on both side of breast for drain. The drain helps prevent the teardrop from turning. Updated on 23 Sep 2018: So with the contoured teardrop (gummy bears) my PS placed drains so the fluid build p would not flip my implant. That would look awful. So I am taken one for the team for my long term goal of full, but natural looking breast. I posted a picture of both drains. One you can see leaked out a little, this was done to a clot, I was able to release the clot into the drain bulb by milking the tube! Easy fix. I am going on day 10 with them in and in day 7 I started getting tender and sore at both site since it’s been there now over a week. It has become irritating. Hoping to get my fluid decreased to 24cc in 24 hour period so I can get them taken out. So far today I am at 108cc so I’m hoping by the end of the week I’ll be there. Updated on 24 Sep 2018: I am late on updating but here’s before surgery and then on day 7. Updated on 2 Oct 2018: Finally those unsightly things are out and I’m ale to go out! Here’s what they left though, pretty ugly little scars. My skin was very irritated from the medical tape.
Abilene TX. Dr Bennett is amazing and her Staff. 5 weeks post op yesterday. Progressing well. Had 2 drains in 6 days. Relieved to have them out. Started a walking routine at 2.5 weeks, and running again at 3 weeks. Pros...stomach flatter than I could have every accomplished with any exercise routine. Lost 7 unexpected pounds. Keeping that off. So glad to be in the 120s again. Still not 100 percent. Swelling is an issue. Increasing my water and when I workout I wear a sauna belt to help relieve swelling. It seems to help. See below and after pictures. So glad I did this. My clothes fit as they should.
So I had a consult a little over a month ago, I'm very happy with my doctor and confident that everything will turn out great. So far we decided on 325cc's UHP. I'm trying to decide if I want to go slightly bigger but I'll just have to ask more question at my next appointment. Since my consult I've gone back and forth with actually getting the procedure done. I research things to death and all this stuff going around about implant Illness and explanation has me very nervous. This is something I want but when I look up this topic I never can find woman voicing that they don't have issues or sickness, are you out there!? Updated on 10 May 2017: I'm super petite sitting at 5'3 and anywhere from 92-95 lb. I would like to gain more before my surgery but we will see. I'm hoping to be a small D as crazy as that sounds! Go big or go home? Anyway, I'm looking for a certain look and cup size isn't my deciding factor on things, I'll have to go Ultra High Implants to achieve what I want from what the doctor has told me. I wish more lady's would put their BWD in their reviews for comparison reasons, finding someone with the same stats are almost impossible! I have some wish pics! Updated on 5 Jun 2017: Decided to go ahead and put down my deposit for surgery. August 22nd I'm scheduled and pre op on August 7th. I'm not sure what to do now but wait? I'm suppose to travel the second week of September out of town on a road trip for about 15 hours. Will I even feel somewhat normal by then? It would be almost 2 1/2 weeks post. Updated on 12 Aug 2017: Had my pre op, originally I wanted to go with 320CC Ultra High profile but after doing research and talking to my PS I want 400CC Ultra high profile. I have a small BWD 10, so she is going to have 375CC UHP just in case the 400's don't fit. I'm hoping they do but it's not much of a difference. My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday August 15th bright and early 5:30 Am! Updated on 13 Aug 2017: 400cc UHP Updated on 13 Aug 2017: I'm not nervous about pain or the actual surgery, but anesthesia freaks me out! I've never been put under before or any type of surgery. If I had the option to not feel anything but be awake I feel like I would do it. I pick up my meds tomorrow and a front zip sports bra I ordered from Amazon comes in. Since my pre op I've flip flopped to one minute thinking they will be too big to not big enough and scared I'll be unhappy, omg the roller coaster! 5:30 am on Tuesday, I just want the surgery done already. Updated on 15 Aug 2017: So I arrived at 5:30 and was out by 10:40 The actual surgery was maybe an hour and 30 minutes. I feel great! A little sore like I worked my chest muscles really hard. Dr Bennett is the sweetest person, makes you feel so comfortable, she has the best bedside manner. She marked me up, took some pictures then the anesthesiologist came in to explains some things and put some feel good meds in my Iv. That's the last thing I remember. They called my husband and let him know what was happening every step of the way because he couldn't wait at the hospital with me because he had our 3 kids. My husband came and picked me up and now I'm at home with little pain, I haven't taken any strong meds just ibuprofen and Tylenol so far. I'm a little sore just like I went to the gym and worked my chest muscles really hard. I'm amazed at how good I feel. Advice is to take anti nausea meds, I felt a little sick but after 10 minutes of waking up it was gone. I'm not sure on what size she fit in, 375 or 400 so I'll post when I find my implant card. Updated on 16 Aug 2017: I'm on day two, everything is going pretty good. I'm taking my meds as needed and I'm still sore, it sucks getting out of bed but I can walk around just fine. I found my implant card and my ps was able to give me the 400cc UHP, so that's good. I have no bruises, everything feels really tight and swollen. Can't wait for the swelling to go down! Sleeping is a little difficult having to sit up I'm a side sleeper and I wish I could lay on my side and go to sleep.
