I had AquaLipo to my lower abs, sides, banana roll, and inner thighs with Dr. Emerson in November 2015. The overall procedure was very easy. My husband drove me so I was able to be given pain medication (which I preferred since I had never had a procedure before and wasn't sure how I would tolerate it). Dr. Emerson and his staff are truly the best. One of the hardest things in the world for anyone to do is to have to take your clothes off in front of strangers; however, the nurses (Ashleigh, Jen, Jo) and Dr. Emerson made me as comfortable as they could and were so respectful. After Dr. Emerson marked the areas to be treated the nurses quickly covered me up to respect modesty and I appreciated that so much as I know other women would. They had music playing and were so sweet, personable, and patient. They communicated each part of the procedure so I knew what was happening; however, I must admit I fell asleep after the initial numbing of the tissue from the medication ;) Once Dr. Emerson was finished the nurses cleaned me up, bandaged me, and helped me get dressed. I was sent home with extra dressings and tape and a detailed instruction sheet. I was also provided with pain medication that I only took before bed. The nurses were wonderful when it came to post-op expectations-reminding me that this is not an overnight procedure and does take time. Diet/exercise extremely encouraged after two weeks post op. I had a 1 week and 6 week post op visit. 1 week just a check-up and at 6 weeks we took photos and I was so pleased with the results for only being half-way finished! I went from wearing a size 10 in misses jeans to a size 6-sometimes a 4! Tops I went from medium to small. It's not a weight loss procedure but I did lose roughly 5-6lbs after 12 weeks. I stayed in the garment for 12 weeks as instructed and also did this during the end of fall-winter so it wasn't too bad as the garment kept me warm ;) Overall, I had a fantastic experience with NuBody Concepts and would recommend any friend/family member. I actually referred my stepmom to Dr. Greco who performed her tummy tuck a couple months after my procedure and she is also very happy with her results. Thank you, Dr. Emerson, and all at NuBody Concepts for the excellent care and customer service!
I thought about having Aqualipo for almost 2 years. One day I just decided to do it; called for a consultation, made the appointment for the procedure and did it. The procedure was not at all as bad as I expected - even though all of the testimonies I read/heard made it sound rather easy...I just knew it would probably be worse. It wasn't. I was pleased at week one...even though I was still a little swollen. At week 6, I totally broke down in tears when I saw my before/after pictures. I couldn't believe it! As of now, having this procedure ranks in the top three best things I have ever done for myself. I would definitely do it again and would encourage others (who have tried everything and nothing is working) to "just do it". My tummy is flatter (both upper and lower), my love handles are gone, thank G-d, and the back bra fat is gone. I am one happy person! And...my best friend and my 80 y/o mother are scheduling appointments. The only thing I would do different is have the procedure in the fall or winter. It gets rather hot wearing the compression garment during the summer months, especially if you are active outdoors.
New body changed my life. From the very sweet girls in the office to the consults the nurses and most of all Dr. Trey Emerson, the most thoughtful and kind Doctor I have ever had. He makes you feel important and wants you to feel confidant in yourself. After my experience having my Aqua lipo my life has so much more meaning. After going through more than one woman should have to in one year I have a new life after Dr Emerson did my surgery. I love to look at my self in the mirror with smaller clothes on and I feel like I have bloomed like a flower. I would recommend anyone who needs that confidence back in there life please take that first step for yourself and see New Body Concepts and Dr. Trey Emerson I promise you will, as I did life will change for the better and the smile you will have will be worth a million.
