Dr. Micallef is really nice & funny! He makes you feel comfortable rather in for an office visit or going in for surgery. He doesn't hesitate to answer any questions or concerns you might have. He is honest & tells you in detail why he thinks you need certain things done. I'm loving with my results!
Never in a million years did I think I would have this body. Dr. Micallef and his staff at Austin Plastic Surgeon are the best! They make my recovery comfortable and were always available for questions I had. I am so incredibly happy with my results and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about having any procedure done to see him. I still can not believe this is my body and I am so grateful!
Dr. Micallef in the San Antonio office did the Aveli treatment on me, he removed 33 dimples and changed the entire look of my behind, then I had lipo 360 and a BBL also done by Dr. Micallef and it turned out amazing. I haven't looked this good since high school and I'm 55. The staff is amazing and Dr. Micallef is the best, he is attentive and responded to all my text/questions prior to and for weeks after the procedure. I've also had a facial in the San Antonio office that made my face feel like a babies bottom.
I’d like to state the doctor was great. As for Aveli it was super painful for 2 weeks after. I’m not sure it’s worth the money or pain. I don’t really see the difference I just as hoping for. I know a lot of my problem is skin laxity. Updated on 18 Mar 2023: I am two months out now and I would definitely say it’s not worth it. Between the cost and the pain I don’t see a significant difference. This is more for someone that doesn’t have a lot of cellulite. Updated on 7 Apr 2023: This is my 3 month post op results and my final update. It’s been 12 weeks and this is my final results . I was hoping for better results. For as much money and pain as this was, I was hoping to get rid of more cellulite. this is probably a good procedure for someone who doesn’t have that much. Updated on 9 May 2024: Rather expensive procedure for the results , which were quite subtle. As you can see from the pre/post photos, the improvement was not very much and I still have plenty of cellulite. Also the recovery is more painful than expected. Thus, between the big expense, painful surgery, painful recovery, and scars where the tool went in--I don't see my mediocre results as worth it at all.
I recently had a breast and bra-line lift with Dr. Chris Micallef of Austin Plastic Surgeon and I couldn’t be happier with the whole process and with the results. I expected nothing less than am amazing result as that had been my experience with a previous surgery (tummy tuck with 360 degree liposuction) that I had with Dr. Micallef. That I am a return patient speaks volumes about the quality of his work. He is as much artist as he is surgeon. From the initial consultation thru aftercare, Dr. Micallef was always approachable, available, and concerned for my wellbeing. This was particularly important to me as I am considerably older than the average patient. Dr. Micallef actively listened to me and made sure he understood what I wanted, suggesting alternative ways to achieve the desired result. He thoroughly explained the pros and cons of each procedure and helped me decide which would be the best and most safe, given my age. I had minimal pain after the surgery and I healed much more rapidly than I had anticipated. Although I’m still in the final stage of recovery, the scars are already fading and I am delighted with the results. My breasts look better now than they ever did before—even in my youth. I can't imagine a better experience than what I had with Dr. Micallef. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking cosmetic surgery to improve their appearance and confidence.
I cannot say enough good things about this office, my experience from start to finish with Dr. Micallef and the rest of the team I worked with for my breast augmentation has been amazing. Patient care, safety and comfort is their number one concern. From pre-op to post-op, docs care and attention to detail is very evident. I absolutely recommend Dr. Micallef to anyone looking for the best of the best.
