I had a breast reduction yesterday and Dr. Aycock and her team made she I was comfortable the whole time before surgery. I got a little anxious and my nervousness kicked in but they made sure to assure my family and I that everything was going to go smoothly. They played music for me before I went under and updated my family frequently. I can’t wait for my gauze pads to come out so I can see the full result! I appreciate Dr. Aycock and her team so much!

I was deflated and looked to restore lost volume! Im 5'3" and athletic, 112 lbs. went with 260 C C high profile as my BWD was 10.5-11. I also had an umbilical hernia repair done the same day. Went with Natrelle classic as they were softer than inspira. Currently measure 29" under the breast and 33" at bust line. Presurgery bust was 30".

No pain meds last night! Still pretty tight in my pectoralis area and implants are still high, but so far I'm liking the result! I did 260 cc, could have probably gone up to 300 cc but am overall happy with the size!!!

Can still fit in my small Victoria's Secret swim suits yet FILL THEM OUT!!! I don't think they look super obviously fake? What do ya'll think?? ????

It is been just over a week and there are more moments of the day where I've completely forgotten about my new implants! I'm still excited for them to settle a bit as they still ride high. But not nearly as much pain as in the early days following surgery. Umbilical hernia repair also seems to be improving I'm looking less bloated every day

Scars weren't nearly as bad as I expected! Smaller than I thought. Slept on my stomach last night! Felt weird getting up from that position :)

I'm loving the results. Sometimes wish I was bigger but just a tad. Not sure if they will look different in upcoming weeks. I can still fit into small bathing suit tops!

Now that the swelling is gone I'm still super happy but wish I did go closer to 300 HP as I did 260. Perhaps a tad more fullness? But it's been 5 weeks so maybe some fluffing to happen still. I've purchased 1 bra that's 34C, too big in the strap, though. Guessing a 32C or 32D is my "real size" now!

Cleared to start swimming! Freestyle felt so weird when I tried last week! Will take time! Scars are red still but I'm using some cream to help lighten them! They look like a nice shape in clothes yet don't overwhelm my figure. Most all things still fit I just fill them out more :)

My pre BA sports tops still fit for the most part. I was worried about high profile, but the diameter is small enough they don't extend above the bra excessively. Here's some pics!

I've had a few questions regarding how I look in a sports bra and regular clothes. I definitely have a nice shape but my implants are still relatively small and although I was fitted as a 30 2D at Victoria's Secret I do not consider myself a D! I have only told about five people about my breast augmentation and even some of my best friends couldn't even tell that I had done it since I have worn padded bras for years :-) since the diameter was only 10.5 cm which was on the conservative with end of my breast size they don't extend above most sports bras so unless I'm bent over I don't have crazy cleavage or anything! I have tried on a few dresses and will try to upload photos, these are dresses that I honestly couldn't pull off what so ever before my breast augmentation because I was so flat chested. Without a brawl wearing cute silky dresses I still don't like large chested and they fit my size perfectly. I truly believe that most anyone can get 200 mL to 300 mL implants and look natural! I was most concerned with doing the high profile implants as I was really worried they would look to fake. Honestly they just look nice and perky :-) I'm going to follow up with real self because despite deleting and reinstalling the app I cannot get any new pictures to upload whatsoever. But I'm here to say if you're worried about them being excessively huge and they're in the 200 cc range I truly think everything will be just perfect for you and you may even wish you were on the larger side because I do feel I could've gone to the 300 range

Some folks commented on how helpful it can be to see full body shot. Here’s a couple. I’m 5’3” 115 lbs now :)

Dr Aycock was really great during the initial consultation and also during the procedure. She has a friendly, calm and unhurried bedside manner and explained everything. She offered her opinion on the pros and cons of the revision procedure (I had previously undergone removal of skin lesion by another medical specialty and had been left with a partially retained suture and a large scar). We discussed alternatives to revision surgery before deciding to go ahead with it. The end result has been better than I had expected. The large, thick, red scar from before is now a faint, thin line. She took the time to explain post-procedural care including the benefit of silicone gels/sheets for wound healing. I wouldn't hesistate to recommend Dr Aycock.

I am a healthy 61 years old, 5’3” 123 lbs. women with a 34DDD+ bra size. My frame is small so it is hard to carry such large breast. Over the last 40 years this has caused back pain, shoulder indentations, and my back is getting curved.

Most people don’t realize how big my breasts are. I am an expert on minimizer, sports bras and how to dress so my breast would not show off.

I’ve always been and still am physically active but stopped jogging 15 years ago when my breast grew from 34D to 34DDD+. The pain made it painful to jog even when wearing two sports bras.