After two babies and 2 c-sections my belly was left wrecked. I wanted to have a tummy tuck but I am very active and athletic and I just could not afford to be down 8 weeks and then have to rebuild my abs again. I was not sure that aqualipo and smart lipo would fix my problem areas, but I was elated to find out that they think i am a good candidate. After looking at many videos and reviews I decided to book my procedure just before the holidays. Im excited and nerves at the same time. I really really hate my stomach area. I eat very well and work out in extreme ways but my baby rolls have not left me and It makes me so self conscious and self loathing. My date can't get here soon enough. Im so ready! Updated on 17 Nov 2015: Getting excited and anxious at the same time. Updated on 26 Nov 2015: Hi all, I must say I got really nervous the day before my procedure. Im not sure if looking at other profiles helped or hurt my anticipation of going into this procedure. However once I got there the staff at NuBody Concepts relaxed me almost instantly and helped me focus on what we were going to do. The surgery itself went very well. The worst part was getting the initial injections, as it stung a bit but quickly subsided. There were a few times with the water and lasers that stung a bit. Mainly when it got close to my hip bone or belly button but I made it through it without any trouble. The hour went by fairly quick, and during the procedure we talked about the music playing and laughed a lot. Dr. Emerson and his crew were very professional and kind. I was gauzed up and into my compressions before I knew it and was on my way home. I did take a valium which made me light sensitive, so the ride home was a bit much but once home I was able to comfortably get into bed and sleep. My husband had to help me change my first set of gauze. I got pretty nauseous standing up, so I took an anti-nauseous pill and laid back down for the remainder of the night. Today Im doing great. I was able to change my pads myself and even get back into my compressions alone. The removed 3 liters of fat from me yesterday. Though Im not so sure I can tell much of a difference right now. I do feel flatter, but when I look at the side and front views Im not seeing a huge difference like I see in most peoples day 1 pictures. I know that it's early, and I know that Im swelling, so Im not to worried about it at this point. Will post up pictures later. All in all Im happy with the service and care I received. Im hoping that the procedure produces good results. I don't want to have to do a full tummy tuck because I don't want my muscles cut. So cross your fingers that this heals well and my skin gets super tight. Updated on 26 Nov 2015: Updated on 27 Nov 2015: So I'm pretty impressed with how I'm recovering. Minimal bruising, minimal swelling, a little sore but not too bad. I have been using ice packs and ibuprofen as needed and saving prescription pain meds for night time. I'm still concerned with the amount of skin hanging over my c-section line however I'm super impressed with my sides and upper abs. They are amazingly tight. I can't pinch even 1/2 an inch . So I'm hoping my skin starts to tighten and pull up the loose skin. I probably won't post for a few days now but it helps to track this progress. Updated on 30 Nov 2015: So day 5-- recovery is going well. Still little bruising in the outside but for sure internal bruising felt. I also feel the stinging that some people refer to but only when I touch certain spots. I think my cg is already too loose though I'm not sure I'm seeing much change right now. Patience is the hardest thing right now. Words of advise or experience in this area ? Updated on 5 Dec 2015: So I went for my week checkup yesterday which was really day 9. I was still swollen but down by almost 3" on my waist and 2" on my hips. They put me in a medium CG which is right but feels better than the large. I'm fighting my urge to be super critical at this point. I'm really concerned how my skin is going to tighten up or if I'm going to continue to have this overhang. I really don't want a TTuck, so please send me tightening energy!!! I'm making sure I'm drinking lots of water and rubbing down twice a day with good moisture oils on my belly, hips and back. The nurse seemed to think I would be much happier at the 6 week mark so I'm crossing my fingers and practicing my skills in patience. I'm kind of glad it's the holidays because there's lots of other things to focus on besides my middle body. :). Will also be better when I can get back to the gym. Updated on 9 Dec 2015: For certain, I have seen some changes taken place this week. Im swelling a lot less, though like most people, it's goes up and down through the day. I have been making sure Im drinking plenty of fluids, using sea salt scrubs on my belly ( the incisions are all closed now) and using good oils twice a day to help with the skin retraction. The medium CG started off pretty uncomfortable but now feels fine in just a little under a week, so maybe there's hope that I'll get in that small yet! :) While I am still seeing quite a bit of hanging skin, it's has retracted some and my upper abs feel flat. So Im trying to practice patience. I also returned to the dance studio last night which was awesome feeling. I miss my time in the studio, and sitting at home was doing no Bueno on my tight hips. I didn't have any problem doing my normal 2.5 hours of classes, which I was stoked about. I've decided that Im obsessing a little too much on the pictures, so I've decided not to post any this week, rather, I will post one on the third week. Other than the loose skin I feel great Updated on 15 Dec 2015: Tomorrow is my three week postop date, and I am starting to see continued progress. It's not super fast but it is noticeable The skin is starting to tighten up a little bit but there's a lot more to go and hopefully my body will cooperate. Updated on 8 May 2016: So after my 6 weeks I was happy with the contouring that took place from the aqualipo but my skin never tightened up. In fact it looked worse than previously because there was nothing in there. My idea of loose skin was also very different than their idea of loose skin. To me having folds that hung over was not "loose" skin, that's hanging folds of skin. I was pretty unhappy with the results, over all and decided to have a consultation with Dr. Greco regarding where we went from here. In the end, I did have a "skin only" tummy tuck and now I am super pleased. I will write a separate review for that. I can say that I am happy I had the aqualipo prior to the tummy tuck. My only regrets is 1) I didn't ask to speak with the Dr. Emerson prior to the day of surgery. I believe he would have confirmed that I needed a tummy tuck to get the results I desired and I could have made more appropriate plans.
