Dr. Colque and his nursing staff are amazing. He made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. His work was precise and I love the outcome! He did amazing. Never thought I'd look the way I do! Thank you so much to Dr.Colque and staff for transforming my life!!! I will be going back to him in 6 months for a BBL!
Alex was great and makes you feel so comfortable. During the procedure he had his sweet nurse holding my hand the whole time and she did a great job at calming me. Results are great and gave me the confidence I needed.
My July 2019 brachioplasty took about 3 hours under general anesthesia. I used a board certified plastic surgeon who had done an excellent job with my double labiaplasty a few years earlier. I liked his invisible, dissolving stitches. Prior to this in March 2019 I had a full face and neck lift, neck lipo and rhinoplasty. The brachioplasty was the last procedure after losing 60 pounds to correct excess skin everywhere. I definitely had “bingo wings” of my upper arms.Because work ill be done on both of your arms be prepared to have anesthesia place the IV in one of your feet or even your neck. The nurse took 3 stabs at it but luckily gave me a little lidocaine before each attempt so it was not as painful as it could have been.My surgeon came into mark my arms a few minutes before my procedure. I made certain to mention which arm was larger and have him inspect my tattoos well to keep things even.I have a medical condition called POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) so I made handouts for my anesthesiologist and post op nurses to be sure they knew how to manage my blood pressure issues. Post op I awoke with moderate discomfort. I felt a burning sensation and soreness in my upper arms. I was given tramadol or as I like to refer to it as, “arm pain candy” which worked well enough to get me home the same day.my arms were wrapped in absorbent pads, tegadern, gauze and surgical stretchy bandages. There was a little oozing and staining. My doc uses no drains which was far less hassle then my facelift.Make sure to get your antibiotic and pain med scripts filled BEFORE your procedure and have them ready at your bedside at home. I bought 4 cheap pillows and covers on amazon and had those available to prop up my arms too. I even brought 2 with me, left in my friend’s car who was driving me for on the way home. This was a lifesaver for comfort around the seatbelt and to keep my arms elevated for the drive home. Also, I wore a button down house coat to the hospital. Easy on, easy, off. Had frozen meals prepared and in the freezer as well as my go to organic bone broth for easy nutrients.I am fairly pain tolerant and took only tylenol once home. I was told to stay away from my favorite pain medication....ibuprofen due to increased bleeding risk. The first night was miserable. I walked outside to get the mail and the six steps got my arms throbbing. The next morning I watered yard plants with a hose and pulled one arm when the hose got stuck which caused me excessive and unneeded pain. There was a heatwave after that so I mostly rested indoors with AC and fans blowing. Looking back I feel the more still you are in the first few days the better your pain will be managed. You must still get up and walk the halls of your house every hour to prevent blood clots but otherwise resting is best. Not only did my doc remove excess skin on my upper arms but he also used liposuction to get rid of stubborn fat. Lipo makes the area hard and numb for many weeks after. It happened with my neck and took about 3 months to soften so be aware that this may happen to you. Each day post op I felt better and gained more range of motion. I had to sleep on my back even though I prefer my sides. I was not allowed to shower for two days. Then I could remove the compression bandages leaving only the absorbent pads covered with the waterproof yet breathable tegaderm. I could then see some more bruising (another after effect of lipo) and blood stains on the pads.Day two my face felt hot and was flushed. Swelling increased on my hands and forearms. I could hardly move my arms to wash myself in the shower and washing my hair was out of the question. I did my best. I recommend popping a pain med an hour before you attempt your first shower. By days 4-5 I was able to put on street clothes that did not button down, take a multiple block walk to a nearby park and wash my hair fairly well.I see my doc on day 8 to have him remove the pads and tegaderm so have not yet seen my scars. The tegaderm is already falling off at the edges and I was told that if it falls off there is no need to call the office before my scheduled appointment. Post op photos to follow. Updated on 24 Jul 2019: Today I saw my plastic surgeon for the first time since my arm lift on July 16, 2019. I removed my tegaderm and absorbent padding the night before my visit. My doc and his nurse said that I am healing well and to keep my incisions moist with polysporin/neosporin or aquaphor until all scabs are gone (probably another week) and then begin silicone scar therapy (strips or cream). Right now my incisions are raised and very tender. The challenge for me is