I have always been a very petite skinny person. 5 foot 1 and maybe 100 pounds. I have to work out a lot and add muscle to have curves. The one place I couldn't get much curve was my booty. After contemplating butt implants for years I was read to ask My dr about the surgery. She was amazing at finding the PERFECT shaped implant and size. We kept it natural and athletic. dr Talbott assured me that if we were careful in choosing an appropriate size that I would have the least likelihood of the complications you see with butt implants. I had my surgery March 17 2020. The surgery went awesome. The pain was more than I anticipated but tolerable. I had butt implants under the muscle no drains and had no complications . I'm at week 8-9 post op and I have no regrets! I wish I'd have done it sooner!!!! She's as usual a wonder with the knife! My results are proportionate to my body and fill out my clothes. Scars are hidden well. She was right there to answer questions by phone if I had any. Best decision ! Very happy. Updated on 17 Jun 2020: I developed redness around the wound and I saw my dr.. she aspirated some fluid that didn’t look good . She then made a small incision to allow for draining and packed the wound. So sent fluid for culture . On antibiotics. Waiting for results. Might have remove implants and replace. Hopefully not. Very anxious and stressed out .. Updated on 22 Aug 2020: Couldn’t be happier with the result. A few bumps in the healing process but it was resolved. With anything especially BUTT IMPLANTS it’s imperative you listen to your Dr And follow the after care to the T.....
Next Thursday, 11/21, I go in for a breast lift and tummy tuck, and I'm not as nervous about the surgery as I am about the time off work. I am a self-employed hair stylist and just had to take two weeks off for a hysterectomy. For this next surgery, I am unable to take as much time off, plus it's the beginning of the holiday rush. As of now my surgery is scheduled on a Thursday, I will have four days off, one day of two haircuts, a long and busy day and then 6 days off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Reading reviews on here, the first 4 or 5 days are pretty rough. Can anyone out there give me some insight, tips, recommendations? Or maybe scold me and tell me I'm an idiot? Updated on 15 Nov 2019: I gave birth to 3 babies and breasted all 3 for a year, give or take a month. My breasts have always been a bit large for my frame and during pregnancy and breastfeeding they became gigantic and uncomfortable. They have since deflated but are still too large and saggy. I have diastasis, stretched skin and stretch marks, which no matter how hard I work out will never improve to my liking. I had a hysterectomy almost 3 weeks ago, so the bruise and two little incisions are from the laparoscopic surgery, which was my very first surgery btw. Due to having large fibroids and endometriosis I haven't been able to exercise like I should and put on weight and muscle tone has diminished. I'm so excited to get back in shape and having smaller, perkier breasts will be amazing! Honestly, I have always hated the attention my large breasts get, and the stares and comments bug me. I am always trying to hide them and find myself slouching, which is hard on the neck and shoulders. I look forward to being able to stand up straight, chin up, tits out! I have been VERY strict about following doctor's pre-op instructions. I am hoping for an easy and quick recovery. Updated on 20 Nov 2019: I haven’t slept well the last few days because I think I’m nervous about surgery tomorrow! I did all of my hospital pre-admitting yesterday, worked a really long day and have a really long, busy day today. I’m not expecting to get much sleep tonight and have to check in to the surgery center at 5am tomorrow morning. Surgery is scheduled for 7am. I have been waiting for this for over 10 years and never thought I would actually get it done! My youngest child is now almost 12, and I feel it’s a good time to do something for me, even though I have feelings of guilt about it. Wish me luck!!! I will pay updates when I can:-) Updated on 23 Nov 2019: I had my surgery on Thursday 11/21, and all went well. I meant to write an update sooner, but it’s taken me quite a while to come out of anesthesia. I felt quite queasy until late last night. I started off taking pain meds every 4 hours to be ahead of the pain and have now stretched it to every 6 hours. Pain is not horrible, but I am starting to itch at the incision sites under my breasts. Benadryl has helped. I’m also taking the recovery vitamins from VitaMedica. I went in yesterday morning to have my dressings changed and they said my incisions look great