I originally went into NuBody Concepts out of curiosity. I met with one of the consultants there, Rachelle, who was very easy to talk to. My goal was to see what the process would be to remove some belly fat that has plaguing me since I was a teenager. She was incredibly honest about managing my expectations and easily answered every question I had. When I was introduced to the process of Aqualipo, I was seriously impressed. The recovery time is short, it's not invasive, and all the folks there made me feel right at home. It didn't take me too long to sign up! The day of the surgery was incredibly easy. My nurses were Kendra and Katie and they made me feel very comfortable. I've never gotten surgery like this before and they reassured me every step of the way. Dr. Emerson, who performed the procedure, was incredible. He walked me through every step and I didn't feel a thing during. The one thing that they really reinforced for me was to wear the compression garment after the procedure. LISTEN TO THEM! This part is almost just as important as the procedure itself. It's been about three months since the procedure and all those lumps and bumps that used to embarrass me when I wore dresses are gone. I can't recommend this enough.
I was told I wouldn't grow fat cells in my stomach anymore which I probably haven't but the fat cells they left in my stomach have expanded. They did not remove all of the fat nor did this procedure tighten my skin. This was a total waste of money. After my procedure when I didn't get results I was told to diet and exercise
I went in to have the aqua lipo procedure to my abdomen with a fat transfer to my butt. It's been about 3 weeks and I have yet to see any improvement. My belly looks as if no fat was removed and my butt looks lumpy with no noticeable addition. This was done in all to prepare myself for a vacation in which I wanted to wear a 2-piece swimsuit with confidence. The swimsuit will not be worn and I'm so upset I now have to consider alternate procedures but definitely not by this doctor.
I met with Andrea today 6/23/15. She was such a sweetheart. Everyone so far has been so sweet and answered all my questions. My procedure was scheduled for July 1, 2015, but when I got back home they called and said they had a cancellation and could do it the very next day. I was so happy for the chance to get it over as soon as possible. I have added a before photo.... I am getting my upper and lower abdomen and love handles done. This is all I have for today. I will update tomorrow after I get home. Updated on 24 Jun 2015: Today is the Big day!!! I am nervous and excited. I think I'm more worried about the long drive....traffic through Nashville is terrible. I weighed in this morning at 180 exactly. I had weighed 196 two months ago and I have been dieting, but can't lose this belly. I am having aqualipo and smart lipo. I have been a lot of research the past few days and have read both good and bad about these procedures. It seems for the most part they have been good reviews. Updated on 25 Jun 2015: I got there early, but didn't have to wait. They took me right back and got stated with things... pictures, vitals and they gave me a shot of demerol and 10mg valium. After I went to the procedure room they gave me shots to numb me. The shots hurt a little, but nothing bad. When I was numb they made 5 small incisions... 3 in front and 2 in back. They waited about 15 minutes for the numbing meds to work, then he started. I can't say it was painless, but again nothing unbearable. It does hurt if they touch a rib and when they are close to your belly button....again, not unbearable pain. They talked and joked with me the whole time and the music was great. First he did the aqualipo, then he did the smart lipo, then the aqualipo again. He removed over 4,000 cc... WOW!!! Everyone there was so amazing. I immediately seen a HUGE difference. When I got home, my husband helped me change my bandages...you will leak. It wasn't that bad. I could tell I had swollen some since I left the office. I was told to expect swelling and bruising so I wasn't surprised or upset. (you will probably need someone to help you change bandages and get back in to your compression garment.) I have included a picture of 3 hours post op. You can see that I have swelling, but nothing bad yet. I am expecting more swelling and bruising as the days go by. So far I am really happy I did this. They gave me a precription for pain medicine, but I'm not going to get it filled. I'm really not that sore. I slept pretty good last night. Just woke up when I needed to roll over, that was a little painful, but not bad... went right back to sleep each time. I will keep you updated with my journey. Updated on 26 Jun 2015: I was still pretty sore last night, but only when I needed to roll over in bed. Today the soreness is only about half what it was yesterday. It feels like I did a few too many sit ups. The swelling has gone down noticeably. The draining stopped yesterday and the incisions are already closed. So, far I think I am going to be very happy with the end results. I used an ice pack once yesterday, that may have helped with the swelling. Since yesterday I have lost 2 1/2 inches around my waist. I am thrilled because I'm only at day 2!!! I have a small amount of bruising, but not really that noticeable. I haven't needed anything for pain. I will post again tomorrow. Updated on 27 Jun 2015: Still sore, but very bearable. The swelling is going down and I can already see a big difference. I have lost 1 pound since the day of my procedure, which is good because I am still swollen and I weigh less than I did before I had this done. I have been using an icepack at least once a day. This may be helping with the swelling. I am so excited to see what the next week brings. I wasn't expecting to see so much difference this soon, so I am pretty happy!!! Updated on 29 Jun 2015: A little more swollen today, but I think I did too much this weekend. Still sore, but getting better each day. I can't see much difference since day 3 post-op, but I am swollen. They said I would be swollen for a