I had my first augmentation in 2015 with a surgeon in Dallas (I now live in SoFlo). I’ve had a baby and significant weight gain / loss, plus breastfeeding and my breast just looked “old” and rippled. Dr. Rosenthal was recommended to a neighbor, who was also one of his old surgical nurses. She said he was a wonderful surgeon, making you feel like his only patient in the world. She was not wrong! I knew from the moment I met him, he would be my surgeon. I completed a handful of other consults, and felt the most comfortable with him and his very friendly staff. He has also completed a lot of philanthropic work, which I admire. He switched out my old implants for new ones, and I wanted to go a smidge bigger (565cc to 625cc). Day zero, I was in a decent amount of pain due to some benign lumps also needing removal, but the team made sure my pain was manageable before discharge. They were very caring. I also had submental chin lipo to help shape my jawline and remove some fatty areas that just won’t go away no matter how much weight I lose (just comes with age, I guess). I have had absolutely no pain in my face since the procedure 2-3 days ago. My chin only feels “tight,” if I am eating something that causes me to open my mouth a little wider. Still, no pain and I can chew fine. I will give another update once my swelling has gone down, but if you are looking for a great and caring surgeon, give Dr. Rosenthal a call!
I took advantage of the complimentary Botox treatment offered by Allergan as a thank you gift for selecting Allergan breast implants for my recent breast augmentation. I was apprehensive at first given the abundance of both positive and negative reviews here on RealSelf, but am so glad I went through with it! The injections to my forehead were quick and painless. Very soon afterward, I noticed the lack of forehead wrinkles when I tried to scrunch my face. My forehead appears much smoother and more youthful, and as an added bonus I feel relief from my daily migraine and tension headaches. Even if it is coincidence or placebo, I am grateful! I understand the injection sites are typically different for headaches versus cosmetic purposes; however, it is a fact I have not had to take anything for my migraine or tension headaches since I received my injections. For me, I feel as though I got great results from my first treatment, and will likely get more in the future. Updated on 21 Jul 2016: Updated on 21 Jul 2016:
He is an amazing artist. He loves his career and he want to make you happy with the results. With all of these combination he made a terrific job. I visited a lot of surgeon during one year because I'm an skeptical person regarding plastic surgery, is always prefer wait before make a wrong decision. With Dr Rosenthal was different, he is very conservative who like nature results. I had recommend my own daughter to see him for a consultation.
This site has been very helpful to me. So, like many others on here, I am paying it forward. This shouldn't be a taboo topic, yet it can understandably be uncomfortable or embarrassing to discuss. But, without the bravery of the women on here, so many of us (myself included) would be going into our procedures blind. I knew nothing about breast augmentation before I found this site. I've now learned the extensive terminology, and have seen how each different size, shape, profile, and brand of implant can look on so many different body types. I've learned tips and tricks to help with recovery and managing my long-term expectations. It's great to have this community of reference and support. Thank you to everyone on here. I hope I am able to contribute. Updated on 15 Mar 2016: Post op day 5 and so far, very happy with results. Have 330cc Allergan Natrelle Inspira SRM over the muscle. Pain is bearable - almost non-existent in one breast. In the other, it is a little painful due to what I believe is nerve repair or regeneration. Swelling doesn't seem all that bad, but I don't mind it anyway. The shape is great and already very natural looking, so I'll gladly take the extra boost the swelling is giving me right now! In general, recovery has gone pretty well. My doctor and nurse have been fantastic with answering any and all questions and being available 24/7 for any issues or concerns. Updated on 24 Mar 2016: Two weeks post op today. Time has flown by, and I'm getting pretty used to my new additions. They change daily, and are settling wonderfully. So far, I am still very happy with my decision, and am loving the confidence boost that I have gained from not having to wear thick, padded bras. The size and profile feel perfect. I can't wait to see the final result! Updated on 26 Mar 2016: Excuse the hunching. This seems to be a very common side effect of a BA at first. Everything is so new and heavy and tight that it feels better to hunch to relieve some of the pulling. Updated on 26 Mar 2016: I am realizing I am hunching over in just about every photo I take. Excuse the cord and the extreme cropping I have done to remove any distinguishable items from the photo. Dr. Rosenthal is an artist! I showed a family member my results for the first time today, and even at this early stage, she could not believe they had been augmented. They are already looking, feeling, and