My Lip Lift Journey
I started researching, about 4 months ago, for a local and affordable doctor who could perform a lip lift. I called several well known prominent plastic surgeons in the South Florida área and their waiting time to even evaluate me was between one year to a year and a half. I then call doctor Tran’s office and they gave set my appointment for the following week :). She went and explained me the procedure and asked my expectations. I explained her I was looking to shorten the center part of my philtrum. It measured 22 mm before the procedure. I told her my expectations and we settled to remove 7mm. The procedure took about two hours from the time she does the markings, measurements, and numbing, until the sutures are done. She took her time and was not as quick as other practitioners do, which I love because it made me feel that she was actually working to achieve the best results. Today it marks exactly one week after my procedure and I’m really impressed at the fast pace I’ve been healing. Most people I have seen pictures of a week after their procedure look really swollen and bruised. I never had any bruises although have really bad swelling for the first three days, which is normal. Doctor Tran’s stitches are dissolvable but to tell you the truth, I didn’t even see any stitches poking out of the incision ever. I’m really happy although I still can’t smile normally (it’s really tied) and my lip corners seem to be a bit more downward than what I would love. I knew I needed a corner lip lift as well, but I rather correct this issue with Botox and fillers. I am 45 and I’m already experiencing saggy jowls and I would definitely consider Dr. Tran to help be get those corrected as well :) I’ll keep you posted of my final results. Updated on 8 Nov 2023: It’s been two weeks since my lip lift surgery. I’m still going through scar recovery process. During the mornings I still wake up with some swelling on my upper lip. There some stiffness on the incision area but I’m starting to be able to smile again almost as normal :) Updated on 8 Nov 2023: Sorry I added an update but did not attached the pictures. Here is me smiling after my 2 weeks post op. Still some stiffness and a bit of swelling un one of the nostrils. Scar still under recovery. I’m starting to look like myself again! :)
