Dr. Boraski performed my breast reduction on 3/2/16 and I'm so pleased with the results even a year later. I was a 38G and now I'm a 38D. My recovery was smooth without any complications at all. I provided a before and after pic. The top pic in the black bra is after and the pink bra is before.
For over four years, I've been thinking of having a procedure that would help me feel better and get rid of my extra fat below my belly button. After researching and reading tons of stories on this site, I knew it was time to jump into gear and take some much-needed "Mommy" time for myself to finally address my body. I am a very ative person, but the fat below my belly just wouldn't go away; it's very much is inherited :-/, so I researched local Plastic Surgeons in my area and heard wonderful stories about the fabulous Dr. Boraski! Updated on 2 Jan 2016: I tend to want to be prepared for everything. So, undoubtedly this included my Panniculectomy. I went in thinking it was going to be like giving birth, which by any means is overwhelming enough, but I've given birth to eight beautiful children (ranging) from 5-16. THIS PROCEDURE IS NOTHING LIKE THAT --- JUST THINK, THEY GIVE YOU A MORPHINE BUTTON TO CONTROL THE PAIN!!! Helloooooo....LOL. I'm 12 days Post-Op and what started out as a blissful eexperience, is starting to show A LOT OF PROMISE. Everyone is correct when they say the first week or two is the roughest --- SO TRUE! You will need support to help you in and out of bed, and some days going to the restroom may feel like an adventure. So be prepared for that! I packed three various bags: one for clothing (the weather in New Orleans can feel like Summer one day and Winter overnight), one for cosmetics (just in case I had some free time and wanted to make-up my face) and finally a miscellaneous bag with creams, magazines, gum, light snacks, sleep mask, cell phone, and Pou-Pourri (the next best thing to fine linens)! Needless to say, I over-packed, MAJORLY. The hospital provided everything necessary. Most of my time was spent on sleeping (yaaaaaah), so one travelling suitcase with the basics is all I really needed; all other things are seriously EXTRA BAGGAGE - pun intended. : -) I hope this helps and I wish you well on your journey!!!
I had a hernia repair, a tummy tuck with lipo and a Arm Lift on 5/31/13. The surgery went well. I had some pain that evening after the surgery, but nothing like I expected. With all three procedures, I was anticipating excruciating pain but that was not the case. There is some discomfort but everyday it gets better. I am taking it slow but doing a lot on my own. Dr. Boraski was a wonderful surgeon and has great bed side manners. My scars were very red and the areas were very swollen. I am happy I did it even without knowing the end results of my scars which was the biggest reason I had not done the procedure before now!! Updated on 5 Oct 2013: Arms are healing and the scar started to wide.

Tomorrow is the big day (WOW) I'm getting my tummy tuck down w/ lipo of the upper abdomen and flanks. I've wanted this every since I had my last daughter. I have 3 beautiful daughters but it took a toll on my abdomen. My last pregnancy I was 230lbs and lost the weight great. I had several medical issues that required surgery (hysterectomy, small intestine ahered too vaginal cuff doing the healing process so I had to have another surgery that required a c-section scar). I had to have a cut that looked as if I had a c-section although I had all vaginal births. After that I developed the awful pouch that wouldn't go away. It's extremely hard to lose the weight since I had a hysterectomy and all of my weight gain is in my mid section. I'm going with the same doctor that performed my breast reduction last March and I love him. I went from a 40G to a 38D. I have my recliner and my family is very supportive of my decision. I'm excited and anxious to be on the flat side tomorrow and worried about the recovery. I just had a mani, pedi and wax done (don't want in grown hair in the incision HAHA) wish me lion my real self family as the flat side comes tomorrow in NOLA. IM SO HAPPY and this site has helped me make the decisions and prepare for my journey to the flat side. I will update as much as possible and have plenty of pics. I loved looking at everyone else pics so I will do the same to give someone else the confidence they need to go down the flat side journey. Updated on 18 Apr 2017: Here is where my bed will be until I'm able to get in the bed. My bed is pretty high but I'm so happy to have this recliner to sleep in and helps me by raising completely up. I have a bathroom in my bedroom and the chair is about 15 feet away from the bathroom. Updated on 19 Apr 2017: I've only had an hour of sleep. I'm anxious and excited. I've showered and have all my blankets, meds filled, magazines in my recliner and several nightgowns that open to the front so I can be comfortable as possible. My hubby is still sleeping, I will get him up in a few minutes. We have to report to the hospital for 5:30am today. I live only 15 minutes away. Wish me luck as the flat side is near. I pray all goes well and I'll update as much as possible during my recovery. Flat side here I come!!!!!! Updated on 19 Apr 2017: Let me