I visited Image Sculptors after years of having "hairy arms." The treatments not only helped minimize hair growth, it gave me years of lost self-confidence back. Now I only go in for "touch ups" and decided to do my under arms too! I could not believe the results in my very first treatment! Lazor hair removal was the best thing I ever did for myself. I highly recommend Image Sculptors for their professional work and dedication to their patients. A wonderful experience.
I get regular facials from Christine atImage Sculptors. Christine does a fantastic job. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about skincare. Theentire staff does a wonderful job. Everyone is so nice there! I really look forward to their annual open house. It is the perfect opportunity to learn about the many services they offer. It is always fun and informative. I would rate higher than five stars if I could!
Hi, everyone! I've been reading reviews on the site for several weeks now but waited to post until my susurger was actually scheduled and paid for. I've driven myself and close friends and family crazy since my consult in March trying to decide which surgery to have (if at all). I finally decided to do the complete Mommy Makeover even though it is so expensive. I've never had surgery before and I know there is risk involved. If I'm taking the risk I might as well get everything done at once! I initially went in for a BA consult. I live in a smaller city (120,000) so I had originally figured I would need to travel for the surgery but my OBGYN told me about Dr. Laura Bennett in our city and encouraged me to have the surgery locally in case there were issues later. That conversation was almost two years ago. Then I had a friend at work have a mini tummy tuck done by Dr. Bennett and loved her. My friend's results are amazing so I called and scheduled the consult and did not visit with any other doctors. Anyway, I loved Dr. Bennett right away. She's intense but warm at the same time. She said I was right on the line of needing a lift and said the donut lift (periareolar) would work well. I decided on silicone once I felt the implants and I was shown one cut open and how it doesn't actually leak out. Originally picked 325cc HP but then went back and changed to 275cc Mod+. I'm a small B now and a runner and was concerned the 325 would be too large for me. I really just want my breasts to be pretty again not a lot larger. As for the TT, I didn't know until I went to the consult that I have an umbilical hernia and diastasis recti. So much makes sense about the way my stomach looks and lower back pain I've been having now. My PS made sure that I understood I would be trading those issues (along with loose skin of course) for a scar. To me my stomach issues are mainly medical and I feel like my quality of life will improve once I heal so I said, "Lets do it!" Dr. Bennett has her full TT patients stay overnight night in the mother/baby wing of the hospital. At first I didn't want to do that but am now glad. My husband is a stay at home dad so I'm lucky in that regard for my recovery. Dr. Bennett is very thorough which is great but it will be a 5 to 6 hour surgery!!!!! Really excited and really nervous. Updated on 21 Apr 2015: Surgery is a week from today. I'm feeling pretty calm and hoping that lasts. Cleaned a lot today. My blood work and preop with the hospital are Friday and I plan on shopping for everything I need that day as well. Will probably actually buy a recliner because we don't have one and our bed is really low. Can't imagine getting in and out of it the first week. Here is a before photo. I'm 5'3" and 125 - 130 lbs, athletic/curvy build. Current bra size is a saggy barely B. Hoping for perky full B to small C. Updated on 28 Apr 2015: All done with surgery and settled in the hospital room for the night. Sleepy and sore but doing great overall. Will update more later :) Updated on 30 Apr 2015: Very sore and get fatigued easily but pain is not too bad. I last took the Tramadol at 4am and have alternated Tylenol and Advil since then. My PS said after the first couple of days if I can make it with just one type of pain medication to choose Advil because it will help most with muscle soreness. Will try to post pics when I shower tonight. I ended up having two hernias one of which PS said was big. I have only a brief memory of the OR. I woke up in recovery just kind of looking around. At first I thought I had fallen asleep waiting for the surgery to start. Then I heard a nurse tell another patient, "you're in recovery." I thought No Way! I'm done :) Updated on 7 May 2015: Hi everyone. I'm feeling pretty good today. Got the drains out on day 6. I've had some swelling and discomfort but it's been mostly my back that hurts due to being hunched over. Today I noticed I'm able to stand almost straight. I went for a walk and even listened to music and danced a little. Boobs are