Received Dysport and fillers in the forehead, around eyes and folds of the mouth. My mouth has a natural droop. I wanted the droop to disappear and the frown lines gone as well. Dr White explained my options to me and addressed all my questions. I was given a mouth block, which did not hurt, for the fillers around my mouth. Making sure I was ready Dr. White explained everything He was about to do before performing it. The whole experience was very relaxing with littler or no stress.
I am 7 days post op from full face CO2 laser resurfacing with fat transfer beneath my eyes. My chest was also lasered. My primary concern was to eliminate fine lines under the eyes as well as lines on either side of my mouth. Crows feet & creases in the forehead were secondary areas that I wanted to address. My chest area had sun damage from years of tanning that I wanted addressed as well. I also had Radiesse and Juvederm placed at the time of the laser surgery which accounts for some of the bruising noted on the chin area. The fat transfer definitely caused the swelling and bruising under the eyes. I am 53 yrs old and had considered a facelift, but wanted to try this as a way to combat skin laxity and loss of volume in my face. This is NOT a procedure to be taken lightly! The recovery has been difficult and down time is significant. I still have not worn makeup or been out of the house in public. Not sure when my face will be "normal" but after day 6 with continued swelling & extreme redness, I contacted my doctor who immediately asked me to return to the office for evaluation. He thought I may have a reaction to the Aquafor and placed me on steroids and told me to use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing cream instead of Aquafor. My other aftercare included Keflex, Acyclovir, Arnica, Lortab, Ativan, vinegar + water, & Aquafor. (standard of care) After care is SO important for this surgery. I have attached pictures beginning with day 1 through Day 6 and will continue to update as I continue to heal. At this point, I am very hopeful that I will have fabulous results, just understanding that time is the best healer and I must be patient. I have been given Elta MD sunscreen samples and I look forward to using sunscreen and makeup to be able to go out. This is very intense and it is a very personal revelation, but I think people must understand what this procedure is about and the downtime that it involves while healing. Updated on 16 Nov 2011: Day 8 dilute Vinegar & water compresses provide relief, but the redness persists. I have updated my daily picture I can see daily improvement with less swelling. I would love to hear from others who have started post laser skin care regimens that have been successful in decreasing the redness. Anybody familiar with copper peptides and emu oil? I know about use of Vitamin C and Retin A, but not sure when that type of product can be used. I see my Dr. again in 2 days and this issue will be addressed. Updated on 18 Nov 2011: 10 days post op and I had a follow up visit with my surgeon who started me on hydroquinolone with cortisone to combat the redness on my chest. Had first makeup application with Jane Iredale products and the makeup artist was so helpful with countering the redness and being gentle. I loved the make up products which all contain spf protection. I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. See attached pic Updated on 5 Dec 2011: I have updated a picture of my results on Day 24. I have on Bare Minerals makeup, with a redness remedy underneath the foundation. These products are less expensive that Jane Iredale and I am experimenting with the best look. My face is still somewhat red, but I am comfortable covering it with makeup and have resumed my normal schedule at the point. I have a follow up appt. with my surgeon tomorrow. Updated on 2 Jan 2012: Day 55 post CO2 Laser Resurfacing Life is better!, Much Better. I have posted New Years Eve pic for comparison sake. I am currently feeling much more confident about my skin these days. Less redness and able to wear makeup without the speciality yellow tinted redness remedy product which is an improvement. My face still is red out of the shower or after exercise, but the "track marks" are less noticeable now, it has almost been 2 months since my procedure. A huge concern for me with my "new" skin was the best method of skin care and I must say, I have tried to change a few things to improve my skin appearance. Starting with learning to sleep on my back! Yikes!, this was hard to do, so I enlisted the aid of a mini-travel pillow with a very smooth satin cover which has been great. In addition to drinking lots of water, I am in a daily routine of skin care which includes: AM Routine SimplySkinRx Foaming cleanser 20% Vitamin C Serum SkinMedica TNS Serum Elta MD Sunscreen SPF 46 SimplySkinRx Day Lotion- antioxidants Bare Minerals Brightening Primer Bare Minerals Makeup PM Cleanser SimplySkinRx Night lotion-glycolics Renova Weekly mask with SimplySkinRx (feels great & tightens pores) Occasional use of the Emu oil for addl moisture and Aquafor under my eyes as a barrier I can now say I am looking forward to protecting my investment and taking care of my skin. I have experimented with a ton of products and would love to see what others are using that has been helpful. Hope this story helps any of you considering CO2 Laser Resurfacing and good luck to all in the quest for great skin! Updated on 23 Sep 2013: Yes, I can still agree that this was a successful procedure for me. I think I still have benefits from collagen production, even 9 months out, as this picture was taken Aug 2012. I have started routine SkinMedical peels and I use SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex faithfully.
