From my consultation, to my pre op, to surgery table, to my post op appts, to final results everything was extremely amazing! My results are fantastic and I highly recommend Dr Kovanda and his staff. A+
Currently on day two of my surgery. I got 4 liters of fat removed from my abdominal area and back with breast implants gummy bear high profile (450 cc) since I'm 5'0 I felt that size fit me perfectly. Currently super sore trying to stay hydrated and eat/ drink lots of greens. I will post my before pictures and soon I will post my after journey pictures. Updated on 21 May 2021: I forgot to mention I also had chin lipo as well. I still have to wear the garment everyday until my post op appointment. As you can see still very swollen however, boobs are not as swollen as I imagined. Finally showered today and man was it hard getting that faja back on. I still use my paddings so my garment doesn’t crease into me. Waiting for the swelling on my body to come down! Updated on 7 Mar 2022: Love my boobies! I wish I would’ve gotten bigger size and maybe silicone instead of gummy bear just to have them sit higher. But overall love them! Updated on 8 Mar 2022:
I've wanted larger breasts since I was a teen. Ultimately chose to get a fat transfer because I wanted a modest size improvement, specifically wanted skinnier arms, and I wanted to correct some asymmetry. Also did not want to deal with risks associated with implants. I spoke to 4 surgeons and ultimately chose Dr. Kovanda. I was very comfortable when I first met him and I liked his patient profile and results online. My overall office experience was average. I was however an international patient and surgery did occur during Covid-19 (when deemed safe of course), so I do think that that came into play. Upon my first visit I found that Dr Kovanda was very thorough and professional. My pre op was virtual and very short, sort of felt like it was unnecessary but I do think my experience would have been different if it were in office, as I took my own measurements and pictures. Surgery day went well, all the staff at the hospital and Dr. Kovanda's team were absolutely fantastic. Healing was so so. Dr kovanda came to see me as I got out of surgery but I was still a little loopy from the anesthetic. I left the hospital with pain medication and antibiotics. Overall the pain feels like the day after a super intense cross fit boot camp workout type of deal. Very manageable. No infection. I do think it would have been nice if the office/Dr. Kovanda called/checked in a few days after surgery- it would have made the experience feel more personable and much less transactional. Just a small detail that I think could really add to a patient's experience- overall not a make or break by any means but it would have been nice, especially as an international patient. Bruising is the worst a few days in- looks very rough but just felt like a post-workout day. Overall so so due to results. Going into the procedure I knew the risks and I knew that there was no guarantee for fat survival. With this surgery as well there is only so much that one can improve size wise, and as a smaller framed patient I knew that I my results were limited. Post op stitch removal appointment was extremely quick and was about 5 mins long. With the series of very quick appointments + no call, my experience did feel a little transactional but overall I didn't really have any concerns or issues day of so I sort understand the quickness. Initially there was a large improvement. I think there was a total transfer of 400ccs (1300 removed from arms, stomach, back/flank, thighs) I was a worried with the colour of my breasts the first few days after surgery, but as there were no other symptoms of infection or necrosis (no pain, no fever) I just shrugged it off as bruising. As my swelling went down my breasts started to take their shape. Now at day 12 my bruising is nearly gone on my chest, still some some bruising on lipo sites. A little bit of pain only in my arms and thighs if there's pressure/out of my garment. Overall my breasts are more symmetrical and I have no lumps or bumps, but there is only about a 1/2 cup difference size wise and I am unfortunately the same bra cup size. My arms are noticeably skinnier. Flanks as well. Not a noticeable difference in thighs (which I'm very ok with). In terms of Dr. Kovanda a work I am very happy that there are no deformities and that my breast are more even/symmetrical. Very happy that my arms are skinnier. Again I knew the risks/limitations but I definitely wish they turned out a little bigger (was hoping/expecting a full cup). I will update again in a few weeks, when my results are more so set in stone. Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Every day they seem to get smaller... am noticing some added fullness but barely... Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Updated on 2 Mar 2021: Updated on 14 Mar 2021: Day 25: I am happy! With more healing and upon further inspection I am noticing a significant amount of fat is now part of the base of my breasts, where prior to surgery I had very little to begin with. While I had hoped for a little larger (projection wise) overall, I’m realizing that my breasts are very much so fuller. They are also significantly more even. I have noticed this especially when taking photos. Prior to surgery, I often used my hand and squeezed with my arm to make my breasts appear larger (not in the before photos-view attached), now I am pleased with how my breasts appear with little squeezing and angle work! I am very pleased with Dr. Kovanda’s work. No lumps or bumps, no dimples at harvesting sites. My results appear completely natural, and the scars on my breasts aren’t noticeable at all. He did a fantastic job. I am hoping to do this surgery again to gain a little more volume. As far as the rest of my healing goes, I still have a bit of bruising on my inner thighs and the scars on my arms and hips are still raised and a little pink, but seem to be healing well! Initially I had some numbness in my arms after lipo, although now somewhat unpleasant at times (random stinging/burning sensations) I am happy to say that my feeling is returning! For those considering a fat transfer: I am very ok with going for the surgery a second time- for me implants was not an option I wanted to take. While of course it would be awesome to move up a few cup sizes in a single surgery, that’s just not the case with fat transfers. Although costly I am pleased with my results! Updated on 21 Mar 2021: For those of you wondering! Here are what my scars look like at day 32. I have one on each shoulder, two on my hips, one on each nipple (virtually invisible), and one on my butt. They are slightly pink and either flat or barely raised. The scar tissue is a little tough, but I will begin to massage them to soften them up. The scars are only a few mm in length. Any other lines on my body are from undergarments.
