Dr. Chao believes a team approach to care results in the best outcomes, stating, “The patient always comes first. My staff and I are devoted to helping patients improve the way they look and feel, every step of the way."
The attentive care and concern this office has shown over the last seven years that I have been with them is remarkable. They always go above and beyond to make sure their patients are happy and pleased with the results of their treatments.
Dr. Chao was able to fix a number of deformities of my breasts left from a procedure I recently had done. Other doctors thought they wouldn’t be able to help me, but fortunately this was not beyond Dr. Chao’s ability. He exceeded my expectations and that rarely happens.
Over a year ago I started my journey to look for a Plastic surgeon. You see, I had lost almost 60 lbs, and there it was, this shelf of skin and fat that no diet or exercise could ever get rid of. I felt I owed it to myself to look into getting it removed. My sister-in-law recommended going to the Real Self website to find Plastic surgeons in my area. After searching for 5-star surgeons. I settled on 3. I made consultations with all three. By the time I had my 3rd consult, I finally had my AH-HA moment. Dr. Chao was going to be the perfect fit for me. Between his professionalism, personality, knowledge, and staff. I knew I was done looking. They were very patient with me. Due to this procedure, I knew everything was out of pocket. We settled on a date over a year away. Well, here we are a year later. I had my surgery a week ago. I'm not going to lie. It hurts like hell. Just keep taking your prescribed meds as needed and you will be fine. No pain no gain. I go in tomorrow to hopefully get my drains removed. I can't wait for that!!! I have before pictures that will be posted and I will follow up with after pictures. I really can't say enough about Dr. Chao, and Becky. As they said in the surgical center they are called the "Dynamic duo" !!! Updated on 26 Dec 2019: So after a week, I went in for my first appointment. Only one drain was removed. I was a bit bummed but understood the importance of doing things right. I'm not walking straight yet. At least I stopped using my mother's walker. ( It was a great help the first week!) A few more days and the second drain should be removed.
Dr. Chao deserves MORE than five stars. If I could give him 100 I would. My experience with Dr. Chao was beyond incredible. He truly listens to what your expectations are with care and concern. He along with Rebecca provide you with safe and realistic goals for a wonderful, lasting outcome. He met with me twice and was not in a hurry during these consultations. I brought in pictures of what I wanted my behind to look like and he was extremely helpful in suggesting what to do in order to get me there. I am a mother of two adult children and have been diagnosed with diastasis recti so I knew I would not have a completely flat stomach without revisiting the OR to have a tummy tuck. I had my three month check up with Dr. Chao and am very pleased with my results without the tummy tuck. It took me almost a year to decide which doctor to choose for my Lipo and BBL. I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that I selected Dr. Chao, it's the BEST decision I ever made. If anyone is contemplating on who in the Capital District to go to for GREAT results, professionalism and an all around feeling that you belong to a family.......DR. CHAO IS YOUR MAN!!!!
Dr. Chao is wonderful! I went to get a cyst removed from my finger. Becky is so nice and helpful! The office staff made all my followup visits for me while I was having my cyst removed. Very relaxing atmosphere.
I’ve been going to see Beckie for a couple years now and it’s the best cosmetic decision I’ve ever made. She does lip filler and Botox for me and is the best out there - so good that I drive 2 hours to see her every time! The rest of the staff is also always pleasant to see. Even Dr. Chao pops in to say hello!
Love Dr. Chao! He's very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he's doing. He listens to your concerns and never rushes you. He makes you feel super comfortable!! Always smiling and in a great mood. Ive been happy every time I come in here. I sent my sisters and mother and mother in law to him and everyone loves him equally! Also, love Beckie!! She's amazing!!!! They are VERY good at what they do and most importantly they listen to what YOU want. I would never go to anyone else but Dr Chao and his staff. Even the front receptionists are so sweet. When you call them they never rush you off the phone and don't get annoyed when you need to reschedule. They're super accommodating. LOVE!
The results are amazing! The procedure has improved my self confidence & I plan to continue seeing Beckie for future treatments. She has a great aesthetic eye, excellent technique and a wonderful bedside manner. I am extremely satisfied with my results and would highly recommend her and this practice!