not doing too much too soon. I was told I cold go back to the gym by next week but only for lower body work and recumbent cycling. Heart rate must be maintained below 100. I have already taken a couple of long walks in local parks. Since I never took any narcotics while at home I have been able to drive already taking care with my turns not to strain my arms. I would say that my armpits are the most sensitive areas of my incision. Wearing a short sleeved cotton tee shirt helps with that but I can see why that area often has healing issues due to rubbing or pulling opening up the incisions. I still tire easily and have been focusing on resting, walking and eating well...high protein and nutrient rich veggies, probiotics, supplements and plenty of fluids. I finished my 7 day antibiotic regimen yesterday Photos soon.. Updated on 25 Jul 2019: Updated on 4 Aug 2019: So this weekend I saw a small hole open up in the center of my right armpit. I am keeping it clean and plan o call my surgeon tomorrow to have this assessed and get a wound care plan in place. It is a very small hole but it did em to get a bit larger from one day to the next. I am approximately 18 days post op. Updated on 23 Aug 2019: Waiting for this arm pit hole to heal is like watching paint dry. My wound seems a bit bigger probably due to every day movements. I cannot say for certain butI I think I see new tissue forming inside of the hole. I see my plastic surgeon for a regular follow up next week. Updated on 30 Aug 2019: Here is the latest photos from my wound haling by secondary intention. The new tissue is at last nearing the skin line! The most recent photo is below along with a 4 photo comparison with the most recent image at the bottom. Updated on 5 Nov 2019: My arms have healed up and the scars are fading. The embrace silicone tape works wonders to keep the scars from widening. I used them for 3 months. Make sure to ask your surgeon when it is ok to start applying them or similar. The small hole that reopened healed up fine but took several weeks so just be aware it takes time. Still waiting for my armpit area to turn white (scars still pink) but this take a number of months. Can exercise fully with weights and machines now without issue so doing that at the gym. Extremely happy with my results. Even my tattoos came out straight! My favorite coat fits wonderfully now plus my arms fit my figure.
first BA was in 9/2007 - was to correct my insecurities of my heart surgery scar I have . ASD repair when I was 5. Left a scar - that looked like a smilie face with my nipples (no boobs) and scar. Shortly after first BA - I noticed my implants could move and touch each other and I Had a hinder looking cleavage with skin that pulled away from my chest wall. This was about 2 months post op. I was told this was symmastia and I would need to have another surgery and could schedule in 6 months. not having the vacation, funds or real desire to endure the pain again post poned. I since got married, had 2 children and here i am. Finally in a position to get it corrected. I had 6 different consultations for who to pick to for the correction. I choose Dr Colque. His RN was super nice and the doctor was interested in what my thoughts were and what I wanted corrected. He was very good at listening and had a very calming demeanor. You could tell his wheels where turning and he really takes into account YOU as a person. I had my surgery on Thursday. I am almost 1 week out and am super happy with the outcome thus far. The pain has been minimal. I am wearing my surgical bra and my thong bra still with limited lifting and arm movements but am back to work. I went from 450 CC - to 485 CC with symmastia correction. I basically told him I was happy with my size but if the correction required bigger or smaller implants I would be fine with it. I just wanted to finally have normal cleavage and normal looking breast. super excited to see once the stitches are all gone and and i take off thong bra! I will upload before and after pictures shortly! Highly recommend! Updated on 10 Jan 2019: 2007 BA was sub glandular, 2019 BA was sub muscular with chest wall attachment. Pictures are before and 4 days post op with thongbra on. I just wanted to post pictures but I need 200 characters for update. Updated on 28 Feb 2019: Here is a before and after post OP 8 weeks. Happy with my results this far!! Still wearing thong bra and using scar away. The separation I love. Looking back on how it was the difference is amazing! Updated on 7 May 2019: Once I stopped wearing the thongbra, and started wearing an normal bra it was evident the skin in between my breast was not attached. standing with no bra I have some separation but with a bra or swimsuit or anything that holds the breast the skin in the middle pulls away and I have sysmastia again :( Pretty bummed. Updated on 7 May 2019: Skin did not adhere to chest wall. I added my comment below. After being allowed to not wear the thongbra at 12 weeks post OP..it was evident the skin was not attached. I still have some separation when standing and wearing no support but with anything that pushes to provides support they touch and skin pulls away from chest wall.
