I reached a point where I had to keep my eyebrows raised all the time to improve my field of vision. I am thrilled with the results! The procedure was explained thoroughly to me beforehand and I received excellent care afterwards and phone calls from Dr. Fezza and staff to check up on me. Very little discomfort too.
My lids had dropped over the years and was affecting my eye sight, also causing dry eye issues. Went to Dr Fezza who was referred to me by my optomologist. Since the moment i walked in the door I was treated kindness, and respect . Everyone I encountered was always courteous and helpful. My needs were put first at all times, i never felt rushed, or that i was a burden.
I remember about a year ago, getting my new driver's license picture and seeing this double chin. I naturally blamed the new cameras at the DMV office, but as time went by, I kept thinking that I looked more like my mother than I looked like me. The procedures that I opted for were a lower face lift, upper and lower eyes, double chin removal and some botox the entire process was totally painless. Never took a pain pill. I am extremely glad I had the surgury. Looking more vibrant and youthful and I am not even healed all the way yet. I am so glad that I had the procedure and would recommend to everyone who cares what they look like.
Horrible. I went in because I was getting a rash around both eyes. Tiny little bflesh colored bumps. Very obvious. He said, "I don't see any bumps. If you really want to improve your looks.p, you need to get a face lift. Talk to my surgical coordinator." He wanted $13,000. Um.....I went in for a dermatological problem that you IGNORED, and you told me I needed a full face lift. Really? Did you even listen to me? And then to say you could not see any bumps around my face. Very rude. AND he had the nerve to charge me an office visit. Not a free consultation. What an unprofessional physician. I would not go to him for ANYTHNG.
I had an eyelid surgery in June 2018 performed by Dr. Fezza in Center for Eyes office in Sarasota. The surgery went well and pre-surgery procedures with Dr.Fezza and his staff were smooth. The problem appeared two months after the surgery. When all swelling around eyes finally went away, I noticed that my left eye is less open than right eye. While on right eye the pupil was completely open, on left eye the pupil is only half open. I had a new encounter with Dr.Fezza, who initially was very nice and said that he sees the problem and it can be corrected by another surgery on the left eye. I was not happy about it, but it was understandable. But then, to my surprise, Dr.Fezza said, that we need to get a new approval from the insurance company. In other words, this will be a completely new surgery fully paid by insurance company. I think, it is unfair. Dr. Fezza made a cosmetic surgery, where, per my opinion, miscalculated how much tissue has to be removed from each eye. Now, in order to fix it, he wants to get fully paid for another surgery. When I expressed my opinion to him during the visit, Dr. Fezza became very unprofessional and quickly left room saying that this is the way they do business here. I suggest, you should ask question to Dr.Fezza - if after surgery something is not right, will it be fixed? If Dr.Fezza is a good doctor confident in his professional work, the answer should be "yes". If he answer is "no", it means that a large percent of surgeries is not successful, whatever you read in newspapers and on the Internet. Updated on 10 Oct 2018: I was charged $2.307 on the day right before the surgery. As I understand now, it is not a correct practice. At the time of office visit, they should charge only copay amount, e.g. $50. Then, after the service is complete, the medical office sends claim to the insurance company. The insurance company sends to you "explanation of benefits", which states how much insurance company paid and what is the patient responsibility. So, when I received "explanation of benefits" few weeks later, I found that my responsibility should be only $1,620. Thus, I was overcharged $687. I will call billing office and post update. My advice - do not pay at the day Dr.Fezza at the day of visit, because, as it appears, they are not honest practice.
As long as everything was going well the doctor was very nice once the problem became apparent with my left eye and seemingly no solution doctor became defensive and unprofessional in addition abusive claiming that since the insurance company paid for the surgery I had no reason to complain even though I cannot see properly now and the optometrist cannot even correct my vision to its previous state the best corrective vision I am getting 4 months post-surgery is 2070. I am not blaming the surgeon for this however I do want to try to find out what the problem is so I am seeing various specialist to get to the root of it his office refuses to make an appointment for me have evaded me on three occasions and not return my calls to make an appointment. I would certainly not recommend him as a doctor to have surgery with period problems happen but when they do I would expect a surgeon to discuss the issues to try to help the person resolve the problem not be nasty walk away or refuse to see them this is not how a mature adult behaves, and certainly not how a doctor should be treating a patient.
