I am 1 week post surgery and concerned with droopy right upper eyelid. I still have a few remaining stitches that will be removed next week. Saw Dr 2 days ago and he removed stitches from upper lids and said the right eye often swells more because he starts on the right side. Hopefully it will resolve but wondering if this is common and if others have had this experience.
I made the Tulsa circuit of self researched & recommended surgeons. I even looked in OKC & a FaceTime consult w/ a fancy Dallas surgeon. Total 5 seen in Tulsa. I waited a month to see Dr Garber. It was worth it. He was the only one to actually take measurements of my profile. His bedside manner was more like a caring Dad. The consultation was an hour & he was the only one to share possible side effects and things that his patients had shared. Some of the other consults were like getting pulled back in to the managers office at the car dealership. Some were condescending after I went back with more questions. I learned a lot of what I didn’t know so I needed to follow up to make sure I was choosing the best procedure for me. One surgeon that was very charismatic, swept me off my feet, come to find out, was not even board certified in plastic surgery. One thing I learned.....look up their name on your state’s court records. The aforementioned Doctor had over 20 lawsuits & other surgeons I met with even said he had several deaths. No one is perfect, Dr Garber included but he was the perfect choice for me! His follow up, house call, he gave my husband his cell phone- we even had a tiny billing issue & he personally wrote me a check to cover part of the difference. I highly recommend him.
I wanted this surgery for over a decade and can't say I regret a single thing. My Dr. said he tried a couple sizes on me and chose 350CC due to it being most proportional on my body. At first I thought they were entirely too large, but I love them so much now and can't imagine them being smaller. I got my surgery on a Thursday and was confidently back to work on Wednesday. I tried to return to work on Tuesday, but that proved to be too soon. There was large discomfort with the swelling at first, but no unbearable pain. However, sneezing was incredibly painful due to the muscle tension. I started as a 34AA, now after 350 CC I'm a 34 C/D at Victoria's Secret. Mostly C.
I'm going in this Friday for a lower eye lift. The fat bags have doubled in the last 6 months. I was hoping for a full lower and upper but the Dr. Advised against it for now. I'll post a before and sometime next week an after :) I was pleasantly shocked at the price. After 6 consultations around town here in Tulsa, the average cost is only 2,400. I had the mommy makeover 3 years ago which was 15,000. Middle America seems to be a less expensive place for surgery. I have priced CA and FL doctors as well which were close to double for the eye surgery and about 30% more for the mommy makeover. Updated on 21 May 2016: This was far more painful than I thought. The swelling really is bad regardless of the ice packs every twenty minutes. My eyeballs itch terribly as well but I, of course, can not touch. Updated on 23 May 2016: The swelling has doubled. The pain is nearly gone. The stitches are starting to itch and bother me. Updated on 24 May 2016: Almost all of the stitches out today. Spoke with Dr. Garber and he mentioned how bad my fat pockets actually were once he got in there. He said he was shocked. I called my mom to tell her what he had said. Her reply was "oh yes, I had an eye lift when I was your age as well! Must be hereditary!" Ugh! Nice, mom! Would have been maybe something to know a few years ago! I couldn't figure out why my eye bags were so bad! Updated on 26 May 2016: The bruising has almost gone. It's finally yellowing. My side stitches have it been taken out..... I believe he said 5 more days. I'm still a touch puffy and I'm scared to put on any make up. I went to work today and yesterday. Feel fine. Just a lot people asking questions ???? Updated on 11 Aug 2016: I get compliments everyday about the difference and how young my eyes look! I still can not run my eyes ( like the sleepy eye rub) The sockets are painful if touched rough. No pain otherwise, I also have zero scars now!
