I have had 3 ProFractional laser treatments at Dermatology Associates of Rochester with Dr. Weitz. He and the staff are very results-driven and determined to help me achieve my goals for my skin. So far my overall experience has been phenomenal and my results are amazing! I have severe pitted acne scarring on my temples, and from my very first meeting with Dr. Weitz and his team I felt heard, comfortable, and optimistic about achieving improvement to the appearance of my scarring and overall skin tone & texture. The office itself is beautiful, the staff are personable and respectful, and I love the vibe in their Center for Anti-Aging - it's very luxurious, but down-to-earth at the same time (the perfect mix for this millennial mom!) They have various things available for patient comfort - I choose facial numbing cream prior to laser. This adds some time to the length of my appointment (about an hour to numb before the laser treatment actually starts), but while my face numbs I get to enjoy a comfortable lounge with plush leather recliners, fluffy blankets, a big screen with Netflix, and free wifi - so I don't mind that little "me time" ONE BIT! The ProFractional laser treatment itself is very tolerable, and very quick. I have my entire face lasered (and have even combined this treatment with BBL and Halo to knock everything out at once - the pain is still tolerable!) Dr. Weitz is efficient and thorough with his treatments, and throughout the treatment checks in often to make sure I'm tolerating any discomfort. To be clear - it certainly doesn't feel good. BUT the treatment time is short, and the discomfort is a very small price to pay for the abundant positive results I've seen from having the laser. Following the treatment the after-care instructions are clear (and the before-treatment instructions too - the staff does a great & thorough job to make sure I'm aware of what I can and can't do before and after the treatment!). The recovery from ProFractional treatment is not too bad - the first 12-24 hours are the worst for me with some oozing skin, swelling, scabbing, tons of redness. No pain - just a scary-looking face for about 48 hours! By day 3 my face is just red and spotty as it heals, and by the fourth or fifth day the swelling is usually totally gone and my face gets really itchy as the old skin finishes sloughing off and the new skin surfaces. If I need to I use a special moisturizer make-up they have that's designed to mask post-treatment skin. By 7-10 days after the treatment I sometimes still have some redness, but it just looks like I'm sun kissed and I'm usually back to wearing regular tinted sunscreen and normal makeup. I'm in the middle of my overall treatment plan, and looking forward to continuing on my laser journey! I would do this treatment again and again and again - I do not regret for one single second getting the ProFractional, or embarking on a big-picture treatment plan to achieve my skin goals.
When I first thought about getting my tattoo removed I had a couple concerns: 1. Cost 2. Will I get full the results I want 3. Pain. After speaking with Dr. Josh and Ashley for over a half hour, I came to this conclusion - the cost is worth being free from my ugly tattoo that I dread having to look at in pictures and/or in the mirror. Dr. Josh also assured me that I will get the results I wanted - they wouldn't stop until I was content. For the pain, they walked me through how that process worked and they will numb the entire area to reduce pain to a very minimum. I was fully onboard after my consultation and set up my first appointment for a couple days later - they were also flexible with scheduling. After my first treatment I can attest that it is NOT painful (my tattoo is on my back shoulder blade). Personally, I think getting a tattoo is more painful that removing it - especially if you going to the right people. I am looking forward to my next visit in 6 weeks and especially the end result.
I have had several removal sessions over the past 2 years. The first year was with a different doctor who used and laser that was not nearly as effective as this laser. This added a lot of time and money to my producers. Every since switching doctors and lasers, the amount of session to see an actual difference has been cut in half or more. I am very pleased with the results I have see over the past year and would highly recommend this to someone who is unhappy with a tattoo on their skin.
My experience with Dr Weitz is he has terrible follow thru. I depended on him to keep his word on pricing for a surgery procedure. He increase the price from $3500 to $10000. Actions speak volumes. It defines what kind of business we run…. I was very disappointed and discouraged. Updated on 15 Jan 2022: I met with Dr Young over a year ago… I was told they are opening a surgery center in a few months. If I waited I would have almost no facility fee if any. Due to the newness of the surgery center. I received two quotes on different areas…One was a mini neck lift for $3500. The surgery center didn’t open for a year… The manager had no experience in this endeavor. I know this because he told me. About 7 months into the wait… instead of apologizing.. They had an assistant call me and tell me the cost is now $5750. I asked why, she really had no explanation. I ask to speak to Dr Weitz the owner/manager. He told me it was the facility fee. I explained what Dr Young said…and he said “We won’t screw you over”. A couple more months passed ( one year total) and finally I was called for my pre-surgery appointment. I went over the procedure with Dr young. He recommended that I can have the neck lift done by putting the scar down the front of my neck. He said men can cover it with beard.. When I said I would like it done the way a neck lift is done. Putting the scar around my ear .. so it’s not noticeable. Dr Young told me he needed to speak to the person who prices these procedures. He comes back and said it’s now $10,000. I sat there in shock after I waited a year, after I was told by the owner .. I would not be screwed over. I asked why is it now $6500 more than my quote. I was told that the facility center (Westfalls) they had been using before their surgery center opened, had big increases. Their center did as well. Dr Young leaves again and comes back and says that he now feels this cosmetic procedure was not for me. He asked if I would want a referral. I had never dealt with anything like this before..The way I was treated prompted me to write my first review… of anything… I also called Westfall Surgery center to ask about their year increase. They told me they had two increases over the year and for my surgery it would be an additional $300. So what they told me was not true.
Dear Jinx342, We love performing both BBL and Halo on non-facial areas for improvement of pigmentation/skin texture/skin quality/appearance and delaying/reversing signs of photo-aging. Our recommended approach is to have a series of both BBL and Halo to the neck/chest (decolleté). Once we've achieved desired results (usually 2-3 treatments in relatively close proximity), we recommend maintenance treatments to continue to improve skin quality over time (2 to 4 BBL per year and 1 Halo every 1 to 2 years, more frequent depending on patient goals). Also - don't forget the hands, we see phenomenal results with hand BBL and Halo. Best Regards,
Dear Sunitha, I'm sorry to hear that you feel you have not experienced a result with CoolSculpting. If you have not already, I would recommend going back to have a conversation with the treatment providers, express your concerns. In our experience (thousands of treatment cycles performed) we see true "non-response" in less than 1% of our patients. This means that we determined the individual was a good candidate with subcutaneous fat (not visceral fat), we performed a thorough assessment, discussed goals/objectives, they completed the recommended treatment course and number of sessions and in the absence of a significant weight gain, the before and after photos do not show signs of improvement. Although rare, it can occur. That being said, we also work closely with those patients to try and make things right. Ultimately, try to continue the conversation with the clinic, ask to speak with a doctor and/or the ownership. Look at the before and after photos with them and see whether or not they have recommendations on how to best move forward. Most clinicians, especially those who care deeply about getting great results for their patients, will be happy to sit and try to do what's best for the patient. Be sure to go for your photos, in our experience many patients do not 'see a result' until they see the photos. This has to do with the fact you see yourself in the mirror daily and it may not be as 'noticeable.' If your photos show no improvement and you are one of the individuals who is a true 'non-responder,' I would encourage you to find a reputable plastic surgeon and consider liposuction to address any areas of ongoing concern. I wish you luck in your journey. Best Regards,