still bruised and freaky looking due to lift but coming along. I love the shape and size. They don't really hurt anymore. I started massages day 6 and that seems to be really helping. Left breast is a little larger. It seems a little more swollen and righty required more of a lift so PS said there would be a little asssymetry but that we all have that to a degree. I think they'll be pretty close in size and I'm so happy the nipples are even and they're perky! Took ibuprofen last night before bed and haven't taken anything since. No pain right now. Skin around belly button red but not getting bigger. PS said it looks like it is red from a bandage or getting caught in binder but to call if redness gets worse. Here are some pics. Updated on 13 May 2015: Not much to report. Tummy swelling is way down in the mornings. Moving around better. Have been doing more to help out around the house and trying to walk some. I had a day around post op day 10 where I did way too much. Broke down a little that day. Here are some new pics. Updated on 20 May 2015: Healing right along and moving more like myself. Almost standing straight. Feel about 80% overall. Got all the glue off and pleating from lift continues to resolve. Still some abnormal muscle soreness and breasts are very sensitive but not any real pain. I've had a bit of a cold this week and coughing and sneezing don't hurt my abs. Thank goodness the cold didn't happen the first week post! That would have been awful. I'm still wearing the binder more than spanx. It seems to keep the swelling down best. Also I press my hand on my stomach when I cough or sneeze and that helps. Updated on 27 May 2015: So happy and feeling great! Really felt like week four was a major turning point. Updated on 1 Jul 2015: Things are going well. My left breast is not dropping as quickly as my right but the left is my dominant side and from what I've read from others on RS that's pretty common. I also had to massage more vigorously per PS instructions because my left breast in particular wasn't as soft as she would have liked at my one month post op. Both breast are now very soft and do not feel 'fake' at all. I'm slowly started to run and lifted free weights again. My stomach still is sore after sitting or driving for extended periods of time. I do feel great about the way my body looks but am struggling with not feeling like myself physically. Trying to be patient and grateful for a relatively smooth recovery so far. Anyone else feel like they are having more trouble with sinus/allergy/colds during recovery?
I am so very pleased with Dr.Bennett and her office. I had many consultations with other PS but the combination of the genuine person that Dr.Bennett is and the friendliness of her staff, I choose her. I had an extended tummy tuck with lipo to the hips and a breast lift. My incisions look wonderful! I was fully ready and prepared with all necessary information before surgery. I knew what to expect.
I am a 28 year old wife and mother. I breastfed both of my boys for about 3-4 months each. I know that's not a very long time, but it was definitely enough to deflate my breasts. I wasn't very well-endowed to begin with, but what I had was nice. I'm 5'7" and 110 lbs. Pre-pregnancy, I wore a 32A, and got to 34C while breastfeeding. Now, I have sad pancakes that measure at 32B or 34A. My goal is to have the largest breast size possible that will match my frame and still look natural. I've been considering this surgery for about 8 or 9 years. Now that I'm nearly thirty, and my husband & I are done having babies, I think it's time to make it happen. I am in the military, and my dilemmas at this point are choosing a good time that works with my schedule, and options to pay for my procedure. My initial thought was to save and pay cash, but I'm too impatient to wait for that. I've been looking into applying for Care Credit, but I've also been considering getting financed through a credit union for a line of credit. So far, I've been to 2 consultations. I had a consult via Skype with Dr. Jennifer Walden in Austin, Texas, and a traditional consultation with Dr. Laura L. Bennett in Abilene, Texas. I'm about 85% positive that I'll be having my surgery with Dr. Bennett for the convenience of my family because she's in town and I wouldn't have to secure additional childcare. On the other hand, I'm not entirely sure that I want to use a doctor based on that fact. I plan to have another consult with her before I make final decision. I'm actually certain she does very good work; I've been referred to her numerous times. I guess ultimately I'm still apprehensive about having the surgery. I've been researching plastic surgeons that use the cauterization method because I'm very interested in any method that will minimize the pain of recovery and the possibility of complications. It would definitely be better for my lifestyle. As of right now, I'm