Hello all, my name is Jasmine and I am current 34E at 5 for 7 and 135lbs. My breast have always been an issue for me ever since the age of 8. I have back and shoulder pain and my breast affected me as a track athlete. I can not wait for them to be an appropriate size for my small frame. My procedure is next Thursday and I am beyond excited!! Updated on 21 Jan 2016: Today was the big day!!! I went in at 8 am and I am now home at 1:30pm. I am in pain, about a level 6, but I just tookan Oxycodone to ease some of the pain. I did great waking up and did not cry, but I am very talkative. My nipples are literally on fire and under my boobs hurt some. I was expecting WAYYY worst, but honestly, my Tonsillectomy was worst than this! I do not have any drains and the is minimal bleeding. Thank you Dr. White!!! You are the absolute best!!! I will keep you guys updated daily. Updated on 23 Jan 2016: Today has been a little rough. I'm experiencing a dull aching pain and took 2 Percocet. Overall, I feel much better than I expected. I am mobile around my home and was able to shower wit minimal pain. I am a little disappointed that I have the anchor incision, but I am still very pleased with rhe results. So far, no bruising or excess drainage. I have sensation in both nipples!!!! We will see what tomorrow brings, but so far so good. Dr. White is AMAZING and did a wonderful job on me. I was told that he used liposuction to reduce some of my side boobage. Updated on 29 Jan 2016: Hey friends! It's been eight whole days since I've had my surgery. It feels much longer. OMG!! Well, in those eight days I've only had two bowel movements and I've been on a laxative. I highly recommend starting a laxative the day after surgery because you will not poop for 5-6 days if you do not take one. The Percocet really interrupts that. On a lighter note, I am off of pain meds completely and I am doing great!! I still have to take it easy and can't really lift much, but I am going to class regularly and sleeping a little better. Here are some photo updates. My right boob is gravitating to the side, but oh well! I still love them
Sclerotherapy is the Gold Standard for spider veins of the lower extremities. When patients have the smallest red capillary spider veins {called T-matts}, topical lasers are the better choice. In our office, we alternate between YAG laser, XPL and V-beam laser for effects. Note these lasers work based on color differences between the skin and the spider veins. They cannot be used on tanned skin. Topical lasers do better with facial veins, because facial veins are closer to the surface and under less venous pressure. Limited experience with Vasculight.
By limited review of the submitted photograph, I feel that the demonstrated facial vein is too large to be effectively treated by YAG laser. A better approach when the vessel is more than 2 mm in diameter involves a specialized technique of very gentle surgical removal Micro-phlebectomy. Mini vein stripping (a micro-phlebectomy) can be done through a very small incision with rapid healing and decreased risks.
YAG laser, V-beam laser and limited sclerotherapy for facial veins are common practice techniques. The laser therapy is based on light absorption---in other words the lighter skin absorbs less heat from the laser than the darker colored veins. Puffy edema, bruises, an rupture of the small veins is very common making the area look purple and bruised. We often alternate YAG laser with V-beam laser and occasional limited sclerotherapy to get rid of facial veins. Larger blue temple veins respond better to limited sclerotherapy. For a long time, physicians were concerned about sclerotherapy in the face. Recent studies have shown that limited sclerotherapy can be safely completed in the face. If the vessel is more than 2 mm in diameter, then a specialized technique of very gentle surgical removal (a micro-phlebectomy) can be done through a very small incision. Not sure where you can have the procedure completed in Ireland. Look for an experienced Phlebologist.

I routinely tell my patients that absorption of the small veins can take up to 6 weeks for reduction. We often alternate YAG laser with V-beam laser and occasional limited sclerotherapy to get rid of facial veins. Time is the great healer. Return to your provider, if hyperpigmentation of the skin is expected...therapies can be started to reduce pigment changes. Doubt that you have ruined your skin.
Small veins over the face can present in many forms. T-matts, varicose veins and generalized red face associated with Rosacea. Treatments can vary based on the diagnosis numbers of veins, intensity of color and location of the veins. Treatment options include: Limited localized sclerotherapy, high frequency microcautery, Intense pulse light [multiple sessions], V-beam with pulse dye lasers [multiple sessions], YAG laser [multiple sessions]. Unsure what procedure that you had completed for the "treatment". All of the listed options do have some type of pain and discomfort associated with the procedure. Our office follows a protocol: 1] Intense education about procedures and options to include expectations 2] Local numbing with topical creams 3] Intense cooling during procedure with Zimmer Chiller 4] Expect multiple sessions for best effect and combinations of all options 5] Package prices as multiple sessions are expected 6] Patients are dismissed to home with custom facial gel packs, near frozen for multiple uses in the first 4 hours post therapy. 7] Detailed before and after photographs to document therapy and goals. Do expect some pain, in order to resolve facial veins, some form of energy will need to be introduced to cause vein thrombosis and absorption. Do expect your surgeon to use measures to control your pain and discomfort.