It i a final coundown! I am scheduled for a lip lift surgery on Tuesday, August 18th - very excited, but also a bit concerned if the results will be noticeable enough. I am 66 and I was always dreaming about a raised upper lip, i wish that I knew earlier that there is a surgery for this. The distance between the bottom of my nose and top of my cupid bow is 17 mm, my doctor said that he will remove 5 mm. I am a bit worried that this might be not enough. Because I know that soon after surgery, the lip will fall down a bit. But then again, I would rather have removed too little skin than too much. I had several botox procedures done, raising my upper lift, with slightly visible improvement, but hope that the surgery will give me more dramatic results. Will keep you posted about my pre and post surgery. I am posting a few "before" pictures. Your suggestions and comments will be highly appreciated! Updated on 18 Aug 2015: Had my surgery done today, siz hours ago or so, everything went great and I am very VERY pleased with results. And I must thank this website and all participants for sharing your stories. I noticed quite frequently expressed, that 5 mm lift is not noticeable - some even said not worth the cost and pain and the trouble, and I rralized that this would be the case with me. I know my doctor is rather conservative and his surgery makes you look better but no one knows why. I decided to meet with him before the surgery and asked him to be more daring - basically asked him to remove as much as he can with concern if anyone will notice that I had it done, yet still not too much, so that it looks natural. He promised that he will do it. And he did - he said he removed 8 mm. I am so glad I pushed for it, because I can see now that 5mm would not make me happy! Full report: I was scheduled to arrive at the Center For Sight at 11 am - no food after midnight, no drink, not even water after 9 am, by the time surgery started at 12:30 or so I was quite hungry. I was prepped by nurses on the hospital bed, getting ready for the IV. Getting hooked up to monitors, tons of questions about my medical surgery etc. - I was going to be IV-sedated, which means put to sleep, but breathing on my own. Asleep but without full anesthesia. Just before falling asleep I had a last little talk with doctor, who also numbed the area aroud my nose, but this I barely that. When I woke up, I was already seated in the chair, everything was over, my husband was already next to me - we were getting discharged. Pain was rather minimal - just kindy of a stingy feeling at the bottom of my nose, and numbness around. I had no dressing, no bandaides. But on the way home, about 20 minut drive, the pain become more prominent, but nothing horrendes. I took a prescribed pain killed at home, didn't help right away, but now, 5 hours later I feel no pain at all, just a bit sore. I was instructed to use ice pack every 20 minut for 20 minutes today and tomorrow and every few hours apply neosphorin to the wound. It was oozing some blood but very little, almost gone. Still a bit dripping now - on the left side, under my nostrill. So far zero bruising - hopefully it will stay this way! I am attaching some pictures from today - and a shot of me before the surgery; Updated on 19 Aug 2015: Today I woke up with my upper ip very very swollen - it looked like I robbed all Kardashian sisters lips and rolled them all into mine :) I took this picture at 12 noon, after some swelling went down. It was much bigger in the morning. Surprisingly still no bruising, although I slept normally in bed. I was told to sleep in the up position, in recliner, to avoid bruising, but at 2 am I just couldn't handle it any longer and went to bed. The incesion is healing very well, some barely there oozing. I see no infections or complications. No pain at all - just a little itching, butI know it is a sign of healing. I took only two pain killers yesterday - that's all! Updated on 20 Aug 2015: Today is two days after the surgery. No more pain, no itching, no oozing, it is healing evenly on both sides, I feel very lucky comparing with some other cases. I am still very swolen, so it is impossible to judge the final results - but I am almost certain that, with slightly open lips my teeth will not show. I was hoping it will show a bit, but I'm afraid, not. Which doesn't surprise me, becase I had rather long overhang there. Hope that more of my upper teeth will show while talking (a little bit was showing even before). Nevertheless, I am still very happy with results, I can see it will be a signiificant improvement in how I look! Updated on 20 Aug 2015: I'm sure the result will be more subtle, it will look differently after swelling goes away, but it is interesting to compare the before and after.... Updated on 22 Aug 2015: My upper lip still a bit swollen, incision is healing fast, no pain, just a bit itching but that's normal, as the would is healing. I still cannot move the upper lip, so I talk funny and when I try to laugh it hurts, which is difficult becaus enormally I laugh a lot :) I put on some make up today - avoiding the scar of course - here is how my lips look now, with a lipstick. I think it never looked better! Updated on 22 Aug 2015: Updated on 24 Aug 2015: The