My fear is that as I get older my breasts are going to get even larger and my level of physical activity is going to decrease and the pain and curving of my back will increase and affect my overall health and quality of life.

For years my doctors and physical therapist recommended surgery but the insurance company would not pay for it. Finally this year surgery was approved. I am very happy about it but also a little nervous. I’ve never had any surgery and anesthesia really scares me.

This morning I had my pre-op meeting. My surgeon explained things clearly and answered my numerous questions. She asked me what size I would like them to be and I responded a 34C. She did not commit to a cup size, but she said my breast would be reduced to half their size.

My surgery is scheduled for February 19th. I am a little nervous but looking forward to not having back aches and great summer tops.

Thanks to everybody! One day post-op feeling a little tired but well.
Las night I had back pain from being in my back during the 4 hour surgery.
The pain is minimal and I am resting a lot. They send me with a JOBST Surgical vest which is good because the band is way below the incision.

I am still doing really well with only minor discomfort. I have taken minimal pain killers. The girls are so hard. I hope I continue with minimal pain. I am sleeping a lot.

Third day: I went for a short walk with my husband and later he drove me to the public library to get a book.
Did not sleep much. The pain is almost nonexistent, just soreness. Have not taken Percocet today or yesterday. I also showered with my husband’s help. The tapes are intact and I have some bruising. I like the shape and perkiness of my new boobs. I don’t have tubes and everything looks fine. I think my doctor did a really good job.
Took some ibuprofen (200mg) in the afternoon and then at night another. I’ve been knitting which is relaxing.

Fourth Day: I am still feeling pretty good but today maybe a little more tired.
I did empty and loaded the dishwasher and did minor things around the house. Took a morning nap for two hours and then took a shower with no help.
No painkillers today. I am nicely surprised since I expected more pain. I hope everything keeps going this well. I am posting pictures before and 4 days after the surgery.

It's been a week since my BR. The pain has been minimal. I did used 2 pecocets the first day and I am getting by with 1 or 2 Ibuprofen (200mg) a day. My energy level is not great but I am feeling good.
Resting is important.

Yesterday I went to my 1st post-op appointment. The surgery was real successful and almost everything looks ok except for a little opening in the area where the surgical cuts intersect. Doc recommended an antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.

They took 457 grams from my left and 357 grams from my right breast.

I am really happy with the results of the BR. I ‘ve been almost pain free just a little sore. I expected more pain.

The negative news: the pathology report came with “a small focus of atypical lobular hyperplasia (ALH)”. The doc said I should not be worried but I should follow up on this.

My mammogram was Ok because the spot with ALH was very small. Has anybody had ALH?
I am a little confused and just starting the research about ALH.

I am 3 weeks post-op! Yesterday I went to the 2nd post-op exam. My PS thought everything was going really well and she took the tapes off. Everything is evolving, as it should. During the day I am usually Ok but at night I feel swollen and with minor pain. Last night and today I have been feeling itchy. Could this be due to the removal of the tapes? Spicy food I ate last night? Or normal healing process?

She recommended that I use silicone gel (Kelocote) instead of silicon tapes. She said silicon gel is easier to use than the tape. Has anybody used Kelocote silicon lotion? I’ve never heard of it before but I ordered from Amazon last night. I also bought Bio-oil.

I am looking forward to the summer. I hope that now with my lovely new small boobs I can get a really nice summer dress that fits!

It has been 5 weeks since my BR. Thanks to all of you ladies for your posts. I don’t know what I would have done without you.

I am very happy about my BR. I have not had any back or shoulder pain. Gone are the days of strap indentations in my shoulders.

Things are going much better. My energy level is still not 100% back, but higher than they have been in the 5 previous weeks. I force my self to rest and to listen to my body, which is not an easy task for me.

After my PS took the tapes (3 weeks post) the itching started right away but stopped after taking over the counter allergy pill( Benadryl) as peediewife suggested. Finally I can sleep for some hours in both my sides. I still feel very tight along the horizontal incisions below my breast, I have bumps over the stiches. I think the scars under my breast will need a lot more time to heal. I am hoping that once the stiches dissolve these bumps will be smoother and won’t open up. My lateral incisions are healing faster. I am using Kelo-cote, which is a silicone gel, over the scars and Bio-oil around them.

The first week after surgery I used only a Jobst surgical bra, this is the bra I was sent home from the hospital. The Jobst surgical bra was great right after surgery and at night because the band is soft, wide and seats a couple of inches below the incisions. After the second week I started using a Marena 2” bra during the day The Marena bras offer more support but is not as soft as the Jobst which I still wear at night. I have yet to go bra shopping so I really don’t know what size I am. I think I will wait a couple of weeks.