so far. I was able to take my first shower this morning and hung my drains in a lanyard as suggested by several ladies on here. Yesterday I slept almost the whole day, but today I feel really alert and will try and go for a short walk. I’m happy with what I see and will post photos soon. I was so tired after my shower I just wanted to get dressed and get back to bed. I’m looking ahead to another few days when I’m feeling a little stronger and less swollen. I’m drinking a lot of water and peeing A LOT!! I’m sure swelling will go down over time. Updated on 25 Nov 2019: These are the first post-op photos I’ve posted! I have been pretty out of it the last few days, resting and napping. I’ve been cutting way back on pain meds because they make me feel loopy and nauseated even after I’ve eaten something. I took one last night at bedtime and I may take one tonight, we’ll see. I’m really excited to feel even better in a couple of weeks! I go to the PS for a follow up a week from today. Thanksgiving kinda threw the schedule off, but I’m happy to have those days off to recover. Hopefully I can get drains taken out! The front-closure bra rubs on the incisions under my breasts, so I place a padded bandage in between which helps a lot. I have a lot of tightness in my tummy , but I can stand pretty straight. My back gets sore toward the end of the day, and I find I get grouchier, because I get super tired and sore. I take my VitaMedica Recovery vitamins every day and my antibiotic 3 times/day. I’m also taking arnica and seem to have pretty minimal bruising so far. I’ve also gotten out for a short walk every day since I’ve been home and will try and walk today. It’s cold and windy, though, and I’m a wuss in the cold. Maybe I should go to the mall and do laps! Updated on 30 Nov 2019: Every day I’m feeling a bit better and stronger. My back muscles are killing me though! I can almost stand straight, but my tummy incision burns and feels tight still. Breasts seem to be healing really well, although the bra band makes them itch. I keep padded gauze pads between the band and my skin which helps. I go in Monday for my post-op appointment, and I’m hoping to have at least the left drain removed. I’m barely getting any fluid out of it, and the right drain I get about 20 ml in a 24 hour period. My belly button is looking much better and healing nicely! I was a little afraid it was going to heal funny. I’m trying to rest as much as possible over this nice, long holiday weekend, because I go back to work on Wednesday. I’m a hairstylist and this happens to be the busiest time of the year for us, with Christmas parties and family get togethers coming up. I haven’t taken the prescription pain meds since about 3 days post-op and take Tylenol as needed. I have about 5 days left of the antibiotics. I’m also taking really good recovery multi-vitamins from VitaMedica and also arnica tabs. I normally bruise really bad, but don’t seem to have much bruising, thank goodness. I’ll post an update on Monday after my PS appointment:-) Updated on 2 Dec 2019: I went in today for my 2nd post-op appointment to have steri-tape changed and to get one drain removed. I was hoping that both drains would be removed today, but my right drain is still collecting fluid and will increase now that the left drain is gone. What an off feeling that was to have the drain taken out! Incisions and navel look great and I’ll go back next Monday to follow up and hopefully have the right drain removed. Those things are a bit of a nuisance. Updated on 8 Dec 2019: Every day I am feeling stronger and having less and less pain and discomfort. Sneezing still hurts though! I started back to work last Tuesday, which is 2 days shy of 2 weeks after surgery. I really wish I would’ve given myself more time off!! I am a hairstylist, and this happens to be a crazy time at work as well as in life. I get home and I’m exhausted. I would normally take a hot bath with Epsom salts, but haven’t been released to do so yet. Tomorrow I go to see the PS to hopefully have 2nd drain removed and to be released for baths. I’m really in need of exercise but I have been so busy at work I haven’t been able to go for my walks. I’m really looking forward to the holidays being over so life can get back to normal. Every year I say I am not going to overdo it at work and spend more time with my family, and every year I wind up working too much and resenting the season. Ugh. Anyway, I hope everyone’s recoveries are going well, and if you’re about to have surgery, good luck and speedy recovery!! Updated on 10 Dec 2019: Yesterday I got that pesky 2nd drain taken out, and what a difference!! I was always catching it on clothing or when I’d go pee, and the