I saw Dr Klaushie for pelvic organ prolapse. Initial visit was for grade 3 rectocele, specifically. I’m am fairly young (38) to be experiencing the symptoms and issues I have been for years. I tried finding doctors in my area that could perform the surgery I needed and found Dr Klaushie. I couldn’t find any reviews. So I would like to leave one for her. For anyone going through this and questioning whether they should see her… you should see her. She is incredible. Personally, I decided to opt for surgery from the get go. I met with Dr Klaushie where she was able to diagnose my prolapse but wanted me to get a urodynamics test before putting together a treatment plan, in the event I was experiencing any other issues that were not readily apparent by a visual inspection. It took around 2 months for my urodynamics appointment, which went well. I was very pleased with the staff and the visit. The gal that I was scheduled with for that visit was lovely, knowledgeable and professional. I passed my urodynamics test with flying colors. Despite passing the test and “not needing” it, I’m very thankful that I took the test and that Dr Klaushie has her patients take it for good measure to ensure there isn’t something she cannot see or feel that could be wrong. A week later, I saw Dr Klaushie to go over the test results and treatment plan. I was scheduled for Anterior and Posterior Colporrahaphy a few weeks later. It was at four peaks surgery center. The staff and facility was amazing. They were all so helpful. Dr Klaushie was smiling and in such great spirits. It really put me at peace with my decision to get surgery, I knew I was in the very best hands and that I was going to get fixed up to the best of her ability. It also brought a smile to my face to know that she is doing something she loves to do, seeing her in her element. Surgery went amazing. No side effects from the anesthesia or anything! I left with a catheter for the next 24 hours and was scheduled to return back to the office, next day, for a void test to make sure my bladder had woken up and was functioning normally. If not, they would send me back home with the catheter. Thank goodness I passed the void test!! They took out the packing they had to place inside the canal, as well. I recovered very quickly. I didn’t have to take pain medication past 2 days and was up walking about by day 3. Driving by day 4. I felt great. I had a gel seat pad to sit on, a heat pad for my belly, durablast spray for pain, peribottle for cleaning and colace to ensure smooth bowel movements. My first bm didn’t come until around day 5, it was terrible and the pressure was very painful. Anyone who has ever had a vaginal birth knows this all too well. The first poop after giving birth is the worst. You are too afraid to push, it’s all swollen and it hurts. But nevertheless, the bm came and went. The others were much easier as time went on. I could tell the surgery was a success by day 2. I had gas and was able to pass it like a normal person!! You have no idea how amazing that feels! No trapped gas in the pocket, no twisting my body to and sitting in weird positions to help the gas release. I literally sat and farted I was so incredibly blown away at how fast I had recovered from such major surgery. I know it is because of the extensive knowledge and skill that Dr Klaushie possesses. I would say, the only thing I could have wanted more was more time with her during the appointments. She is such a busy lady. I really enjoy being able to build a patient/doctor relationship and feel like I am able to connect with the doctor. Dr Klaushie has been doing this a very long time and is in such high demand, I know she cannot offer the coddling I was desiring. Despite this, I felt very comfortable with her and wanted to continue with the surgery with her as my doctor and surgeon. I was next seen at week 7 and was cleared to return to all normal activities. I was hip thrusting 220lbs before surgery and was weight training, I was relieved to hear I was allowed to resume those activities but had to ease back into it. I am now writing this as I am 12 weeks post op. Everything is amazing. Not only did she fix my prolapse and I can poop and fart normally, but she tightened the canal up- it’s nice and snug but very functional. After two natural vaginal childbirths, I felt the entrance and the canal were wider. It was difficult to feel the friction during intercourse. I expressed to Dr Klaushie that I was hoping to end up with a smaller, tighter entrance and canal. She had said that, even though this is not what she does specifically, that the nature of the surgery itself will tighten things up. I feel so amazing and am so happy that I chose Dr Klaushie as my doctor and surgeon. I highly suggest and recommend her for anyone experiencing pelvic organ prolapse. Thank you Dr Klaushie
I have been to see Dr. Jennifer Klauschie 4 times total. My first visit she performed a urinalysis and a bladder scan "post void residual" before ever seeing me or assessing my symptoms. Although she appeared knowledgable and competent I felt uneasy when leaving her facility. I agreed to further testing, a cystoscopy and urodynamic testing, that her office was scheduling 2 more people for at the same time. I thought, that's weird, we all need the same test? I later canceled my test and did not return to see her. I tried to find a new doctor on my insurance plan but I was not successful and I was referred back to her again in July 2019. I went to see her again and was asked to leave a urine sample, I declined as I had no symptoms. After I saw her I felt so assured that she was the one for me, she was great and so confident, I really felt like she was going to fox all my problems. I was refusing all further testing but she insisted we do the urodynamics so I gave in and agreed. I was scheduled for a 10 am appointment and encouraged to show up with a comfortably full bladder. After holding my pee for over 2 hours and finally at 10:40 I asked how much longer it would be? They said my appointment wasn’t until 11am. At 11:30 I asked again, this time almost in tears due to a spasming bladder! I was taken back a few minutes later. I followed up for my results of my urodynamics where she stated I have stress incontinence (DUH) and that I was retaining urine, although she didn’t seem sure about that. When we met this time it was almost like she didn’t know who I was at all!!! I was so disappointed, she was unsure if I had any retained urine and I told her I have had 2 post void test performed and both show I had nothing but she insisted we do another. I gave in again. She then said they will schedule for surgery at Four Peaks Surgery Center because if we use a hospital it could take unto 4 hours just to get me prepped and a surgery center will be faster, then she left the room and never returned to talk to me about the post void residual she just insisted we do. I was moved out to the reception desk where she called the surgery center and put me on the phone, they stated they were out of network and it would cost me $2800.00 and when would I like to schedule, I said no thank you and requested we find a place that is in network. About 2 weeks later they called and scheduled me for JCL and a pre op appointment, another appointment? I received my bill for the July appointments and I discovered they billed me for procedures that were never performed!!! It does appear as they do a urinalysis and bladder scan on all patent every visit but they did not perform these on me because I refused. When I called they argued with me stating it was done!!! I said “lady, I never even pee’d in that office therefore a post void residual is impossible!” I had to call three way with my insurance representative to have her agree to look into those charges. I have since filed with the fraud waste and abuse website for this practice and I plan on submitting this review to the board of medical examiners too. The age group she sees is older and vulnerable to this practice as they might not look over there bill but just pay them and maybe they done understand you have the right to refuse these un necessary test. Needless to say I will not be returning to see Jennifer Klauschie or anyone from Academic Urology
Vaginal tightness is improved with non-surgical and surgical procedures. The first recommendation is to make sure that you are doing Kegals on a regular basis. Of course this isn't the "complete fix" for everyone, but there good reason to do these exercises since vaginal tightness is based on several components. The pelvis has a very strong muscular component that helps hold all organs in place and stabilizes the core. Then the ligament and connective tissue components also keep the organs in place and are present under the vaginal mucosa (vaginal skin) and make the tissue more or less tight or relaxed. Finally, within the mucosa (skin) itself, there is collagen and blood flow that helps to maintain the skin tightness. The laser treatments and the RF treatments (ThermiVA) will lead to a tightening of the mucosa (skin) layers and some of the more superficial connective tissues. To determine if the laxity is going to be best treated with these therapies or another treatment, a specialist in pelvic floor disorders can help determine what the best treatment for you.
