I have really deep nasal libia folds and I was not happy with radiess at all. I had 2 cc of radiess injection in March 2014, and it looked like most of it went away in 2 months! The doctor told me it is still there, but since radiess is injected deep under the muscles, it does not show as much. So I waited for 8 months and went for voluma instead. Voluma injection didn't require anesthesia, well it did hurt a little bit when the needle first went into my skin but it wasn't too bad. It did cause some swelling, but not as bad as after radiess. It also caused less bleeding compare to radiess. I should have done this sooner! So far it's been almost a month and the result looks great! Updated on 3 Apr 2016: It has been almost one ama half years since my voluma injection and my nasal folds ate showing up, so I went back for one syringe of voluma Updated on 4 Apr 2016: Updated on 14 Apr 2016:
Started from a little over a year ago, I started to feel my face, especially my cheeks dropping. I can feel my cheeks jiggle after I hit a bump, or when I have no facial expression, I can feel my cheeks drooping. I do not like that feeling at all. I researched to see what options there are for my problem, and looks like ultherapy is the only choice I have. Updated on 15 Jan 2015: The shape of my face changed. A lot of people ask if I've lost weight, or said that I look better, but they can not pinpoint what was different. Updated on 15 Jan 2015: Updated on 7 Mar 2015: Updated on 31 Jul 2015: Updated on 28 Aug 2015: looks like it just might lasts longer than a year for me! The only other thing I did was botox in my jaw muscles 3 weeks ago. Updated on 2 Oct 2015: It's been almost a year since my ultherapy treatment and I'm still happy with the result. It doesn't look like I need a second treatment yet, but I do feel that my cheeks are a bit looser than a month ago, and they def shake a bit when I hit a bump while driving. At this point, it's more of a mental effect than actual appearance. The shaking is starting to bother me. Updated on 31 Jan 2016: It's been a little over 16 months since my ultherapy treatment, it's obvious that my chin started to drop, especially on the right side. It still looks better than before ultherapy, but I'm so use to not having any droopy cheeks that I'm seriously considering doing ultherapy again in a month. Updated on 25 Mar 2016: Updated on 15 Apr 2016: Updated on 17 Jun 2016: It's been almost 19 months since my first ultherapy. I have def debated about doing a second treatment or not> In the past couple of weeks, I have gained weight, I have lost weight, but my cheeks are getting droopy, or loose. I have also spoke to Betty, who did my first ultherapy treatment, she said I do need a second treatment soon, and it should not be as drastic as my first treatment, because she's going to use a lower dosage/energy. After making and canceling an appt with her last friday, I'm finally ready for it today! Updated on 17 Jun 2016: Updated on 17 Jun 2016: Updated on 3 Sep 2016: I'm not sure, is there any difference? Updated on 3 Oct 2016: Updated on 31 Dec 2016: Updated on 2 Apr 2017: it works great with botox, this is 10 months after my second ultherapy and 1 week after botox on my jaw lines. Updated on 6 Jun 2017: if it wasn't for a user's comment, I have completely forgot that it's been a year since my second ultherapy. Nothing has changed since my last update, which is great! let's hope it will stay this way. Updated on 9 Oct 2017: Updated on 23 May 2018: Lately, it feels like my cheeks are drooping again which made me realize it's been 2 years since my last ultherapy. It's time for another ultherapy then prob IPL to remove all the acne marks. Updated on 2 Jun 2018: It's been a week after my third ultherapy and my fave is sore!! I went to my doctor a week ago for my third ultherapy and was told that there's a promotion, that anyone who is doing ultherapy on the entire face, gets ultherapy on the neck for free. Of course I accepted that offer, even tho I didn't think I needed ultherapy on my neck. Boy! Was I wrong. For about 2 years now, I've noticed the folds/lines on my neck are getting deeper, or more obvious, but I didn't think it needs ultherapy yet. Maybe because my last ultherapy was 2 years ago and I forgot how much it hurts, maybe because I just happen to have a big face and long neck, this ultherapy session was long and painful!!!! Esp on the neck and temple and forehead!!! But it was worth it. My neck was visibly tighter right after the treatment but my face was swollen for 3 to 4 days. It's been a week now and the swell went down. My neck is tighter, so are my cheeks.
Lately I've been noticing 3 fine lines next to my left eye's outer corner when I smile, especially when I have foundation on, and 1 line next to my right eye's outer corner when I smile, so I decided to give botox a try. Dr Cui made 2 injections on each of my crowdfeet and 1 on each side, between my eyes' inner corners and nose bridge, because he said that piece of muscle move when I smile. I started seeing some results on the 2nd day and I did wish I could see better than results than that. 3-4 days later, I couldn't believer that all the 4 lines that bothered me the most are gone, even when I smile! This was def money well spent!