I don’t know if I am swollen during the day. In the evenings I do feel swollen and tight around my breast. I think my breast have not come down yet.

It’s been 8 weeks since my breast reduction. Although recovery has not been perfect things have improved a lot during the last 4 weeks. My breast are not swollen, the itching disappeared. I don’t think the stiches have dissolved yet. I have been almost pain free, except for two days last week (week 7th) when my left breast hurt for 2 days. I don’t know why this happened but the pain disappeared as quickly as it came.

Energy: My energy level is good. I am back to all my regular activities and started to exercise. I walk, take long hikes and yesterday I went to my first Jazzercise class.

Scars: They are are getting better with some help from Kel-Cote (silicone gel) and Bio Oil.

Size: I don’t know what size I am right now. Before BR I was wearing 34DDD bra which was really way to small for me. My guess is that I am between 34C and 34D. Before I was 38” (97cm) and now I am 34”1/2 (88cm) around the fullest part of my breast, so I am a lot smaller.

Pain: Practically gone

Things that helped :

- Resting
- Wearing a wireless supportive bra 24/7.
- Allergy medication for itching.
- Bromelain for swelling.

Things are so much better than before BR. My back does not hurt and I am much smaller regardless of cup size. I am very happy with my BR. Only regret not having done it earlier.

Just had a breast reduction this past thursday and the recovery thus far has been pleasant. Although I'm still bandaged up, I'm very happy with what I can see. I'm 23 5'4 140lbs and had 34ddd!!! Not sure what size I am now, but I over heard one of the nurses say a small c. Wish I had done this years ago. My level of physical comfort and self-confidence has skyrocketed.

It's been a year and five months since my surgery. And in that time I've been able to COMFORTABLY shop and Victoria's Secret (I'm now a 34 C), run a half-marathon, drastically increase my physical fitness and health (I'm now a certified personal trainer) and wear tops and dresses I never would have dreamt of wearing before. The scarring is definitely not something I like, but I'd take a little scarring over years of pain and other health problems any day. I've read of many women say that didn't regret their surgery until after giving birth to their children and trying to breast feed. I've yet to have children, so the jury is still out on that one.

do not recommend Joyce Aycock as a surgeon. I went to her for a reduction, wanting to go from a 32E to a C, she said this was attainable, but she only reduced me to a DD. I still wear the same bras i did before surgery.. Her post op paper work showed she was targeting the wrong size (a D). She admitted that she failed to understand my size goals, even though I brought in pictures, a bra in my desired size, and told her the amount of reduction I was expecting. She offered poor options for revision, even though this was fully her mistake, which she admitted. Don't walk from her, run.

This was a terrible experience to say the least. I recently had a consult appointment with Dr.Aycock for scar revision for a 5 month old trauma scar on my forehead. After waiting for a half an hour for her to enter the room she spends literally 3 minutes with me and says there's nothing at all that can be done to improve the appearance of this scar...Maybe I just look like an idiot? She gave me no options and treated me like I was unimportant, and even told me "maybe try to cover it with your hair", which she thought was cute or funny or something. So at this point I felt like straight up crying because this scar has really been adding to my self esteem issues and I'm here, and this doctor is just joking around with something that I'm serious about. Then, maybe out of just feeling bad about what she said she gives me the option of an injection that may flatten the scar some, but that it probably won't do anything, and may make it worse...(By the way i've spent months researching options and have literally watched a video of a doc doing a laser scar revision of a lady just as dark as me, same scar, same spot, so I know she's not being real with me..why, i have no idea) So now she tells me "oh yeah go home and think about it and call the office back if you want to go ahead with an injection". Not gonna lie, after that visit I started emailing and calling other clinics asap. Unfortunately It was impossible to get booked for anything sooner than 3 months out basically anywhere. I call the office and ask to get scheduled for the injection. The lady tells me alright we just need to verify that your insurance will work (either way i was willing to pay whatever and I expressed this to them). She tells me she'll be calling me back later that day. I didn't get a call, so i follow up the next day, only to be told "it could take weeks i don't know". She sounded so unprofessional it was nuts. Thank God I was able to get an appointment at another clinic this month due to a cancellation! Hey Dr.Aycock I just want you to know that scar on my head has made me uncomfortable to show my face and I cry about it often. It may not be a big deal to you but it is to me. Being someone who deals with others insecurities I just expected to be treated with respect and concern. Maybe she'll read this and treat that next kid that comes into her office a little better.