entry site was red and irritated. Plus, having to strip and milk the tubes and having to empty every day was becoming a nuisance. I also had all steri-strips removed. Incision sites look good and I see the PS on 1/9 to talk about scar therapy and to hopefully be released for higher cardio exercise, weights and hot baths. I need my hot baths and Epsom salts, especially as the temps get cold. After work, this time of year, baths save my back and m sanity. I’m running out of time this morning and will try and post photos in the next day or two:-) Updated on 11 Dec 2019: Tomorrow will be exactly 3 weeks since my breast lift/reduction and tummy tuck. I am feeling better every day! I started taking Arnica and VitaMedica Recovery vitamins 1 week before surgery and continue to take them religiously until they’re gone. I honestly believe that vitamins and nutrition make a HUGE difference in recovering from surgery. I DO NOT SMOKE!!! I eat nutrient rich, clean food when possible, trying to eat as many Super Foods as possible and lots of protein. I was on antibiotics for 2 whole weeks and made sure to eat whole fat, Greek yogurt with berries and either walnuts or pecans every day. I would sweeten with monk fruit sweetener. I stopped taking the OxyContin 3 or 4 days after surgery, because they make me loopy. Pain was actually not bad, and Tylenol and ice packs helped. I make sure to walk every day, even if it’s just around the block. I am going to continue wearing my waist binder, because I feel more support when standing at work and while sleeping. I still get tired at the end of the day and rest when I get home. Luckily there is plenty to watch on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. I have to mention that I did have guilt and some regret right after surgery, which I think is normal due to the cost and recovery of elective surgery. Mostly, I am so happy I finally did this for myself!! My surgeon is wonderful and did an amazing job! I am loving my new boobs and tummy and know that every day will be better as I continue to heal. I’m really ready to get out and ski and snowshoe and can’t wait to get the ok!! Updated on 11 Dec 2019: Updated on 11 Dec 2019: Here are the photos!! Updated on 20 Dec 2019: Every day gets a little better. My abdomen still feels right and I wear my binder for about 20 hours/day. I feel better wearing it, especially at work where I’m on my feet for hours at a time. The incisions underneath my breasts look angry and they itch like crazy! Hopefully part of the healing process. I like being able to post on here for my own benefit, too! It’s nice being able to document the progress of my healing and to also see everyone else’s healing. Updated on 2 Jan 2020: Today is exactly 6 weeks since my tummy tuck, breast lift/reduction and flank lipo, and I feel pretty awesome other than a nagging head cold. Every day I feel better, stronger and in less pain. I gained about 5 lbs over the Christmas and New Year holiday and am determined to get back to eating clean and exercising daily. I go in next week to meet with the doctor and will post more photos then.
After 6 children I really needed some repair done to the muscles in my stomach . No matter how much I cut calories I always had a tummy. This was because the muscles holding everything were stretched out from babies. Dr. Talbott addressed my concerns and as always did a fantastic job. I had a full tummy tuck with some flank lipo and muscle repair. The surgery was a breeze and the end result was better than I ever thought. I had no idea how badly I needed this . I’m only 110 lbs but this made a huge difference . I can work out and do sit ups without pain and my abdominal wall is strong again. The reason I chose Dr Talbott as my surgeon is because she’s an artist. She cares about what the scar will look like she takes her time and goes the extra mile. This woman is so genuine and caring and the entire office staff are nothing short of amazing. This is not a surgeon that will just take your money and get you out . This is also not a surgeon who will agree to do anything and everything. I have been told by her honestly at times when I didn’t warrant certain procedures . She has reconstructed my nose , my breasts and done numerous fillers for me. I will continue to see her as long as she’s practicing. I have had other surgeons before her and once I found her I knew that I hadn’t done my research on the other surgeons. As far as I’m concerned, best surgeon in Reno. Very happy..
Amazingly professional from start to finish. Dr Talbot is an artist and a surgeon. Her team is friendly and supportive. Dr Talbot did my 360 body lift and breast lift band I am so happy with my results! She is amazing.
