Lipo in Your 60s???!!!! Yes You Can!

WORTH IT
After menopause (well over a decade ago) I started getting heavy in the middle. No amount of dieting or fitness classes would help. I'm embarrassed of all the stupid things I tried...Coolsculpting (expensive and useless), Sculptsure (expensive, useless and PAINFUL!!), and more. I NEVER considered Lipo. I saw the procedure on YouTube and couldn't even watch! (I'm squeamish). Plus I thought I was too old to have lipo.
When I realized nothing else would work, eventually I did go to a few Lipo consults in NYC and was not impressed. I found Dr. Maffei on RS and went in for a consult. The facility is SPOTLESS (which is super important to me), the staff (from the young ladies at the desk and weigh in, to his assistant) are really friendly and helpful. Dr. Maffei is very down to earth and easy to communicate with. He's a good listener and genuinely enthusiastic about YOUR case. He is very thorough and patient in answering your questions, and contributing his expertise in what is and isn't possible. He assured me that even though I was in my 60s I wouldn't end up like a shriveled raisin (which was a concern).
The decision was made! I was DOING IT!!!
As I got closer to the date, my level of anxiety was off the charts! I couldn't sleep. I watched every video on YT about the pain and disfigurement many go through. Literally the night before I almost cancelled the appointment out of fear. I'm so glad I didn't!.
Dr. Maffei gave me the right cocktail of calming medicines and anesthesia in the right places. During the procedure there is music and he distracts you with conversation. The most I felt was a ZING here and there and he adjusted to make me comfortable. On the ride home I realized all those weeks of anxiety attacks were so unwarranted.
Dr. Maffei is not only accessible to you BEFORE the procedure, but AFTER as well. He really wants you to be happy the outcome.
There wasn't too much information on Lipo for older ladies so I hope this helps someone else.