I am 33 and a very proud mother Surgeries have been Labiaplasty Following will be Breast & Gluteal(buttock) Implants Key Points will be 1.) The time of waiting from giving birth to the start of surgery 2.) Interviewing surgeons, super important 3.) Labiaplasty experience (1 out of 3 surgeries i will be receiving) 4.) Patient Suggestions for Recovering from Labiaplasty 5.) Reasons I am getting these surgeries, sometimes it would be nice to just say "because I want them" my reason goes a little deeper so enjoy 1.) I WAITED 2 YEARS POST BIRTH & KNOWING DONE HAVING ANYMORE CHILDREN I waited until I knew I was done having children to start my "mama makeover" Knew what I wanted & I waited about 2 years post from giving labor recommended by my ob. This was for hormone & body reasons. I was informed it takes about 2 years for a persons body & hormones to regulate after this time period per my OB of about 12 years. 2.) INTERVIEWING SURGEONS Started my journey gaining information on my exact wants/goals of surgeries & then started shopping around for surgeons probably 6 months after giving birth. Dr. Alex Colque was my choice out of 5 surgeons I interviewed, almost 6 but I thought I interviewed enough and made a good choice for good reasons. I based my decision on our communication, similar interest of the goals to meet, fair financial charge, office/staff/self presentation, & answering my personal + fda consult questions I looked up online through fda.gov A huge plus is that I was impressed there was not a pressure of feeling rushed by Dr. Alex Colque. Yet, I still felt a respect of my business as a patient was wanted. A very good balance of professionalism if you ask me. 3.) LABIAPLASTY YES WORTH IT & HERE IS WHY Now as a mama of almost a 3 and 8 year old I could not plunge right into all 3 of my surgeries, especially with the 3 year old. I did the labiaplasy and it was a very successful surgery. I requested for a natural look. I do not have access to add photos at this very moment I just want to say YES This surgery is worth it I went from age 33 embarrassed of having V-Lips hanging from my upper valva by my clitoris and hung between my legs. I now have no hanging, may I say it just looks amazingly beautiful. Yes, I will admit my entire labia, even around my clitoris area in my opinion does look better than even my natural look yet still looks natural #amazing 4.) MY PERSONAL "PATIENT SUGGESTIONS" FOR LABIAPLASTY RECOVERY BUT STILL FOLLOW YOUR SURGEONS DIRECTION I recommend 3 days off of work On the fourth day I walk at my job for 5 hours and then sit for about 3 hours it was uncomfortable but tolerable. Now, I did the same thing on the third day post op, I handled it but I would not recommend working on the third day. dermaplast spray took care of any itching I had within the first 7-10 days icing took care of the bruising 4-7 days I still use a wipe after urinating to keep area clean because most sutures have dissolve yet some are still present & I am at 26 days post operation 5.) MY EXTENDED REASONS FOR SURGERIES OTHER THAN BECAUSE I WANTED THESE SURGERIES JUST FOR ME Labiaplasty & Breast I felt needed to be done to get back to my natural prebirth body. My labia needed a "facelift" after birthing my prodigies LoL High school I held 32DDs with a petite body type. Through my pregnancies I held this size if not larger. However, breast were like balloons and inflated/deflated where now I am barely an A & uncomfortable in more than one way. The gluteal implants, well, that is more of a personal want. I have wanted gluteal implants most of my life. I lift weights on a regular & I need to concentrate more on my other body parts otherwise I know all these squats with minimal results will hurt other body parts. That is That
I got a brazilian butt lift done August 24 2018 with Dr. Colque. I am about 11 weeks post op. I hesitated staying in Wisconsin for this procedure due to it not being as popular and performed as much as other large cities. After doing my research I came across Dr. Colque and read he was trained in Miami which immediately sparked my interest. Consulting was at no charge so I had nothing to loose. I knew after seeing Dr. Colque that he was going to do my surgery. He took his time with me and explained in detail the procedure along with getting my opinion. His nurses were helpful and in depth with information. The surgery was a success as well as the recovery! My results are natural and beautiful! I would definitely recommend Dr. Colque!
