While anyone can evaluate their satisfaction with a single procedure, I realize that individual patients (and their bodies) contribute to the success or failure of any procedure. Given this, I find most reviews more about the specific procedure than the care from a provider and the office staff. I have been a periodic-ongoing patient since 2017. I have had several procedures, including traditional outpatient surgery and in-office procedures. The level of care has been consistently excellent, and I can say that when I or my body have not cooperated as I wanted, the surgeon and staff at this place have! Make your decision based on demonstrated prior expertise, an honest, caring consultation before any procedure, and the commitment to a genuine doctor-patient relationship. If you agree, I think you will find this a winning team! Implants, Liposuction, Scar Revision, Forehead/Lift
Dr James Fletcher and his team is were excellent and I couldn't have been more pleased with my outcome. The entire office staff at Vanguard Plastic Surgery were amazing! Thank you Dr Fletcher & team!!
I had saline breast implant for almost 20 years when I went for a review in 2013, I was suggested to change them for a "little bigger' silicone implant for some volume… I went for it but I immediately regretted as they were way to big for my small frame, they were always so cold and in the way; a total discomfort, then came the encapsulation of the left which I had corrected in 2015, then more recently, the encapsulation of the right breast. That’s when I decided to look for a permanent solution: breast implant removal. I did my research, I saw five (5) plastic surgeons before I went to Dr James Fletcher. I had all kind of proposal for my breasts; the lolly pop, the anchor, the fat transfer, even moving my nipples up, although I was always clear about my visit “removal of the implants” the same way they came in around the areola, no replacement. All off them just wanted to cut under my breast for an easy slip out. Dr Fletcher amazingly understood exactly what I wanted, I was delighted to be sitting in front of a Dr that was listening, that was compassionate and genuine. When I walked out of his office after the first visit I knew he would be my surgeon. It has been two months since the removal and I am elated with the results, I feel fantastic and I love my new look.
Dr. Fletcher is hands-down the most qualified and professional medical specialist who has ever treated me. His skill and attention to detail are simply amazing. Five years ago I tore both of my biceps playing volleyball. I am a fitness instructor and image is everything to my business. Dr Fletcher was able to regain the full look of my biceps by placing silicone implants over the damaged muscle to create the perfect balance and aesthetics. He explained the process in full detail before the surgery and his bedside manner were great!
Vanguard is the place to go for any cosmetic need! They are helpful and professional from the very beginning. I found this gem back in December of 2016 during an initial consult. Their office is immaculate! The design and atmosphere makes you feel at ease. They also have plenty of pamphlets available in the waiting area and I was able to read more about the procedures I was considering. The staff is super friendly and helpful! Also, they offer refreshments as you wait for your consult (which is not a long wait by the way). I met with Dr. Fletcher and he explained every single detail about my selected procedures. He was able to answer every single question I had and was very professional and knowledgeable. I scheduled my surgery with Dr. Fletcher and had my procedure done June of 2017. After the procedure Dr. Fletcher gave me his personal cell phone number just in case I had any questions or concerns about my recovery. I texted at 2am once and he responded promptly. A couple of days post OP, Vanguard also sent me a lovely floral arrangement to wish me a speedy recovery. Dr. Fletcher scheduled me for several post-op consults just to make sure everything is going well. One thing I can say is that these surgeons are all about results and not about the money. They have worked with me until I was completely satisfied with my procedures (and they haven't charged me a penny more for any revisions I want to do). I'm truly happy that I choose the Vanguard team to transform me!
He not only has a great personality, but he is very respectful, approachable, and knowledgeable. The first time I met Dr. Fletcher, I was impressed by his knowledge, experience, and expertise as a breast reconstructive surgeon. His kindness, personable manners, and professionalism made me feel completely comfortable. Dr. Fletcher assisted Dr. Dreszer in performing the superficial inferior epigastric artery (SIEA) flap reconstruction. The surgery was a success and I am extremely satisfied and grateful for everything they did, as well as my family. I cannot find enough words to thank Dr. Fletcher for what he has done for me and for being so attentive before and after the surgery. In my post op appointments, I’m most grateful for his patience and warmth, which put me at ease, calmed my nerves, and made me feel completely comfortable each step of the way and beyond. Dr. Fletcher is a wonderful plastic surgeon! My experience with him has been very positive, and the results of my surgery were great! Dr. Fletcher has my total respect, admiration, and gratitude. I am amazed with his professionalism, care, and dedication to his patients. I do not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking for a talented, caring, and compassionate plastic surgeon. Dr. Fletcher you are amazing!
