I had breast augmentation awake with Dr Kim 6 months ago and recently had my followup with him. It's been a smooth experience from the start. I met with 2 other plastic surgeons in bev hills before my consultation with Dr. Kim. All of the consultations went fine but I felt like Dr. Kim didn't try to push or sell me on surgery and I didn't feel rushed or pressured. I didn't know anything about awake surgery before meeting him. He explained all the benefits of local anesthesia how it's safer on the body and even our memory. My surgery went smoothly and I felt totally fine during and after. My family was shocked that I didn't need to rest. I went back to work 3 days later. It didn't even feel like I had surgery. My last followup went great and I thanked Dr. Kim who is very humble and kind. I'm really happy with my results and my breasts feel soft and natural. I made the best decision choosing Dr. Kim and would go back for any surgery without hesitation. Awake is the way to go!
I had a blepharoplasty both eyes, ptosis repair, lip lift, face and neck lift. Dr. Kim is very skilled and did a beautiful job with my eyes and ptosis repair. I am still in the recovery stages but can see the results and benefits with each passing week.
10 months in now and I feel comfortable writing a review on my blepharoplasty procedure! Prior to getting the surgery, I didn't actually know about Realself (lol), and to be honest if I had seen these reviews I most likely would have chosen a different doctor. Thankfully, Dr. Kim is skilled, my healing process went fairly smoothly, and I experienced no difficulties during recovery. For the most part I like my new eyes, though I'm a bit torn on the results. The double eyelids are a major improvement to my old monolids, albeit a bit asymmetrical. It seems like the cuts were made slightly differently; my right eye looks natural, but it's like the left cut wasn't as deep, and tapers upwards a bit instead of down like on the right. As a result, some days my left eyelid crease looks a bit sleepy and sausage-y thick. I can also "feel" the crease more on the left when I look upwards. The doctor was gracious and gave me a complimentary ptosis revisions on the left crease, but it hasn't made much of a difference. I don't think I'd do any more revisions because it was quite painful, so I think I'm pretty much set with these eyes. I am still pretty happy with the results because with some makeup and false eyelashes, the unevenness is hardly noticeable (it's just a hassle to do heavy makeup every day). Would I do the surgery again? Yes I would, but it's a bit odd and jarring to look at myself especially in a reverse mirror. I think it's probably just impossible to guarantee 100% perfect results with something like this every time. I don't believe anyone really cares about the minor asymmetry except for myself either, as half of my friends didn't even notice my surgery. So to anyone looking to get this procedure done, I would just say to do your research and be prepared for possible unevenness.
The natural choice for any person seeking Rhinoplasty would be to work with Doctor Kim. He's conducted field shaping research of high-impact factor and is world-renowned. This is probably intuitive, but it's a simple truth backed by an overwhelmingly positive personal experience.
"THANK YOU" Dr. Kenneth Kim! He has genuinely "changed" my life! I am so fortunate to have met him! He is very talented with surgical skills, very passionate and takes a meticulous scientific approach for his work to ensure the best outcome for his patients. I’m an Asian male, and had eye lid surgery done by Dr. Kenneth Kim. Because of him, I am finally confident whenever I'm in contact and talking to people in social settings as well as my professional settings. I can now, finally and confidently make continuous eye contact with people and feel very comfortable! I’m also confident in making eye contact with girls...lol...but THIS IS TRUE! After Dr. Kenneth Kim worked on my eyes, I am now able to open my eyes fully, without having to frown my forehead. Please don't hesitate to contact me, should you want to see my eye lid surgery pictures. I will gladly send it to you. Dr. Kim, strengthened my eye muscles drastically, and now I can open my eyes without frowning, and he also created a nice natural fold on my eye lids. I was very nervous about the eye lid surgery. Hence, I contacted two plastic surgeons in South Pasadena, and another one in Beverly Hills. Why I decided to go with Dr. Kim, was because he made me feel comfortable, and was very honest and realistic about the entire process. He consulted with me about what I can expect, and was very realistic and honest about my goals. He never tried to convince or push me into getting the surgery. His price was also reasonable. As any event, you should plan ahead for scheduling,...he was accommodating to my schedule. Before the surgery, his nurses will provide you a list in advance; and help you prepare for the surgery by calling in the prescription for your antibiotics and the eye cream, so you will be prepared for a comfortable healing at home. Surgery day: The nurses assisted me with all the necessary pre-operation preparation, and made me feel very comfortable. At the beginning of the surgery, I was given a local anesthesia, and I was pleasantly surprised because of lack of any pain during the surgery..., he was also very personable and spoke to me during the surgery. He asked me, and made sure that I was doing OK throughout the entire surgery. After I went home, the swelling was naturally there, but after about three days, the swelling started to slowly go down. The first day after the surgery, it was uncomfortable, naturally. About the second and third day, the discomfort was almost gone, and it was crazy how there was really not much pain at all! My lack of any major bruises nor lack of pain is an attribute to Dr. Kenneth Kim's meticulous and relatively non-invasive surgical skills, that puts him above his peers. Dr. Kim is extremely professional and diligent....right after the surgery, he was already making detailed notes regarding my surgery, so that he will be accurate on his comments and notes regarding me. As I was leaving, they provided me with nice two soft ice packs for my eyes, and offered a three month post-op consultation. Because of the nice experience, I wanted to go back to see the staff and Dr. Kim, but I never had to go back, because everything went very well. As days went by, my eyes look better and better, and the swelling went away ...I am so fortunate to have met Dr. Kim. I thank him for my confidence whenever I'm with people, and especially whenever I go out on a social event for the evening. For all Asians and non Asians, I would seriously and 'strongly" recommend to go see Dr. Kenneth Kim! Have a realistic expectation, and he will pleasantly exceed your expectation and change your social life!