I originally posted a 3 star review but after him asking for me to sign a non-disparagement agreement to do an already discussed revision, not replying to my email, and his overall customer service, I've decided to leave 1 star. TLDR; Charismatic surgeon but says off-putting remarks at times, GREAT tummy tuck, underestimated results of arm lift and needed a revision, mixed general office management and constant reschedules due to office opening, was getting a revision during summer for them to reschedule 4 times, left a review and as a result, they wanted me to sign an agreement as collateral to do the revision that was previously promised verbally. I declined and never received a reply and simply, the ethics and morals are sadly just not there. TIMELINE I first met Dr. Micaleff Jan 19 2023 via Austin Plastic Surgeons. He was charismatic and with my concerns, explained the procedure, and gave recommendations, including an arm lift. I originally asked about the mini brachioplasty but he advised against it. After a 2nd consult in his own practice, he changed his advise and said we can do a mini. Great for less scar, but strange the advice changed. He gave me a $1K discount, and my whole procedure was just under $30K, fairly average. I booked for a winter surgery and would return for the holidays for post op care. Almost every visit I’ve scheduled with him I’ve always seen him 30-45 minutes after (on top of a commute of 40 minutes). They were never on time in seeing me and would apologize, a major pain point. DAY OF SURGERY We scheduled for Dec. 15th 2023 in the early AM. The day of surgery, they post-poned it to 10 or 11 am since he squeezed in another procedure last minute before me. I waited almost 2 hours until the procedure finally started, so start time was really around 12:30pm or 1pm. As he was marking me up, he kept getting phone calls. In one of them, he did answer and had to step away. In the moment of marking me up and being essentially naked, it felt insensitive and lack of focus in an extensive procedure. Thankfully, healing is smooth sailing EXCEPT my arm lift. POST OP The compression sleeve is digging into my arm so bad it leaves a mark. In my one week post op follow up, he said it was dirt and should come off after scrubbing. It was NOT dirt and was a result of the sleeves being too small and marking my skin from being literally too tight. I still have this marking as of 12/2024. Jan 3rd 2024 another follow up at 8:45am and wasn’t seen until an hour after. Dr. Micaleff and his staff kept trying to blame me saying I had the wrong appointment time, even though their system notifications said otherwise. Dr. Micaleff called me to also say I had the wrong time, to eventually apologize for scheduling me incorrectly. Fast forward a few months, the wound is not healing. I'm out of state and he promises to do the revision during summer. Summer comes around, and he keeps postponing it. I organized my summer to accommodate and because of the delays of his office, I wasn't able to get the revision. His justification was because of the office not opening, he has no facility to do it. Mind you, the alternative as a good will gesture could have been to do it at a facility and they cover fees (Doctors CAN do this). Again, I live out of state. After the way this was handled, the past history, and the overall ethics of his practice, I decided to get the revision locally. I told him my plans both via WhatsApp and email and that if they wanted to truly make it right, they could help with paying the revision. No reply. Please do multiple consults. Doing a procedure is a long term relationship for at least a year, and the way he handled this was not great. Even his current office coordinator has admitted things were not handled well prior to her and there was a lot of complaints from others. We had a call after my first review to see about making it right, but a non-disparagement agreement AND for me to go back to Texas to accommodate him after scheduling a month and a half for this was not the solution.
This appears to be a double-bubble deformity based on the appearance. This is a known complication as related to breast augmentation and may be due to surgical technique or implant descent leading to the characteristic appearance of two parallel curvilinear creases running across the lower pole of the breast. Individuals may be morphologically pre disposed to a double bubble deformity. Those at risk may include those whom have a short nipple to fold distance, those whom have a constricted or tight lower pole to there breast, congenital anatomic condition namely tuberous breast deformity or sub-pectoral implant placement. Correction of a double bubble deformity must take into account the etiology of this deformity. If the patient has had a sub-pectoral implant and has adequate soft tissue coverage then converting the implant to a "virgin" pocket from the sub-pectoral to the submammary space may be indicated. Those whom have inadequate soft tissue coverage as determined on clinical examination by pinch thickness may be converted to a dual plane or neosubpectoral pocket. Further reinforcing and reconstructing the anatomic inframammary fold with a mesh of sorts (acellular dermal matrix, galaflex, durasorb mesh) may be indicated to help restore the position of the anatomic fold. Finally a discussion surrounding implant volume and size may need to be reviewed to help prevent this deformity from recurring. A double-bubble deformity is correctable in most cases. Treatment of a double bubble deformity as evidenced by these photos consists primarily of repositioning of the implant and reinforcing the anatomic fold with possible use of an adjunctive matrix.