Excellent experience with neck/double chin liposuction. I thought I had a weak chin - turns out it was just fat! ;) Top image is morning of procedure with "turkey gobble" showing. Bottom image is day 2 or 3 after procedure. Still swollen believe it or not. I'm currently on day 6 following procedure and about 85 percent of the bruising has vanished and sutures were taken out from under chin. Definitely worth it to get lipo vs injection or cool sculpt IMO. Updated on 30 Mar 2019: Excellent experience with neck/double chin liposuction. So I finally bit the bullet and scheduled my sugery for February 28th 2020. I’m very excited, yet extremely nervous. I’ve never been under general anastetics, so that’s what actually scares me the most! Updated on 27 Feb 2020: Not sure if anyone is going to follow this or not but I’ve found looking at Real self and other support groups helpful. I have to be at the hospital at 6am and surgery is at 8am. 4.5 hours was blocked for surgery and the nurse said he typically uses that fill time. I am absolutely anxiety ridden more because of going under general anesthesia. I just want to be ok for my 3 girls and husband. I wasn’t required to do pre op but I definitely did with my primary. Nothing was too out of wack except I had a UTI so I’m on antibiotics for it. I just hope everything goes smoothly! Updated on 29 Feb 2020: I had my surgery Friday at 8:30sm! I am so glad I didn’t chicken out. I don’t even remember falling asleep. I just remembering being in recovery. All that is a blur honestly. I didn’t leave the hospital until 5:30pm. The only crappy thing is I’ve puked twice. Probably from the GA. My mouth is so dry I tried to eat some plain toast but that didn’t work out. I’ve been drinking Gatorade and water. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be better. I haven’t taken any pain pills. I’m proud of that because I hate being on any narcotics. I’m prettt sore but the pain isn’t as horrible as I thought. I’ve been walking around often that actually helps a lot. Can’t sleep for more then an hour at a time it seems which sucks but it is what it is. Glad it’s all done and I can just focus on healing! Updated on 7 Mar 2020: Feeling better everyday! The first week was pretty hard I’m not gonna lie. Never took any narcotics or opioids so I’m proud of that. Haven’t even took Tylenol in 2 days. The hardest part so far is not sleeping! I’m lucky to get 5 hours of that. No naps or anything either so it’s been draining! I can almost stand up straight but can’t really stand longer then 5 mins without feeling completely winded! I’m hoping I regain some stamina soon. I did have my 5 day post op checkup. Everything looked good including my new belly! I can’t believe how flat I am. Still have 2 drains in that can’t come out until I I have 25 cc of fluid or less for 48 hours. Hoping next week they’ll come out!
Hey everyone, I used real self as an outlet 5 years ago with my tummy tuck and wanted to come back to share my journey along with the rest of you for my upcoming breast lift with implants and arm lift! I will post photos and recovery info, so follow me for more! Updated on 28 Mar 2019: My goal for the next 2 months is to take care of my body as much as I can for surgery. I know I’ll be knocked out for a few weeks and I’m training for a 1/2 marathon in September that I don’t want to lose too much stamina during recovery. Hydrate, stay healthy, and I’d like to lose some weight before then as well. I also will be ordering a few things from amazon to help with recovery. I’ll update a few more times before surgery. If you have had this combo of surgeries drop me an note so I can check you out and let me know how you’re doing!! Updated on 28 Mar 2019: So it’s been 5 years since I had my tummy tuck and 2 months away from having new perky boobs and smaller arms! I’m 6 feet tall and currently a size 16 pants and 12-14 top mostly because of my arm size. I’m doing a silicone implant 700cc to fill out my chest cavity. Updated on 29 May 2019: Getting nervous and excited. Had my hospital preop appt this morning! Can’t wait to get the surgery behind me! Updated on 3 Jun 2019: Couldn’t be happier with my results Dr Colque is a miracle worker! Updated on 3 Jun 2019: Updated on 14 Jun 2019: Couldn’t be happier with results! Everything looks great as is healing fine. Still sore and tired but everyday gets better! Updated on 27 Aug 2019: Big boobs tiny arms
I turned 40 years old in November of 2016. I felt good going into my 40th year because I had lost 30 pounds and 6 inches in my stomach (HCG diet) and managed to maintain the loss. Even though I felt good, the tummy tuck that I had wanted for several years was still in the back of my mind. Finding this website has helped me to conquer the fears ...... 1) will my spouse understand why I want to have this surgery, 2) feeling guilty for spending this amount of money on myself and 3) worrying about who's going to keep everything on track in this family while I'm recovering. I have many things to be thankful for but even so I completely came back alive while going this process. Looking forward to sharing my journey with all of you and going along for the ride on your journeys. Updated on 9 May 2017: I went back and forth with myself on if DR was the place for me to get my surgery or not and I ultimately chose to stay in the states. With any surgery, done anywhere there are risks. Ultimately my decision was based on my chemistry with the doctor AND his/her nurse staff, where the procedure was being performed, post op care and being able to connect with my surgeon live if I encountered any issues. There are a ton of board certified plastic surgeons here in Wisconsin and I scheduled consultations with just about every one of them but I knew I could not see everyone of them and it was silly for me to pay