I have had the same breast size since 9 years old! Everyone thought they would be huge, so I think they jinxed me! I stayed at a 32A or AA. My ribcage is actually 27 inches, and I have 38 inch hips. I wanted to balance my out shape. My surgery was today, took about 5 hours and I am in some discomfort at the moment. We'll see how the boobies look soon! Updated on 26 Mar 2015: I had 280 cc Mentor Memory Shape silicone implants with subfascial placement. Periareolar incision and local anesthetic. No painkillers post op except for Tylenol. Updated on 26 Mar 2015: Updated on 28 Mar 2015: Updated on 30 Mar 2015: Dropping into position nicely. And hello side boob!! Some sharp pains as my skin is stretching and shiny and feels tingly. Updated on 31 Mar 2015: I can raise an arm! i see a bit of square boob thing going on thou so after massage i'll probably be sore. So no more arm raising :/ Updated on 3 Apr 2015: Updated on 7 Apr 2015: My surgical tape fell off and I hadn't thought to pick it before. I finally got to see what my insicions look like (well I saw them during surgery but i'm blocking that imagery lol). There's a tiny flick on either end of the insicion site because teardrop implants need a longer insicion to insert. Doc said not squashing them too much helps maintain the inegrity of the implant. The area feels smooth, not itchy or painful or red. I'd say healing well :) Updated on 10 Apr 2015: I'm so tired of being nipply in clothes or hiding my chest in my hubby's tshirts! So I took the girls bra shopping. I had picked up a well fitting 32DD bra from wacoal so off I went to Macy's to try some more of that brand on. All the reviews were favorable for these especially for small band sizes like myself. I won't update any nude pics until I see any favorable changes in the girls. They still have yellow bruises and uneven nipples and some upper pole swelling that I don't love. They look perfect in bras thou :):):): On another note does anyone else find bra sizing to be random as $%#*? Omg what a hassle Updated on 10 Apr 2015: Updated on 26 Apr 2015: My boobies had their first month anniversary this week! I couldn't be happier with them, despite some slight boob greed here and there. They feel super soft and jiggle enough that non supportive bras are not an option. I never ever had that feeling before! I was sad to have to get rid of a few dresses and tops that didnt fit. And all my padded bras! Threw out the add two cup bras, the pushup gel pads and chicken cutlets. Becase Im still small chested, I don't look like I had a BA at all. I'm Happy with that :) As far as healing, I have some occasional soreness if I lay on my chest for too long. One of my nipples has some numbness here and there. Scars look fine, I'm not using anything on them. Should I? I'm Massaging when I remember to. cold air doesn't me shrivel up anymore thankfully. All in all, uneventful recovery @one month mark :):):)
My eyes have been constantly complimented by my friends and family. They turned out beautifully! Bigger, rounder yet natural looking. Totally a satisfied customer. He was very quick to understand my desired results and have me his full attention during our consult. Really professional and skilled doctor. Been thinking of getting rhioplasty as well so will definitely see Dr. Kim for this procedure.
Great experience going to Dr. Kim! Genuine nice guy that is an expert in this field. Was easy breezy from consultation to procedure to post op. His staff was very friendly and helpful in getting me through this procedure. They really made me feel calm and comfortable. I remember being really nervous the day of surgery and Dr. Kim talking me through it. He told me everything he was doing in the procedure which made me feel at ease. This doctor goes above and beyond to ensure his patients are happy and taken care of from start to finish.
I went to Dr. Kenneth Kim for my double eye lid and rhinoplasty. I was referred by my Aunt who had the procedure done with Dr. Kim a little over a year ago. She was had amazing results. I would describe her results as dramatic but subtle. I knew that there was something different about how she looked. She had a more youthful look, but I could not figure out what was different. When I told her I was thinking about getting my eyes done, she finally revealed her secret to me. I could not believe it! I immediately set up an appointment to see Dr. Kim. I met with Dr. Kim on a weekday morning. As soon as I walked into the office, I was welcomed by his receptionist who offered me a beverage. They had coffee, tea or ice water. I was then taken to the waiting area. The office was very modern, simple and clean. After a few minutes Dr. Kim came out and greeted me. Very nice looking man in person and very friendly personality. We walked over to his office and sat at his desk. He asked me what kind of fold I wanted for my eyes and my desired results for my nose. I brought some pictures to give him a good idea of what I wanted for my eyes and nose. He looked at them and then began to analyze my face carefully. He informed me what was required to create such a look. He went over step by step what would be done. I needed to remove some fatty tissue from my upper eye lid and get epicanthoplasty to create that larger look for my eyes. He also said I would need to increase my bridge and slim down my alar base to get that refined look I wanted. I asked him for before and afters and he brought out many photos of his patients to look at where he performed similar procedures on. Seeing the before and after photos only confirmed Dr. Kim’s experience and high quality skills. His patients looked much more improved but in a very natural way. After my surgery, I was completely satisfied with my results!! Healing time was not as long as I thought considering I had two surgeries. Had no issues with recovery. Dr. Kim was still great with following up though just to make sure I was healing ok. This doctor is truly amazing!! My eyes looked more refreshed and brighter and my nose looks more feminine and soft. My confidence is through the roof with my gorgeous results!! Thank you Dr. Kim for giving me exactly what I wanted and taking such good care of me!!