just say I feared the pain and being hunched over BUT I'm not. It's hours after my surgery and I'm standing straight up, walking (slowly not rushing) and able to use the restroom on my own. I only had pain meds once today. I opted to stay in the hospital for tonight just to be on the safe side. I only have one drain site and the nurse has dumped it three times already along with a pain pump stapled to my stomach. I really feel great, sitting up on the side of the bed and eating. I must say so far the process is going great and it's been only 12 hours since my surgery. I was able to see my stomach and I LOVE THE OUTCOME. Updated on 20 Apr 2017: Great morning my real self family. I'm going home today and excited to shower. I still have my drain in and it will be in for a week. Dr. Boraski just came in to express how happy he is with my ability to walk around so quickly. I finally had another pain pill about 12 hours after the first one due to stiffness while sleeping. My husband slept here with me to help easy of getting up out the bed but I really didn't need help at all. I promise to take it slow and not rush cause after all this is major surgery. I get to shower today once I make it home. Everyone here at West Jeff hospital was awesome as always with great bedside manners. Dr. Boraski has great bedside manners, funny and really gives you step by step instructions on what to do once you leave the hospital. Once I shower I'll post new pictures. I love how clean my incision is and very low. However my incision on the sides are very high (I didn't like it) but once he explained why it made PERFECT sense. Updated on 20 Apr 2017: Today is my 2nd day PO and I showered today. My skin feels as if I have wind burn in the area I had lipo. I'm very bruised in the location of the lipo. I got to see my entire body since the tummy tuck and it really looks GREAT. My incision and BB looks great. Here is a few before and agreed with no CG on after I showered Updated on 22 Apr 2017: Hi real self sisters, today marks 3 days since my TT w/ lipo of flanks and muscle repair. I'm doing great. I sleep often to try to repair my body. I had a BM twice on yesterday without any help from laxatives (I guess cause I'm trying not to take the pain meds). I don't regret my decision at all and extremely happy I had the procedure done. I'm very anxious to see my results once the swelling goes down but I know only time will help with that part and to be patient with the process. I'm still sleeping in my recliner and wish I could be in bed. I can sleep in the bed but I don't cause it sits to high. I have a wedge pillow from my breast reduction that will elevate me in an incline position if I needed to sleep in the bed. So far my recovery is going good and I continue to dump 40ml of fluid from my drain site about every 4 hours. I make sure to walk as much as possible very slowly to prevent blood clots. I will shower today alone for the first time and I will make sure to take pain meds for that. When I shower it takes a lot out of me and I go right to sleep after my husband lotion my body. I'll keep you updated and try to take more pictures today. On a bright side my Adore Me bathing suits just arrived and I will try them on weeks from now. My doctor told me not to try on any clothing at all lol. Updated on 5 May 2017: Hi my real self family. I haven't update since week one cause my daughter is graduating from high school. Her prom was on th 29th of April, so I been focus on her and making sure her last year in high school is perfect. So, I'm 2 weeks post up and the pain has gotten better. I no longer need pain meds and tried not to take them in week one. Into my progress about a week and a half my navel begin to bleed. I contact my doctor and he informed me it was normal. I had water proof tape placed over my navel but I could see something was wrong. I took the tape off my navel and almost passed out from the site. My navel wasn't healing correctly and you could see the fatty tissue in my navel. I contacted my PS again and after speaking to him, he informed me to come see him at 5:30am in the morning at the hospital (he was in surgery all day but didn't want to put it off). I went in and he assured me my navel wasn't infected. I had several surgeries before my tummy tuck (partial hysterectomy-March 2015 through my navel, I had another surgery through my navel June 2015 cause of the scar tissue grew on my small intestines and connected my small intestines to my vaginal cuff and finally I had to have a total hysterectomy August 2016 due to cyst on my ovaries and fluid in my fallipon tubes). All the past surgeries made my navel full of scar tissue. After the surgery when he came to visit me in the hospital that night he told me I may lose some of my navel from the scar tissue from previous surgeries but he was ready and prepared for what may take place. So in the end I did lose some of the tissue causing my navel to not heal correctly and I have a hole where my navel should be. I been cleaning it twice a day and placing bactin in the navel. It's healing but very slowly. I'm on antibiotics also that I take twice a day to ward off any infection that may hinder my progress further. So other than my navel issue my progress is going as planned.