looking at having silicone between 275-325 cc's placed behind the muscle. I'd like to have my surgery in June or July. If all goes according to my plans, that shouldn't be a problem. :-) Updated on 17 Apr 2013: Today I'm on the fence about the surgery. I keep going between weighing the pros & cons and being totally sure that I'm going through with it. I'm still looking around for doctors...mostly in the Dallas area. I was thinking about giving myself another year before I did anything. I'd like to see if my metabolism slows down. If it does maybe I'll gain weight and have breasts. I'm underweight, but I always have been. I thought after my second baby things would change. The only thing that happened was that it took longer for the pregnancy weight to fall off than my first pregnancy. It was all gone before my baby turned a year old. Apparently 25 pounds was too much to ask to keep. Maybe I should have wished for a smaller number like 15. I'm on the opposite spectrum of a very overweight person. A lot of people don't seem to understand it, but at the end of the day they don't even step an inch in my shoes. There's definitely such a thing as toooo skinny, and that's me. I've been thinking about adding pictures, but I'd hate add them and then nothing ever happens. Still debating. Updated on 22 May 2013: Today, it's back on. I'm excited again. I found out that Dr. Bennett does use the cautery method. I called her nurse this week, and she said I'm the first person to ask about it. That makes me wonder just how many women are just having this elective surgery done without doing enough research. Anyhow, on Friday I'm going in for another sizing. When I went for my first consultation, the nurse was waiting for the ultra high profile sizers to come in and they finally have. I'll have my hubby take pics! Updated on 22 May 2013: A couple of before pictures. Updated on 24 May 2013: Went in for the final pick of my implant size today. I chose the ultra high profile at 320 cc, but sizer I tried on is actually 295 cc. Since the implant will be placed behind the muscle, I chose the next size up so that I will get the same look. I chose the ultra high profile implant because its the best fit for my body in terms of width, but I actually preferred the high profile because it offers a more natural, fuller look. I'll be sure to post my chest measurements that my PS took at a later date. Basically, the difference in implant profiles are projection and diameter. The more acute the projection is, the smaller the diameter will be. I don't know if it's the same for all brands of implants. My PS uses Mentor. Anyway, if you have a small build like me, you don't want an implant that's too big. You could risk the pocket being over dissected to make the implant fit if it's too wide to begin with. My PS actually gave me a choice of what I could have; she set what she would and would not put in my body. I'm okay with that. I appreciate a surgeon that has my best interest at the forefront of the procedure. My pre-op is set for June 5th. Surgery is on June 11th. I'm supposed to check in at 5:45 am, should be in surgery by 8:00 am, and out between 9 or 9:30. A tiny part of me can't believe it's scheduled. It's getting real. I went to pick up some sports bras today. I bought 6 from the Academy that are the Champion brand, Under Armour, and bcg, which I think is a store brand. I'm leaving the tags on until I know whether or not they'll fit. Next up for purchase will likely be Mederma, and maybe some silicone sheeting. Updated on 25 May 2013: This evening I spent nearly $60 on ScarAway silicone scar sheets, Scarguard, and Bio-Oil. I know I won't be using these items until my incisions have fully closed, but I'm just gathering items here and there. I'm trying not to go too overboard with buying stuff, so I'm just getting the things that I have no doubt that I will need. Anyway, back to the scar treatments. When I was trying to decide what to buy, I had no clue. I passed up the Mederma because the ones that I appealed more to me offer some type of permanency...like, they aren't going to rub off (except for the Bio-Oil). I honestly don't feel like I'm going to need much else besides meds, water, chapstick (because if my lips get dry the world has to stop until I find something to moisturize with...true story), bras (I actually don't even know if my PS recommends bras after the surgery), maaaybe a laxative of some sort, and sleep. Let me know if I missed something. I've heard some ladies say they buy a bunch of stuff, and end not needing a lot of it. I'm the queen of returning or exchanging things, but I know I won't feel up to it. Texas is already too hot for surgery in the summer. I can't be bothered with anything extra. Updated on 26 May 2013: My PS measured my breast width at 11 cm on the right, and 10-10.5 on the left. I am a bit asymmetrical. The information below is from the Mentor