I am 32 years old. A recent picture made me decide to get Radiesse for my NLF. First picture is what made me get the injection. 2nd and 3rd pictures were taken 2 hours after injection. The swelling was pretty visible. 4th and 5th pictures were taken 3 days later. All the redness and well went away and I'm very happy with the result. Updated on 13 Mar 2014:
I’m a 48 years old woman. I had Juvederm and IPL done for the 1st time of my life. Juvederm to treat my chin and nasolabial fold to fill in the line. IPL to correct my sun damaged skin. The 1st 3 days my face was very swelling and bruised that I was scared that it might never healed. My face improved each day, by the end of the week. My swelling, bruises and brown spots from the IPL were all gone.I love the way my face look now. Juvederm turned back the clock for me about 7 yeas and IPL cleared the sun damage spots on my face.
This is one of the greatest laser out there that takes care of a lot of problems. It gets rid of ACNE scars, smooths wrinkles and gets rid of pigmentations on the face. The only downside abt it is that I had to take 1 weeks off from work and stay home, because it forms scabs on my entire face, which fell off in 5-7 days. Redness occurred after all the scabs fell off, and it faded away in couple of weeks. My doctor prescribed Valtrex and directed me to use Aquaphor oitnment for a week to prevent infection. I'm very happy with the result.
Went to dermatologist for consult about having some freckles & sun spots removed. After a quick look at my face, the doctor said he could remove everything with 1 session of IPL for $600. I'd become increasingly self-conscious of minor blemishes and dark spots left behind by sun damage and acne. I said I wanted to do it. The doctor told the nurse to prep me right away. I stopped him saying I had to work tomorrow (I bartend), and since the recovery time is 1-2 wks, I should reschedule. He brushed it off saying I should be fine tomorrow, it was minor &I'd be able to work. His nurse chimed in repeating the same. I was reluctantly persuaded to have it done that day. They numbed my face and right before the precedure was done, the nurse handed me a short 1 page consent and disclaimer form to sign. She seemed put out when I insisted on reading it first. I had it done. Aftercare- I had to prompt for insturctions beyond bacitracin oinment and no lotion for 2 weeks. I asked about make-up since they said I sould work the next day. She wasn't sure. Needless to say I couldn't work the next day, or the one after that, or the one after that. I've lost 4 days work, (5 shifts) so far and will lose at least one more. So the real cost of this procedure is actually easily twice what I paid. Add to it, my face is now swollen, blotchy and patchy, this has NOT been a good experience. I am afraid my face is going to end up worse off than it was before as the spots seem to be forming dark pigments on my skin (after the original spot was shed). Can anyone take a look and let me know if I should be worried. The last pictures are of day 5 after. I seem to lood worse and worse. Updated on 14 Feb 2011: Absolutely no aftercare. I had to do everything and ask myself. My skin is now worse off than it was before I ever saw him and his doctors. I definitely do not recommend his practice.
I was treated with CO2 fractional laser for acne scar on my whole face four weeks ago, now it is still pretty red and I feel hopeless because it seems like my skin is getting worse. Is there any possibility that my skin can turn back to normal color........
Red spots from acne could range from erythematous stage of recovery to permanent scar formation. Depending on how severe and how deep the inflammation of individuals' acne, the red color could fade in a few months without trace or become whitish pitting or atrophic scars. Fortunately with newer technologies that promote collage formation and remodeling, most of the scars could be prevented by earlier (as early as possible) intervention of laser, light, dermal injections, chemical stimulating, and/or surgeries. We advise you consult with your local dermatologist to determine if only observation is needed, or you should undergo specific treatments to prevent permanent scaring.
We are sorry to hear this and we do deeply understand that you must be facing a very different choice right now.But according to the only official distribution program of Isotretinoin Ipledge, it is said:“Isotretinoin must not be used by female patients who are or may become pregnant. There is an extremely high risk that severe birth defects will result if pregnancy occurs while taking isotretinoin in any amount, even for a short period of time. Potentially any fetus exposed during pregnancy can be affected. There are no accurate means of determining whether an exposed fetus has been affected. Because of this toxicity.”Please be aware that no matter how low the dosage or how short the period of time was, Accutane and its generic equivalent, birth defects are almost a certainty which usually involve ectodermal structures and the brain and eyes.
The inflammatory process of acne could destroy dermal collagen and disrupt pigment cells (melanocytes). A stronger and deeper inflammatory reaction could cause scar formation and/or induce post-inflammatory pigmentation (PIH), especially in dark skin individuals. When such events happened and conventional treatments failed, one may need professional advice on possible use of laser intervention or light based devices.