10 stars. excellent technical surgeon with great artistic hands. incredibly patient and understanding. well trained versatile dedicated staff. beautifully designed office. after extensive research coupled with recommendations from other colleagues, my mother had a very successful surgical outcome with a smooth quick recovery.
You have left upper eyelid ptosis and this is evident because: 1) Increased fold height in the left eye; 2) decreased iris, also known as color aspect of the eye, that is being shown in the left eye; 3) a full or complete eye elevation on the right. You could tell that the left eye is slightly lowered than the right. Therefore, ptosis revision is needed. You do not have to wait three months for ptosis revision. The reason is that the more you wait, the more scar formation occurs, since the longer you wait, there is more chance for scar tissue to firmly set. It is recommended to prevent any adhesion from occurring. Therefore, I recommend an early revision so that you do not have to live with eyelid asymmetry and also prevent any excess scar formation.
For a 19-year-old to have a small lagophthalmos after double eyelid surgery is not uncommon and it usually goes away after a few weeks with or without tape. Therefore, taping was not completely necessary. The reason why your brow feels heavy is that, because the double eyelid surgery clears any excess skin that hoods over, you now would not have to use you brow to elevate the excess skin. You should feel the brow descending and this is just a sensation that your brow is now low in position. Another reason why your brows may feel heavy is that you might have weakness in your eye-elevating muscle. If your eye-elevating muscle is naturally weak, you would try to raise your eyelid and also try to raise your brow at the same time. This would cause your eyes to feel heavy and tired. Thus it is a good idea to get your eyes evaluated. I also want to add that the most important thing is how you would look overall after the surgery, as how one looks often correlates well with your physiologic conditions during the surgery.
You have made a good observation in that a person without double eyelids will have eyelashes that are aiming down. Also, not only would the eyelashes be aiming down, but if there is excess upper eyelid skin pushing down against the eyelashes, then it can also cause irritation to the cornea or irritation in sensation. However, by having a double eyelid surgery the eyelashes move up. One can think of the mechanism as a blanket that is just hanging versus somebody pushing that blanket in. Then what happens is that the bottom part of the blanket would elevate in height but still would want to touch the ground due to gravity. Just like this, when a crease is made on the eyelid, the eyelashes that are aiming down move up about 90 degrees. This is just a pure physical mechanism of a surface area that is being pushed in a concave manner.
You’re correct in that traditional double eyelid surgery does not make the eyes bigger. One would think that their eyes have gotten bigger after getting traditional double eyelid surgery because double eyelid surgery takes up the excess hooding on the upper eyelid. Therefore, if there was excess skin that’s covering a significant portion of the color aspect of the eye that is being shown then after the double eyelid surgery one would think that his eyes have gotten bigger since that excess hooding skin has gone up. However, in order to truly get an eye enlargement, one would need a vertical as well as horizontal eye enlargement. Vertical eye enlargement can be done through a ptosis repair, which in Korea, is also known as adjustment of the vertical height of the iris shown. You can also benefit from lateral eye enlargement, which entails epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty. Epicanthoplasty for Asian eyelids is opening the inner side of the eye while lateral canthoplasty is opening the outer side of the eye. When you combine them both, in your case, you can enlarge your eyes. This is how a lot of the Korean actresses and K-Pop celebrities attain much larger eyes relative to others.
According to the picture, it seems like you have eyelid ptosis. A brow lift will not help and a lateral canthoplasty will not help. Your condition will be corrected by performing a ptosis repair, and by also doing double eyelid surgery to compensate for the slight excess skin that’s hooding. You do not have heavy brow and your hollowness of the lids is very characteristic for patients with eyelid ptosis. Another thing is that lateral canthoplasty is not a good option because it should only be performed to widen the eye. In essence, lateral canthoplasty is effective in showing more of the lateral aspect of the eye. If you look at your picture, there is already more of the white aspect of the eye that is showing on the outer side relative to the medial side. So if you do get lateral canthoplasty, then you would look way too out of proportion. Also, just keep in mind that lateral canthoplasty does not correct the hooding of the eyelid on the outer side. That is not what lateral canthoplasty does. I recommend you to see an Asian eyelid surgery specialist and also somebody who specializes in eyelid ptosis.