consultation fee's to multiple surgeons. So I weeded out doctors by studying their online before & after pictures for each surgeon. I fell in love with one doctor's pictures because his work featured contouring. Most of the other surgeons work did not produce any curves! The unknown star that I chose was Dr. Alex Colque. I decided on a tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo of the flanks and bra line. I'M NERVOUS Y'ALL! Total Cost: $7,500 Includes: surgeon fee, anesthesia, hospital fee (overnight stay), compression garments and skin treatment/dressing for the scar. Updated on 9 May 2017: Height: 5 "7" Weight: 204 (175 looks really good on me) Updated on 9 May 2017: Pre-Op went very well! Dr. Colque did not require me to have a pre-op but I wanted to make sure that my primary care physician was in agreement that I was in good enough health to have this surgery. Did a physical and blood work was ordered. Everything was good. My iron and Vitamin D were low so he prescribed an over the counter vitamin which should help to get my levels a little higher. Regardless of that I was still cleared for surgery. Plastic Surgeon's nurse Sandy is so very pleasant. She is very attentive, returns my calls right away, is patient and answers all of my questions, shows alot of empathy and has a lot of confidence in the doctor based on his results. Surgery is in 7 days. It's getting way too real. Updated on 9 May 2017: Been searching for one of these to help in my post-op recovery with no luck. Rent-A-Center was popular in alot of comments that I read but they no longer offer the rent program here in Wisconsin. Anyone have any suggestions? Updated on 11 May 2017: Hey Ladies, Dropping a note to give an update on a couple of things. No one is reading my updates but I don't care, creating these reviews is therapeutic for me. These reviews have helped me so much that I just want to give back to the community. - Electric Lift Recliner: Found a place in Wisconsin that has a rental program. Yes! I had to give my height and weight so that I could be fitted for a chair. The recliners look really nice online and have four reclining positions. The cost is $195 per month. There is also a $75 delivery and pick up fee. The company is 101 Mobility, their located in Waukesha and can be contacted by calling 262-822-3412 . - Picked up my pain prescription from the pharmacy along with a stool softner. My surgeon suggested Colace so I'll start there. I typically don't have ANY problems with BM's so I've decided to start the stool softner's the day of surgery. I don't need to have any accidents during my surgery. I'll need to take 100mg twice a day. - Registration with the hospital where my surgery is being performed is done. This is super real! I'm feeling so good and I'm so happy that I'm doing this for myself. In a blink, I'll be joining you ladies on the skinny side. Pray for me and my family. Updated on 15 May 2017: Tomorrow at about this time I will be on the skinny side, god willing! I can't wait, it's so surreal. Pray for me and my family. I need to make it home to my family. Just a couple of updates: -Electric Lift Recliner: The recliner that I rented from 101 Mobility came this morning. it's perfect. It looks and feels brand new. I decided to have it placed in my bedroom. My bedroom also has a bathroom in it so I figured it would be the best place to hang out for the first couple of weeks. -At Home Assistance: My daughter's first semester of college just ended so she will be home with me for the first couple of weeks. I'm so thankful to her for helping us out. With her staying home, my husband can go to work and continue to earn for our family as my leave is unpaid. Updated on 18 May 2017: Surgery was almost four hours but I MADE IT TO THE SKINNY SIDE! Ladies I am so glad that I spent so much time reading reviews in this community. With the information I received from my Surgeon and you ladies, I felt so informed going in......informed about pain post surgery, on the importance of resting, the importance of having help at home, the lift recliner, the uncomfortableness of the binder, the jp drains, and etc! To be honest, I didn't go down the road of wish pics because I didn't want to set myself up to be let down. I really just wanted the best ME possible and I AM SO HAPPY. I'M FLAT ALL THE WAY AROUND for the first time in ten years. I stayed the night at the hospital and I am so glad I did that. The pain was almost unbearable but I got through it. I got home yesterday and am happy to be back with my family. I'm taking Oxycodone as prescribed (2 every 4 hours) so I'm sleeping most of the time. Because I'm up I thought I would sneak in a update. Here's the down low: - Doc removed 5 lbs. of fat NOT including fat from lipo. - I weighed in 8 lbs lighter today than my pre-op weight. - My appetite is very light. I've only been able to drink water and small amounts of soup and/or jello here and there. - Caught a bad case of indigestion a couple of hours after coming out of surgery and it tore me down. TUMS didn't work but Zantac has down the trick. - Mucus build up and cough caused by the tube that is in your throat during surgery. Coughing is very painful but manageable with a pillow or two held closely to the chest when coughing. - Cleaning the drains is very easy.....very easy. - I am already experiencing swell hell and my binder keeps riding up. I'm hoping I'll get a new one at my first post op appointment next week. - Post Op PICS to come...
The results for coolsculpting are quite amazing, the patient satisfaction rate is very high. The whole process can take up to 4 months, but patients will start to see results as soon as 30 days. This is a very motivating time and photos are required at 30 days. Patients typically look at coolsculpting other areas after noticeable results.