Did chin lipo, breast augmentations, and BBL all on the same day. The Anesthesiologist was so heartwarming. I was super nervous and he made me feel so comfortable. 1,2,3,4 days after he lipo my stomach didn't seem much different from my stomach before surgery. Was disappointed. Was like, did he not do his job? Layed on my abs for the night and woke up and voila, stomach slimmed. Realized that the trick to get flat abs is laying on your abs speeds up the swelling and flattens the abs faster. Each day it’s getting slimmer and slimmer. Dr. Kovanda did an awesome job on my stomach, breasts, and hips. Butt wasn’t as perky as I wanted but I am satisfied with the other parts of the body. A bit annoyed that he rushed through things when you see him for pre-op and post-op but he does do a good job on your body. He gave me an hourglass shape. Recovery was hell to do so much on the same day. I would not recommend doing breast and butt bc it’s so hard to sleep. Sleeping was hell. If you’re going to do any kind of surgery, I recommend doing it separately so you can sleep better and have a better recovery. Overall, I definitely recommend Dr. Kovanda to anyone.
My Breast Augmentation looks WOW!! After 12 years and 3 children, I decided it was time I Invested in myself. My main concern before surgery was: implants riding too high, being highly uncomfortable for weeks, implants looking too fake as I chose 500 cc for volume, incisions and scarring would be very noticeable. To my surprise I had none of those problem! Even at 3 days post op it looked so natural! It does not ride high like most implants so it’s more natural and the healing process was easier to manage, I had no pain after surgery, I didn’t even have to take pain meds or tylenol! He is such a seamstress I could barely notice where the incisions and scars are. I have already scheduled my abdominoplasty, brachioplasty and a few other procedures. Thank you Dr. Kovanda you made me feel like i made the right decision. Updated on 28 Oct 2020: This was me before I went into surgery, I was at most a 36 B bra in Victoria secret, Sometimes couldn’t even fill out the bra. I had no upper pole fullness and cleavage was non existent. I had my surgery done at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis, MN and received great service and care by staffs, I wish I had more pics of before but never really thought of taking pictures (not something I really want to remember anyways)
Dr Kovanda is a wonderful surgeon. He has great bedside manner and truly makes you feel 100% comfortable. He revised a previous breast augmentation that I had with another surgeon. I came to Kovanda with a double bubble/ snoopy breast deformity and he fixed it! To my understanding this kind of revision is not an easy fix. My breasts looked perfect after his revision. I was so happy with my results and I felt so beautiful! He is truly an artist and his staff are wonderful too.
I am so happy with my results.. He is amazing at his work.. I would highly recommend him to anyone I would most definitely would go back to him.. I am so lucky to have picked him as my doctor.. He makes sure you get the results you want. I was shocked after my surgery I never imagine I would have these amazing results... I appreciate so much to him and his amazing team that helped me through this process.. They made me feel so comfortable with the whole process...
I decided to get the BBL even though I have a small frame. I am 5'4, roughly 150lbs. My stomach is my biggest problem area & I'll show you why...it was like no matter what I ate, even veggies, my stomach would blow up. Updated on 23 Nov 2019: I would say the pain is worse today than it was yesterday, probably due to all the anesthesia. The bruising looks a lot worse than what it actually is. I get to take a shower tomorrow so I'll be able to see some of the results, obviously not the finished project. My stomach will be quite a bit smaller than this because as of now, I'm wearing foam pads & still super swollen. Updated on 7 Jan 2020: Waist is 26” & hips are 39”
He did an absolutely amazing job! He was very easy to talk to and understanding of what I was looking for- and his work exceeded all of my expectations! I will be seeing him again for any other surgical needs.
4 years ago, Dr. Kovanda performed breast augmentation surgery on myself and I could not be happier! We decided, because I'm a petite woman who lifts weights multiple times a week, that a Sientra subfascial cohesive gel implant would be the best option for me. They have a very natural appearance. I honestly can't remember how I lived without them! He is a very knowledgeable and professional doctor with great bedside manner. I fully trusted him throughout the entire process from consultation to post OP appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Kovanda!