moving very naturally. Updated on 28 Jun 2016: Everything has been healing nicely, and I am VERY happy with my results. They are big (compared to my "starter set"), yet modest. The size and shape are absolutely perfect. They have settled into their positions very well, and feel very soft and natural. Recovery has been great. Added bonus - my scar is extremely thin, smooth and short. I am very grateful for how gentle my doctor was with my surgery! He also did exactly what he said he was going to do - give me a nice, natural result that would allow me to dress them up or down depending on the occasion. No one at work would ever know. Yet, I feel so much more confident and comfortable in my own skin. When I want to dress up for a special occasion, I feel very feminine and sexy even without a bra on (something I never would have done before). I wanted this for a long time, and it was definitely a good decision. Updated on 7 Jul 2016: Feeling very soft and more like a G-d given part of my body with each passing month. Updated on 21 Jul 2016: Updated on 6 Jan 2017: Just a few days shy of the ten month mark. Figured I'd do a quick update to show the progress as they continue to drop, soften, and look more natural with each passing month. I still love them, and still think they are the perfect size and projection for me! Updated on 7 Mar 2017: Only a few days away from the one-year mark. They have settled into the perfect place. Love them!
I was never truly bothered about the shape and size of my breast until my sister pointed it out. One breast was significantly larger than the other and I noticed that the size of my areolas was also uneven. I had my breast augmentation done with Dr. Rosenthal and I can honestly say that this has been the greatest decision. Although it has only been a few days i am pretty much in love with my results and I thought it would be a good idea to share my results with the real self community and answer any questions y'all might have! :-D
Hi I am a 28 year old female, just underwent breast augmentation and rhinoplasty yesterday morning at 10:30am. Had 320cc Sientra smooth round silicone, moderate profile implants. I had my first post op appt this morning and had all ace bandages removed, so far I am really happy. The pain has been moderate, mostly located around the incision, under the breast. Also lots of tension swelling around the otter edges. Ive moved to wearing a surgical bra and trying to take it easy although all i want to do is clean the house and move around. I think the meds are making me antsy! Will post some pictures pre and post op, still very swollen. would love some feedback, Im nervous I maybe went too small or need some best support keeping them together. thanks! Updated on 16 May 2014: Hi ladies, so thankful for the feedback already and finding the real self community! Im officially 2 days post op and feeling a little better than yesterday. Woke up in the middle of the night again with severe pressure near the incisions. Ive had a hard time sleeping on my back as Im usually a side sleeper. Using some large king pillows last night helped. The implants seem to be dropping a little already. Yesterday the right looked larger and now the left one looks larger. Im hoping the symmetry is perfect once the drop fully. I also have zero feeling in my nipples and top of the breast. Showering has also been one of the bigger challenges. Taking a bath and sponging near the breast has been the easier for me. Overall the experience has been up and down but thankfully my Dr and staff has been so helpful with any questions. Will post some new pictures from this morning (not too much of a change from yesterday) wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good front clasp sports bra? Updated on 16 May 2014: Just tried taking my first shower 2 days post op and wow was it difficult. Because I also had rhinoplasty, trying to keep the water from running down my face and also to the incision tape seemed almost impossible. Yesterday I bathed and that seemed easier. Has anyone had trouble with showering in the first week or tips for washing without getting the tapping wet Updated on 17 May 2014: Just a few pictures taken this afternoon, 3 days post op. They are becoming softer and feeling more like mine today Updated on 18 May 2014: First time I actually felt like putting on anything fitted.Had to support my Miami Heat :) :) Still wearing the surgical bra. I feel like they look so small and low in clothes .... I know once I'm wearing a real bra they won't be so confined but really hoping the size doesn't go down much more! I like the fullness currently. Have my first post op appt with my PS on Thursday. Updated on 23 May 2014: Saw my PS yesterday and he gave me the go ahead to start wearing other bras (besides the surgical one) No under wire or anything too padded/push up. He said this may change the shape of the implant. After a week I an so happy with the size, swelling has gone down and sleeping is way more comfortable now that I can lay in my side. My Ps seems really pleased with the progress and I am so happy that first week is over! On that note I couldn't help myself from trying on my favorite bra (or what used to be! ) its a VS padded very sexy 32d. They looked huuuuggge!
