Hi guys, I have never done a blog thingy before so just bear with me. Ok so, I have 5 big tattoos I want gone. I understand it's going to be a slow process but I'm up for it! I have a full b&g sleeve, some letting on the top half of my stomach, a big coloured Lego men on my left thigh, cat woman on my right thigh and Jessica rabbit on the back of my knee ditch going down on to my calf (that tattoo was ouchies to get! Lol). People are asking why I'm getting rid of them, well, there is a story behind it but I will keep that quiet for the time being due to me not wanting to cop backlash! Lol On my sleeve, I have had 2 sessions on the top half of my arm and 3 sessions on my lower arm. My stomach has had 2 sessions and that session is so damn painful =( I can't sit through all the other sessions and it doesn't bother me, my stomach buckles me! Lol The Lego man has had 1 session but only on the outline, cat woman has had 1 session, the same as Jessica rabbit. I have only had Q-switched laser so far but I'm now going to move on to Picosure as I feel (well, I'm hoping) it has better results on my tattoos than what I have been getting. I will be getting my 1st Picosure session done in about 2 weeks time and the Lego men will get roasted 1st lol I will post pics of it once it's been done. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Also, if anyone has any helpful tips or even just encourage words, don't be shy to comment those too. Oh, I'm from Australia #straya Much love guys x Updated on 3 Jan 2016: Today I had my 1st session of Picosure on my Lego men tattoo. I could see a big difference straight away! It made the green turn to yellow and the blue had significantly faded at treatment time. I'm excited to watch this tattoo fade over time and as I have more sessions done. I go back in 6-8 weeks for my next session. I have only had Q-Switched laser on my tattoos so far and the Picosure is a lot more easier on the skin, it takes a little bit longer but it's definitely not a 'burn' or a 'pain'. I sat there for the whole session without any breaks (roughly took 20 minutes) and had no problems at all. I could barely even feel it at times! Any questions, comments or helpful hints, be sure to leave them below =)
Hi, I wanted to share my experience with having my tattoos removed as I have wanted to do this for the last 5-10 years, but I have never trusted anyone to remove tattoos from my body and the technology was not where it is now with removal and scaring. I have two tattoos that are both about 17 years old one on my chest and the other on my shoulder blade and I’m getting them both removed during the same session ( double pain). I picked PICOSURE to remove my tatt's as this seems to be the best technology on the market, that removes them quicker and less scaring issues. I researched lots of places in Sydney as they seem to be opening up everywhere at the moment. I recently read about Dr Pico Tattoo Removal who opened up in Darlinghurst, Sydney and Dr Keith Kolodzej is doing the treatments. I thought too myself If I was going to get a tattoo removed having a Doctor do it was the best way to have it done in my mind and after meeting with him I decided to get both of them removed once and for all. I've added some photos of before and I will do after the first treatment soon. Keen to see how the treatments go as I have so many colours. Will keep you posted throughout my treatments. Updated on 1 Jun 2015: Updated on 6 Jun 2015: My first treatment went better than i expected. The cooling air really helps when they are using the lasers on you.. The shrooms on the front have not changed in colour much, but the man on my back shoulder has changed a little and i can see he will be the first to go.. The drive home was so hard as my seatbelt was rubbing on the front tattoo and the seat on the back one as I'm getting both done in the same session. Dr Kolodzej provided me with gauzes, tape and vaseline to take home for after care. I'm glad I have taken the first steps to removing the tattoos Updated on 8 Jun 2015: Wow how painful was the 2nd treatment ?.. I really noticed the difference and I'm not sure if it was the adrenaline of getting the tattoo that masked some of the pain in the 1st round, but the 2nd one was more painful which is strange reading many reviews people have less pain. Dr Keith Kolodzej was great once I told him it was hurting he turned up the cold air and he also got an ice pack from the freezer and placed it on the tattoo area for 2-3 minutes, oh boy that made a big difference. I can recommend that if you feel pain get an icepack on your tattoo 2-3 minutes before you laser it and it will help so much. Overall it was a great session, the back tattoo is fading less than the front one, but I'm happy with both as it just takes time with tattoo removal and I'm in for the long haul. I will put some more pictures up in the next week or so if it fades more as I have read it will continue to fade and I hope to get back in the chair 7-8 weeks after this treatment as it's meant to give better results if you leave it for a bit longer.. ( keen to get other peoples feedback on this ) Happy tattoo removal..
Think it's time I shared my story after a year and a half of treatment. Got my tattoo about 10 years ago… I don't really 'regret' it, it was fun to have in my 20s, but I was never completely happy with it, the middle was done first and then after deciding it was too small I had the edges added later… Last year decided it's time to try to remove it. I was realistic about how long it would take and have usually left 8-12 weeks between treatments. Started last year in May 2013 receiving treatment with a Q-switched laser… I was really impressed how much it faded after the first session (which in hindsight wasn't much) but it seemed to fade less and less each time… In total I received 8 treatments with the q-switched laser…. from the fifth to the eighth it didn't seem to fade at all... Despite trying to be careful I have a couple of small scars from scabs that were knocked after a shower. At one point I was told I seemed to have "resistant ink" and despite knowing at the beginning that the estimate of 8-10 treatments was likely a low ball, was really starting to think it wasn't going to fade further. I'd been reading about the new picosure lasers since before I started treatment, and noticed a new clinic recently opened in Sydney, which is about 3-4 hours drive from where I live, so I drove up and was treated mid-October. Wow! This laser is amazing. The fading from one treatment with the picosure has been significantly better than the last three treatments with the q-switched. It is a big drive and more expensive but will definitely not go back to the Q-switched. People always ask if it hurts: to this I usually respond "ummm… it feels kinda like they're trying to cut my arm off with a laser"… but not with the picosure. Driving the three hours home wasn't a problem at all, whereas after treatment with the q-switched I couldn't wait to get home, lie down, and get some ice on it... It hurt heaps less and Keith (who treated me) went over it a couple of times with different settings. It didn't blister and therefore I didn't get any new scars. Due to the differences between the middle and outsides of my tattoo (i.e. inks, tattooist, number of times they went over it etc), the outsides have faded much faster than the middle part. It's interesting that they say every person responds to the laser differently - the different parts of mine has reacted so differently! Before being treated with the picosure I was thinking I could totally live with how much the outsides have faded and just wanted the middle to fade more, but now I'm thinking I could get total clearance. I'm not saying there's no value to the q-switched, it did fade my tattoo significantly to the point where you can't really see the front in a group photo, but the picosure has exceeded my expectations after only one treatment. I'm gonna wait til January for my second picosure treatment as it still seems to be fading, plus December is insanely busy! The review below is based on the picosure clinic I was treated at as this review is going in the picosure area. Thanks for reading! Happy to answer any questions people have :)