I had an amazing experience with Dr Talbott from start to finish. She performed a lower face and neck lift on me. I’m very happy with my results. I had tried to have this corrected with 2 other local plastic surgeons with no results. I decided to consult with Dr Talbott and I’m so happy that I did and I made the right decision to have the surgery done by her wish I would have found her first. I would have save quite a bit of money and the pain of going through 2 other surges she quoted me $7900. Which is far less than the other 2 doctors and Dr Talbott did an amazing surgery on me Dr. Talbott is a true artist in her profession of plastic surgery I trust her and her knowledgeable and caring staff and recommend Dr Talbott for any plastic surgery procedure. She is in my opinion the best!
There are two reasons why I chose Dr Talbot as my plastic surgeon. #1 She is physically fit and works out so she understands the body I am going for and concerns as someone who lift weights. #2 She views plastic surgery as an art form. Your body is the sculpture that she is molding. She took the extra time to line up the band around my left arm during my brachioplasty and making what was left of the sun around my navel actually look good post-op.
I started having consultations 15 years ago with a handful of other plastic surgeons throughout the years - to have a mini lift and upper eyelid lift. Each Surgeon told me they would be done with the procedure in two hours and would use staples to close the incisions up. Yikes. When I met Dr. Talbot almost three years ago, she was so down to earth, and treated me like I was a human being, rather than seeing dollar signs. I scheduled the surgery for last week.. finally! The mini lift and upper eye lift was done this last Friday, and I was awake for the procedure, feeling very little - mostly pulling a bit. Dr. Talbott also did a fat transplant, botox, and a filler, so that my face looked fuller. While it is only 5 days since the surgery, I went out for lunch with my husband, no bruising, very little swelling. My husband keeps saying I look like his daughter (he's the same age as me) My neck looks fabulous, my eye lids have no bruising, and the fullness in my face and lips is phenomenal. Cannot rave enough about Dr. Talbot. .
In 2012 I had weight loss surgery and lost 70 pounds but with weight loss comes hanging skin (pannus) and I was so self conscious about the extra skin on my stomach. I spoke to a few surgeons prior to meeting Dr. Talbott. My husband and I drove from California to Nevada 3 1/2 hours when I got to her office I received such a warm greeting and her office is beautiful. I was escorted to a room and Dr. Talbott walks in and have me the biggest smile immediately she put my mind at ease. I informed her of what I wanted done and showed her. I was so embarrassed with how I looked, she said you look great and are so tiny. I have not heard that in so long it made me feel good. Dr. Talbott showed me before and after pictures and never rushed the appointment but answered every question I had. When I left her office, I knew she was the one. On surgery day she knew I was nervous and calmed me down let me know everything would be just fine. My results are beyond what I expected. My family swore I have had a tummy tuck because I look good but most of all I feel great and will be going back to Dr. Talbott again my arms need some TLC
After having my last baby I decided that I wanted new implants. I was never happy with the ones that I had from a previous doctor in the area. I had a consult in October with Dr. Talbott and she was able to explain why I hated my previous implants. She showed me the implant that would be a better choice than the ones I had and I felt like she really took her time. She took pictures and measurements and we went trough some pictures as examples. Today I had my revision and the surgery was a breeze. She even spoke to my husband and I after the surgery and gave us info and a way to contact her if needed . We traveled from out of town for this procedure.. I am not nearly as sore as I was in the past. (I have had 3 previous augmentations).. I have very little pain! From what I can already see they are 100% better than what I had. She is amazing. I think I finally have what I wanted!