Like many others, I developed rather early. I wore a B/C during my middle school years, which I was comfortable in. However, during the first semester of high school, I grew to a large D cup, then a DD by the second semester. This past year, I went from a DD to a 34G in only a few weeks. It caused severe stretch marks from such rapid growth. On top of the stretch marks, I had bad lower back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain due to the weight of my breasts. I began researching breast reduction surgery once I was in a DD cup, but I didn't bring it up to my mother until I reached the G cup. I explained both the physical and emotional pains that came along with having such a large chest at a young age. We booked an appointment with my primary doctor first, who gave us a referral to a plastic surgeon. I had a consultation with the surgeon who determined I was a great candidate for this procedure. However, my mom did not want to pay for the surgery, so the surgeon sent pictures of my bust the our insurance company, Health Partners, who got back to us about 2/3 weeks later saying I was approved and that they would cover all of the costs. I was so happy. We booked the surgery for June 10th, 4 days after my high school graduation. The surgery was really pretty easy. My surgery was at 12:30 on June 10th, so I couldn't eat or drink past 11:30ish on the 9th..which was no problem. I got to the hospital and they just took my vitals and all the typical things that happen before a surgery. I got the anesthesia through my IV and the last thing I remember from surgery is waking up in the recovery room, in very little pain. I was more happy than anything else. I was wearing some dressings under a surgical bra that the surgeon had put on me. It was actually really comfortable. I would suggesting having an extra surgical bra that clasps in the front as a backup in case the one you come home with needs to be washed or whatever. I got one at Walmart for less than $10, and will continue to wear it even when I am fully recovered, as it seriously really comfy. Today is June 11th, so I am one day post-op. I feel fantastic! I expected so much more pain. When the nurse asked me what my pain level was I said a 4 out of 10, not too bad, just more uncomfortable than painful. I have kept on on my pain killers, but don't really feel a ton of pain when they wear off, at least, not yet. Before surgery, I would suggest getting the following things: -Antibacterial soap(most surgeons want you to cleanse your skin with it the night before and morning of surgery) -New bath loofa to use along with the antibacterial soap -An extra surgical bra, along with a few other sports bras that are easy to take off and put on. A lot of patients are unable to lift their arms, but it really doesn't cause me much pain. I would just suggest having a sports bra that, like the surgical bra, opens and closes in the front. You could also get a sports bra that has a bra like back, where their are clasps on the back that somebody could help you close if you cannot yourself. -Have a few cute, comfy sports bras to wear for at least three weeks post-op, or until your surgeon tells you can start wearing normal bras again. -Have loose, comfortable clothes laid out for you ahead of time. I brought a loose tank top and a pair of pajama shorts to the hospital for me to wear home after surgery. Best of luck to all of you. Feel free to message me with any questions. I'd love to help you girls out! :)
Not told for 11 days what happened during my surge Repeated mistakes, too many to list here. For a surgeon who walked into the room, introduced himself & said 'We f'ed up' he made a few mistakes, the worst of which was he didn't tell me about my surgery for 11 days, no one did, even 5 days after when I left a vm for someone to call me & tell me about the surgery. No one did, ever. My prescheduled 7 day postop visit with Dr. Fletcher was changed to a nurse visit, who wasn't present during tbe surgery. IT WAS 11 DAYS BEFORE DR. FLETCHER TOLD ME WHAT OCCURRED DURING MY SURGERY. What kind of surgeon would do this to someone he cut open? What kind of human would do this to another human? It was a broken wrist, but I had a right to know what he found & did during surgery. This is very concerning. Updated on 8 Nov 2024: Repeated mistakes, too many to list here. He wrote a prescription for a muscle relaxer rather than the antibiotic he intended, yet he said he filled it. I had to insist his staff that ot was not the antibiotic he intended. He made the mistake, kept the prescription he made the error on, yet its on my chart he filled it. My prescheduled 7 day postop visit with Dr. Fletcher was changed to a nurse visit the morning of my appointment, who wasn't present during the surgery. He consciously chose not to alleviate my worry or stress. This is very concerning.