incision is healing so quickly and evenly that I can already tell there will be no visible scar. It is still a little red, but almost all scabs already fell off. I feel so lucky! Updated on 25 Aug 2015: I am so happy everything is healing fast! My upper lip doesn't feel swollen. But I think it is still a bit swollen, so it will get smaller, also it will most likely drop a bit. I am anxious to see what will be the final result, but for this I must wait a few weeks. One thing is sure, I am very glad that I had additional consult with my doctor prior to the surgety and asked him for removing more than 5 mm - I can see that 5 mm would not be enough for me. (he removed 8 mm) Updated on 26 Aug 2015: Today my stiches were removed and even though thee are still some scabs, I got official permission from the doctor to use makeup. Significantly less numbing around the incision, but my upper lip is still mostly immobilized, I can barely smile, it hurts when I try to laugh. My philtrum is now 11-12 mm - hopefully it will not drop too much more! Updated on 26 Aug 2015: I wonder how much down it will go - I liked my lips the most on the fourth day, today it looks still great, but if it will drop down more, I will begin to fill a bit disappointed... Updated on 27 Aug 2015: My philtrum dropped again - now is 13 mm. That means reduced by 4 mm. The difference between before and after is diminishing by the hour ;) So, I changed my official opinion above from "worth it" to "not sure" - and hope it stays that way. Sadly, I feel that it will end up with "not worth the cost and trouble" Updated on 28 Aug 2015: So, the lips are already about the same as before. I am sure thatat the end there will be no difference. But I still see significant difference in the length of the philtrum - it is visibly smaller now than before. BTW - NONE of my friends see now the difference :) Updated on 4 Sep 2015: Just a quick update. I am still not sure if this was worth the time, money and pain, but there is still a difference between before and after. When I smile and when I'm talking. I show more upper teeth, nothing huge, just a little more. Before only the bottom of my two front teeth showed up usually, the new normal is that now four of them show up a bit. The upper lip is still a bit bigger, the filtrum is a bit shorter, not very noticeable, but that's the game, right? Updated on 13 Sep 2015: It is almost four weeks and I must say I am happy with the result. My upper lip is significantly higher, my cupid bow is more prominent, and with make up my lips look smoking. Way better than before. A few pictures without make up - the redness propably from my touching too much, it is still healing and from time to time it is itching a lot. My filtrum is now 13 mm (4mm shorter than before). But now I am glad doctor didn't lift more, because the lip corners would have more noticeable drop. And the idea is to improve how the the entire face looks. Initially I asked for the corner lift, however my doctor advised my not to do it because those corners frequently leave visible scars. Now, when I read all reviews, here and elsewher, and see how many things can go wrong with any cosmetic surgery, I feel very fortunate. Updated on 19 Sep 2015: With make up... lip liner extends a bit on the sides of the upper lip, I made the liner darker to show. After all, now I love this new lip - it is a small subtle difference, but so much more can be done with make up! Updated on 19 Sep 2015: My philtrum is visibly smaller. Although the size of the lips didn't change much, the cupid bow is now better defined and more prominent - it gives me much more confidence in applying the lipstick.
You have early platysma muscle loosening , causing the start of neck bands, At age 39 a minilift should suffice to tighten these muscle and restore a cleaner jawline. Sometimes platysma corset sutures are also needed to firm up a lax neck.
Vertical banding of the neck is due to a lax platysma muscle. This muscle is tightened with a corset suture to reduce the bands and smooth the neck contour. the surgery can be combined with a facelift if needed.
A blepharoplasty can help to reduce bags. Using a hidden incision inside the eyelid the fat can be recontoured. You seem to have a tear trough groove, which is the deeper indent between your lid and nose. This area can be addressed by placing or sliding lid fat under the indent to smooth it. The result should be be smoother, more youthful lid.Filler can also be placed non surgically to the junction between the lid and cheek to soften this transition, but the results will not be as impressive as a surgery.
If the lower lid bags are a concern, then yes have surgery. You asked if there were alternatives in another question. Filler can be placed around the lids to soften the circles, but I believe you are best served by surgery. Lower lid blepharoplasty surgery takes about 20 minutes and healing is 10 days. it should be painless, but you will have bruising. The results typically last 10 years.
Lower lid surgery can be redone. As we age the lids change and may need some revisions after 7 years. tissue becomes slack and a re-freshener is not unreasonable. Secondary surgery can be more challenging, so picking an experienced surgeon is important.