I have wanted implants since about 16 when I realized they were just never gonna get any bigger. It never created a self confidence issue in though and I actually really liked my little boobs cause they had great shape. BUT - I still wanted them bigger and I finally decided to pull the trigger. I started my journey about a year ago with consultations and ended up settling on Dr. Talbott in my hometown. She was recommended to my by several people and I felt nothing but comfort and excitement when we met. Fast forward a year later and we had our final follow o before surgery. We confirmed size and shape that was going for and talked about a lot - she was so helpful and informative . Updated on 23 Nov 2017: So far day 2 has been pretty great. 6 hours between pain pills. I got to remove my wrap and shower today then put on a sports bra. They look great for their current state. Lots of dropping to do still. The craziest part is the amount of bloating I have in my abdominals. I’m so bloated that you can’t see a single piece of definition - it’s just round and shapeless. I hope that clears up soon. Updated on 25 Nov 2017: The pst few days have been really good. I was so apprehensive about Lin and whatnot before but it’s turned out to be really easy. Yesterday I went back to Percocet every 4 hours - the paid really caught up with me and I decided I’d rather be comfortable than try to be a hero! I messaged my dr yesterday and asked if I could go without the surgical bra and she said during the day that is fine but I must wear it at night. I thought that was only fair! So I went braless for several hours and really enjoyed it. My surgical bra is quite tight and so taking it off makes the girls feel like they can breath. Not to mention they are incredibly fun to look at. I’m so in love. I actually rented a nice big comfy electric recliner before my surgery and have been sleeping in that and I have to say - best decision. It has made sleep a non issue. Is very comfy, I don’t have any back pain upon waking and o sleep great. Slept for a full 8 hours last night without taking another Percocet too!! Today was great - braless most of the day. Tried on some clothes - bought a new sports bra and walked around a ton. My pec muscles did get really tired by mid afternoon though and so I came home and iced them. I also cut back on the perc today. Took one in the am, the. Tylenol extra strength 6 hours layer. Ended p taking a Percocet about 10 hours after the one this morning. I hope tomorrow I can make it all day on just the Tylenol. Updated on 27 Nov 2017: Today was my first post op with Dr. Typically she sees her patients the day after surgery but since mine was the day before Thanksgiving we had to wait. So - all is going very well. She said they look like they are healing great and the incision looks like it is healing nicely. She gave me a strap to wear to push them implants down and get them settling. She does not want them to come any closer in towards the center though. Wants me to wear the surgical bra and strap as much as possible during the day but it’s ok to spend time without them. But must see both every night while sleeping. No cardio for the first 3-4 weeks. She will see me back 12/11 and see how things are going. I hope she clears me to get moving then!
Hi, Flofio. You have a significant size difference between both breasts. A breast lift with a breast reduction on one side, as well as bilateral implants will help obtain symmetry and a beautiful shape. Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this, as it is considered cosmetic. I hope this information helps and good luck!
Hi, sslack18. Your expectations are completely reasonable. I think it is very important to meet the plastic surgeon who will be performing a procedure on you. You must feel comfortable and confident in your decision when selecting a plastic surgeon. I believe getting to know your doctor during a consultation helps develop a relationship and trust that you must have when making a life-altering decision. It is also imperative that you feel comfortable asking them questions along with what type of techniques he or she uses as every surgeon has their own style. Personally, I do not care for "trying on" sizers. Trying on sizers does not give the patient a good indication of how the implant will look under the skin. The skin is one of the most important factors as to size, as well as where the implant will be placed. It is important for you to know all of your options, including types and texturing of implants. Above all, make sure you are seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. I hope this helps and good luck!
Hi, L8kergirl7789. The hardest part of the post-operative period is the swelling. This takes time and can sometimes take up to 6 months until results are final. I have found that the amount of tissue removed coincides with the swelling. The more that is removed the more swelling a patient will experience. Anytime liposuction is involved there tends to be a lot of swelling that can take months to resolve. Compression garments and massage will help dissipate swelling quicker. I hope this helps. Hang in there and stay positive!
Hello, ghost01. To answer your question:Breast augmentation alone should not affect your ability to breast feed. If the breast augmentation is combined with other breast procedures like a Mastopexy, this may increase problems with breast feeding in the future. Approximately 20% of these patients that have a breast lift along with breast augmentation may have difficulty breast feeding. If you are having just the breast augmentation, I recommend placing the implants under the muscle and the incision as far from the nipple as possible. I hope this helps!
Hello, babycakes35. To answer your question:The umbilicus always looks peculiar after abdominolplasty. The swelling pushes the umbilicus out giving it the appearance of an "outie" and swelling can last up to several weeks. I often recommend placing a compression dressing to push the umbilicus back in, reducing the swelling as it heals. Once the swelling goes away the umbilicus will retract back into the area. Occasionally the incision will also bubble out if there are stretchmarks and/ or swelling in the same area. This will also go away. The hardest part of this, really, is being patient :) Hang in there!
