Hi, everyone! I've been reading reviews on the site for several weeks now but waited to post until my susurger was actually scheduled and paid for. I've driven myself and close friends and family crazy since my consult in March trying to decide which surgery to have (if at all). I finally decided to do the complete Mommy Makeover even though it is so expensive. I've never had surgery before and I know there is risk involved. If I'm taking the risk I might as well get everything done at once!
I initially went in for a BA consult. I live in a smaller city (120,000) so I had originally figured I would need to travel for the surgery but my OBGYN told me about Dr. Laura Bennett in our city and encouraged me to have the surgery locally in case there were issues later. That conversation was almost two years ago. Then I had a friend at work have a mini tummy tuck done by Dr. Bennett and loved her. My friend's results are amazing so I called and scheduled the consult and did not visit with any other doctors.
Anyway, I loved Dr. Bennett right away. She's intense but warm at the same time. She said I was right on the line of needing a lift and said the donut lift (periareolar) would work well. I decided on silicone once I felt the implants and I was shown one cut open and how it doesn't actually leak out. Originally picked 325cc HP but then went back and changed to 275cc Mod+. I'm a small B now and a runner and was concerned the 325 would be too large for me. I really just want my breasts to be pretty again not a lot larger.
As for the TT, I didn't know until I went to the consult that I have an umbilical hernia and diastasis recti. So much makes sense about the way my stomach looks and lower back pain I've been having now. My PS made sure that I understood I would be trading those issues (along with loose skin of course) for a scar. To me my stomach issues are mainly medical and I feel like my quality of life will improve once I heal so I said, "Lets do it!" Dr. Bennett has her full TT patients stay overnight night in the mother/baby wing of the hospital. At first I didn't want to do that but am now glad. My husband is a stay at home dad so I'm lucky in that regard for my recovery. Dr. Bennett is very thorough which is great but it will be a 5 to 6 hour surgery!!!!! Really excited and really nervous.

Surgery is a week from today. I'm feeling pretty calm and hoping that lasts. Cleaned a lot today. My blood work and preop with the hospital are Friday and I plan on shopping for everything I need that day as well. Will probably actually buy a recliner because we don't have one and our bed is really low. Can't imagine getting in and out of it the first week. Here is a before photo. I'm 5'3" and 125 - 130 lbs, athletic/curvy build. Current bra size is a saggy barely B. Hoping for perky full B to small C.

Thanks for sharing your story and photos. You might want to add your surgery date to this calendar to get support from others getting their procedures around the same time. What is your biggest concern about the surgery?

The drains are irritating but once you get the hang of it they're not too bad. Make sure you safety pin them to your TT binder so they're secure & won't be able to be pulled out. Get a lanyard or an exercise stretchy band to wrap around your neck to attach your drains to while you shower. Showering with drains is the most uncomfortable part about drains it just feels weird! I wore underwear (not too tight) & laid the tube sideways against my skin & pulled my underwear over gently then made sure I looped the remaining tube of the drain in a circle & safety pinned them to my binder so they were super secure. Just try to remember you want to keep your drains in as long as possible, they are draining the fluid & once they come out you will swell some, I did. My advice don't rush having the drains removed. If you want info on how to "milk" the drain tubes you can private message me & I'll explain it. I hope your surgery goes well! ;)

Sorry for late reply. 9 days post op right now and feeling pretty good. First week was rough but not more than I expected I don't think. So grateful for this site though because without it I would have been totally unprepared and I think completely overwhelmed the first week. I'm glad I had a good idea of what to expect. My PS was really forthcoming too though on how rough the first week would be. She said days 1-3 were the main pain days and days 4-7 were the WTH was I thinking days!! She was right :)

I feel the same way about having this site. I would have been terrified! I'm 6 wedks on Friday & I'm loving my results! Every day will get better. Make sure to take pics at least once a week so you can compare them to your befores & your first week. I am amazed at how I changed from before & each week! Happy healing ;)