site, and its based on the MemoryGel, high profile (hp) & moderate plus (mod+) implant styles. My PS will not let me go higher than 275 cc with hp because that's the biggest size that my body can safely accommodate in terms of width; diameter. As I said before, I chose the ultra high profile (uhp). It gives me the ability to get more volume due it's smaller diameter, and course there will be more projection. I didn't see the measurements for the uhp to be able to show the difference in measurements, however, I did insert the stats for the mod+ for the purpose of illustration. The lower the implant profile is, the wider the diameter will be, and the less projection you'll get. Let's reference 275 cc for both profiles. The diameter on the mod+ is 11.7 cm, but 10.8 cm on the hp. If I wanted to go with the mod+, at the most I'd be able to get 225 cc with the diamter being 10.9 cm. Updated on 26 May 2013: I see a lot of other women who have the same bra measurements as me, but who aren't as deflated as I am. I really look like 32AA, but I measure at a perfect 32B. I just don't fill the cup. The little bit of volume that I have is floating at the bottom of my breasts. If you're feeling generous, go ahead and say a little prayer for my sad pancakes. Updated on 11 Jun 2013: I have something to clear up. I don't know where I got that my doctor wanted me to wear a bra with underwire for 6 weeks. I only have to wear a supportive sports bra without underwire 24-7. I went to Walmart to get the front zip sports bra from Danskin, but the smallest size wasn't available, plus, the smallest size is still too big for me. So, I ended up ordering two Champion sports bras from Amazon which were twice as expensive as the Danskin brand, but the sizes are easy fit or something. They're measured small, medium, large. I can dig it. I didn't have to guesstimate what size I might need to accommodate the swelling, or worry about if I was wasting $30 bucks on something I won't get good use out of. Ok, so now for the surgery. I went to the hospital at 5:30 this morning, taken back at 8-something, woke up in recovery around 10:00, and sent home in an ace bandage around noon. Dr. Bennett used the Mentor MemoryGel Smooth Round Ultra High Profile implants. She placed 320cc on the left, and 295cc on the right to correct my asymmetry. For pain, she prescribed Norco (Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen), Advil, and an antibiotic called Kefles. I alternate between the Norco and the Advil, so I'm taking meds every 3 hrs. I'm also taking Arnica and Bromelain. I've been keeping up with pain management pretty well so far, but a lot the numbness around my chest is wearing off and I'm feeling more discomfort even with the drugs. The pain really does feel like a lot of pressure. It's somewhat reminiscent of engorgement while breastfeeding, but I can't quite put my finger on how to describe the rest of it. I'm having a hard time projecting my voice, which is no bueno when you have two small boys running around whom you can't run after to keep them in check. I've been able to hold down everything I've, and the most uncomfortable aside from feeling the pressure has been not being able to burp when I need to. Easy fix, but still annoying. I'm also very bloated. I look about 3 or 4 months pregnant when I was carrying my second baby. Tomorrow I can shower, and I have the option to continue to wear the ace bandage or a sports bra. Let me get back to you ladies with more tomorrow. I'm ready to go to sleep. Meds are kicking in. Updated on 11 Jun 2013:
In a 73 year old it is likely that surgery will be required to correct the signs of aging including ptotic skin, descended far pads and platysmal bands. Botox can paralyze muscles and help with excessive animation - causing platysmal bands. However it does not correct loose skin which is the usual complaint in older patients who say they have a "turkey neck". Pictures would be helpful to discuss the areas requiring rejuvenation. An isolated necklift can be done in patients who do not need or do not desire a full facelift. Careful evaluation of the patients', anatomy, what the various procedures will achieve and what result will make the patient happy all need to be assessed. Good luck and I hope this has helped!
This is one of the hardest things for us as patients- to have patience! In this era of Facebook, cell phones and instantmessages it's hard to remember that healing requires time! From these photos it is difficult to be certain what is going on, but it is usually too soon to tell at only 2 weeks post-op. If you haven't spoken to your surgeon it certainly can't hurt to start a discussion with them now. Preoperative breast position does dictate post op location so it is helpful to evaluate where you started before surgery. Your surgeon is best able to explain your recovery process and what is happening at each stage. So hang in there!