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I’ve gotten multiple procedures done at Chao Plastic Surgery and the staff is professional, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I especially LOVE Becky. I would wait a year to get an appointment with her before considering another office. She is extremely smart and has a shining personality that would make my experience elsewhere dull. She’s very busy because she’s so great but is worth the wait. Becky spends time with me during my appointment and doesn’t just inject and leave as do other offices my friends have been to. I will hands down have my friends and family go to Dr. Chao and Becky for all their plastic surgery needs. I trust them and that is priceless!
Dr. Chao and all of his staff are wonderful. I spent over 18 months reviewing, meeting and researching plastic surgeons. After years of working in the medical field and for a local hospital, I understand the importance of thoroughly researching any medical professional from their education to current positions and anything that could possibly lurk in OIG files. Dr. Chao is the most educated, trained, practiced and highly regarded plastic surgeon in upstate New York. Harvard educated, head of reconstructive/plastic surgery for the region’s leading hospital, Albany Medical Center and voted Best Plastic Surgeon, his office stands alone at the top. Dr. Chao and Becky Herrica P.A. Are an unbelievable team whether it’s been injections (preformed by P.A. Herrica) or in office surgical procedures they preform together, I’ve been phenomenally happy with the results. I’ve been in their care for two years (and under their knives and needles), and expect to be a patient for many years to come. It’s worth mentioning that Dr. Chao and Becky Herrica have created a clinical environment that is warm, friendly, comfortable and never imposing or intimidating. In my multiple encounters with them both I’ve never walked in or out of that office feeling badly about myself, my looks or my body. At every turn they’ve been compassionate, gentle and focused on the best outcome for me as their patient not their financial bottom line. They have opted to go slow and methodical in order to achieve optimum results even when doing so was clearly not in their best interest time wise or financially. That is an unbeatable standard of care, rarely found in any discipline of medicine. I’ve turned down offers of heavily discounted services to try other providers/Doctors, I would never go anywhere else. When you’re making decisions about medical care, whether it’s internal or externally focused the team providing that care matters more than any other single factor. Education, technique, the newest trusted/better technology and patient care are synonymous with Dr. Chao, Becky Herrica PA and the rest of the staff. Never go anywhere else. #nomakeup #nofilters #yearsyounger #naturalbeauty(wink)
With liposuction of the neck, the skin will tighten somewhat depending on the patient. 3 weeks is not enough time to realize that tightening effect. In terms of when it would be appropriate to start Ultherapy, greater than 3 months from the liposuction would be the most ideal time period. Swelling from liposuction could last more than 3-6 months from the surgery, so the later the better. Of course, you should consult with your plastic surgeon, as he or she might have protocols which would allow for earlier treatment with Ultherapy after liposuction. Good luck!
The short answer is YES! At Chao Plastic Surgery, we include pre-op or post-op PRP for free because we want our results to be the best possible. Before surgery, PRP can make the recipient scalp healthier and prepare it for the grafts. After surgery, we use it like "fertilizer" to improve graft take, growth and graft quality.Though there are no definitive studies out there to prove that PRP works, my patients' results are my proof. In addition, females who are not candidates for hair transplantation who receive PRP often come back sooner and more frequently for PRP because they notice the results. They actually call us to ask for more PRP!
From the view you have provided, it appears that you will likely need an arm lift or brachioplasty. The amount of skin that you have, especially at the armpit, will need excision of skin with its resultant scar to provide a nice contour. It does not look like liposuction alone will provide you with a good enough appearance.
I have been referred more patients unhappy about a higher scar than a vertical scar. A higher scar seems to bother patients more than the vertical scar and to me, does not looks as aesthetically pleasing. I am glad your surgeon warned you of this as it should be discussed in any tummy tuck consultation. There are times when the original umbilical scar is not able to be removed or the abdominal contour can be improved by removing some excess tissue utilizing the vertical scar - sometimes all the way to the belly button! It most cases, however, the vertical component of the scar is only a few centimeters from the horizontal scar. Good luck!
Liposuction and tummy tuck can be done safely utilizing tumescent solution and IV medication. In fact, there is no reason a muscle repair couldn't be done as well. It is true that DVT and PE incidence is decreased as compared to general anesthesia. In your case, it would be beneficial to have pneumatic compression devices on your legs during the surgery for additional safety. You are pretty sedated during "tiva". You may "awaken" from time to time, but in most cases, you have no memory of the surgery.
