6 week mark!

Optimistic0104

Today is exactly 6 weeks since my tummy tuck, breast lift/reduction and flank lipo, and I feel pretty awesome other than a nagging head cold. Every day I feel better, stronger and in less pain. I gained about 5 lbs over the Christmas and New Year holiday and am determined to get back to eating clean and exercising daily. I go in next week to meet with the doctor and will post more photos then.

You look great! Congrats! Is there anything you wish you did differently? If you don’t mind me asking, how tall are you? What was your starting weight? I’m 5’9” and 180 I’m fairly athletic build, thinking of having liposuction on flanks, hips and thighs and possibly do fat grafting into face and breasts, maybe do implants to get the look I’m wanting.

Thank you!! I'm 5'6" and 135 lbs. The one thing I regret is not taking more time off from work. Also, I thought scheduling my surgery a week before Thanksgiving would be a good time because I could take time off for the holiday. It was too busy in my personal life and at work. I came back to the Christmas rush and wound up exhausted and with a negative attitude. As for what I had done surgically, I am VERY happy. Lipo of my flanks made a difference in my figure I didn't think would be possible. It hurt though!

Thank you so much! Yes. I’ve heard that liposuction is super painful. Worse than TT or the cuts from having breast lift or breast implants.

Girl, I had no idea! The compression garment helps a lot with the pain and swelling, and of course ice. When is your surgery scheduled?

Mine isn’t scheduled yet. I haven’t found a doctor And I’m back and forth about having surgery. Not sure I’ll ever be happy with my body. I have never been. And three kids later....the reality that my body won’t be as perfect as I imagine. (I’m super worried I’ll be obsessed about any scars from surgery or liposuction and then wish I didn’t spend the money etc.) bring on here you see great results like yours, but then you also see some of the crazy bad things that happen too.

4 weeks and 1 day since surgery!

Optimistic0104
Every day gets a little better. My abdomen still feels right and I wear my binder for about 20 hours/day. I feel better wearing it, especially at work where I’m on my feet for hours at a time. The incisions underneath my breasts look angry and they itch like crazy! Hopefully part of the healing process.
I like being able to post on here for my own benefit, too! It’s nice being able to document the progress of my healing and to also see everyone else’s healing.

Im wondering what the scars look like at 6 months. Im getting close to making a decision the those are brutally big incisions & I wonder if they disappear

I'm not even 2 months out, and I'm told that they are healing rapidly. I see my doctor on Thursday and she will recommend what to do next, including scar therapy. I can't obviously predict how they will look in 6 months, but I'm impressed how well everything is healing after only 2 months. And FYI, they will never completely disappear, only fade, so if that's a turn-off for you, then I wouldn't recommend surgery.

You look so great. I’m so curious how you feel about only taking 2 weeks off for this procedure. I had to reschedule my surgery, which has lessened the amount of time I can take off. I was going to have 4 weeks of because of the holiday break, but they have rescheduled for January 4th, so I can only take 2 weeks off, maybe 3 at most. What have your thoughts been on going back to work and how your days are going? Thanks!
December 12, 2019
I wish I would've taken an extra week or even 2 more weeks for a total of 4 weeks off. I was so tired and overwhelmed coming back, because I was trying to make up for those 2 weeks I had off. Definitely take the extra time if you can!

Thank you for responding. I have to admit, it’s very impressive that you are back to work, on your feet all day so soon. I can only hope I am as strong. I’m going to go with 3 weeks. Hopefully that will be sufficient. I have a desk job, so not nearly as hard to return I’m sure. That’s awesome you are doing so well and your results really are fantastic. I wish you happy continued healing

Thank you and definitely take the time even if you don't think you need it! And good luck with your surgery! Have you been able to schedule it?
December 12, 2019
Oops! I just noticed that you do have it scheduled for January!
December 12, 2019
Yes, it was supposed to happen the 7th of December but my EKG had an issue so more testing was needed. I’m cleared now so good to go for January. My nerves that I already got over are all back again lol.

Oh no!! Yeah that's frustrating, and I'm glad you're ok! Please keep us all updated so we know how you're doing.