I had a Rhinoplasty with Dr Rosenthal. He is a very caring doctor who will sit with you and doesn't consider you a number. I went to a few doctors who simply asked what I wanted done. Dr Rosenthal actually looked at my nose telling me what issues I had and showed me aesthetically what my nose should look like. His staff treats you like a friend and it's [RS bleep] like some other offices.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer 7 years ago, I chose to have my reconstruction procedures with Dr. Andrew Rosenthal. The lengthy process involved several surgeries and many office visits. He and his staff were there for me every step of the way. Years later, I continue to follow up with him and I am confident that I chose the right surgeon.
I had an accident in February 2012 that required skin grafts for 3rd degree burns. Dr. Rosenthal was assigned my case at West Boca Medical Center and I will be eternally thankful for that good fortune. He performed 4 surgeries on me last year (the procedure cost indicated was all paid by insurance); and I have been seeing him for laser resurfacing every six weeks dating back to November 2012. He is providing these treatments out of the kindness of his heart and I have come amazingly far from where I was in the days after the accident. I would (and do!) recommend him to everyone I come in contact with. I trust him with my life.
I had liposuction to my upper and lower abdomen and although the first couple days after surgery were quite uncomfortable I feel really good and glad to have gone through with the procedure. The staff at Sanctuary are very knowledgeable and helpful and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Rosenthal. I have received several phone calls from the Sanctuary staff after the procedure to follow up on how I am doing.
I don't know your specific anatomy, but I would never use 600-700cc implants at the same time as a lift. These combined procedures are very difficult to do together especially large lifts or large implants. Patients fall into 1 of 3 categories: 1) small lift needed, definitely need more volume--> implant first (perhaps a shaped implant to get better lower pole fill and rotation of nipple upwards); then a lift later if they need it. 2) large lift needed, may need implant --> do the lift first and stage the implant. 3) need small or moderate lift and moderate amount of volume --> can do MODERATE size implant and lift at same time. Also, when you do a lift at the same time, you usually get significantly better projection, so you usually need only a moderate or moderate plus type implant. Also fat grafting can help in these circumstances and we are using that much more judiciously during these types of procedures to gain excellent results.
On the front shot, I can't completely see your chin, but it appears that you have some facial asymmetry, i.e. your chin points a little to the left. Don't worry-- we all do. I always look at your bite and ask if you ever had braces. Our nose is like the roof on the house. The roof can only be perfectly straight if the foundation is, and that foundation starts with how your teeth come together (your bite). You have to be aware of this preoperatively and be prepared to compensate for it or address the facial asymmetry directly.
You could do a fairly subtle revision of the tip. It should be done "open." You have a beautiful well proportioned face. Overreduction of the tip or failure to adqeuately support the tip would the biggest possible pitfalls with you. Ask if your surgeon has VECTRA 3D imaging. It would really help as a communication tool.
I believe massage helps. However... 1) How you massage matters (most women do not massage firmly enough) 2) How often and how consistently you massage matters 3) Massage will help with some softening if the capsule is not calcified, but it is a mild tool. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon prior to engaging in any massage protocol. There is also a company called Aspen which is located here in South Florida which is internationally known for its capsular contracture protocols. If a capsule is too thick or there is some other reason that it has become thickened, you may have to either change the pocket or consider using an acellular dermal matrix product like Alloderm or Strattice to help prevent reformation of a hard capsule around the implant. It is the capsule (scar) around the implant which gets hard, not the implant itself.
Vectra is an excellent tool-- particularly a communication tool with the patient to discuss how you wish to look. However, there are a few caveats: 1) I don't find the sizes to be predictive. Rely on your surgeon's judgement in the operating room based on him or her understanding your wishes and using his or her experience rather than settling on a specific size preoperatively. 2) VECTRA is poor when you require a lift as well 3) Whether the implant is placed subfascial, submuscular, or subglandular affects the apparent volume which is modeled.