while so I'm not worried about it. Updated on 1 Jul 2015: Still sore and swollen. Nothing I wasn't expecting. I'm still happy I had the procedure done. I'm still hoping for great results. I really expect to see some more change in the next couple weeks. I go back for my follow-up in 5 more days. I will see what they say. Updated on 8 Jul 2015: The soreness is getting better. I'm still swollen, but that's to be expected. I went for my post-op visit today. They said I was doing great. So far I am happy with the results. I can't wait to see the final results and get out of this compression garment. Updated on 17 Jul 2015: It's been 3 weeks and 2 days since my procedure. I'm still a little sore and still have swelling. There are hard lumps on my sides that I hope is just swelling and will go away after more time. I weighed today and I have lost 2 pounds. I wasn't expecting weight loss from the procedure.... just inches. I am happy with the 2 pounds. I'm still wearing my compression garment 23 hours a day and plan to wear if the full 12 weeks as suggested. I'm still excited and hopeful about the results after the 12 weeks. I certainly hope they are better than they are right now. Updated on 24 Jul 2015: I really can't see much difference this week. The soreness has really gotten better. I am still swollen.... or at least I hope it's swelling!!! I know it's only been 4 weeks, but I was hoping to see some difference this week. I'm not giving up, they told me it would take at least 6 weeks to see good results and 12 weeks to see full results. I'm going to stay positive. Updated on 29 Jul 2015: I can't see much difference since last week.... if any at all. I'm still trying to diet and exercise. Stomach is still hard... swelling I suppose. Still a little tender, but nothing to complain about. I'm keeping the faith that this is NOT my final results.... I'm hoping for better than this. Updated on 5 Aug 2015: I'm not posting pictures today because, there is no change. I'm still just a bit sore and have a few numb places still.... more weeks and I can take this compression garment off... I can NOT wait!!! I certainly hope I have better results by then. If I had it to do over, I would have had this done in the winter months. Wearing a bathing suit over the compression garment is not a lot of fun. Updated on 11 Aug 2015: I went back for my follow up today. Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since the procedure. The pictures they took the day of the surgery and then again today show a much bigger difference than I realized. I am happy, but still hoping the next 5 weeks will bring even better results. 5 more weeks of wearing the compression garment then I'm free. Updated on 27 Aug 2015: I can't see any difference since the last photos I posted. I have 3 more weeks of wearing the compression garment.... still hoping for more results. Updated on 27 Aug 2015: I can't see any difference since the last photos I posted. I have 3 more weeks of wearing the compression garment.... still hoping for more results. Updated on 10 Sep 2015: I am pretty happy with the results.... of course, I would love to see even more. They said it would take up to 12 weeks for best results and up to a year for full results. I have 1 more week in the compression garment.... I can NOT wait until I can stop wearing it. I may still wear it for a while during the day, but not at night!!! I want the best results I can get and if wearing it a little longer, just during the day, will help, then I will.
I recently had a consult at NuBody concepts for a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. It was not a bad experience and the surgeon was a very good salesperson. However, after going home and doing my homework, I was very surprised to learn what I did. The first, none of the surgeon's at new body concepts are actually plastic surgeons. Dr. Trey Emerson is a gynecologist and Dr. Mandy is a general surgeon, not even sure if he is board certified. When I dug closer on Dr. Mandy, actually found out that he was dishonorably discharged from the military. After going to another consultation with an actual plastic surgeon, I came to find out that Aqualipo is just a fancy name given to traditional laser liposuction. And, I can’t imagine having a breast augmentation completely awake with no local anesthetic as they mention with their “QuickBreast” breast augmentation. Needless to say, I will be going to a board certified plastic surgeon for my surgery and not NuBody Concepts!
The most important consideration when receiving Botox injections is the experience of the injector. Some of the best injectors I've seen are not board certified physicians, but R.N.'s that have years of experience. Generally speaking with Botox less is more. If you're not satisfied with the results at the end of one week, get a few more units until you get the desired results.
If you are still having loose skin or lumpiness 12 months out, you may want to consider laser lipolysis. We combine the bodyjet with the Smartlipo Triplex laser and get good results using the two together.
While individual healing time varies, two weeks is a good average time to avoid intense exercise. Most of my patients do well, however, by beginning walking or other light aerobic activity the day following the procedure. This helps to reduce inflammation and decreases overall soreness.
My patients that usually have the best results are those that already have established healthy eating and exercise routines. These things are easier to maintain than begin while you are healing post op, and tend to give the patients improved results.
While the total cost for your liposuction procedure is typically determined by how many areas you want treated, it is impossible to give out a quote without seeing the patient to determine body type and which treatments will work best. I typically use a combination of the Body Jet and SmartLipo to get the best results in terms of fat removal, fat transfer, and skin tightening. See if your plastic surgeon offers free consultations so that a medical consultant can evaluate you and put together a treatment plan.
